Never Ending Government Corruption, Part 1

Far too  often  we have had to review the rampant corruption and  criminal activity that always seems to permeate current government programs.  The American political class is great at putting forth expensive, taxpayer funded programs and horrible when it comes to making sure those programs are efficient, effective,  and criminal  infestation free.

Unfortunately, these politicians have not gotten any better at doing their job as the following tremendous waste of taxpayer examples prove:

1)The Minneapolis area over the past years has become a settling point for many, many native Somalisians, many who came into this country legally and many who are illegal immigrants. Unfortunately, a number of them have found ways to defraud Federal  government programs and enrich themselves and those back in their home country, all at the expense of the American taxpayer.

The current uncovering of fraud and criminal activity in a government programs in Minnesota has apparently shown the reality that this Somali organized crime effort has already billed falsely and  criminally over a billions dollars of taxpayer  funds for themselves:

  • Dr. Mehmet Oz, the director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, has given Minnesota governor,  Tim Walz, a 60 day deadline to fix what the good governor allowed to be broken in his state, the pilfering of a billion dollars by Somalisians living in his state.

  • Failure to do so would result in the cutting of Federal  taxpayer funding to his state for Medicare and Medicaid programs.

  • According to Oz: “This is a clear dereliction of duty. Everyone from Gov. Tim Walz on down needs to be investigated, because they’ve been asleep at the wheel.”

  • The Somali criminals exploited two government programs, the Housing Stabilization Services program, which assists disabled homeless folks, and the Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention Program which was supposed to help families with autistic kids.

  • Two worthy objectives in theory and horrible execution of those programs and their objectives.

  • Although narrowly focused and supposed to  cost taxpayers $2.6 million a year, the housing program somehow paid out over $100 million last year.

  • Apparently, someone in  the government failed to realize that the program was about 40 times over budget.

  • The criminal scammers used the stolen taxpayer funds to buy high end cars, overseas real estate, and offered  kickbacks to parents who enrolled children into fake treatment centers, centers which were  established for the sole purpose of submitting bills to be reimbursed.

  • And it is quite possible that some of those stolen funds were funneled to an international terrorist group, Al-Shabaab, a possibility that is now under active investigation by the Federal government.

  • Oz is demanding that Walz and the state government  provide weekly fraud updates, freeze high risk provider enrollment for at least six months,  verify all  current providers, and submit a remedy plan to fix what Minnesota government officials have  obviously failed to  do.

Of all the incompetence we have highlighted over the years, this has to be right at the top of the list. Government programs with no oversight, no auditing, and no budget tracking since a budget overrun of 40 times apparently is no big deal. American taxpayers are working hard and paying taxes and Walz and those under his command allowed criminals, freeloaders and terrorists to live the easy life off of their incompetence and  the American taxpayer.

To understand their fraud in  human terms consider the following simple math example:

  • According to Feeding America, on average it costs just under $3.00 to provide a nutritious meal to a homeless American.

  • At last count there were about 770,000 homeless Americans in the country.

  • These two programs in  Minnesota alone wasted a billion dollars.

  • If we divide the billion dollars by $3.00 then theoretically that billion dollars could have provided over 330,000,000 million meals to homeless Americans.

  • If we divide those 330,000,000 meals by 770,000 homeless Americans, just this wasteful spending experience in Minnesota  could have provided  almost 430 meals for EACH of those homeless Americans or at three meals a day have fed them for almost five months.

Instead,  some Somalisians in Minnesota now own high end  cars and real estate across the  globe. That is the human cost to Americans, beyond the financial cost.

2)And the Minnesota corruption looks worse when you consider this reality:

  • A recently uncovered photograph of Minnesota Governor Walz shows him and a Somali member of Congress from Minnesota, Ilhan Omar, in the company of Abdul Dahir Ibrahim.

  • What makes this photo embarrassing for Walz and Omar is the reality that Ibrahim is an illegal Somali immigrant and has a history of criminal fraud convictions, not accusations, convictions.

