March, 2024, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Biden's Economic Failures, Biden's Foreign Policy Failures, Hochul's Law and Order Failure, and Oregon's Drug War Failure

Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.

Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.

1)We have often made the case that whatever the American political class touches or works on goes down the drain. The objectives are never met and a lot of taxpayer  money is wasted.

Oregon politicians illustrates the point perfectly:

  • A few years ago the state of Oregon basically legalized hard drugs.

  • One can make a strong case that this was the right move from a freedom perspective, that people should be able to put anything they want in their bodies regardless of what the political class deems appropriate.

  • In addition, current drug laws on the books have done nothing to stop the drug addiction plague in the country so why not try another approach.

  • Unfortunately, the Oregon approach was not the right approach.

  • There is a potential new law going through the legislative process that would re-criminalize hard drugs in the state and goes after dealers who peddle their poison close to schools, drug treatment centers, parks, and halfway houses.

  • Two years after the decriminalization law was passed, overdose cases in the state increased 20%.

  • In one single day in March, 2023, 11 people died  from an overdose, a rate of about 4,000 deaths a year.

Nice try but no success. Whatever addiction support the state politicians thought would offset the looser drug laws did not stop the death train of addiction. Just another failed political class effort.

2)A very, very basic role and tenet of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the citizens they serve. No matter what successes they have elsewhere, the failure to execute this basic government makes their tenure in office a failure.

Given this reality, it is pretty obvious that the political class in New York have failed in this basic government responsibility:

  • New York City’s streets and subways have experienced a significant increase in violent crime in the past few years.

  • For example, city subway crime is up 13% over the past year.

  • Thus, given the failure to control crime and homicides, New York governor, Kathy Hochul, has decided to station National Guard troops in the subways in a desperate last ditch effort to control the rampant crime.

  • She is worried that the crime rate is causing anxiety among commuters and subway riders and which may lead to people not using the subway system.

  • She obviously does not  think  that the NYPD is up to the task of controlling crime in the streets and subways and  is thus, a failure of the city’s political class to rein in the terror of violent crime.

This is obviously a desperation move by desperate politicians and their failure to to execute that basic government tenet,  protecting the lives and property of its citizens. And while this may work to lessen crime, nothing says “we live in a third world country” than basically having armed troops deployed to protect citizens.

3)Washington continues to be unable to control or understand inflation as the latest inflation numbers from the government point out:

  • The inflation rate for January was 3.2%, 60% higher than what the Federal Reserve and the country thinks is appropriate and fair.

  • Prices were up .4% in January over December, an annual rate that would be even higher than 3.2% if maintained.

  • The average cost of a gallon of gas was $3.08, up from $2.39 a gallon on the day Biden was elected, up about 30%.

  • Food prices continue to run more than 20% since Biden took over.

  • Overall inflation is up 17% over the past three years.

And yet Biden still does not get it, that his policies have restricted energy exploration and availability, driving up costs that reverberate through the entire economy. His huge deficit spending budgets are also a main driver of this persistent and damaging inflation. And yet he blames greedy companies and his ridiculous concept of “shrinkflation” for his economic ignorance. And his ignorance makes us poorer everyday.

4)Speaking of failures, Biden also continues to fail miserably when it comes to foreign policy:

  • His answer to the Ukraine/Russian conflict is to just continue spending taxpayer money on weapons for the Ukrainians, he has no diplomatic plan or strategy to actually end the conflict, just continues to feed it with weaponry: he has not met or talked to Putin, he has not forced the United Nations to help in at least a truce process, his secretary of state has met a grand total of one time with the Russian foreign minister, a complete and utter failure.

  • China is likely to invade Taiwan in the not too distant future and Biden has done nothing to diffuse that potential conflict except to ask Congress for more taxpayer money to buy weapons for the Taiwanese government.

  • North Korea continues to build up its nuclear and conventional arms arsenal.

  • The Hamas/Israeli conflict rages on with no successful  effort from the Biden administration to end that conflict, with Biden basically being  ignored by all sides involved.

We live in a much more dangerous world than when Biden came into office in January, 2021 and he and his State Department have  shown absolutely no ability to function and positively influence world events.

That will do it for today's political class insanity, a litany of failures of American politicians: Biden’s  foreign policy failures, Biden’s economic policy failures, New York’s inability to control urban crime failures, and Oregon’s failure to understand and treat the drug epidemic. Wow, it seems that you could not do any worse even if you tried to be a failure.

