October, 2026, Political Class Insanity, Part 1: Walz Finally Exits A Fraud Infested State Government, Michigan Football Destroys Local Real Estate Market, Government IDs For Bananas and More

We have spent a  lot of blog time recently on trying  to figure out which state or city government will go bankrupt first and the massive amount of criminal fraud that exists within many government programs. However, that does not  mean that other, regular political class insanity has stopped:

1)As readers of this  blog know as followers of  Nick Shirley’s  great work in exposing government  fraud, it seems that the epicenter of government fraud  always leads  back to Minnesota. Dozens and dozens of Minnesota  residents, many of them Somali  immigrants, have already been found guilty or pleaded guilty to defrauding taxpayer funded  government programs.

And this flood of fraud has caused the current  governor, Tim Walz, to not seek  another term as governor. For months he downplayed the reality of the fraud in the state but recently kind  of acknowledged what we all know:

  • He was recently interviewed by the Minnesota Star-Tribune.
  • And after denying there was  massive  fraud going on under his nose during his administration he finally acknowledged that he “should have stopped it  [fraud] sooner.”
  • Specifically, “We didn’t stop them. I accept that. I think there does need to be accountability with that. And part of it is that, yep, that’s with me, I’ll step aside.”

  • He then tried to deflect the massive fraud by referring to supposed other accomplishments such as climate, livability, etc.

  • However, state senator  Julia  Coleman was  not going to let Walz get away with his own self celebration: “We should remember him spending our $18 billion surplus, raising taxes $10 billion, creating an unsustainable budget, letting rioters burn down Minneapolis, hurting our students and businesses with lockdowns and pardoning a child rapist.”

Massive wasting of taxpayer money,  massive fraud, unfettered  rioting,  what a waste of a politician.

2)Speaking  of  a waste of a politician, consider an idiotic remark out of a Michigan candidate for Senate:

  • For background, understand  that the  University of Michigan college football has  been a long running fixture in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

  • There are on average 8 home football games played evey year at their huge on campus stadium.

  • Those football  games create huge economic gains for the businesses in the city and surrounding area when over 100,000 fans go to the games.

  • And yet,  Democratic candidate for Senate from  Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed, thinks that the University of Michigan football  team is bad for  local  housing.

  • Specifically, Michigan football games and their fans make the local housing situation worse: “The problem with that is this: we are a tourist destination. You know why we are a tourist destination? Football Saturdays.  So, there’s a lot of folks who have extra capital to spend, who will use a corporation like Airbnb or Vrbo, will buy a housing unit that should have been affordable or available for somebody like you, and then they take it off the market. Which artificially depresses the supply of housing.”

As with  most political rantings, he apparently provided no data or statistics on  how many housing units are off the market  because of eight football  games a year. And would it be  worth the  lost jobs,  lost tourism dollars, lost economic impact to shut down eight football games a year to free up a minimal number of local housing units?

Also, how bad of an economic decision would it be to purchase  a home worth hundreds of  thousands  of dollars in order to rent it out maybe  eight weekends a year and leave it vacant  for the other 44 weeks?

Which brings  us back to that age old  question: do politicians think we are that stupid when they say idiotic things like this or are they actually that stupid  and ignorant? We may never know.

3)Democrats in Congress have been hell-bent for a long time to pass the SAVE Act, a piece of Federal legislation that would require a government  id to vote. Voting  is possibly the purest expression of freedom in this country and it is now generally known that voting processes corruption is widespread, with the fraud riddled election  of Joe Biden the prime, but not only  example of major voter fraud in this country.

The SAVE Act would be a major step  forward to safeguarding voting process integrity. And the concept is supported by a wide majority of Americans across all  age, sex, and political affiliation sectors.

And yet Democrats continue  to stonewall the effort. But apparently they are alright with  requiring a government  id for far less important government functions:

  • Mayor Zohran Mamdani of New York City wants to  spend  a whopping $70 million  to open only five city government grocery stores in New York City.

  • That concept in  itself could take  up several blog posts but  we can come  back to that insanity inthefuture.

  • The concept  is that a wide  variety of healthy food options would be discounted  30% for city residents  so it would make buying food in the city less  expensive.

  • Given a big discount of 30%, it would seem logical for  non-city residents to  make  a trip  into the city and shop at one of these city grocery stores for the  bargain on  these food  items.

  • But they will  not be able to do so since Mamdani announced that, gasp, you would have to have a  government  issued id to shop in these city stores.

  • Yes, Democrats are vehemently against protecting freedom and  voting process integrity by not requiring an id to vote but are going to require a  government id to buy some bananas.

The hypocrisy is amazing. Bananas  need an id, voting does not  need  an id. Of course, a black market  for  fake supermarket city ids will almost immediately appear which  would allow non-city residents  to get the  30% discount. Also, people  outside of the city will use their city friends’ ids  to shop at one of the  five stores. Insanity.

