March, 2018, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Anti Semitic DC Politican, Anti Tax Cut Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi Still Out Of Touch

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let's get started:

1) Stupidity and brain dead statements do not only come from Federal government politicians. Consider the stupidity of the statements from a local DC politicians, as reported by Caleb Hull, writing for the Independent Journal Review on March 18, 2018:

• Trayon White, a member of the town council in Washington, DC, recently blamed a DC snowstorm on Jewish bankers.
• Yes, according to this politician, bankers actually are able to control the weather, a snowstorm in DC, and the climate, calling their ability “climate manipulation.”
• Stupidity in his own words: “Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man. Y’all better pay attention to this climate control, man, this climate manipulation. And D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.”
• When he realized how inane he sounded, he finally apologized: “I work hard everyday to combat racism and prejudices of all kinds. I want to apologize to the Jewish Community and anyone I have offended. The Jewish community have been allies with me in my journey to help people. I did not intend to be anti-Semitic, and I see I should not have said that after learning from my colleagues. I have spoke to leaders and my friends at Jews United for Justice and they are helping me to understand the history of comments made against Jews and I am committed to figuring out ways continue to be allies with them and others..."

How has the “Jewish community have been allies with me” and yet he issues these stupid type of comments? His apology falls far short of being sincere when they are that insulting and bigoted in the first place. 

2) The Trump tax cuts have had a wonderful set of positive outcomes:

• 140 million taxpayers are being taxed at lower levels, both consumers and businesses.
• Over three million Americans received at least a thousand dollars in bonuses as a result of lower business taxes.
• Millions and millions of Americans received a pay raise as a result of the tax cuts including thousands and thousands of Walmart employees.
• Businesses have expanded their education programs for their employees as a result of having more cash from their tax savings.
• Some businesses have expanded their charitable donations since they have excess cash from their tax cuts.
• The unemployment rate at all levels, overall, African American, Hispanic, is plummeting as businesses use the extra cash to expand employment opportunities.

All kinds of good things have happened for over 100 million Americans. Which means that the Democrats insanely want to raise taxes. According to a recent article on the American Liberty website:

• Democrats in Congress recently and publicly declared that if they take over the House of Representative in November they intend to RAISE tax rates for Americans and American businesses.
• In an excellent example of idiocy, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer recently described the Trump tax cuts as “unpopular.” 
• Yeah, getting pay raises, getting large bonuses, getting a lower tax bill, getting better job training, etc. is such a bitch. Talk about being out of touch and delusional.
• Schumer intends to raise the corporate tax rate, robbing companies of cash they have used to satisfy employees, shareholders, and charities, raise taxes on ordinary Americans, and reinstating the alternative minimum tax.

Still no cure for stupidity or robbing taxpayers. Fortunately, Trump would veto any such legislation if it ever did happen but this type of thinking shows again how out of touch American politicians are with reality and the needs of Americans.

3) A recent article on the Eagle Rising website documented another in a long line of inane Nancy Pelosi comments and views of reality. Apparently, she thinks that having a wall to protect the country along the Mexican border is “too high.” Yes, the purpose of the wall is to keep drug runners, human traffickers, gang members, and terrorists out of the country and she thinks the wall is too high.

If the wall is too low then it is useless and a waste of taxpayer money, Ms. Pelosi. Perhaps you do not understand the concept of a wall: “Did you see it? How high it is? … I mean, really? In a civilized society, we [would] do something like that? A wall that big separating people? I mean, really? This is a big wall.” 

Again, perhaps she does not understand the purpose of the wall: it is too separate people and make immigrants obey the laws of the land when it comes to immigration. A short wall is a waste. You cannot make up this type of idiocy and insanity.

That will do it for today’s insanity: Taxation insanity from Schumer, bigoted anti-Semitic insanity from a DC politician, and Nancy Pelosi still out of touch with this world’s reality. More insanity to follow.