A Final Look At The Many Accomplishments of The Trump Presidency, The Most Successful Presidency in Generations

Disclosures up front:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump either time.
  • For a while when I lived in New Jersey I was a registered Democrat.
Thus, I am not biased Republican and conservative when it comes to assessing the accomplishments of any politician. And I agree that Trump is rude, crude, brash, obnoxious, etc.

However, I am a bottom line sort of guy. I worked in the corporate world for some bosses that were not very nice, that they insisted on results first and niceties later. But they got positive results year in and year out and I grew to appreciate that they were focused on doing the right things and if people's feelings got hurt because they were not doing their own job then so be it.

Thus, as the Trump administration unfolded, I started to document the accomplishments of the Trump Presidency as they piled up despite his abrasive personality. This effort ended up covering about 20 different posts and documenting over 200 substantial accomplishments of his administration. Those previous listings of accomplishment posts can be accessed by typing “horrors and destruction” in the search box above. You can also go to the 11th post directly which has links to the first ten Trump accomplishment posts embedded in it:

Successful” is where I kind of land on Trump. He is obnoxious but he got results. Off the top of my head, I can present the following successes of his administration:
  1. The overall unemployment rate dropped below 4% and stayed there for a while, a feat that was once thought economically impossible.
  2. The African-American unemployment rate dropped down to record low levels.
  3. The Hispanic-American unemployment rate dropped down to record low levels.
  4. The women unemployment rate dropped down to record low levels.
  5. The non-college educated unemployment rate dropped down to record low levels.
  6. More women entered the worked force than any other time in history.
  7. His tax cut efforts gave well over 110 million Americans a major tax break, increasing their personal freedom in the process.
  8. GDP grew to levels never seen during the Obama years.
  9. Average household income grew substantially during his term after years of no or minimal annual growth.
  10. His tax breaks for business resulting in hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of manufacturing jobs being created in the country, a reality that Obama once proclaimed would be impossible, that those manufacturing jobs were lost forever.
  11. His tax breaks for business brought back $300 billion in wealth that was stranded overseas due to the high domestic business tax level, resulting in economic growth in this country.
  12. The year after his tax break program was implemented, charitable giving hit an all time high, over $400 billion, as taxpayers were able to be more generous with their charitable donations.
  13. These economic successes were attained in the context of a low inflation rate.
  14. He forced NATO members to finally honor their commitment from a military budget perspective in support of the coalition.
  15. He facilitated multiple peace accords between Israel and Arab countries, something once thought impossible.
  16. He imposed stiff economic sanctions on the leading terrorist country in the World, Iran, which helped protect not only Israel but also the rest of the world.
  17. He cut off foreign aid to the PLO which had been using foreign aid to attack Israel.
  18. He helped keep North Korea under control, coming closer than any other President to get their maniac leader to idle back his weapons programs.
  19. He did succeed in getting the North Koreans to return the remains of U.S. soldiers that died in North Korean territory during the Korean War, a gesture that means the world to families who never reached closure with the loss of their loved ones, an important issue to my family.
  20. If people have not noticed, Russia had been relatively quiet during his term, a reality not present under Obama, see Ukranian invasion by the Russians.
  21. He helped fix the dysfunctional Veterans Administration by firing inept administrators and changing some of the rules so that veterans could get better medical attention.
  22. He negotiated a much better trade treaty with Canada and Mexico, replacing the NAFTA treaty, a feat that even organized labor applauded.
  23. He initiated programs to protect religious and sexual preference freedom around the world.
  24. He withdrew us out of the ridiculous Paris Climate Accords but still led the U.S. to reduce its carbon footprint by about 140 million metric tons a year, according to a United Nations report, by far the most successful carbon footprint reduction in the world.
  25. He defeated ISIS in a matter of months, a feat that Obama said would take generations.
These are major, major accomplishments that far out distance the accomplishments of his predecessor, Obama, and other recent Presidencies. I dare anyone to list out Obama’s accomplishments, Bush’s accomplishments, etc. and try to match up not just to these listed 25 accomplishments of Trump but the 175 or so other ones that I have previously documented but not listed above.