4)Just as an id to the above  government id  insanity consider other pieces of your life where you  need a government id:

  • To drive a car

  • Visit a doctor

  • Pick up drug prescriptions

  • Travel on a commercial airline

  • Buy a gun

  • Open or close a bank account

  • Get a mortgage or rent an apartment

  • Buy alcohol

  • Buy tobacco

  • Buy medical marijuana

  • Rent a car

  • Rent a hotel room

  • Purchase health insurance

  • Donate blood

  • Get a hunting or fishing license

  • Get married or divorced

  • Get a document notarized

  • And buy bananas at a New York City government supermarket.

And yet democrats think that showing a valid government  id when voting  is racist and not  necessary.

5)One last piece of sad insanity for today:

  • Anthony Fauci was the leading government figure during the  Covid pandemic.

  • He promised us that if we took the untested vaccines he was pushing, the virus would stop with  us, helping to slow down  the spread of the disease, and we would not catch the virus.

  • Of course, time showed none of this was true, probably just about  everyone who  got the vaccine and  the  boosters eventually caught  the disease, some of us more than once.

  • And unfortunately, the virus apparently caused  heart problems and deaths of perfectly normal people,  many of them who were healthy and young  and had no history of heart problems.

  • And now we find out that he secretly had worries about the potential impact the untested vaccines would have on  pregnant women.

  • Text messages  that were  recently uncovered  and released from Fauci’s cellphone shows a discussion with co-workers that fever after  the  second dose “theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.”

  • But in later public  remarks Fauci claimed that there was nothing to worry about when it came to vaccinating pregnant women despite  his previous private conversations to the contrary.

Even if there was no negative link of the vaccine for pregnant women,  that concern, no matter how minor, should have  been made public, allowing couples and pregnant women to decide for themselves on when  and if to take the vaccine.

Given that his other  proclamations now ring hollow, e.g. take the virus and you will not get sick, this hiding of a theoretical cause and effect reinforces the perception that he was more concerned with his image than actual results and scientific analyses. This hiding of concerns and false  declarations now raise doubts in  future  crises of whether or  not Americans are  getting the truth  and  the  whole truth from the federal government.

Okay, enough insanity for today: more Covid  doubts from the government, the Democrats’  hypocrisy on government ids and voting, Michigan  football  games destroying a local real estate market, and an incompetent  governor finally bows out and  the  state is probably better for the  ouster.

April, 2026, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Delaware Facing a Revenue Problem, A Corrupt, Ballot Stuffing Politician In California and Obama Is Still A Hypocrite

We have been spending a lot of time lately dissecting the race to bankruptcy court,  i.e. what state government or city government will go bankrupt first. Many  Democratic states and cities have already entered into financial death spirals as their taxpayer base erodes but the politicians running these cities and states cannot or will not reduce government  spending or make government operations more efficient to cope with the shrinking tax base.

The last two posts on this topic can  be found at the following links:

https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2026/04/the-race-to-bankruptcy-court-proof-that.html

https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2026/04/the-race-to-bankruptcy-court-california.html

However, we will take a break from this bankruptcy race and discuss some good old fashioned political class insanity for the next few posts.

1)One of the most consistent traits of American politicians is their hypocrisy. They act holier than thou but their hypocrisy and selfishness always eventually shines through. Obama recently presented the most current example of that hypocrisy:

  • After the bogus election results of the 2020 Presidential  election process and other voting corruption cases and examples, Republicans in  Congress and Trump have been pushing the SAVE Act legislation.

  • The main point of the proposed legislation is that before someone could vote in an election, they would have  to prove they are a valid American citizen and voter by showing a valid photo government id document.

  • It is a simple and logical requirement so that ballot boxes cannot be  stuffed with bogus votes and voters which is exactly what happened in 2020 and resulted in Biden getting a totally unrealistic and impossible 81,000,000 votes

  • Obama, as an ex-President,  should be seen and not heard, his time in the  spotlight ended ten years ago.

  • But his ego will not let him fade into history and he has been an active and  loud critic of the Save Act.

  • He ridiculously claims that millions of Americans would lose their right and privilege to vote if they had to provide a simple government id at the voting place.

  • But the hypocrisy is that in order to enter his pending Presidential library in Chicago you have to show, wait for it, a valid government photo id.

  • The plan is for Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois state residents to have free access to the library on Tuesdays but to get the free option one would have to  prove they are legal residents of the city, county, or state.

  • Specifically, someone "must be able to provide proof of residency with a valid photo ID, Illinois driver's license, state ID, or city-issued ID."

  • The foundation operating the Presidential Library operation is also conducting a sweepstakes  that offers two free tickets to the grand opening of the  library in June but any potential winner will have to provide a government issued id in order to get the two free tickets.

  • Trump’s press  secretary,  Kayleigh  McEnany, summed up the  hypocrisy quite nicely:  "Why do we have stricter standards for the Obama library than for voting?"

  • But this hypocrisy should not surprise anyone since Obama promised local Chicago residents  would not pay for any aspect of the Obama Presidential library since it would be privately financed.

