May, 2020,Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Ocasio-Cortex Ignores Her Own Citizens, CBS Allegedly Caught Doing Fake News, and More Politician Hypocrisy

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) We have often and recently discussed the irritating trait of American politicians when they think and act like they are above the law and above government rules and regulations. Their “do as I say, not as I do” is so irritating, childish and selfish. We have already reviewed this behaviors in previous posts of selfish politicians disobeying their own edicts but since then there have even more hypocrites:

• We already reported that NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio had a gym reopen solely for himself so he could exercise even though he shut down all of the other city gyms for regular citizens.
• Turns out that he also decided to take a walk in the park with his wife even though he forbade regular folks from doing the same thing, getting out and getting some fresh air and a little exercise, only he could do that.
• We have previously reported on how the mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, went and got her hair done even though she forbade every other Chicago citizen from doing the same thing.
• She then doubled down on her stern, stay at home edict, by threatening to arrest anyone who dared to go out and about in the city even though she had done exactly that.
• While a public service announcement from his wife, Michelle Obama, was being broadcast urging everyone to stay home and stay safe, her husband Barack was being driven forty miles out to the Virginia countryside to play a round of golf.
• We have previously reported on how the mayor of Beaumont, Texas, Becky Ames, had enacted a strict stay at home edict for her town but then and went out and broke her own stay at home edict by forcing a nail salon to open so she could get her nails manicured.
• There are reports that the wife of the billionaire governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, has broken her husband’s ban on traveling and has flown to the family's property in Florida to wait out the pandemic, a charge that the governor found reprehensible but did not deny.
• According to the Washington Post, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took heat in mid-April when he traveled to join his family at his summer residence in Quebec despite quarantining most of his citizens to their homes.

Seems to never end, politicians put burdens of all kinds on us but always seem to escape consequences when they break those same burdens, rules and laws, whether it is insider trading, taxation, or breaking their very own stay at home orders.

2) Project Veritas is an underground news reporting agency in that they secretly and sometimes openly video record situations that show crooked and corrupt politicians and/or news agencies when explaining the world. Uncovering lies, coverups, and corruption has been the hallmark of Project Veritas and their track record in this area is of the highest quality and integrity.

Now, we have often pointed out in this blog that we now expect most politicians to be liars, corrupt, and inept. That is where a free and vibrant press is necessary in any democracy to seek out and report the truth. Unfortunately, as we have shown far too many times, for the most part we no longer have an unbiased, truth and in integrity journalism industry in this country. For the most part, journalism today does not protect us from lies, it does not protect our democracy, it is part of the problem of the corruption in the political class.

A recent situation involving the national CBS News organization is alleged to have happened in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, a situation that Project Veritas has reported on with several onsite eye witnesses:

• Apparently, a CBS News team went to a medical facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan to report on the pandemic.
• According to Project Veritas and eyewitnesses, the number of patients waiting to be treated was not longer enough for the new team, so they recruited first responders to get in line to make the medical situation look worse than it was.
• This not only took first responders away from attending to actual sick people but also put them close to potentially sick patients and thus, endangering the health of those first responders.
• According to one of the nurses on staff at the facility: “We knew they (CBS) was coming, had no clue we were going to have to like do fake patients. There were real patients which made it worse.”
• According to the CEO of Project Veritas, James O’Keefe: “Our insider witnessed the whole thing and came to Project Veritas because he knew we would protect him. The insider told us that medical personnel were taken away from treating patients and making the line longer for actual patients wait for the COVID-19 test.”
• Specifically, O'Keefe asked the whistleblower: “You’re telling me you’re a hundred percent certain that CBS News, CBS News Corporation–national, staged a fake event. They faked the news. They faked the reality and broadcasted that to all of their audience last Friday on ‘CBS This Morning.'”
• To which the insider responded: “A hundred percent. Absolutely.”
• Nick Ross works at the medical facility and this is what he saw: “Apparently the news crew wanted more people in the line because they knew it was scheduled.” 
• Another employee, Maria Hernandez-Vaquez, told Veritas that it was Cherry Health Director of Quality and Informatics Glenda Walker who turned the first responders into fake patients.
• Another nurse told Veritas:“It’s just annoying cause we could have done other stuff. We knew they were coming. We had no clue that we’re going to have to, like, do fake patients.” 
• The first responders were asked to line up their cars outside of the building to make it look as if the line of potential coronavirus victims was longer than it actually was.According to nurse Alison Mauro: “We pretended. There were a couple of real patients, which made it worse.” 
• CBS News and the management of the facility denied any such thing happened: “CBS News did not stage anything at the Cherry Health facility. Any suggestion to the contrary is 100% false. These allegations are alarming. We reached out to Cherry Health to address them immediately. They informed us for the first time that one of their chief officers told at least one staffer to get in the testing line along with real patients. No one from CBS News had any knowledge of this before tonight. They also said that their actions did not prevent any actual patients from being tested. We take the accuracy of our reporting very seriously and we are removing the Cherry Health portion from the piece.” 
• Shortly thereafter, the CBS news piece disappeared.

Obviously, all of this is alleged. But the sad thing is that I trust the reporting of Project Veritas over the denial of CBS News and this is why democracy is in trouble: we no longer trust established news and journalism organizations to deliver unbiased, correct, and accurate realities.