Do not believe me? Consider a recent article Victoria Taft from the American Patriots United website where she also tried to document the success of the Trump administration:
  1. He helped generate a booming economy for three years and then guided the economy to a soft landing and quick turnaround as a result of the devastating pandemic.
  2. He implemented “Operation Warp Speed” which got covid vaccines developed, produced and distributed in record, unprecedented time.
  3. He got pandemic resources deployed quickly and efficiently, e.g. Navy hospital ship to NYC.
  4. He donated his entire quarterly Presidential salary to worthy causes for four years.
  5. He played far, far fewer rounds of golf than his 300+ golf rounds his predecessor played, focusing on the issues facing the country instead.
  6. He slashed the use of funding for abortions via the UN Commission on Population Control due its funding of “coercive abortions and forced sterilizations.”
  7. He signed an executive order that did not allow the Treasury Department to go after the First Amendment rights of political speech of pastors.
  8. He renegotiated trade deals with Canada and Mexico that improved on the then current NAFTA trade agreement.
  9. He got the country out of New World Order Davos-inspired trade agreements that put the U.S. at a trade disadvantage.
  10. He greatly reduced Federal government regulations to the tune of 25,000 pages being lopped out of the Federal Register, which freed up the economy and is estimated to save every American about $3,100 a year by reducing business regulations.
  11. The country saw its lowest unemployment rate in 50 years as African-American and Hispanic unemployment rates got down near record lows.
  12. The nation’s labor participation rate was at its highest level in years.
  13. Trump signed the First Step Act which was a criminal justice reform act that released prisoners from jail because of excessively long sentences as a result of Joe Biden’s sponsored legislation.
  14. Trump reformed the Veterans Administration by getting rid of deadwood high ranking officials and allowing veterans to pick their own doctors, improving the overall health care of all veterans.
  15. Trump positioned the country to be energy independent and a net exporter of energy, the first time this was attained in 75 years.
  16. He started no wars and did not militarily attack any other country, something that had not been done over the most recent administrations.
  17. In fact, he began bringing U.S. troops home from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq after Bush and Obama had placed troops in each of those countries.
  18. He defeated ISIS in a matter of months, something once thought impossible.
  19. His sanctions crippled the Iranians’ terrorism activites while taking out the world’s number one terrorist who was a part of the Iranian terror machine.
  20. His son-in-law brokered peace deals between Israel and several Arab countries once thought impossible.
  21. Trump withdrew the U.S. out of the sham United Nations “Human Rights Council” which was often overseen by dictators who oppressed their own people while constantly condemning Israel.
  22. Unlike the Obama administration and the incoming Biden administration, Trump supported law enforcement officers across the country, offering Federal support whenever a local police force was under attack and duress, e.g. Portland, Chicago, and Seattle.
These are just another person’s view to mine that Trump was one of the more successful Presidents of our time despite being, as we stated above, rude, crude, obnoxious, uncouth, etc. And again, I would rather have a horse’s rear end as a leader who got things done to the betterment of us all than a smooth talking, coddling, smiling, leader who got nothing done.

Biden has a big mountain ahead of him if he thinks he can accomplish as much as Trump. And as someone who did not vote for Trump, it is my opinion that Biden has no chance to be anywhere close as effective as Trump was. The lists of accomplishments above are way beyond anything that Biden will be capable of following up on.

California - The First State To Go Bankrupt? Has Its Financial Death Spiral Begun?

We have often discussed the deteriorating condition of life and politics in California. California is the closest thing we have in this country when it comes to socialism, it’s politicians have done so many stupid, overreaching, and financially wasteful things that it has turned a California paradise into the following hellish conditions in the state:
  • The state politicians have run up hundreds of billions of dollars in unfunded financial liabilities that at some point in time will either cost Californians even heavier taxation or drive the state government into bankruptcy.
  • State residents are some of the heaviest taxed Americans in the country with an unreal top state income tax marginal tax rate at over 13%.
  • Even though Californians pay, on average, about 55% more for electricity than the rest of the country, they have to suffer through periodic rolling electricity blackouts because the state’s politicians have forced more and more of the state's electricity be created by unreliable solar and wind power sources.
  • Bad environmental laws and regulations have caused massive forest fires over the past couple of years.
  • California has some of the highest poverty rates in the country.
  • California’s public schools do a horrible job educating their kids.
  • By far, the state has more homeless people than any other state, e.g. there are 66,000 homeless Americans wandering the streets just in LA County alone.
  • State cities have made it not illegal to defecate, urinate, or shoot up illegal drugs in public which has drastically reduced the quality of life in many state cities.
  • High taxes and lower quality of life has caused many Californians to leave the state, taking their tax dollars and jobs with them.
  • Since 2005, more people have left California then who moved into the state, the first time that has ever happened.
  • Since 1990, migration in California has averaged -225,000 residents a year, i.e. on average 225,000 moved out of the state then moved into it.
  • According to a recent CEO survey, California is the most challenging and difficult state to do business in.
  • Crime rates in the state are going up quickly and yet state politicians continue to “defund the police” which results in more crime and more criminals getting away with their crimes.
  • The state government’s attempt to build a high speed rail line in the state crashed almost immediately after beginning, wasting millions and millions of taxpayer dollars without accomplishing anything except showing how inept state politicians and bureaucrats are.
  • Idiotic housing laws and regulations have resulted in an extreme affordable housing supply deficiency in the state which has not just impoverished those that can barely afford the expensive housing but also contributed to the huge homeless problem of people who just plain could not afford housing in the state and ended up on the streets.
Poverty, bad schools, expensive housing, lower quality of life, higher and higher taxes, higher and higher unfunded future financial liabilities, high living costs, etc. The state is a mess mostly because of the inept politicians that run the state government and the mess they have made is driving more and more people and businesses out of the state.

