October, 2021, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: Biden Fails To Pay Taxes, A State Senator Gets Convicted, and a Federal Judge Refuses To Recuse Himself...138 Times

Before we get to today’s insanity, please consider the following proposition: as many of you know, the withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a historic and fatal endeavor. But the failure did not start just in the past few weeks, it has been a twenty year disaster. It has cost American taxpayers about a trillion dollars, has left thousands of our brave armed forces folks dead, maimed, or wounded and has resulted in an unknown but substantial number of civilian deaths.

Afghanistan has been a collective failure of multiple Presidential administrations and multiple sessions of Congress. Thus, please consider signing the petition below that calls for the immediate resignation of every member of Congress that has at least twenty years of service and the resignation of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and critical, and failed, members of the Biden Administration. They do not deserve to serve any longer given their miserable twenty year track record of death, destruction and waste in Afghanistan.

Also, if you are passionate about this topic and effort, feel free to pass the link along to others who might also feel the same way, i.e. incompetence should not be rewarded:

Biden and others need to resign for dereliction of duty, incompetence and total lack of empathy. Nothing short of resignation is acceptable. Thank you.

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) Biden, like most liberal politicians, is always falsely stating that rich people in this country do not pay enough in taxes. They persist in this false and selfish lie even though the richest people in this country pay far more in taxes in total monetary value and as a percentage of income than the vast, vast majority of Americans.

Well, as with most other politicians, Biden might be a gigantic hypocrite when he says richer people, including politicians, should pay more in taxes:
  • According to a new government report by the Congressional Research Service, Biden may owe up to half a million dollars in taxes he never paid.
  • The accusation is that Biden avoided paying Medicare taxes for a while before he became President.
  • According to the report, Biden may fall into “cases in which the IRS won a judgment against taxpayers who paid themselves suspiciously low salaries from S corporations and counted most of the revenue as ‘distributions’ exempt from the Medicare tax.”
  • The Congressman who asked for the analysis says the report found that “Biden improperly used ‘S corporations’ to avoid paying Medicare tax on speaking fees and book sales in 2017 and 2018.”
  • He and his wife raked in an incredible $13 million in 2017 and 2018 in speaking fees but counted less $800,000 of that $13 million as salaries, which are subject to Medicare tax.
  • But the remaining $12+ million was not counted as salaries which exempted them from the 3.8% Medicare tax.
  • A Wall Street Journal report from 2019, “Joe Biden Used Tax-Code Loophole Obama Tried to Plug,” stated, “Mr. Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, routed their book and speech income through S corporations, according to tax returns the couple released this week. They paid income taxes on those profits, but the strategy let the couple avoid the 3.8% self-employment tax they would have paid had they been compensated directly instead of through the S corporations.”
  • Biden’s blatant hypocrisy on taxes was evident in a recent Tweet: “I’m sick and tired of the super-wealthy and giant corporations not paying their fair share in taxes. It’s time for it to change.
Another political class example, “do as I say, not as I do.” So, when and if the new Biden tax plan that would tax you for every mile you drive your car takes effect, remember that Biden and his wife conveniently got away with not paying taxes on over $12 million in taxable income while you are paying taxes on every mile you drive.

2) So Biden may have skipped out on millions of taxes, but other politicians try to get their wealth in other ways:
  • State Senator, Katrina Robinson, of Tennessee, has been convicted on Federal fraud charges.
  • She was found guilty in four out of five counts of wire fraud in Federal court.
  • She had been accused of using Federal money to pay for her wedding and other personal expenses.
  • She could face up to 20 years in prison for misusing $600,000 of Federal money.
  • She still maintains her innocence and refuses to resign from her elected position despite having been convicted, not arrested, not put on trial, convicted.
Corruption comes in all sizes and forms when it comes to political greed.

3) So we just saw corruption at the highest level of the Federal government via Biden, corruption at the state government level in Tennessee, and now let’s talk about corruption in the judicial system:
  • According to a Wall Street Journal report, a Federal judge in Texas has repeatedly violated judicial ethics standards since Obama appointed him to the bench.
  • Judge Rodney Gilstrap has failed to disqualify himself from 138 cases in just the past year in which he or a family member had a definite financial interest relative to a company involved in those cases.
  • If true, the judge is violating a Federal 1974 law that bans such behavior.
  • While the Journal’s analysis found a whopping 131 judges likely committed the same violation, Gilstrap was involved in about 20% of the 658 cases the Journal uncovered, far more than expected relative to the whole group.
  • In one case, he ruled in favor of the Disney corporation even though he and his wife held between $100,000 and $250,000 in Disney stock.
  • Although Gilstrap has said there is nothing wrong with him ruling in cases where he has a financial interest, Stephen Gillers, a New York University law professor, begs to differ: “The judge must recuse if the trust for the spouse has even one share of stock in a party. It does not matter that the spouse or child have no say in the investment choices.”
  • Ben Johnson, a law professor at Pennsylvania State University, agreed.“He would have to recuse.
Another day, three more ways that those in the political class, Federal, state, or judicial find a way to enrich themselves in ways that violate the spirit or the letter of the law. The corruption is widespread, deep, and disgusting.
