One of the primary functions of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of those that the government serves. This tenet involves law enforcement and judicial processes. During the Biden administration, this concept was weaponized, politicized, and corrupted as he used government resources to harass and go after political opponents, pro life groups, pro Second Amendment groups, and any other person or entity that was contrary to his beliefs while run of the mill crime and corruption was allowed to flourish.
Fortunately, with the Trump administration, those government resources, e.g. the Justice Department, FBI, etc. have been refocused on fighting real criminal enterprises and not just political opponents:
1)The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement has been around for a decade or so but it’s impact and name skyrocketed as a result of the racial protests and riots in Minnesota after Geroge Floyd was killed while in police custody. Their supposed mission is to help black lives have better lives. They have been very good at gathering donations and money from any number of organizations, companies and individuals to supposedly fulfill this mission.
But as we have discussed many times, there have been a number of criminal and fraudulent incidents involving the Black Lives Matter movement and their finances. And that train of problems is under renewed Justice Department scrutiny:
The Justice Department has a new investigation underway to determine if Black Lives Matter folks defrauded donors of the dollars that were contributed in good faith to their cause.
Federal subpoenas have been issued against the BLM Global Network Foundation and several other BLM organizations.
Given that the BLM movement has taken in over $90 million over the past several years, the potential for abuse is certainly a possibility, given the organization's lack of financial transparency of its finances.
The organization is obviously innocent until proven guilty. And I hope they are innocent, given what they are supposed to be doing to help black people across the country. But this is an example of what the likes of the Justice Department should be doing, investigating potential law breakers, not harassing political opponents who broke no laws.
2)The governor of Massachusetts has an embarrassing situation on her hands relative to a state government employee:
Up until recently, LaMar Cook was a staff member on Massachusetts governor Maura Healey’s staff.
He was recently arrested as a result of allegedly waiting for the delivery of cocaine shipments at his government office.
After his arrest he was charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The intercepted cocaine shipments involved over 45 pounds of cocaine.
Another nice example of the government executing its law enforcement powers over alleged criminality, not political opponents.
3)And with Biden out of the White House, the Federal government is again doing its job of getting illegal immigrant murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, criminal gang members and child sex predators off the streets of the country:
In a recent operation over 1,400 criminal immigrants were arrested in a short three week span in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts.
More than 600 of those arrested already had convictions for violent crimes.
Some were members of the MS-13, Tren de Aragua, and the 18th international criminal gangs.
Those arrested included a man from El Savador (rape, assault, and battery convictions allegations), a man from India (child prostitution, and assault and battery allegatins), a man from Guatemala (prostituuion conviction allegation on the rape of a child), a man fron El Salvador (seven counts of assault and battery and three counts of child rape allegations), a man from Hondruas (four counts of raping a child, possession of child pornography, and indecent exposure allegations), a man from Laos (second murder and kidnapping allegations), etc.
Several weeks before the Massachusetts operation, the Federal government arrested dozens of illegal immigrants with previous criminal convictions in Connecticut.
Those in Connecticut were charged or had previous convictions on drug offenses, weapons offenses, and sex crimes.
Fortunately, with the Federal government finally doing its job, taxpayer money is being used correctly to remove dangerous illegal immigrants from our streets and towns, a basic function of any government entity, something that was ignored under Biden.
4)And the Federal government has recently shown that it is not afraid of cracking down on high profile individuals in society:
The FBI recently arrested several famous sports figures associated with the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Those arrested included current Portland Trailblazer coach Chauncy Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former NBA player and coach Damon Jones.
They were arrested as part of a broader FBI effort to crack down on illegal gambling and sports betting.
These sports stars are also allegedly linked to Mafia crime family corruption and illegalities.
As always, everyone is considered innocent until proven guilty. But again, it is nice to see taxpayer funded FBI resources being used to reduce actual crime and not harassing political opponents, something that happened way too often under Biden.