One of the best descriptions I ever heard of California is that it is now just “North Korea with a tech industry.” In other words, the state is being kept afloat financially because the Silicon Valley billionaires and their high flying companies have kept some tax money flowing into the state government, where, of course, it gets squandered by the state politicians. Take away the rich tech leaders, take away their rich companies and all of a sudden, the tax stream of the state goes down the drain, leaving behind nothing but...another North Korea who lost its tech industry.

And do not think this scenario is not starting to materialize:
  • Joe Rogan is one of the most famous podcasters in the world and was recently given a ten year, $100 million contract by Spotify.
  • Mr. Rogan is now a former California resident since one of the first things he did was move to Texas, a state without a state income tax, because if he had stayed in California, that $100 million contract would have cost him about $13 million in California state income taxes.
  • Obviously, the move was a financial no brainer since Texas has no state income tax.
  • Ben Shapiro is a famous conservative pundit.
  • He grew up in California, went to college in California, met and married his wife in California and started a family in California.
  • Nevertheless, he recently moved his business and family out of California to Tennessee.
  • The reason for moving was totally logical: “We’re leaving because all the benefits of California have steadily eroded — and then suddenly collapsed. Meanwhile, all the costs of California have steadily increased — and then suddenly skyrocketed.”
  • He also referenced the financial death spiral syndrome that we have talked about many times: “It can be difficult to spot the incremental encroachment of a terrible disease, but once the final ravages set in, it becomes obvious that the illness is fatal. So, too, with California, where bad governance has turned a would-be paradise into a burgeoning dystopia. The most beautiful areas of Los Angeles, from Santa Monica beach to my suburb, have become wrecks. My children have personally witnessed drug use, public urination and public nudity. Looters were allowed free reign in the middle of the city during the Black Lives Matter riots; Rodeo Drive was closed at 1 p.m., and citizens were curfewed at 6 p.m. I want my kids to grow up safe. I want them to grow up in a community with a future, with more freedom and safety than I grew up with. California makes that impossible. So, goodbye, Golden State. Thanks for the memories.”
  • Billionaire Elon Musk of Tesla and Space X fame also recently made the move out of California, both as a resident and as a business person.
  • He is building a truck factory in Texas rather than invest in California, keeping high tech, high paying jobs and tax revenue in Texas, and has publicly stated that he was tired with the overbearing politicians, government and regulations in California.
  • Oracle is another Silicon Valley tech company that has recently decided to move its headquarters out of California.
  • Chairman Larry Ellison of Oracle: “Oracle is implementing a more flexible employee work location policy and has changed its Corporate Headquarters from Redwood City, California to Austin, Texas. We believe these moves best position Oracle for growth and provide our personnel with more flexibility about where and how they work. Depending on their role, this means that many of our employees can choose their office location as well as continue to work from home part-time or all of the time. In addition, we will continue to support major hubs for Oracle around the world, including those in the United States such as redwood City, Austin, Santa Monica, Seattle, Denver, Orlando and Burlington, among others, and we expect to add other locations over time. By implementing a more modern approach to work, we expect to further improve our employees’ quality of life and quality of output."
  • More jobs and tax dollars leaving California.
  • Earlier this month, Hewlett Packard Enterprise also announced it was moving its corporate headquarters to Texas: “HPE has made the decision to relocate its headquarters from San Jose, California, to Houston, Texas. HPE’s largest U.S. employment hub, Houston is an attractive market to recruit and retain future diverse talent, and is where the company is currently constructing a state-of-the-art new campus. The Bay Area will continue to be a strategic hub for HPE innovation, and the company will consolidate a number of sites in the Bay Area to its San Jose campus. No layoffs are associated with this move.”
  • More jobs and tax dollars leaving California.
  • Toyota had previously moved its headquarters out of California to Texas, driven a lot by its employees complaining about the high housing costs in California.
  • More jobs and tax dollars leaving California.
  • Other California companies to recently move themselves and their employees out of California include, but are not limited to, McKesson, Core-Mark Holding Co., and Charles Schwabb.
  • More jobs and tax dollars leaving California.
Many of these moves of employees, companies, and jobs were to Texas, a state that has no state income tax, does not tax capital taxes at higher and higher rates, has affordable housing, has a less stringent business regulatory environment, and has no rolling electricity blackouts.