March,2018, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: More Political Corruption, FBI Incompetence, and Rampant Illegal Immigrant Criminals In California

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let's get started:

1) We have often talked about how the political class use their influence to enrich themselves and their family and friends. We recently discussed how out of office politicians use the leftover campaign money to line the pockets of friends and family for sometimes years after they left office. Maxine Walters used her Congressional position and power to lobby the Federal government to bailout her husband’s failing bank that he mismanaged into the Great Recession. John Keery steered Federal government taxpayer money to his daughter’s business by bypassing the whole competitive bidding process.

And we now find out that Joe Biden was no different, helping his son get an unfair advantage and get wealthy by abusing his dad’s position as Vice President:

• According to a new book by Government Accountability president Peter Schweizer, Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son, was able to land a billion deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank Of China less than two weeks after Joe Biden allowed his son to travel to China with him in 2013.
• Hunter Biden operates a private equity firm, Rosemont Seneca Bohai.
• Ten days after Hunter Biden went to China aboard the Vice President’s Air Force 2 jet, likely at taxpayer expense, his firm signed an exclusive $1 billion deal with the Bank of China subsidiary, Bohai Capital.
• The deal was later increased to $1.5 billion.

Makes doing business in China a lot easier when your daddy, the Vice President of the United States flies you over and makes the introductions, a perk not available to over 300 million other Americans.

2) The Secret Service used to be a highly respected, almost mythical government service that was given the most important job in the world: protecting the President. But over the past years we have shown how inept they had become or how inept they were finally shown to be. The allowed White House windows to be shot out by a passing gunman. A fence jumper actually got deep into the White House before being brought down. The advance agents for an Obama trip to South America were caught cavorting with hookers, a scenario that may have been financed with drug cartel money. A sad, deep fall for a once respected agency.

But another once highly respected government agency, the FBI, may have fallen further and faster than the Secret Service. Consider the incompetence of this government agency that was documented by the Conservative Zone website:

• The FBI had an incredible amount of warnings that nut case Nikolas Cruz was going to shoot up a Florida school, which he eventually did and killed 17 people in the process. They were told that Cruz had posted a Facebook post where he claimed he would be a “professional school shooter.” The FBI feebly claimed they could not find the poster or source of this statement even though his Facebook username was, wait for it, Nikolas Cruz. Other people had told the FBI that he had weapons and had threatened many times to use them. 
• The FBI had actually known about and had interviewed the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooter, Omar Mateen, but decided that he was not a threat which, unfortunately, turned out not to be the case.
• Back in 2009, the FBI knew that Fort Hood shooter, Army Major Nidal Hasan, had actually been communicating with one of the most horrific terrorists in the world, Anwar al-Awlaki, a known al Qaeda terrorist leader and a terrorist that Obama had assassinated. But they did nothing and Hasan went on to kill 13 and wound dozens. A Congressional investigation found that the massacre could easily have been prevented if FBI agents had just done their job.
• Back in 2013, the FBI had been alerted that one of the Boston Marathon bombers had been in touch with dangerous Islamic terrorists, information that had been passed to the FBI by Russian intelligence services. An FBI agent incorrectly concluded that the brother had “no link” or “nexus to terrorism.” The FBI admitted that they screwed up when the brother visited terror hotbed Dagestan before he and his brother executed the bombings.
• The mishandling of the whole Clinton illegal and unsecured computer server, the mishandling of secret Clinton government documents (with hundreds of them ending up on an unsecured laptop computer of the convicted sex fiend, former Congressman Anthony Weiner), the unethical and possibly illegal airport tarmac meeting of Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton and a whole raft of other 2016 election cycle screwups was the cherry on top of the pile of incompetence the FBI has turned into over the past dozen years or so.

And as a result of this ineptness, billions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted, dozens of Americans have been killed and wounded, and what was once an effective and efficient law enforcement entity is nothing more than an expensive Keystone Kops joke.

