September, 2025, Part 10, Political Class Insanity: Kamala Is Bad with Numbers (Again), NYC Will Not Get A Bailout, More Government Program Criminal Fraud and More

There has been a lot going on in the world lately: the never ending Ukrainian/Russian war, Middle East battles, Russiagate, Google admitting to censoring conservative posts and websites, a former FBI director getting arrested, etc. But that does not mean the regular political class insanity has stopped, as we see below:

1)We have often discussed the monetary, violence, and housing impacts that have come about because Biden allowed well over ten  million illegal immigrants to flood into the country. This required that billions of taxpayer dollars be used to provide free food, free shelter, free medical care, and free cell phones to these illegal immigrants.

Liberals justified this flooding of illegal immigrants by saying that they would do low end jobs that Americans do not want to do, which is a pretty racist position to have. But out in Iowa, an illegal immigrant has been doing a job that most Americans would die for:

  • The Des Moines School  Board appointed Ian Andre Roberts as Superintendent of Schools back  in 2023.

  • On the surface that was no big deal even though it was a very financially lucrative position: $270,000  in annual salary, about five times the amount that many teachers in the state of Iowa earn.

  • His position also got him a tax free annual annuity that was equal to 14% of his annual salary and a $600 a month car allowance.

  • But what is disgusting, according to reporting by the Gateway Pundit, Roberts was an illegal immigrant and had a criminal record when he was hired, a criminal record that included a weapons charge back  in 2020.

  • He had overstayed his visa and had received a final  deportation order back  in 2024, after he had been  appointed.

  • And even with this background baggage, he continued to be in charge of the city’s schools even though the school board was aware of his illegal  immigration status and the weapons charges.

  • The school  board justified this nonsense and the wasting of taxpayer  money by highlighting his claimed Phd in Urban  Education Leadership from St.  John’s University.

  • However, according to the Gateway Pundit, a search of the St. John’s  website failed to show such a degree program existed.

  • It turns out the chairperson of the school  board is named Jackie Norris who just happened to  be the Chief of Staff for Michelle Obama.

Thus, a politically connected board chairperson helped hire an illegal immigrant with a possibly non-existent degree with a criminal  background to a taxpayer funded job that pays over $300,000 a year in salary and benefits. Just another day and another example where certain members of the political class care more about illegal immigrants  than  they do about Americans. I am sure that an unbiased job search could have turned up a qualified American  citizen with a real education degree and no criminal background to serve the kids in Des Moines.

2)Let’s go out to Minnesota for some good old fashioned government fraud, this time fraud perpetrated by an immigrant from Somali:

  • In Minneapolis,, a 28 year old Somali woman is in Federal legal trouble for allegedly scamming $14 million intended for autism  support.

  • Asha  Farhan Hassan managed a company called Smart Therapy LLC.

  • She has been  indicted on Federal wire fraud charges for allegedly submitting false billings to Minnesota’s Early Intensive  Developmental and  Behavioral Intervention program.

  • This program is supposed to be used to help kids with  autism that are younger than  21 years old.

  • According to Post Millennial  reporting, she supposedly hired unqualified individuals, including teenage relatives with only a high school education to run her scam and offered  kickbacks exceeding $1,000 to parents keep their kids enrolled in her sham programs.

  • She also billed taxpayer funded Medicaid for services not performed.

  • Haassan has also been implicated in the state’s  largest Covid fraud case, Feeding Our Future scandal which allegedly got her $465,000.

More taxpayer money down the drain due to the federal government’s inability to run an effective audit process to catch criminals before they get away with billions of dollars in taxpayer wealth.

3)We often discussed the impending financial disaster that is likely to  happen if Zohran Mamdani, a Communist running for mayor of New York City is elected:

  • He wants to raise taxes on wealthy city residents which is likely to drive them out of the city to lower tax locales, reducing the city’s tax base.

  • He wants to provide free services to city residents such as free bus rides and free child care which will cost a lot of money.

  • He wants to operate city owned supermarkets which would have lower prices which will drive supermarkets out of the city, turning the city into a food desert.

  • He wants to replace police work with social workers which will increase the crime, driving more residents and businesses out of town.

His election will unleash negative forces on so many fronts it will not be pretty.

