June, 2019 Edition: The Horrors And Destruction That Donald Trump Has Imposed On America...Just Kidding! Part 22

Before we start today’s discussion, let’s review my voting history:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump.
  • I have rarely voted for a Republican for national office in my life.
A little over two years ago, many liberals, Democrats, and millennials were besides themselves with grief and fear because their pre-ordained queen, Hillary Clinton, was not elected President. Instead, Donald Trump was elected, an individual that these same people despised, hated, and feared, an individual they felt would endanger and possibly destroy the country and our democracy. For the past year and a half they fretted, worried and lashed out at anything or anyone that even remotely smelled of Donald Trump.

Given that Trump has been in office for a little over two years, I thought, that as someone who did not vote for him, it would be a good idea to review the horror, trauma, and terrible things that Trump has subjected the country to in just twenty seven month’s time. This is obviously a very sarcastic comment when you take an unbiased look at what has happened during the Trump Presidency.

The many previous posts we did on this topic identified well over 250 good things that have happened to America and Americans since Trump became President can be found by entering the phrase “the horrors and destruction” in the search box above. Today, let’s add another dozen or so good things that are going on in the country even though the doubters hate the reality that Trump is President:

- According to the Wall Street Journal on June 11, 2109, the Trump economy in April resulted in the country’s economy having more job openings than the total number of unemployed Americans by a record amount, with 7.449 million open jobs but only 5,824 unemployed Americans looking for work.

- The latest unemployment estimate shows the national unemployment percentage holding steady at near record low of 3.6%.

- The 4.2% unemployment rate for Hispanics is at its lowest level ever and the 3.1% unemployment for adult women has reached its lowest level since 1953.

- The rate at which Americans are leaving their current jobs, a proxy measure for workers’ confidence in the economy, is at the highest levels since the recession.

- CNN recently, and probably with great disgust, proclaimed that the stock market is up 40% since Trump came into office.

- The Washington Post recently conceded that Trump is the first President to improve wages in a generation.

- Gas prices continue to run lower than recent history with large oil inventories likely to drive down pump prices even more.

- The employment rate for all ethnicities is at a record high.

- The Trump economy has added 284,000 manufacturing jobs to the economy compared to millions of manufacturing jobs that were lost during the Obama years.

- The lower corporate tax rates under the Trump tax plan has given the country one of the most competitive economies in the world, feeding job and wage growth.

- A recent opinion poll found that Latinos generally support the border and immigration policies of Trump, e.g. building a border wall, want to end the catch and release program at the border, etc.

- Trump’s approval rating has risen to 46% which puts it a little ahead of Obama’s at the same time in each tenure.

- Trump recently reached an agreement with the Mexican government that will finally get them seriously involved in stopping the assault on our southern border by illegal immigrants, drug cartel members, gang members, human traffickers, and potential terrorists.

- The Trump administration recently rolled an effort to give women a larger role in world peace and security efforts, instructing all Federal departments involved with foreign affairs to increase women's roles in such matters.

For those of you that have hated on Trump since day one, and given your obvious gross error in judgment relative to Trump given the well 200 accomplishments we have previously listed and the ten newest accomplishments listed above, let me ask that you to do us all a favor by implementing the following changes in your behavior and attitude:
  • Chill out, tamp down your TDS affliction. No matter how much you hate Trump on a sexist, personal basis, get over it. He is the legally and duly elected President, he will be around for a while so refocus your hatred on more constructive issues and matters. You will live a lot longer if you take your hatred out of your heart and soul and devote it to something positive.
  • I would really appreciate it if some of you would apologize to the Trump voters you have disrespected in some of the grossest terms possible over the past year. You have called millions of voters racists, ignorant, stupid, Nazis, KKK members, and other horrible names simply because you disagreed with their voting choice. No American should be called such disgusting names simply because they exercised their Constitutional rights to the best of their abilities. Plus, slandering over 60 million Americans is no way to unite the country and get it focused on the real issues facing us all.
  • More personally, I would like, no I am demanding, an apology from some of you for your slanderous and disgusting name calling because in doing so, you insulted and disrespected my sister, my family members, my friends, and my co-workers who simply voted their conscience. I will defend their right to vote anyway they wanted and will no put up with your childish and vicious venom and bile directed at them, very important people in my life.
  • And finally, I challenge you to read the following blog post, a post that shows quite clearly that it was hateful people like some of you and your silence during the Obama years that actually caused Trump to be elected. Thus, the people you hate for voting for Trump are actually looking back at you in the mirror:
https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2016/03/how-american-liberals-and-washington.html

If you were silent in the dozens of instances listed in this post then you were responsible for the very thing you hate: a Trump Presidency. Or put another way, a so far successful and productive Trump Presidency. Over 250 accomplishments in a little over two years is not too shabby despite many of you wanting both Trump and the country to fail.

