Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)We have often made the case that Biden is slipping further and further into a state of dementia. We thought it was obvious back in 2020, the election year, and he has continued his descent into dementia since then. He cannot put two thoughts together even with staff coaching, teleprompters or cue cards, often doesn't know where he is or when he is supposed to go, and stumbles through his speeches, often in a jumbled mess.
This was recently obvious when he talked about Ireland and a cathedral that his great grandfather supposedly built [Note: given that Biden has lied about his family too many times to count, this story about his great grandfather is also probably not true either]. Here is how he explained his interaction with the cathedral: “It was made to touch, I was, it was made, and I was able to touch some of my own hands very bricks he made”
This is how the President looks to the world: bumbling, stuttering, incoherent, and probably another lie. As always, we do not blame him, we blame his wife, his family, and political handlers that placed him in such a powerful and stressful position despite his declining cognitive skills. This is worse than political class insanity: this is elder abuse for which they all should have been arrested for.

2)The Washington political class has shown absolutely no ability to operate a fiscally responsible Federal government budget. As a result, we have Presidential administrations like Biden's which run up trillion dollar annual budget deficits which rapidly contribute to a $34,000,000,000,000 national debt.
But the ability of a government to live within its means, i.e. its tax revenue stream, is not restricted to the Federal government. Consider a development in California:
Keep in mind that the current governor, Gavin Newsom, has reigned over a budget process that likely will result in a state government budget deficit of about $68 billion.
Things must be so bad from a budget perspective that Newsom recently had the nerve to postpone his annual state of the state address.
This should have been a regular, traditional governor task, to let the state’s residents know how things are going and any government plans that are being considered.
Instead, he decided to tell no one anything.
Thus, the incompetence of the political class when it comes to operating a fiscally valid government budget likely is not restricted to Washington but probably also extends to Sacramento.
3)One of the very basic tenets of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the citizens it serves. Many times we have pointed out how all levels of government today do not do a good job upholding this basic government function and the latest example is out in Oakland, California:
Crime against people and property in the city has gotten so bad that small businesses there are planning a tax boycott to withhold their tax dollars until the city government and its politicians actually protect them from the criminals that seem to be running wild.
Jose Ortiz, owner of the city’s La Perla Restaurant explained the boycott: "Enough is enough, we're frustrated, so we're not going to pay taxes to the city until they give us what we want."
The manager of Cybell’s Pizza, Nestor Sanchex chimed in: "We're scared for our lives. We're really struggling. Sales have dropped 20%.[because of the violence and crime]"
Given that California has the third highest business taxes in the country, behind only New Jersey and New York, any tax boycott is sure to put a dent in a city’s fiscal condition.
Another failed political class, this time at the city level in Oakland. The failure to execute that basic government function of protecting the lives and property of its citizens.
4)Maura Healey is the governor of Massachusetts. She, like many of those in the northeast political class, have always sanctimoniously claimed that they operated so-call “sanctuary cities” and “sanctuary states.” That was an easy boast when their cities and states were not being overrun with tens of thousands of illegal immigrants
But she and others have a big problem as a result of their views on illegal immigrants:
Massachusetts has a “right to shelter” law which obligates the state government to provide shelter to anyone or any family that needs it.
It also applies to illegal immigrants and that is where the problem comes from.
Given the flocking of thousands of illegal immigrants to her sanctuary state, Healy has had to find more and more taxpayer money to shelter these unexpected “guests.”
This has required the state House of Representatives to approve another $245 million to shelter these illegal immigrants.
Under the legislation, the state politicians are trying to limit to nine months the number of months illegal immigrant families can stay in a government shelter.
The problem is that the current average shelter stay is almost 14 months which means that under the proposed legislation many current shelter residents would have to leave.
But where would they go in order to not violate the new nine month rule?
Add into the equation that there are 700 families already on a waiting list to get into shelters and more illegal immigrants are arriving every day, the good governor and her cronies are getting crushed by the numbers and the legal requirement to provide shelter to EVERYONE including illegal immigrants.
It is a pretty safe assumption that this $245 million use of taxpayer wealth for a lot of illegal immigrants is just another payment, to be followed by more payments, to try to take care of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have flooded into the state as a result of Biden's failed border security policies. The rock is the ever growing population of illegal immigrants in the state and the hard place is the state's law that requires they all get government sheltering.
Another political class failure that will continue to cost the state taxpayers more and more wealth without them getting benefit from the taxes they pay.
That will do it for today’s political class insanity: Biden continues to descend into the depths of dementia, Newsom cannot run a fiscally viable state government, Oakland cannot protect its residents, and Massachusetts politicians are in a death spiral, needing to take care of illegal immigrants with shelter which entices more illegal immigrants to come into the state which requires more sheltering etc.