3) Enforcement of existing immigration laws was basically a joke during the eight years of the Obama administration. That notion was recently reinforced when a immigration raid in southern California turned up some interesting facts:

• The Federal immigration officials arrested 115 illegal immigrants in their enforcement operation in Imperial and San Diego counties.
• 50 of those arrested, almost half, had previous criminal convictions, not arrests, convictions, and seven others had illegally re-entered the country after being deported.
• One of those arrested was a member of the Center Street Locos criminal gang and who had been convicted for grand theft, selling controlled substances, and drunk driving and yet was still in this country illegally and on the streets.
• Another of those arrested had been convicted of spousal abuse, inflicting injury, and threatening to terrorize and who had actually been deported to Mexico TEN different times!
• And somehow Democrats, especially in California, still think it is a great idea to not deport, arrest, or prosecute illegal immigrants who just happen to be violent criminal types like spouse abusers, drunk driving, grand theft, selling drugs, etc. 

That will do it for today. Illegal immigrants run rampant in southern California, the FBI is now a failed and pathetic law enforcement agency, and the corruption and greed of the political class extends to China via Air Force 2. More to follow.

March, 2018, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Slandering Half of America, Coverups, Greed, and More

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let's get started:

1) Democrats in Washington and elsewhere like to claim they are the party of tolerance and peace. That they are the ones that supposedly despise hate and intolerance. But as you will see in the following video, a half dozen Democratic members of Congress recently met with and fawned over Louis Farrakhan, a black power advocate who is anything but tolerant and peaceful. In the past, he has called for a gathering of young black men to go and kill white people. He has raged against Jews like no other.

And yet, these Congressional members, supposedly members of the tolerance wing of the American political class, obviously enjoy being in his company despite the hate he has spewed over the years:

2) This following scandal has been around for a few years now but a recent article on the Western Journalism website did a nice job summarizing the scandal and how the Washington political class and members of the Federal bureaucracy are so corrupt. And in many instances criminally liable for their actions when it comes to helping and protecting each other to maintain their cozy and enriching relationships at the expense of the rule of law, our freedoms, and integrity of such institutions as the FBI:

• A little background first: Andrew McCabe was the FBI Deputy Director who was responsible for investigating Hillary Clinton and her related criminal infractions including the use of an unsecured computer server.
• At the same time, his wife was running for the state senate in Virginia.
• During the time of his investigation, Clinton political allies donated $1.2 million to McCabe’s wife’s senate political campaign.
• This obvious conflict of interest and despicable act is now under investigation by the FBI inspector general.
• As the political campaign was underway, McCabe found out that classified government and Hillary Clinton emails had ended up on the unsecured laptop computer of Hillary’s top aide's husband, convicted sex fiend and former Congressman Anthony Weiner.
• But rather than announce the findings to Congress, McCabe sat on this information for about a month, with the obvious conclusion being that McCabe was trying to protect Hillary Clinton’s campaign from embarrassment and criminal proceedings until after the election as a return favor for Clinton’s friends’ donations to his wife’s campaign.
• That is the focus of the inspector general’s investigation.
• According to the article: “Andrew McCabe knew about the Abedin-Weiner emails as early as Sept. 28, 2016, when McCabe deputy Peter Strzok texted his FBI lover Lisa Page that he had been “called up to Andy’s office” and told of “hundreds of thousands of emails” turned over by Weiner’s attorney that included “a ton of material from spouse (i.e. Huma Abedin, Hillary’s top aide).”
• Over half a million dollars donated to the McCabe’s wife came from Fredrick Schaufeld who sat on Hillary’s National Finance Committee for the 2016 election.

Just another instance of those in Washington looking out for themselves even if it meant the corruption of the election processes at both the Virginia state level and the national level.