The Horrors And Destruction That Donald Trump Has Imposed On America...Just Kidding! Part 20

Before we start today’s discussion, let’s review my voting history:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump.
  • I have rarely voted for a Republican for national office in my life.
About 2 years ago, many liberals, Democrats, and millennials were besides themselves with grief and fear because their pre-ordained queen, Hillary Clinton, was not elected President. Instead, Donald Trump was elected, an individual that these same people despised, hated, and feared, an individual they felt would endanger and possibly destroy the country and our democracy. Given that Trump has been in office for almost two years, I thought, that as someone who did not vote for him, it would be a good idea to review the horror, trauma, and terrible things that Trump has subjected the country to in just eighteen month’s time. This is obviously a very sarcastic comment when you take an unbiased look at what has happened during the Trump Presidency.

The many previous posts we did on this topic identified over 200 good things that have happened to America and Americans since Trump became President can found by entering the phrase “the horrors and destruction” in the search box above. Today, let’s add another dozen or so good things that are going on in the country even though the doubters hate the reality that Trump is President:

- The dollar is at its strongest level in 30 years, indicating great confidence in the U.S.economy.

- U.S. steelmakers made more than 95 million tons of steel in 2018, the most since 2007 and 6.5% higher than in 2017.

- The economy added a whopping 312,000 jobs in December, 2018.

- Manufacturing jobs are growing at a 714% faster clip under Trump than over a similar time under Obama.

- Under Obama, federal state and local government employment grew 6 times faster than did manufacturing jobs, while under Trump, that ratio has been reversed, with manufacturing jobs growing 5 times faster than government jobs, a much healthier mix of economic results.

- The labor force participation rate increased two-tenths of a point to 63.1 percent in December, 2018, the highest it's been since Trump took office.

- At the end of 2018 there were 156,945,000 Americans with a job, a gain of 4,869,000 in two years, and a record high for the U.S. economy.

- The national unemployment rate continues to be under 4.0%, an 18 year low.

- Trump has convinced China to open up its markets to the importing of U.S. grown rice for the first time ever.

- According to a recent poll, Thirty-eight percent of respondents said the national economy is getting better, the biggest amount since March 2002.

- Last week the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits fell to a near 45-year low last week.

- Retail gasoline prices continue to bump along at lower levels not since in a very long time, with the price of unleaded gas less than two dollars a gallon in many places across the country.

- Despite a growing economy, the U.S. reduced its carbon emissions in 2017, leading the world in reduction of carbon usage and continuing the long term trend of reducing the nation's carbon footprint while China and India (and the rest of the world) continue to significantly increase their carbon footprint.

- Trump has started pulling U.S. troops out of Syria, hopefully a first move to get all U.S. troops out of this hell hole region

For those of you that have hated on Trump since day one, and given your obvious gross error in judgment relative to Trump given the well 200 accomplishments we have previously listed and the dozen or so of the newest accomplishments listed above, let me ask that you to do us all a favor by implementing the following changes in your behavior and attitude:

September, 2015, Political Class Insanity, Part 8: Terrorism At An All Time High, Manufacturing At An All Time Low

It is the start of another month which means it is time for our monthly review of the latest political class insanity that continually spews forth from America’s politicians. Their actions, words, quotes, incompetency, and general ineptness continue to reinforce our theory that we are currently being served by the worst set of politicians in the history of the nation.

As you read about the latest shenanigans and ineptness of the political class, keep in mind what should be their priorities in these difficult times and compare this list to what they are actually working on:

  • NBC recently reported that ISIS forces are getting larger and stronger despite the Obama administration spending billions of dollars on a failed air campaign and military strategy.
  • The stock market is in free fall.
  • Job creation is barely keeping up with population growth.
  • Wage growth is anemic, growing just .2% in the second quarter, the lowest quarterly growth since 1982.
  • The labor participation rate is at the lowest level in decades because the Obama economy cannot generate enough jobs.
  • Thousands of veterans are still not getting the medical care they were promised by the Federal government.
  • 46 million Americans are still receiving monthly Federal food assistance.
  • Our borders still leak and thousands of illegal immigrant criminals continue to walk our streets
  • A record number of police officers have been assassinated in the past week.
  • Major programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are hurtling towards insolvency and lose hundreds of billions of dollars every year to fraud and mismanagement.
  • Our kids are still getting lousy public educations at most public schools.
  • The IRS and other government functions seem to be getting their computer systems hacked on a regular basis, exposing tens of millions of Americans to identity theft potential.
  • Obama Care is a failure along so many dimensions as health care costs continue to soar despite the Obama promise that they would decrease.
  • Annual Federal deficits, while down, are still about half a TRILLION a year meaning that even though the Federal government is collecting more in taxes than ever before, it still cannot run a balanced budget.
Again, keep these real crises in mind as you read what our politicians are actually doing.

