Today and for all of the insanity posts this month, let’s start off with a welcome piece of honest political dialog. It comes from a State Department spokesperson. Mark Toner, who is about to start the daily State Department press briefing. In a joking matter, he makes the following quote: "Welcome to the State Department. I think we have some interns in the back. Welcome. Good to see you in this exercise in transparency and democracy."
He then burst out laughing at his own quote, indicating he also knew what a joke the Obama administration has been, especially Mr. Toner’s State Department, when it comes to cover ups, lack of transparency, denial of Freedom of Information Act requests, the prosecution of whistleblowers, etc. But at least it was a little refreshing to finally hear some actual honesty out of Washington as we see from the actual clip of the news conference:
With that context of honesty, let’s see what other insanity has been going down:
Nothing says political class insanity more than anything that Nancy Pelosi says. This is the long term Congresswoman who basically said in the past that:
- “500 million Americans are applying for first time unemployment benefits every week.” - this despite the fact that there are only about 315 million people in the country including kids and infants.
- “We have to pass the [Obama Care] legislation to see what is in it.” - yeah, why should a member of Congress read a piece of legislation BEFORE they vote to enact it.
One of the scarier things about her latest remarks is that she seems to be more and more disconnected from reality. Rather than just stupid stuff she has turned nastier and more of a ranting madwoman than in the past. And this should scare every American since she is a leading force in Congress who as you will see has become more and more disconnected and vindictive in her statements.
As you review her latest crazy outbursts keep in mind that she has been in Congress for decades. So when she accuses others of not believing in Federal funding of education or cutting the budget of non-essential expenses and functions, keep in mind that she was present when the Department of Education spent over a trillion dollars over the years but continually under educated our kids during her tenure.
She was present and active participant in the Federal government ringing up a $20 TRILLION national debt. In fact, I was her I would keep my mouth shut since Pelosi was present and in the midst of every disaster the Federal government has generated over the past several decades so why she would want to draw attention to her failings is beyond me.
So what have been the latest rants and ravings from Ms. Pelosi:
1) One thing one would want from adults in any serious conversation is respect because calling people names is both immature and not conducive to resolving issues. This should be especially true that name calling of fellow Congressional members probably is also not conducive to mature conversations about the issues.
Pelosi recently called a fellow Congressional member, Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, “bizarre:” “I have a long experience in the intelligence committee — served with Republican and Democratic chairmen. I’ve been the top Democrat there myself. I’ve never seen behavior this bizarre on the part of the chairman.”
Nice way to win friends, influence people and build consensus in the Congress for helping out Americans, call your political opponents “bizarre.” The same person who said 500 million Americans were applying for first time unemployment benefits every week really does not have a basis to call anyone else “bizarre.”
We will be providing the video clip of Pelosi’s comments for much of rants below. Please take the time to view her actually speaking those words and then ask yourself how scared you are that someone so disconnected from reality can be in charge of so much Congressional influence. Be scared, be very scared.
2) I always find it funny when the political class eats their own, as witnessed when Pelosi was speaking back in her home, very liberal state of California and she lost control of the audience because even she was not not liberal enough for her constituents, which is very scary in itself. The following were her comments as she tried to maintain control, and failed, to get her point across to her own fellow liberals:
“Again, protesters erupted with inaudible remarks. At that point, Pelosi was clearly perturbed: “Yes, yes, yes. Do you want to listen or do just want to speak?…We tried to mitigate by not getting single payer or public option by putting as many benefits in the bill as possible and one of them — listen up — is catastrophic coverage.””
Again, her disconnected comments can be viewed at the following video link:
3) Consider the following disconnected speech Pelosi recently gave to the Jewish advocacy group AIPAC. In less than a minute, Pelosi twice lamely asked who in the audience was from her home state of California
“Don’t be shy,” she said, acknowledging the attendees.
She then awkwardly tried to get the speech attendees to clap for her grandfather and grandchildren: “Before I was even born, my father was in the Congress, Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr. He was a — okay, let’s hear it for dad,” she said with a laugh when no one clapped. Her request was met with a smattering of applause.
Moments later, she said, “And I do have to boast of my Jewish grandchildren. I think I have the most of anyone in Congress, I’m not quite sure, but they’re adorable, you might expect me to say. Let’s hear it for my grandchildren."
She then tried to make an important point about Israel which she promptly botched, confusing millennia, a time frame, reference, and millennials, a population reference: “The United States of America, an idea now centuries old. The modern state of Israel: Young in age, but the dream of millennials — millennia.”
She then did one further screw up in a speech filled with screw ups relative Palestine: “… two states for two peoples, a Jewish state, Israel. And an Arab state, Palenstine.” There is only on”n” in Palestine, not two.
4) Apparently Pelosi calling Nunes “bizarre” was enough for her. Shortly after that insult, she took another low blow to a fellow Congressional member by insulting Nunes again: “By being a stooge of the president of the United States he has demonstrated very clearly that there is no way there can be an impartial investigation under his leadership on that committee.”
Yes, calling someone a “stooge” is sure to get things accomplished and encourage cooperation. Her latest insult can be heard at:
5) Although Trump is trying to get out of control Federal spending under control, spending that has caused the national debt to grow to an almost unfathomable $20 TRILLION, a debt load that was mostly created while Pelosi was in Congress.
Now, as Trump tries to cleanup this wasteful spending, Pelosi becomes a critic of such a valuable objective. “More than $9 billion cut from education,” Pelosi told reporters.
“Now remember this: Nothing brings more money to the treasury than investment in education. So when Republicans say ‘We need to reduce the deficit and therefore we must cut education,’ that is a stupid economy because, again, nothing,” she said, pausing briefly before the memorized talking point kicked in, and continuing, “brings more money to the treasury to reduce the deficit than the education of the American people.”
Which brings us to another favorite Pelosi trait: making up reality to fit her distorted view of reality. How does she know or prove the statement, “Nothing brings more money to the treasury than investment in education.” I can guarantee that there is no statistical or empirical evidence to support her claim. She has done that in the past, making up facts and realities that have no sound underlying basis.

“That is stupid economy.” What does even mean, what kind of English grammar is that? She is out of control and ranting so much that she is starting to make no sense from both a logic and grammar perspective.
She finished off her latest rant with this rambling run on sentence: “Our mission is about the future, it’s about the future and that future demands that we invest in education, in health, in health and well being of the American people, and our families, for our children, our children, our children,” she said.
View her incoherence at the following video link:
6) And finally, we would have been done with Pelosi and her nonsense if HIllary Clinton had won the election. But she decided to stick around because: “’If Hillary had won, I was ready to go home,’ she told reporters, explaining that she opted to stick around to try to stop Republican efforts to dismantle Obamacare, the massive health care law she played a key role in ramming through Congress. ‘If [Clinton] were there, then I would not worry about that.’
As if protecting Obama Care was a good reason to exist. As any reader of this blog realizes that every month we show how Obama Care was the worst piece of legislation ever passed. For anyone who denies this assertion, please go to the following website to see the tragedies and crises caused millions of Americans across the country:
That will do it for the latest political class insanity from Nancy Pelosi. It continues to haunt me that at one time in the not too distance past, she was two heartbeats away from President of the United States. I thank the Lord that never happened, given her state of mind and insanity as of today.