3) We have had a number of politicians that we would nominate for the worse people in Congress list:

• Congressman Hank Johnson thought that the island of Guam could actually tip over in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. 
• Former Congresswoman Corrine Brown was recently sentenced to prison for setting up a fake scholarship program for disadvantaged kids but ended up raiding the program’s funds for use by and on herself.
• Maxine Walters publicly wished that American citizens would die and go to hell for simply having a difference of opinion than hers.
• Sheila Jackson Lee has said any number of stupid things over time including wondering out loud if the Mars Rover expedition would be driving by the place where Neil Armstrong landed on the moon and claiming that North Vietnam and South Vietnam still both existed as separate entities with North Vietnam ruling over South Vietnam.
• And of course, the Congress people we spoke about above who were caught hanging out with famed black racist and anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan.

But courtesy of the Liberty Planet website, we have four more candidates for worst Congressional representatives:

1. California Congressman Adam Schiff tried to legislatively go around the Supreme Court ruling on campaign finance reform, he fought to protect Hillary Clinton and her bungling of the whole Benghazi situation, he voted against funding the military budget, he voted against the Trump tax cuts, he voted against tougher oversight on Iran, and voted yes to keep secret FISA warrants in effect.
2. Texas Congressman Al Green has tried to get Trump impeached even though no impeachable offense has occurred, he voted against the Trump tax cuts, he voted against stronger Iran oversight, he voted against ending the DOJ slush fund for sexual predator settlements, and voted against deporting illegal immigrant gang members.
3. According to the article, Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline, “as the Mayor of Providence, Rhode Island, it was discovered that Cicilline supporters were taking out federal loans via the Providence Economic Development Partnership (PEDP). The taxpayer-backed loans were rarely, if ever, getting paid back and the money found its way into already wealthy Rhode Island business owners. Many of the recipients were ardent supporters of the former mayor and his bid for Congress. Although the PEDP had a high success rate before Cicilline took office, it suffered a staggering 60-percent default rate afterwards.”
4. And of course, no list of useless Washington politicians would be complete without Maxine Walters who represents a low income, high poverty district in California but who does not even live in the district she represents, who lives in a house worth almost $5 million while earning only $174,000 a year, and who has been called a “Poverty Pimp” by voters within her district.

Incompetence, greed, criminal cover-ups, sexist and racist comments, and the slandering of ordinary Americans, the personification of today’s American political class and political insanity. More insanity to follow.

March, 2018, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Reducing our Economic and Personal Freedom and Wasting our Time and Tax Dollars

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let's get started:

1) As Americans, we like to think that we live in a free country. We know that this is usually a false assumption, given how large and intrusive all level of governments have become in this country especially at the Federal level. We have often made the assertion that personal freedom is tightly tied to economic freedom. If we were allowed to keep more and more of our hard earned wealth, we could:

• Expand our kids’ education options.
• We could start a business that was more in line with our life’s desires and preferences.
• We could contribute more to charitable efforts that we have special feelings for.
• We could spend more money on products and services that satisfy our physical, mental, and emotional needs and wants.

Thus, the more we enjoy economic freedom the more personal freedom will come our way.

Every year the Heritage Foundation does an extensive analysis and develops a single index number that ranks and orders every country according to its economic freedom. Their process combines measurements along numerous dimensions including regulatory burden, taxation levels, property rights, etc.

At one time the United States was ranked as one of the top nations in the world when it came to economic freedom. This was not surprising since living in such a free society and nation helped produce the highest level of wealth for our citizens in the history of the world.

Unfortunately, over time that high ranking has taken a beating as our economic freedom has ebbed which has in turn depressed our personal freedoms:

• While the U.S. was once one of the freest countries in the world from an economic perspective, it now ranks as only the 18th freest economic country in the latest analysis.
• Our index has slipped from an index value of about 81 back in 2007-2009 time period, since then, i.e. during the Obama administration, our freedom index as slipped about 7% to 75.7.
• During that time the world’s total economic freedom index value has risen slightly from 59.5 to 61.1, the opposite trend of what our economic freedom index has been.
• If the U.S. had just maintained its index level of 81 or so it would be ranked about the 4th or 5th most free country in the world today, a level that would have vastly improved our economic and personal freedom.
• We are less free from the index’s perspective than two former parts of the Soviet Union, Georgia and Estonia.
• We are less free from the index’s perspective than two Scandinavian countries, Sweden and Denmark, two countries that we usually associate with socialist countries, i.e. countries with suppressive economies and governments.

