We have spent a lot of time lately discussing the violent and sometimes fatal consequences of Biden’s failed immigration policies on American citizens. Let’s take a break from that sad reality and discuss some good old political class insanity:
1)Since the beginning of this blog we have discussed the many ways that American politicians waste taxpayer wealth. But Kamala Harris found a way to not only waste taxpayer money but also did a bang up mob wasting political donor money in her failed run for the Presidency:
It was originally reported that the Harris campaign paid Oprah Winfrey;s production company, Harpo, about $1 million dollars to host a face to face meeting between Winfrey and Harris as a campaign event.
At the time, $1 million sounded a ridiculous amount to pay for a short sit down and discussion with Winfrey.
But the New York Times has reported that the real cost paid out of Harris campaign donations was two and a half times higher or $2.5 million.
And while Winfrey claims she did ot receive a dime of that $2.5 million, it was her production that got paid so you know some of that donor money will eventually find its way to her.
But $2.5 million, while outrageous for what it supposedly bought, is nothing with the big picture since it appears that the Harris campaign spent about $1.5 BILLION of donor money on campaign expenses and events.
Since her campaign ran for 15 weeks, the average cost per week spent on her campaign is a mind boggling $100 million a week.
That comes out, on average, to about $14 million a day.
I can not imagine how anyone or any organization can spend $14 million a day, day after day.
Some of that money was apparently spent on gourmet ice cream ($9,000) and DoorDash and Uber Eats ($15,000).
In just two weeks, $2.6 million was spent on private jet travel and another $900,000 was spent to display her face on the Las Vegas Sphere (FYI: despite the $900,000, Trump won Nevada).
Despite spending $1.5 billion on her failed campaign, she ended up $20 million in the red so there are still unpaid bills that somehow have to be paid.
Given how badly she managed her campaign cash flow and wealth, thank goodness she did not get elected and would have been in charge of managing our taxpayer wealth and taxes. Lord knows how much ice cream she would have bought with the Federal budget at her disposal.
2)For a few weeks now there have supposedly been mysterious drone aircraft sightings over a number of east coast states, with most of the sightings over New Jersey. No one seems to know what these drone sightings are, who is directing them, what their intentions are, etc. In fact are they really real or just misreadings of commercial or private aircraft in the area? These drones do not appear to be store bought, toy drones since most of the sighting witnesses describe being the size of a car or SUV.
This has raised concerns among citizens sitting under these drone sightings along with their politicians. Thus, a number of inquiries from local law enforcement and local politicians have been made of the Biden administration to allay the fears of what these sightings actually are.
The reactions to these inquiries from the Biden folks have been hysterically uninformative:
The Director of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, told everyone not to be worried, the drones are not a danger: “We haven’t seen anything unusual. We know of no threat. We believe that there are cases of mistaken identity where “drones” are actually small aircraft — that people are misidentifying them. There very well may be drones in the sky, of course, but those are commercially available. One can go into a convenience store and buy a small drone. But we know of no threat or nefarious activity.”
Sure, all of a sudden hundreds of people, including military personnel and police officers, are seeing drones over their homes and he says everything is cool, you are not seeing what you are seeing, probably somebody went down to the local 7-11 and bought some drones, that is what people are seeing, nothing to worry about.
Side note: more than one person came up with the satirical response that they went down to their local convenience store but the store was out of SUV sized drones.
His attitude is ridiculous: we do not know what these sightings are but they are nothing to worry about, ridiculous.
John Kirby is the head public relations person for the White House National Security Council and he mimicked Majorkas’s “do not worry attitude”: "We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat, or have a foreign nexus.”
So according to Kirby nothing to worry about, we do not know what these drones are but trust me, they are not a danger, talk about circular reasoning.
Sam Morris is the mayor of Mine Hill Township in New Jersey: "That is ridiculous. I would invite Mr. Kirby to Mine Hill. Come on out, Mr. Kirby, and let's go on out one night at about 9:30, 10:00. Mr. Kirby just called the security people at Picatinny Arsenal liars, the Ocean County Sheriff's Department liars, and the state police in New Jersey liars.”
New Jersey Congressman Brian Bergen had some stronger words in reacting to Kirby’s state of denial: "That guy's an idiot. That I could tell you right now because the colonel of the state police told the members of the state legislature that one of his helicopters was hovering above a 6-foot wide drone and he landed that helicopter because he felt unsafe for his pilots."
New York Congresswoman Nicole Maliotakis was also skeptical of the Federal government response: “There are drones and unmanned aerial systems flying above us and our government is not telling us who’s operating them and for what purpose.”
Great: We do not know what these sightings are. We have no clue. But there’s nothing to worry about, nothing to see regardless of what you see. As we have said so many times before: do these folks think we are that stupid to believe what they tell us or do they actually believe the gaslighting they put us through? This is what we get for our tax dollars: garbage.
Note: Keep in mind that Mayorkas told us a little while ago that the southern border was secure despite the fact that record numbers of un-vetted and unscreened illegal immigrants were flooding in the country along with record tonnage of illegal drugs. He has no credibility after that gaslighting failure.
3)Apparently some folks in the Federal government do not care much about due process, the Constitution, and current laws:
A recent scathing report from the inspector general of the Department of Justice (DOJ) is not kind to the Department's behaviors over the past several years.
An article by the Federalist claims that the DOJ used a number of “creepy” tactics to secretly and apparently illegally spy on members of Congress, the media, and Congressional staffers.
These folks apparently had pissed off people in the DOJ and thus, were the targets of the illegal spying.
Between 2017 and 2020 the DOJ ran four criminal investigations into the alleged unauthorized disclosure of classified information.
The investigations involved 43 Congressional staffers, their family members, and two sitting members of Congress.
According to the inspector general there was no probable cause for these investigations and yet the DOJ folks asked phone companies and email service providers to give up phone numbers, text messages, and email, all without probable cause.
The rogue investigators also made sure that these phone, text, and email providers never told the targets that private information had been handed over to the DOJ in order to cover their illegal tracking.
So disgusting that the Federal government responsible for enforcing the laws of the land are actually violating the laws of the land. The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution protects Americans from frivolous government intrusions and unreasonable searches of American citizens. These investigations were obviously unreasonable since they never got proper permission based on evidence of misdeeds.
That will do it for today: the government violating the Fourth Amendment relative to government employees, drones everywhere but no viable explanation from those who are supposed to be protecting citizens, and Kamala Harris’ atrocious management of her campaign budget.
