Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)We have often spoken about the immense failure of Biden’s immigration policies and actions. This failure has resulted in untold millions of unvetted and unvaccinated, and possibly terrorist-related, illegal immigrants flooding into the country, along with massive amounts of illegal drugs such as fentanyl. This flood has resulted in the following downsides for American citizens:
City budgets and services have been slashed, to the detriment of city residents, in order to feed, clothe, house, and medically treat illegal immigrants that have flooded into the cities.
Crime rates including homicide, rapes, and robbery have skyrocketed as a result of the flood of illegal immigrants.
Drug addiction and related problems have escalated with the ample supply of illegal drugs
The situation has also exposed the blatant hypocrisy of many liberal city and state politicians regarding their historic and sanctimonious proclamation that they were so-call “sanctuary cities” and “sanctuary states.” For years they had loudly proclaimed that illegal immigrants were welcome in their cities and states and would be taken care of.
However, now that their cities and states are being overwhelmed by these illegal immigrants, they howl for help despite having bragged about their humanity for years. They now have to cut budgets and services (police, fire, education, EMT) for their citizens to handle their share of illegal immigrants.They asked for this situation, they got it, and now their hypocrisy is astounding. Big cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, historic “sanctuary cities,” are faced with the dire reality that they asked for.
But the problem is not just related to the biggest cities in the country:
The city politicians of Denver have long bragged about being a sanctuary city.
Denver mayor, Mike Johnston, now finds that his sanctuary city is facing the same problems that other sanctuary cities are dealing with.
He recently claimed that on a percentage basis, his sanctuary city is “ground zero” for the overflowing number of illegal immigrants entering the country.
He claimed that his city has become the home and responsibility for over 35,000 illegal immigrants.
And as a result of his sanctuary city status and boast, he claims that the city government may have to make “historic cuts” to city services for Americans to handle the flood of 35,000 illegal immigrants.
Unless Biden somehow gives him billions of American taxpayer money his city budget cuts could be as high as 10%.
Again, gotta love the hypocrisy of these politicians. Boastful about their humanity when there is no pressure on them to fulfill their boasts, they squeal like children when the reality of being a sanctuary city comes true.
They never had a plan, never had the resources to fulfill their boast and as usual, it is the American citizen and taxpayer that gets screwed in the end: higher crime, higher taxes, lower government services. Another political class failure.
2)Continuing on with the Denver sanctuary city/illegal immigrant problem, consider a real life negative fallout of this political stance:
According to the Denver Gazette newspaper, Denver hospitals are reaching a tipping point of financial viability, given the large amount of uncompensated care they provided in 2023.
The amount of uncompensated care was $135 million, a $10 million increase from the previous year.
As a result of this shortfall, according to Dr. Donna Lynne, the CEO of Denver Health, patients are now being turned away from getting care especially as it relates to mental health and substance abuse.
Dr. Steven Federico, the Chief Government and Community Affairs Officer for Denver Health, says the latest crisis has been made much worse as a result of the surge of illegal immigrants getting free medical care in the area hospitals.
He estimates that 8,000 illegal immigrants had made 20,000 visits to his hospital.
Since we know from above there are about 37,000 illegal immigrants in the city, this translates into about 22% of all illegal immigrants in the city getting free health care in 2023.
These illegal immigrants generally do not have health insurance, no surprise there, which means that Denver Health and others have to pick up the cost of their care, as stated by Dr. taylor mcCormick, the Associate Director of pediatrics Emergency Medicine: "There will come a point where the numbers make this extremely difficult. To a certain extent, we are already beyond the breaking point."
Look, no one is saying a human being in need of medical care should be turned away from getting it in this country. But this is just another example where sanctimonious and boastful politicians are destroying the quality of life of American citizens, in this case reducing their medical care options, because these politicians did not have a plan to back up their boasts of being a sanctuary city.
3)Back in late 2020, we did an in-depth set of posts which showed there were definite voting irregularities and cheating that went on during the 2020 Presidential election, cheating that seriously marred the integrity assumption on the American voting process. These posts provided video, eye witness, and statistical evidence that the election was corrupted in various swing states around the country.