People want to be free and a large part of being free is 1) being able to keep their hard earned wealth and 2) not having some politician and government bureaucrat constantly adding to lists of things that they cannot do. Economic freedom allows people the freedom to send their kids to better schools, freedom to choose from a larger variety of lifestyles, contribute more to their favorite charities, save money to possibly start up their own business, etc. The high taxes across the board in California make that freedom shrink in direct relationship to the higher and higher taxes.

But the insanity, insensitivity, and ignorance of these principles and the actions that are reducing the state government’s ability to function financially are lost on California politicians. That is why I believe that California, along with Illinois, New York, and New Jersey, could very well be the first state in our history to go bankrupt. You cannot keep losing your tax base, suffer an ever growing out migration of businesses, residents, jobs, and tax revenue, while not cutting spending, and expect to not go belly up financially. The financial death spiral in California has already started and nobody in the state political class seems to have noticed.

North Korea without a tech industry, it is getting more and more likely everyday that will be the future of California, thanks to a political class bent on socialism and the denial of freedom.

The Horrors And Destruction That Donald Trump Has Imposed On America...Just Kidding! Part 22

Before we start today’s discussion, let’s review my voting history:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump.
  • I have rarely voted for a Republican for national office in my life.
A little over two years ago, many liberals, Democrats, and millennials were besides themselves with grief and fear because their pre-ordained queen, Hillary Clinton, was not elected President. Instead, Donald Trump was elected, an individual that these same people despised, hated, and feared, an individual they felt would endanger and possibly destroy the country and our democracy. For the past year and a half they fretted, worried and lashed out at anything or anyone that even remotely smelled of Donald Trump.

Given that Trump has been in office for about two and a half years, I thought, that as someone who did not vote for him, it would be a good idea to review the horror, trauma, and terrible things that Trump has subjected the country to in just twenty seven month’s time. This is obviously a very sarcastic comment when you take an unbiased look at what has happened during the Trump Presidency.

The many previous posts we did on this topic identified well over 250 good things that have happened to America and Americans since Trump became President can found by entering the phrase “the horrors and destruction” in the search box above. Today, let’s add another dozen or so good things that are going on in the country even though the doubters hate the reality that Trump is President [Note: we may have covered some of these before so consider the repeats, if any, a good review]:
  • After years of no change in pay, Trump engineered a budget increase and thus, a pay raise for our brave folks serving in our armed forces.
  • Trump embarrassed many NATO countries into finally paying their own fair share of their common defense, as required under the NATO Treaty requirements but what had been ignored in the past.
  • ISIS, the most violent and despicable terrorist group of all time, was virtually wiped out by Trump’s military strategy in a matter of months even though Obama said it would take generations.
  • Trump’s outreach to North Korea has resulted in North Korea not launching any more rocket tests since the Trump/Kim Jong Un summit last summer.
  • The economy has been roaring on all cylinders since Trump took office with record low unemployment levels across the board, rising wages, low inflation, low gas prices, and a soaring stock market.
  • Six million jobs have been created since Trump took office with many of them being on shore manufacturing jobs, jobs that Obama once said would take a “magic wand” to bring back.
  • A recent study by two University of Pennsylvania sociologists found that Americans on average have become “much less racist” since Trump took office in 2016, killing the deceitful and hateful rhetoric of the mainstream press and Democrats/liberals.
  • Trump has supported the need to better take care of our brave veterans, signing the Veterans Accountability and Whistleblower Act, signing the Harry W. Colmery Educational Assistance Act, signing the V.A. Choice and Quality Employment Act, and creating a new White House V.A. hotline, staffed by veterans and family members, to provide to any needs of any veteran.
For those of you that have hated on Trump since day one, and given your obvious gross error in judgment relative to Trump given the well 250 accomplishments we have previously listed and the eight newest accomplishments listed above, let me ask that you do us all a favor by implementing the following changes in your behavior and attitude:
  • Chill out, tamp down your TDS affliction. No matter how much you hate Trump on a sexist, personal basis, get over it. He is the legally and duly elected President, he will be around for a while so refocus your hatred on more constructive issues and matters. You will live a lot longer if you take your hatred out of your heart and soul and devote it to something positive.
  • I would really appreciate it if some of you would apologize to the Trump voters you have disrespected in some of the grossest terms possible over the past year. You have called millions of voters racists, ignorant, stupid, Nazis, KKK members, and other horrible names simply because you disagreed with their voting choice. No American should be called such disgusting names simply because they exercised their Constitutional rights to the best of their abilities. Plus, slandering over 60 million Americans is no way to unite the country and get it focused on the real issues facing us all.
  • More personally, I would like, no I am demanding, an apology from some of you for your slanderous and disgusting name calling because in doing so, you insulted and disrespected my sister, my family members, my friends, and my co-workers who simply voted their conscience. I will defend their right to vote anyway they wanted and will no put up with your childish and vicious venom and bile directed at them, very important people in my life.
  • And finally, I challenge you to read the following blog post, a post that shows quite clearly that it was hateful people like some of you and your silence during the Obama years that actually caused Trump to be elected. Thus, the people you hate for voting for Trump are actually looking back at you in the mirror:
https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2016/03/how-american-liberals-and-washington.html

