The 9-11 Terrorist Attacks 25 Years Later: Bush and Clinton Failed To Prevent The Attacks and Then Mamdani and Ocasio Cortez Disrespect the 9-11 Victims

As we have discussed many times, a primary function  of any government  entity is to protect the lives and property of the citizens they serve. As we just passed the 25th anniversary of the  9-11 terrorist attacks, it has become  obvious that the American  political class has been  inept and lacking of empathy when  it comes to these attacks:

1)The Trump administration  recently  released a trove of CIA intelligence reports and  analyses that were compiled during the Clinton and  Bush administrations. Those reports and  analyses outlined the danger  of Islamic terrorism cells and potential for terror attacks years before the 9/11 attacks. And both administrations obviously did nothing to prevent the  worst attacks  on U.S. civilians ever:

  • Those CIA documents correctly predicted that Osama Bin Laden was hell bent on attacking the United States three years before the  9-11 attacks.

  • In 1998, one document and  analysis hypothesized that terrorists “may fly an explosive packed  airplane  into a U.S. city.”

  • The reports started in February, 1998 and ran to September 12, 2001.

  • The contents of these reports were reported  directly to Clinton and Bush  in  their daily CIA security briefings.

  • All of the  reports emphasized that Bin Laden was obsessed in executing an  impactful attack on United States interests and targets, either domestically or overseas.

  • Some of  the reports claimed that Bin Laden’s people were training to hijack airliners, plotting to take hostages, and doing dry runs to test U.S. airport security.

  • An August,  2001 report emphasized that “Bin Laden [was]determined to strike the U.S.” and “clandestine, foreign government, and media reports indicate bin Laden since 1997 has wanted to conduct terrorist attacks in the US.”

Thus, the CIA apparently did  their  job: they assessed the  situation, came  to  the  correct conclusions of what Bin Laden was intent on doing, forwarded that information to both the Clinton and  Bush  administrations and both  administrations did nothing to prevent the attacks and the carnage. A massive and catastrophic failure of a basic government function:  protecting the lives  of the  citizens they oversee.

2)But this is not the only time that Clinton failed to  prevent the  future 9-11 terrorist attacks.  In 1996, the government  of Sudan offered to  arrest Bin  Laden and extradite him.

But the Clinton administration  passed on the opportunity to take him  out  of  circulation which resulted in Bin Laden being kicked out of Sudan and he eventually landed in Afghanistan. There he was protected by the Taliban who  allowed him to plan and  then  execute the 9-11 attacks. Another failure to  protect the lives  of American citizens.

3)And while Bush  and Clinton failed  to act on extensive intelligence that the CIA had gathered using American taxpayer dollars, wasting those counter intelligence efforts,  the recent disgusting actions by two modern day politicians showed the disdain they have  for the people they are supposed to  represent and protect.

At the 9-11 memorial service this past Friday to remember, mourn, and grieve on the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks, Congresswoman Ocasio Cortez and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani were insulting the memory of those  who  perished in the  attacks and the grieving families that were present at the memorial. I think my message to the Congresswoman summarizes what happened:

Congresswoman:

First, thank you for your time. Second, I am not a Trump or Republican voter so please don't go there. Okay, my question: will you be apologizing to the families that lost loved ones as a result of the 9-11 terrorist attacks in NYC because you found it perfectly okay to  laugh and joke with Mamdani while  the names of those who lost their lives were being read aloud and honored? I found your laughing despicable and abhorrent. Families were mourning the loss of their loved ones and you  somehow found  humor and levity during the mourning process. If you thought being there in  front of  saddened families and friends was funny you and Mamdani should have stayed home and made fun of the mourning and remembrance in private.  Thus, my original question: will you be issuing an apology for your insensitive/disrespectful behavior or have you no respect or kindness for the occasion  and those who lost  their lives?

Disgusting and inept behavior from past and current members of the American political class. Inability to recognize and act on clear cut  and specific terror signs long  ago, resulting  in 3,000  American lives perishing,  and disgusting  and disrespective behavior during the honoring of those 3,000 American lives that perished for no reason. Another sad chapter of  incompetence and disgusting  American  political class failure and behavior.