  • He was previously found guilty of asylum and welfare fraud in Canada and yet somehow still  made it into the U.S.

  • He has been illegally in this country since 2004 during which time has amassed numerous traffic and  parking violations as reported by the New York  Post.

  • But this association with the political leaders should not be  a surprise since two of the Somali scammers have close ties to Omar.

  • Salim Ahmed Said hosted Omar’s 2018 victory party at his restaurant and Guhaad Hashi Said worked for Omar’s campaign.

  • Salim was convicted on 21 criminal counts back  in March that included wire fraud, bribery, and  money laundering.

  • Guhaad pleaded guilt in August because he falsely claimed to serve 5,000 meals a day to needy local families, picketing $3.2 million in taxpayer wealth in the process.

  • When Omar was questioned about this mess by CNN, she provided a great but incoherent Kamala Harris word salad non-answer:   "I think what happened, um, is that, you know, when you have these, kind of new programs that are, um, designed to help people, you're oftentimes relying on third parties to be able to facilitate. And I just think that a lot of the COVID programs that were set up — they were set up so quickly that a lot of the guardrails did not get created."

Did Walz and  Omra know about the massive fraud and did nothing or were they that ignorant of what was going on? In  any case, another example of less than intelligent and  competent politicians.

3)But it is not just illegal immigrants that are corrupt and try to get rich off of the American taxpayer, sometimes it is simply a current or former employee of the Federal government that is criminally corrupt:

  • In the Obama  administration, Paul Campo was once the DEA chief financial  officer.

  • Keep in mind that as an employee within the Drug Enforcement Agency, his job and the  jobs of his coworkers was to protect Americans from the violence and addiction being put forth by drug cartels

  • However, he was recently criminally charged with allegedly helping  launder over $12 million of drug cartel profits using crypto and real  estate, all of which happened  after his government  retirement in  2016.

  • Federal law enforcement said his insider knowledge of how the DEA operates was very valuable in helping the cartels.

  • He is charged with  allegedly helping  out the Mexican drug cartel, de Jalisco.

  • He has been  charged along with a co-defendant, Robert Sensi, who hyped Canpo’s DEA background as someone who could “clean” cartel profits,

  • Cartel drug  sales cash was converted into cryptocurrency which was then directed into real estate deals.

  • According to the arrest research, both defendants advised the cartels on fentanyl production methods, weapons procurement, drone tactics and how to avoid DEA enforcement procedures, procedures that Campo helped design and  implement.

How sad is this criminal effort, a once highly paid government official found it better  morally to help drug cartels sell their poison to Americans, of which over 100,000 die from that poison every year.

Enough corruption for today: politicians hanging out with criminal illegal  immigrants, a high ranking, trusted government anti-drug official allegedly helping drug cartels, and massive illegal immigration theft of taxpayer funds in Minnesota. And it does not end there since we will discuss even more government corruption in subsequent posts.

June, 2024, Part 3, By The Numbers: Failed Homeless Help In Portland, Drug Cartels Laundering Money In LA, $35 TRILLION In Debt and More

On a periodic basis we do some posts that fall under the theme of by the numbers. Rather than trust what the American politician tells us about reality, we like to examine the real numbers and the real reality in the world to understand what is actually going on. Relying on politicians, and their cohorts in the media, to tell us what is reality is always a sucker bet. They have their own agendas and goals, usually centering around their needs and self-enrichment. So we need to look at the reality of the numbers to determine what is really going on.

Previous analyses of by the numbers can be accessed by entering the phrase in the search box above. We look at the numbers to truly find out how good, not likely, or bad, most likely, the American political class is doing in managing our tax dollars, protecting our freedoms, and resolving major issues that affect all of us.