In other words, the Washington political class in general and the Obama Presidency specifically have repressed both our economic freedom and personal freedom over the past eight years or so, resulting in lower standards of living and freedom for us all.

2) It is not only the Federal government that does insane things and places restrictions on our freedoms and violates common sense. Often it is more local levels of government and politicians that just do stupid things, wasting our time, freedom, and wealth in the process. Consider some recent examples from Reason magazine:

• In 2017 in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, a government probation officer ripped a pair of pants chasing a perp. He asked his department to pay to replace those pants that were damaged while he was performing his government job, a cost to the county of about $60. When the county refused to pony up the $60, he took his case to court where a judge ordered the county to pay the $60 but only after the county government spent and wasted $4,285 of taxpayer wealth fighting the issue.
• In theory, government is supposed to help its citizens. But apparently that is not the case with government and politicians in the city of Malibu, California. There town officials are pressuring a local United Methodist church to stop its twice weekly free meal program for homeless people since it thinks that such a program will attract more homeless Americans to the city. Guess it is better to let the local homeless go hungry than to alleviate at least some of the despair in their lives.
• Crime has gotten so bad in some Philadelphia neighborhoods that local store owners have been putting up bullet proof glass between their cashiers and customers to protect their employees from criminal violence. Rather than address the underlying causes of the criminal violence in the city, Councilwoman Cindy Bass is ticked off at the business owners who are just protecting themselves and their employees,claiming that the glass is an insult to the local residents. She is so upset she is sponsoring a law that would prohibit store owners from protecting their assets via bulletproof glass while not addressing the root causes of the bulletproof glass. In her mind it is better to place local residents in danger of violence in their jobs than possibly hurt a local resident’s feelings.
• We have often written about how badly the Veterans Administration serves veterans. There have been numerous confirmed instances where the long waiting lines and poor medical support of our veterans probably contributed to their early deaths. Well, apparently the VA, according to USA Today, has repeatedly hired healthcare workers who have lost malpractice claims, indicating that possibly many doctors within the VA would not be allowed to practice medicine anywhere else as a result of incompetence but are welcomed at the VA. This practice that not only endangers veterans’ health but is also a violation of existing Federal law.
• Americans spent a lot of taxpayer money to help Puerto Rico get back on its feet after being devastated by a hurricane. But apparently the local political class and government bureaucracy is so corrupt on the island that armed Federal agents found it necessary to raid a local warehouse. There they found taxpayer funded materials and equipment that was meant to restore power throughout the island but instead was being hoarded by the local Puerto Rico Electric Power authority.
• Sometimes government gets so big and so incompetent that it cannot get out of its own way. A bicycle owner in Clearwater, Florida was cited and fined for installing an illegal bike rack outside of his bicycle shop. The sad thing is that the very government that cited him for this violation was the actual entity that had installed the bike rack to begin with, the local store owner had nothing to do with it’s installation.
• Up in Vermont, the Green Mountain Care Board, which I am assuming is some type of government entity, ordered the Copley Hospital’s orthopedic division to stop doing so many surgeries since it does too many operations and generates too much revenue. Apparently there was no issue with the quality of the operations or the necessity of the operations, it is just that some government agency arbitrarily decided that a private business was too successful and in this case, relieving the pain and agony of too many patients, and had to stop the two grievous acts of helping people in need and making money in the process. Horrors.

Restricting our economic freedom and personal freedom, wasting our taxpayer dollars, and doing just stupid stuff to the people it is supposed to serve. Yep, just another day of political class ineptness and shenanigans. More to follow.