And apparently, Mamdani and the city residents and businesses, are going to have  to work themselves out of the disaster he creates since Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, recently announced that the rest of the country’s taxpayers via the Federal government will not bail Mamdani out of the trouble he creates for the city; "I guarantee you, and there're not a lot of things in life that are sure, but New York City will be coming to the federal government for a bailout if Mamdani’s plans are implemented," and Bessent continued to say that financial rescue funding will not be forthcoming.

Bessent repeated what we have discussed in this blog many, many times: "All the high earners, all the businesses [will  leave the city]. If you look back over the past five years, we’ve already seen the greatest transfer of wealth in U.S. history from Manhattan County to Palm Beach County."

The good news is that the rest of the country will not finance Mamdani’s likely failures. The bad news is, a lot of New Yorkers are really going to suffer from his ridiculously  stupid ideas and changes.

4)We often contemplate a deep philosophical question: do politicians lie because they actually believe the tripe they spout or do  they think we are too stupid to  know when  they are lying to us, a question for the ages. In this vein, former Vice President and Presidential  candidate, Kamala  Harris, caused this issue to come up again in recent public remarks:

  • Speaking on a recent airing of “The View,” Harris stated that the 2024 Presidential  election that she lost was the "closest" election of the 21st century.

  • Pretty sure this is more self unawareness or an outright lie, as the numbers point out.

  • In the election of 2000, Bush edged out Gore by just five electoral votes, 271 to 266 or 50.4% vs. 49.6%.

  • Trump beat Harris in electoral votes by 86, a margin about 17 times larger than  the Bush/Gore margin.

  • In fact, if you exclude the two elections that involved Obama, EVERY Presidential  election in the 21st century was closer than Harris’ loss to Trump.

  • Harris lost every swing state and lost in the popular vote, the first time that has happened to a Democrat running for President in ages.

  • This is how she framed this fantasy: “This is unprecedented, think about this. There’s a race for president of the United States, the current sitting president is running for reelection. Three-and-a-half months from the election, he decides not to run. The sitting vice president then takes the mantle, running against a former president of the United States who had been running for ten years with 107 days before the election. And by the way, another piece of what is unprecedented and a bit historical about that race, it is the closest presidential race in the 21st century in terms of the outcome.”

Seriously. Is she just that bad with  numbers, is she  delusional, or does she think  we are too stupid to understand the reality of the election results from the past quarter century? As we said above, a question for the ages.

Enough  insanity for now: more word salad idiocy from  Harris, NYC is on  its own, more criminal fraud of taxpayer wealth in Minnesota, and taking care of an  illegal immigrant before taking care of Americans.

The Hypocrisy and Idiocy of The NFL - A Follow Up To My Letter To Roger Goodell

Two days ago we wrote an open letter to Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner, suggesting a way for he and the NFL to get themselves out of the terrible jam they have created by pissing off millions of Americans and millions of NFL fans. The root cause of this jam is the hypocrisy and infantile behavior of Goodell and many NFL players in disrespecting the American flag, the national anthem, the country, and the service men and women and police men and women that protect all of us.

As a result of their behavior:

  • Social media is red hot with fans expressing their disgust at the players’ and Goodell’s disrespectful behavior.
  • Fans are vowing not to buy NFL tickets and memorabilia, boycotting NFL sponsors, and not watching NFL games on TV any more.
  • Fans that have purchased special and expensive NFL TV packages have been asking for and receiving refunds on their purchases.

A couple of observations and talking points:

  • First and foremost, President Trump should have never entered the fray, this is a marketplace matter, it does not have anything to do with Federal government functions. Trump should have been focusing on much more important national matters including a potential nuclear war with North Korea, the mess in Syria, terrorism in general, the repeal of the disastrous Obama Care legislation, tax reform, and any number of other pressing matters.
  • But having said that, Obama also should have also kept his nose out of non Federal government, trivial matters: he should not have taken time off as President to record a commercial for a comedian’s (George Lopez) TV show, he should not have wasted so much time prancing and primping around on daytime talk shows like The View, Ellen, and others, he should not have wasted so much time every March thinking that he was an expert in picking March Madness games and going on ESPN to brag about his picks (which were never any good.), etc. He should have been focusing on much more important national matters  including a potential nuclear war with North Korea, the mess in Syria, terrorism in general, the repeal of the disastrous Obama Care legislation, tax reform, and any number of other pressing matters.
  • Goodell comes off as hyper hypocritical in this matter. When players wanted to mark up their sneakers to honor those that died on 9-11 he stopped them because it was not consistent with and was disrespectful of league uniform rules. When a player wanted to mark up his spikes to honor his mother, he stopped the gesture because it was not consistent with and was disrespectful of league uniform rules. When the Dallas Cowboys wanted to put a decal on their helmets to honor the five Dallas police officers that were murdered by a domestic terrorist, he stopped the gesture because it was not consistent with and was disrespectful of league uniform rules. But when a bunch of players disrespect the flag, the country and the national anthem, acts of defiance that are not consistent with league rules, he goes mute. When quarterback Colin Kaepernick comes to an NFL practice wearing socks that depicted all cops as pigs, surely inconsistent with NFL uniform rules, Goodell was silent. So hypocritical.
  • In fact, he got himself in a snit by claiming that Trump disrespected the league. He needs to keep in mind that the NFL needs America, America does not need the NFL. His players and employees disrespect the flag and country and those that protect us and he’s upset because he thinks that the league got disrespected, give me a break.
  • Last week, a New York Giants receiver, Odell Beckham, caught a touchdown pass and as part of his post score antics he got down on all four legs and acted like a male dog taking a piss on a bush. To my knowledge as of today, Goodell has not reprimanded or punished Beckham for such crass and disgusting behavior but he tolerates the disrespecting of the country, the anthem, and the flag.
  • But probably the other biggest screw up by Goodell, besides his super hypocrisy, is that all of these player protests, supposedly against racism in America, are totally useless. These protests are an empty gesture of spoiled millionaire players taking a few minutes to execute an empty protest without any plans, initiatives, and sense of what it takes to actually make a positive difference in society. As a result, the issue they think  they are highlighting is getting lost because of the way Goodell let them go about it. If there is widespread racism in this country, and real data would dispute the widespread assertion of these players, they blew the opportunity to address it with their disrespectful behavior. The issue they protested, racism, is now an afterthought to the furor and disrespect they have incurred and for that I blame Goodell for letting the crazies run the asylum and not focusing their passion into a positive action that involved fans, sponsors, law enforcement, and politicians.
  • No kid in south Chicago is any safer from the drug trade violence in the streets as a result of millionaire players not respecting the flag. No opioid drug addict in inner city Baltimore is more likely to get addiction treatment as a result of millionaire players not respecting the anthem. No inner city school kid in Washington DC is getting more than a mediocre education as a result of millionaire players not respecting those in the police and armed forces that have died and suffered protecting all of us. And no bridges between police organizations and local communities have been built as a result of millionaire players pissing like a dog.

I have provided a way out of the mess he created. I doubt he will ever read it or act on my suggestions. That is certainly his right. But I am done with the NFL for now. Not so much because I disagree with the players but what they did and how they did it was stupid and self defeating. And the hypocrisy of Roger Goodell in this whole mess is juvenile, and certainly not the mark of a great leader. Two things I hate in life is hypocrisy and stupidity, and the NFL and Goodell have certainly displayed both of them in this issue, causing the real purported issue, racism, to  get lost in the noise.

Even The President's Friends Think ISIS is More Important Than an Exhibition Baseball Game....And Tango Lessons...And Golf

In the past month or so, ISIS has unleashed a number of deadly attacks across the world:
  • In late February, two ISIS bombs killed over 100 Iraqis.
  • Dozens of people died in two ISIS-related suicide bombers attacks over the past couple of months in Turkey.
  • And this past week, ISIS struck in the heart of Europe in Brussels, with two bombs going off at the airport and one going off in a train car, killing dozens and wounding over a hundred including Americans.
ISIS is on the move, spreading their violent wrath of terror and death across the Middle East and Europe. Innocent people are dying, fear is being spread, ISIS’s influence is growing in multiple countries and this week, President Obama:
  • Attended a meaningless baseball game in Cuba immediately after hearing of the death and carnage in Brussels.
  • In a political speech in Cuba, spent less than one minute discussing the major terror attacks in Brussels.
  • Flew to Argentina where he spent some time learning how to dance the tango as body parts were being cleaned up in Brussels.
  • He eventually returned to Washington DC where he decided going golfing would be a good thing to do.
I know I feel like many other Americans when I say that I was disgusted by this lack of compassion and concern of this President. Rather than showing any sympathy and concern immediately after the attacks, he was sitting in a baseball stadium doing the wave and laughing it up with Cuba’s Communist dictator. Despite having the information on the attack, he still allowed himself to be seen learning to dance the tango. Heartless behavior of a human being in my opinion, never mind the President of the United States.

