Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of efficiently operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)One would hope that government bureaucrats would treat every American taxpayer the same, providing top notch services in their area of expertise. Unfortunately, when talking about the Federal government, fairness is not always the way he government and its employees operator:
As we all know, several states in the southeast portion of the country, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina suffered from two very strong hurricanes in the past month or so.
As a result, the Federal government’s FEMA organization was sent to these states to help those that had lost their homes, their possessions, and in some cases, their lives, as a result of the violence from the hurricanes.
Initially, it appeared that a local FEMA supervisor on the effort, ordered her staff not to visit any hurricane damaged home that had a “Trump For President” sign or flag displayed on their property.
Obviously, this is an obnoxious abuse of taxpayer wealth, government employees treating American citizens differently simply based on their political preferences.
FEMA upper management went into damage control mode when word got out about this local supervisor’s actions and quite quickly fired her and apologized.
But the story gets better since the fired supervisor, Marn’i Washignton, did not go quietly into the night.
She went public and accused her immediate and upper management of FEMA of installing this policy not just in her region of Florida but in other areas both in Florida and other states.
The actual directive found within FEMA’s communications, the actual Trump fan skipping order was “Trump sign, no contact per leadership.”
Pretty disgusting government action, regardless if it was a single rogue local supervisor or the order was coming from higher ups in FEMA management. Imagine you were an average American citizen and taxpayer whose life was just turned upside down from a hurricane, a citizen who just so happened to support Trump: the Federal entity responsible for helping victims of natural disasters, skips your house and situation because they do not like the political sign or flag on your property. Another government fail, just one of many that occur everyday.
2)We have never had a high opinion of the vast majority of people in the American political class. They have denigrated our political processes into a very expensive waste of political campaign spending, an obscene amount of money being spent to get into elected office. And apparently Kamala Harris has taken this wasteful spending facet to epic heights:
Her campaign spent an amazing $1,000,000,000 in three short months from the time she became the party’s candidate until election day.
Not only did she spend $1 billion but she overran her budget by about $20 million and owes that amount to any number of vendors and businesses.
She paid Oprah Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, an astounding $1 million for setting up a songle town hall meeting between Oprah and Kamala.
Oprah has claimed that she did not receive a single penny from the Harris campaign but still, her production company got $1 million for setting up one meeting, a ridiculous amount of money for such a task.
The campaign also paid out millions of dollars for liberal minded musicians to hold get out the vote concerts, investments that obviously did not work since Harris got slammed on election day.
Obviously this is not my money and she and her campaign managers can spend their campaign donations anyway they want. The bigger picture is how money infested our politics have become: one billion dollars spent in three months for a losing cause.
Just as an aside:
Those one billion dollars could have been used for about 340,000,000 meals for homeless Americans.
There are about 600,000 homeless Americans in the country today.
Those 340,000,000 meals could have provided about 560 meals for each homeless American,
Thus, those one billion dollars could have theoretically fed every homeless American three meals a day for six months.
That is how screwed up the political class priorities are today.
3)We have often discussed the horror that has happened as a result of Biden’s failed immigration policies, failed policies that have resulted in criminal, gang, and drug cartel people flooding into the country over the southern border. This flood has resulted in violent actions of murder, rape and robberies being perpetrated against innocent Americans.
But apparently, the horror of his failed immigration policies are not confined to the southern border;
Border Patrol Agent in Vermont, Erik Lavallee, recently told reporters that human smuggling of illegal immigrants along the northern border is still rampant and steady.
While 7,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the northern border in 2023, over 19,000 were apprehended in fiscal 2024.
Lavallee told CBS news: "We have multiple identified transnational criminal organizations that are transporting people away from the border."
He cited a specific example where Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a terrorist Pakistani living in Canada, had reached out to a smuggling organization to smuggle him into our country, an effort that fortunately resulted in his arrest.
He is one of over 300 suspected terrorists on the terrorism watch list that were arrested at the northern border in 2024.
The obvious question is if over 300 suspected terrorists were arrested at the northern border, how many suspected terrorists actually made it into the country?
Other illegal immigration problems at the northern border include the smuggling of weapons, flora and fauna, and gang members into the country.
Thus, Biden’s failed border security failures are not confined to the southern border.
4)Every American is entitled to their opinion on every subject under the sun including their political leanings and affiliations. This has made the country home to the freest citizens in the history of humanity. But apparently this principle of freedom has not gotten through to the New York Governor Kathy Hochul:
Hochul, speaking on an MSNBC show, said that voting for Republicans, especially in her home state of New York, is un-American.
Specifically: “It gave me a chance to tie the Republicans running in these seats, the incumbents, closer to Donald Trump, remind everybody, if you’re voting for these Republicans in New York, you are voting for someone who supports Donald Trump and you’re anti-woman, you’re anti-abortion, and basically you’re anti-American.”
A pretty disgusting summation of half of the citizens living in her state. Disagree with my views, then you are un-American. Disagree with me then you are anti-woman. She is supposed to represent ALL of the citizens in her state, regardless of their political leanings.
She should be a model of hope and fairness, trying to unite her citizens so that solutions can be found to resolve the issues facing her constituents. Instead, she demeans, debases, and insults her citizens. Such a hateful person to be in such a powerful position, her attitude will not help resolve any problems in the state and eventually will result in citizens leaving for places where they can freely express their opinions without being called un-American or anti-woman.
That will do it for today: a politician who hates half of her citizens, Biden’s immigration policy failures not limited to the southern border, Harris spends big but still loses big, and FEMA discriminates against American taxpayers based solely on their political views.
