Obama's Creation of the Imperial Presidency and Why Karma is a Bitch

To anyone out there who is an Obama lover and Trump hater, please understand that I write the following from a position of sympathy for your feelings. As you read the following, keep in mind that I did not vote for Trump and have never voted for a Republican for President in my life. 

First, I respectfully suggest that you read the following article. “Thanks, Liberals! You Applauded Obama’s Imperial Presidency, and Now We’ve Got Trump Rex” from the Daily Beast website on how Obama has created an “imperial Presidency:”

The first two paragraphs of the article get the message across quite clearly:

"On Jan. 20, Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United States. Along with the nation’s nuclear codes, he will be gifted presidential powers that have been vastly increased by Barack Obama.

Thanks a lot, liberals. It’s all well and good that Joe Biden is now lecturing us that “the worst sin of all is the abuse of power,” but where the hell was he—and where were you—for the past eight years, when the president was starting wars without Congressional authorization, passing major legislation with zero votes from the opposing party, and ruling almost exclusively through executive orders and actions?"

And while I do respect your feelings and opinions, this is why I do not share your anguish with the election of Donald Trump: you were likely partially responsible for his election while you ignored the opinions and feelings of tens of millions of Americans, your relatives, your neighbors and your co-workers, over the past eight years:

- Please do not come crying to me the first time you think that Trump has trampled on your First and Fourth Amendment rights, you were likely silent when Obama was trampling our First and Fourth Amendment rights over the past eight years.

- Please do not look for support from me when Trump violates any number of specific Constitutional principles and articles, you were likely silent when Obama was shredding the Constitution over the past eight years.

- Please do not look for any sympathy from me the first time you think that Trump is ignoring or unilaterally changing existing laws or ignoring court orders and decisions, you were likely silent when Obama was doing the same over the past eight years.

- Please do not try to get me riled up the first time you think that Trump insulted a member of the press, you were likely silent when Obama was investigating and harassing journalists, was prosecuting more whistleblowers than all other Presidents combined, was blocking and stifling record numbers of Freedom of Information requests, etc.

- Please do not expect me to feed your outrage the first time you think that Trump insulted a handicapped person if you were silent when Obama insulted and belittled the entire Special Olympics population.

- Please do not expect me to follow your lead the first time you think Trump has used Federal agencies for political use if you were silent when Obama was politicizing the IRS, the NSA, and other Federal agencies for his political purposes.

- Please do not look for my shoulder to cry on the first time you think Trump illegally and un-Constitutionally sends our military forces into battle, you were likely silent when Obama dropped over 25,000 bombs and missiles in 2016 on seven different countries without Constitutional, legal, or Congressional approval, likely killing dozens if not hundreds of innocent civilians and kids, again, just in 2016.

- Please do not look for agreement from me the first time Trump decides to rule by executive orders since you were likely silent when Obama was doing it himself over the past eight years whenever, like a spoiled two year old, he did not get his way from the legislative process.

- Please do not look for support from me the first time Trump calls you a bad name, you were likely as silent as Obama when Democrats and liberals called millions of Americans Nazis, racists, Klan members, knuckle dragging Neanderthals, and deplorables for simply having a difference of opinion with Obama’s policies over the past eight years.

- Please do not look to me to dry your tears the first time you think Trump has said something sexist and disgusting, you were likely as silent as Obama when Democrats and liberals called Republican and conservative women, sluts, whores, and other female body parts that are too disgusting to mention here or when a major magazine published an article that listed out how and why ten leading Republican and conservative women needed to be hate raped.

If you who stood silently, or possibly applauded, as Obama and his narcissism blazed the trail for an imperial Presidency, where existing laws, the Constitution, court rulings, and civility were merely suggestions, then please remember my rant and this article. Because you helped Obama pave the imperial Presidency road and as a result of your silence and Obama’s ego, Donald Trump now has Obama’s road map and the keys to the imperial Presidency car. Karma is a bitch.