  • But the bottom line is that the state of Illinois contributed $229 million of  taxpayer money and the city of Chicago contributed over $200 million for road construction and modifications, utility relocations, and drainage improvements.

  • While taxpayer money was used to make the environment possible for his presidential library,  Obama’s library staff has at least seven employees that are earning six figure salaries with the  top executive,  Valerie Jarrett, pulling down over $700,000 a year in  salary.

You must have a government id to enter my library but I oppose having a  government to vote, a vital part of any democracy.  Give me your tax  dollars to make my library possible but I  am going to pay my political  cronies mega salary dollars as employees.

Keep in mind that according to a Pew Research poll, 83% of Americans are in  favor of a government photo id being required for voting. Thus, Obama and Democrats who oppose the Save Act are not operating according to the will of Americans. They are operating under the conception that the looser the voting requirements the easier it will be to replicate the stealing of the 2020 Presidential election.

But do not try to get that free Tuesday admission to the Obama library, that is more important to police and regulate than the next election. Pathetic respect for the integrity of  the voting process.

2)Speaking of  voter fraud, corruption, and  abuse:

  • A former councilman  in  Lodi, California recently pleaded no contest to an extensive election case fraud.

  • This happened when investigators found dozens  of suspicious ballots and voter registrations in his home.

  • Specifically, they found 41 completed mail  in ballots and  about 70  registrations connected only to his address or his own contact information.

  • He pleaded no contest but accepted a conviction and the criminal penalties that come with that situation.

It is sad when it is actually an elected official, or former elected official, that is involved in stuffing and corrupting the ballot box and voting process. More proof that voting procedures need to be tightened up especially when it is the political class doing the corrupting of those procedures.

3)We have  often talked about how we believe that a state government will soon go  bankrupt as their politicians lead them down a financial death spiral. Our top candidates for a state government bankruptcy are New York,  New Jersey, Illinois, and California.

We have  never  discussed the possibility that the tiny state of Delaware could also enter that race but there are some ominous rumblings coming out of that state lately that is resulting in some financial strains:

  • Delaware has long been a favored state of businesses to incorporate in.

  • The state Court of Chancery has long been a respected type of court that businesses favored to be ruled over since they had the best history and personnel to support business financial and  legal  matters.

  • In return for being a state to have  favorable incorporation rules and laws, the state government received significant funding and fees  from  the operation of this court.

  • In fact, it is estimated that the fees that come from the incorporations and related activities come out to about $2.8 billion a year or about 20% of the state government’s annual budget.

  • But over time, this special court began issuing more and more anti-business rulings in the  opinion of many businesses incorporated in the state.

  • And as a result, many businesses have withdrawn from the state and are now doing business in other more business-friendly states.

  • This has resulted in a downward pressure on the revenue that the state government relies on from this court, which, as we stated above, is a whopping 20% of the total state budget.

  • In fact, it is estimated that dozens of businesses have withdrawn their incorporation business out of the state to other, more business-friendly courts in states such as Texas and Nevada.

  • At least 60 companies have left the state to incorporate elsewhere, taking a whopping $3 TRILLION of  market  cap value elsewhere.

  • In a recent week, the companies FirstCash Holdings and GPGI have stated their plans to  withdraw from Delaware.

  • FirstCash is going  to incorporate in Texas and head  out of Delaware and   GPGI is leaving Delaware and heading to Nevada.

  • Other companies that have already left Delaware include Tesla, SpaceX, Coinbase, Dillards, the Simon Property Group and dozens of  other companies.

  • Other companies are bypassing the state altogether such as Exxon MObil which is moving out of New Jersey and reincorporating in Texas,  bypassing Delaware altogether.

  • At least seven other major companies are holding shareholder votes to leave Delaware for other states.

  • Famed lawyer and Harvard professor emeritus has called Delaware’s judiciary “one of the  most corrupt in  the nation," hardly a ringing endorsement.

  • "Delaware's once-esteemed Court of Chancery is increasingly viewed by corporate leaders as unpredictable, with rulings that introduce uncertainty into routine business decisions and open the door for enterprising trial attorneys to file lucrative lawsuits," according tp Karen Harned, a former executive director of the National Federation of Independent Business Small Business Legal Center, recently wrote in DelawareOnline.com.

Interesting developments: could the Delaware state government start into a financial death spiral like the four states  listed above but for a different reason: their steady, major funding from  the state’s Court of Chancery continues to dwindle as companies move their business dealings out of the state much like businesses are physically moving their businesses out of New York, New Jersey,  Illinois, and California for better tax and regulation reasons.

Will Delaware politicians do the right thing and streamline and reduce government  operations to deal  with the reduced tax revenue? Or will  they take the easier, more cowardly strategy to just raise other tax rates to fund their now bloated and at risk government budgets? Who knows, maybe Delaware enters the race to bankruptcy court with the bigger states listed above.

Enough insanity for now: Delaware state government also now faces a dwindling tax revenue stream, Obama is still a hypocrite, and a California politician allegedly stuffed the ballot box and is going to jail for possibly doing so.