And now, we have another example where voting corruption occurred and, although known, nothing was done about it:
Apparently, GBI is a get out the vote company that was active in Michigan for the 2020 Presidential election.
Brianna Hawkins was employed by them for the election.
She has admitted that she had personally turned in hundreds of fake voter registrations prior to the election.
Hawkins actually confessed to Michigan voting officials that it was impossible for big cities to catch fake voter registration applications, the kind of which she submitted.
Unfortunately, even with the confession of someone who was actually breaking voting laws, Michigan Attorney General, Dana Nessel, took no actions to address this law breaking.
According to the Gateway Pundit website reporting, state police documented that 8,000 to 12,000 suspicious voter registration applications were turned into a SINGLE city town clerk, Muskegon, Michigan.
The clerk, who had much more integrity than the Attorney General, noticed that there were suspicious registrations and notified the police.
Her findings, while turned over to the Attorney General AND the FBI, resulted in no follow up investigations or arrests.
When elections are corrupt, democracy dies but apparently that does not bother officials responsible for maintaining the integrity of our election processes.
4)Back to the illegal immigrant crisis, consider the latest from sanctuary city, New york City:
NYC has probably received more illegal immigrants than any other city in the country, mostly because their politicians have long bragged about being a “sanctuary city.”
The mayor, Eric Adams, has agreed to feed, clothe, shelter and provide medical care to these thousands of illegal immigrants even though there are thousands of hungry, homeless, and medically needy city residents.
The need to cater to these illegal immigrants has caused Adams to slash the budgets of city departments that serve city residents and citizens.
His dedication to having his city be a sanctuary city has resulted in nearly 60% (58%) of city residents now disapproving of his administration.
This is a record high of disapproval.
Only 28% approve of the job Adams is doing as mayor.
Thus, 58% disapproval minus 28% approval puts him 30% under water on the approval scale, almost unprecedentedly poor performance.
Even Joe Biden, who is also experiencing record low approval ratings, is not as bad as Adams.
65% of city Hispanic residents disapprove of Adams’s job performance.
The city under Adams is expecting to need $12 billion in costs to handle the needs of its illegal immigrant population through the end of next year.
The city is currently spending a whopping $10 million a day to handle the illegal immigrants.
And like every other sanctuary city politician, Adams is pleading with Biden to give him $5 billion worth of taxpayer money from around the country to pay for the illegal immigrants.
Again, another liberal politician who bragged about being a holy and worthy sanctuary city advocate but who had absolutely NO plans on how to handle his boast when it came true. And just like in Denver, New York City residents pay the price with higher taxes, lower city services, and increases in violent crime.
5)But it is not just big cities like New York and Denver that are getting crushed with illegal immigrant costs and downsides:
The Washington Examiner reported recently that a Texas county government employee had to take a pay cut to cover the costs of burying and cremating illegal immigrants found in their jurisdiction.
McMullen County, Texas, whose population is a meager 600 residents, is spending half a million dollars a year on their illegal immigration problem.
In Cochise County, Arizona, the illegal immigration problem is costing county taxpayers $4.3 million a year.
Students in Fairfax County, Virginia schools who don’t speak English are costing taxpayers an EXTRA $4,600 per student per year.
Federal government Medicare sources say that illegal immigrants cost American taxpayers an extra $12 billion in the last two fiscal years.
And finally, the House Homeland Security Committee recently released a 49 page research report that estimates that the illegal immigration problem is costing the American taxpayer $451 billion a year.
At $451 billion a year and given there are about 130 million households in the country, simple division shows that if that $451 billion could be diverted to the people who paid for it, the American taxpayer, then each American household would be getting about $3,400 a year.
This is $3,400 that these hard working Americans could use to pay for their families, their health, their retirement, and improve their lives anyway they wanted.
More evidence that Washington, state, county and city politicians care more about illegal immigrants than they do about American citizens who are paying the tab.
Enough for today: a faulty immigration process that robs American taxpayers of their wealth and health and more election corruption, it seems that the American political class screws up everything they touch, from NYC to Denver to Texas to Arizona.