If you were silent in the dozens of instances listed in this post then you were responsible for the very thing you hate: a Trump Presidency. Or put another way, a so far successful and productive Trump Presidency. Over 250 accomplishments in a little less than two and a half years is not too shabby despite many of you wanting both Trump and the country to fail.

The Horrors And Destruction That Donald Trump Has Imposed On America...Just Kidding! Part 13

Before we start today’s discussion, let’s review my voting history:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump.
  • I have rarely voted for a Republican for national office in my life.
About 18 months ago, many liberals, Democrats, and millennials were besides themselves with grief and fear because their pre-ordained queen, Hillary Clinton, was not elected President. Instead, Donald Trump was elected, an individual that these same people despised, hated, and feared, an individual they felt would endanger and possibly destroy the country and our democracy. For the past year and a half they fretted, worried and lashed out at anything or anyone that even remotely smelled of Donald Trump.

Given that Trump has been in office for over 18 months, I thought, that as someone who did not vote for him, it would be a good idea to review the horror, trauma, and terrible things that Trump has subjected the country to in just eighteen month’s time. This is obviously a very sarcastic comment when you take an unbiased look at what has happened during the Trump Presidency. The many previous posts we did on this topic identified over 160 good things that have happened to America and Americans since Trump became President can found listed in the previous post we did in this series:

To those over 170 good things that Trump has done, let’s us today add another ten positive contributions to the country:

- Trump has probably been the main factor in the increased favorability rating of the Republican party, as measured by Gallup, putting it at the highest level in seven years and now exceeds the favorability reading of the Democrats.

- Republicans favorability among women has risen from 35% to 40% over the past year and has increased by 13 points for men.

- The remains of two U.S. Korean soldiers that Trump got North Korea to give up have been identified, bring peace and closure to their families.

- News reports state that the U.S. and North Korea are making plans to search for more missing remains from the Korean war in addition to the 55 sets of remains that have already been set home.

- Although many criticized Trump’s tax cuts because they felt it would crimp charitable giving, in 2017 charitable giving exceeded $400 billion for the first time, $410.2 billion, with individuals increasing their charitable giving by over 5% and business charitable giving increased by 8%.

- Consumer confidence, as measured by the Conference Board, hit an 18 year high in September.

Another six reasons to add to the previous 170 or so reasons why the first year and a half of the Trump Presidency has not wrought disaster on the country.

For those of you that have hated on Trump since day one, and given your obvious gross error in judgment relative to Trump, let me ask that you to do us all a favor by implementing the following changes in your behavior and attitude:

If you were silent in the dozens of instances listed in this post then you were responsible for the very thing you hate: a Trump Presidency. Or put another way, a so far successful and productive Trump Presidency. Over 160 accomplishments in a little more than a year and a half is not too shabby despite many of you wanting both Trump and the country to fail.