1) We have always tried to make the case, and often that case has been extremely easy to make, that we are living through the worst set of Washington politicians ever to hold office and they are presiding over the most expensive yet most ineffective Federal bureaucracies ever. This theory was recently upheld when you look at a damning report recently released by the Department of Homeland Security, as recently reported on the Investors’ Business Daily website.

Before you read the highlights of this report, keep in mind that since the attacks on 9-11, the Federal government has easily spent trillions and trillions of dollars trying to protect the United States and its citizens from terrorist attacks. And while the Feds have definitely thwarted some attacks, according to the report the homeland security situation is very dangerous despite the spending of trillions of dollars:

  • "The terror threat level in the U.S. homeland is high, and the situation is getting steadily worse," the seven-page report warns.
  • Over just the past five years, the number of U.S. terrorist cases involving homegrown violent jihadists has tripled to 122 from 38 in 2010.
  • The Islamic State has inspired or directed 55 terrorist plots or attacks against Western targets — including 14 in the U.S. alone — and there are already more cases this year than in all of 2014.
  • U.S. authorities have arrested or charged at least 48 individuals in the U.S. in 2015 — and 63 since 2014 — in Islamic State-related cases.
  • Most of the IS terrorist plots and attacks have involved targets in the New York and Boston areas.
  • The majority of recent Islamic terrorist plots have targeted law enforcement or troops based inside the U.S., such as July's Chattanooga, Tennessee attack, killing five soldiers.
  • The FBI has "hundreds of open investigations" of potential ISIS-inspired terrorists that cover all 56 of the bureau's field offices in 50 states.
  • Potentially "thousands of Americans" are taking in ISIS recruitment propaganda over social media sites, and may act on jihadist commands to "kill, kill, kill."
  • ISIS has produced more than 1,700 "jihadeos" and other propaganda material in just the first five months of this year.
  • ISIS and its agents are posting an estimated 200,000 jihadist messages on Twitter every day, and despite the FBI's crackdown, American recruitment is exploding.
  • ISIS is drawing fighters from more than 100 countries, including "dozens" from America, and can now muster between 20,000 and 30,000 foot soldiers.
  • The Islamic State's Western-based jihadists continue to recruit online in English-language social media posts, inspiring new generations of terrorists to join its ranks or conduct attacks in their home countries.
  • "America and its overseas partners have largely failed to roll back the ISIS terror safe haven," the congressional panel said.
  • The report notes that ISIS now has a direct presence, affiliates or groups pledging support in at least 18 countries or territories, including: Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Lebanon, Nigeria, the Palestinian territories, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen.

Recall that Obama once called ISIS the “JV” of terrorist organizations. This will likely go down as one of the worst foreign policy statements and assessments issued by any President, ever. Nevertheless, despite spending trillions of dollars, the possibility of an attack is possibly at the highest point ever, as documented by the very people who are expected to keep us safe.

2) According to a recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report, there are more government workers throughout the United States than those employed the manufacturing sector of the country. As of August, 2015, there were 21,995,000 government employees at all levels of government and only 12,329,000 in manufacturing, a ratio of 1.8 government employees for every manufacturing employee.
As the Washington political class has constantly showed they have no idea how to operate a growing, vibrant economy, we are now saddled with over 20 million Americans who do not create incremental wealth for the economy, being paid based on the wealth created by others and financed via dozens of taxes. And this trend of incompetence has been going on for decades:

According to the government data, manufacturing employment in the United States peaked in June 1979, when it hit 19,553,000. Which means we as a nation have lost about 7 million middle class manufacturing jobs since mid-1979. In fact, the number of manufacturing jobs today is about the same number of manufacturing jobs that existed in December,1941 when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor:

In 1941, there was one manufacturing job for every 10.6 citizens. In 2015, there is one manufacturing job for every 26.1 people in the total population. While we can argue what went wrong to turn the U.S. from a manufacturing powerhouse into a shrinking manufacturing footprint, the stats show that the Washington political class has done nothing to reverse this trend. Maybe that explains why the true unemployment rate in this country is stubbornly still over 10%.
That will do it for this month’s political class insanity. Today we found out that we are in more danger from a terrorist attack than probably any time in our history even though our politicians have spent trillions of dollars to prevent this very situation. Those same politicians and their predecessors presided over a deterioration of our country’s manufacturing base that took over two hundred years to create. Devastation is the only consistent output of our political class. Given the insanity of the past week that we discussed, consider joining our effort to get term limits for Washington politicians because really, how much worse could it be if we got rid of every current Washington politician after one term:www.howmuchworsecoulditget.com