But it is just not me that seems to have a problem with this behavior. His usually loyal political allies in the media and news industry also called him out for his cold heartedness:

- Veteran NBC newsboradcaster Tom Brokaw: “So much of politics and national security is a combination of symbolism and reality,” Brokaw said Wednesday. “The reality is that we did have that attack yesterday. It was unnerving to us, it was devastating in Europe.”

“But at the same time, the symbolism is that the president stayed at the baseball game all day long where you would have thought he would have said, ‘Look, we’ve got more business that I have to deal with, I wish you well,’ get on the phone. We’ve got to put together some kind of a bulletproof syndicate to deal with all this.”

“There’s a real urgency about it, and he has got to convey that, not just to the American people but to the world. I think it was Mike Hayden who said he is the leader of the free world, and this is the time to be the leader because this kind of attack can occur again and again and again.”

“This is the time to be the leader.”

- Democratic strategist David Gergen, speaking on CNN: “I think people now, after all the attacks, we’ve had an attack a day around the world for the last 12 days, but after San Bernardino and Paris and Brussels and Ankara and Istanbul, people are looking for more forceful action to actually drive back ISIS and right now, we’re not winning against ISIS.”

“When you go to a baseball game, it looks a little frivolous.” When you’re dancing like that. I — I even think the hard call, he should have thought about coming back and gathering — people are looking for leadership here. I thinks that’s a critical issue for him. Restraint does not equal leadership when you’re under attack like this.”

- Co-host of the TV show, “The View,” Jedediah Bila (keep in mind that “the View” is usually a lovefest when it comes to President Obama): “He’s the leader of the free world … I want my president front and saying ‘Islamic extremism is at the root of this. ISIS claimed credit for this, and we are not going to take this. We are going to fight back.'”

- Co-host of the TV show, “The View,” and CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin: “Jed and I love each other and we don’t always agree. But when I saw President Obama … I didn’t not like seeing him do the wave in Cuba at a baseball game when Americans were injured and over thirty people were killed. You have to be a little more presidential acting than that because optics really matter.”

- MSNBC (keep in mind that MSNBC has also been an Obama cheerleader since day one of this administration) show host and commentator Chris Matthews: "I grew up in a big city, Philadelphia ... when there was a big fire, you want to see the mayor on the other curb, watching it. You want to see the police chief, standing there, the fire chief, you want to see them standing on the curb. You don't want to hear they phoned it in. The president was off base. He wasn't there. What could he have done better by taking a minute away from a baseball game? He had to do something."

- President of the Council on Foreign Relations, Richard Haas, speaking on MSNBC: “It’s fine to go to Argentina, you want to do the work. But you have to be careful of these, these little photo ops and optics. Baseball games and tangos, that’s inconsistent with the seriousness of the day.”

When you long term political allies are saying you are not a leader, you are not Presidential, you are not serious, you are frivolous, etc, you know that you really screwed up.

Maybe the best summary of this less than stellar performance comes from Fox News and Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer, never a fan of Obama, who probably summed up many Americans’ feelings best: “The increasing tempo and sophistication of its operations suggest that it may be poised for a continent-wide guerrilla campaign. In the face of this, Obama remains inert, unmoved, displaying a neglect and insouciance that borders on denial. His non-reaction to the Belgian massacre — his 34-minute speech in Havana devoted 51 seconds to Brussels — left the world as stunned as it was after the Paris massacre, when Obama did nothing.”

Inert, unmoved, neglectful, non-reactionary, not Presidential. Unfortunately, we have a President who is either uncaring or one who has checked out already in the final year of his term. In either case, the world and the rest of us, including many of his political allies, are constantly disappointed by this President’s lack of compassion and inability to recognize “bad optics.” And in this world of a growing terrorist threat, our safety in his dispassionate or disinterested hands, a very scary proposition.