1)One of the least discussed but biggest crises facing the country, a crisis that will crash our economy and squash our freedoms, is the ever growing Federal  government national debt, which is quickly approaching an astonishing $35,000,000,000,000. And things are not getting any better:

  • According to the Congressional Budget Office, this year’s Federal budget deficit is $400 billion higher than it was estimated to be just four months ago in February.

  • That is a 27% increase since February.

  • The national debt is expected to rise from 99% of the country’s GDP to 122% of GDP by 2034, the highest it has ever been in the country’s history.

  • Remember, that the fast approaching $35,000,000,000,000 national  debt means that every man, woman and child would have to write a check for over $100,000 to pay off the debt, an obvious impossibility.

These are the scariest numbers facing the country right now, no debate necessary. And yet, NOBODY in Washington has the guts, the brains, and the nerve to do anything about it.

2)Given the $35 trillion national debt that the Federal  government has dug for itself, consider just one example of how we got to this horrendous number and really have nothing to show for it:

  • In 2021, early in Biden’s term, he and Congress set aside $42,500,000,000 to expand high speed internet access to every American.

  • Sadly and pathetically, three and a half years later the FCC commissioner, Brendan Carr, testified to Congress that exactly 0 people have been connected as a result of this program.

  • He also reported that 0 people will likely see the benefit of this program since plans for this effort will not be completed until 2025 at the earliest.

According to the commissioner, money from the program has been spent but not spent on the original intent  of the budget authorization. Out of control spending with  zero tangible benefits after 3 years.

3)One of the more  outstanding features of Biden’s failed  immigration policies is that he has often facetiously been tagged as Mexican Drug Cartels’ Employee of the  month, having allowed the cartels free rein to bring in unprecedented amounts of illegal drugs into the country via our leaky Biden  borders.

Just one  example of this failure was recently reported in Los Angeles:

  • A 5 year investigation by Federal authorities has found a money laundering scheme involving the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel and  Chinese individuals in  the United States.

  • The 10 count indictment charged these two  groups with  money laundering as it related to drug trafficking  sales worth more than $50 million.

  • 24 individuals were named in  the  indictment.

The good news is that a  drug cartel operation is out of business. The bad news  is  who  knows how many similar types of  money laundering and  drug trafficking  operations are still  going  on, littering our streets with  poisonous drugs and  annual  drug overdose deaths  of over 100,000.

4)One very sad and serious problem that the American political class has created  and  which has shown no ability to  fix is the homelessness problem in this country.  We are by far the richest country to ever exist in history and yet on any one day there are probably  about 600,000 Americans living on the streets, hungry and without shelter.

And much like the city of Seattle that we recently discussed relative to homelessness, the city of Portland and it's politicians also have  a pretty poor, but expensive, track record in  fixing their homeless problem:

  • In 2023, the Portland area of Oregon spent over $530,000,000 to address their wide ranging homeless problem.

  • And yet, despite  spending about half  a billion dollars in one year on the problem, a recent analysis and  report found that the number of homeless in the  area increased a whopping 70%.

  • The number itself was shocking,” confessed John Tapogna, a senior policy advisor at ECOnorthwest, which conducted an analysis of these figures.

  • According to the latest counts, it is  estimated that there are about 7,500 homeless  individuals in the Portland  area living either in emergency shelters or on the streets.

  • If somehow that $530 million of taxpayer  money could have magically been given directly to those 7,500  homeless folks, each  one of them would have received about $71,000 EACH, an amount that would have allowed each  one  of those folks an income  that could have  afforded them living space.

  • Instead, 7,500 are still homeless and  that $530,000,000 is nowhere to be  found.

Spending $500,000,000 of  taxpayer wealth and seeing the problem still  grow by 70% is certainly a major failure and  probably means some politically connected  groups and  individuals are getting quite wealthy off the taxpayers without being  effective. The numbers do not  lie.

Enough  numbers today:  failed homeless problem  solving in Portland, drug cartels  alive and well  in Los Angeles, Biden’s high  speed internet program  fails, and $35,000,000,000,000 in national  debt is closing fast.