3) Let’s finish up today with a visit with the best Congressional and most ignorant gaffe machine to come along in a long time, Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez. We used to report a lot about her gaffes, ignorance, and just plain silly talking points. However, much like too much caffeine or alcohol, at some point you just have to give it up because it is not good for your health.

One of our main gripes with her is how she is more interested in helping illegal immigrants in this country than her own constituents. She jets all over the country lecturing everyone on how we mistreat illegal immigrants, who are here illegally, but does not seem to care about the homeless, hungry, and now quarantined frightened citizens in her Congressional district.

New York City has been Ground Zero for the pandemic in this country, you would have hoped she was working hard to make sure her American citizens were getting medical help, financial help and any other aid, health and hope they needed. I am sure that her district has suffered greatly, much like every other part of the city has suffered.

But no, she has gone on a tirade about illegal immigrants across the country and how they are not getting stimulus money, even though the are law breaking illegal immigrants: “Undocumented people pay taxes. So these folks, the folks that are working the farms to feed us, the people that are delivering our groceries and driving us from one place to another or doing our laundry and cleaning our clothes and our homes—these people pay taxes. They pay for the very recovery funds that they are being cut out of on city, state or federal levels, and so we have to make sure they get their fair share and that they are included.”

First of all, I have no idea and neither does she how much illegal immigrant workers pay in taxes in this country. They are illegal, they would want most of their wages in cash in order to not be visible in the financial markets that would likely make them visible ot immigration officials. To assume they are fine, upstanding tax paying people on the whole is ludicrous.

She goes on to say what a great job California is doing paying out American tax dollars to illegal immigrants. Again, why is she worried more about illegal immigrants in California than American citizens in her own Congressional district? Her ignorance and disregard for her own people continues to baffle.

That will do it for today: Ocasio-Cortez still with the bad priorities, CBS News still likely doing the whole fake news routine, and politicians everywhere continuing to practice the “do as I say, not as I do” mantra. Insane.

May, 2020, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: The Coronavirus's Orwellian Implications And More Implications

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

1) Anyone who wants to live free and live in a free country is always suspicious when a government official or politician says they are impinging on your freedom for “your own good.” Because this is how freedom is destroyed, little by little so that before you know it, government and the political class has destroyed your liberty by a thousand cuts.

George Orwell illustrated that in his novel, 1984. Government surveillance was everywhere in that story in order to “protect” citizens and keep them safe. In reality, it was a form of control, to monitor and if necessary, take repressive steps against one’s freedom as a result of that monitoring.

This type of 1984 behavior has been growing and growing inside the authoritarian state of China for some time and the country’s political class and government functions there have used the coronavirus to accelerate that control and repression, as reported by CNN:

• As a result of the virus, the government is installing surveillance cameras outside of citizens' front doors to make sure they stay under quarantine per government orders relative to the coronavirus pandemic.
• Even worse, some citizens are reporting that government operatives have actually placed surveillance cameras INSIDE people’s homes under the premise that they need to make sure that those under quarantine don't leave their homes during the quarantine period.
• Irishman Ian Lahiffe lives in Beijing and when he returned from a trip to southern China he found a camera being installed to watch his front door: "(Having a camera outside your door is) an incredible erosion of privacy. It just seems to be a massive data grab. And I don't know how much of it is actually legal."

• Apparently, according to CNN, there is no specific law that regulates or bans the use of surveillance cameras on citizens that have committed no crimes.
• And there was no indication whether these cameras are being taken down after one’s quarantine period.
• But this should not surprise us since China’s citizens are probably under more government surveillance than any other people in the world.
• According to government broadcaster CCTV, over 20 million cameras have been installed in the country since 2017 to watch citizens movements and actions.
• IHS Markit Technology estimates that the country has a whopping 349 million surveillance cameras installed around the country.
• In fact, eight of the top ten cities in the world relative to surveillance cameras per 1,000 residents are in China.

So when our politicians start lecturing us on how to behave during a health crisis, how they insist that we stay home and stay afraid, how quickly their smile escalates into a stern warning and arrests, think about how their ranting and raving is just a few short steps away from China's 1984 surveillance behavior. 

Politicians usually do not facilitate freedom, they almost always curtail it. And step by step, you go from a friendly politician's smile telling us they know best to having cameras installed outside our doors to track our movements and restrict our freedom.

2) Michael Flynn was a member of Trump’s election staff. However, he ran afoul of the FBI that was supposedly looking into the Trump campaign collusion with Russia. He ended up getting accused and persecuted for what at the time seemed like some pretty weak evidence of him misbehaving and collaborating with the Russians to fix the 2016 Presidential election.

Well, it turns out that he was not the guilty party, the FBI and its relentless and uncalled for hounding of him was the guilty party:

• Newly released FBI documents showed that the FBI were far out of integrity and official investigation protocols in order to entrap Flynn for actions he never did in an attempt to overthrow the Trump administration.
• According to notes and documents that were written by former FBI head of counterintelligence, William Priestap, after a meeting with James Comey and Andrew McCabe, the highest ranking FBI executives at the time, we now know that the FBI was more interested in trapping Flynn in a lie than actually investigating any crime relative to the Russians.
• For instance, one note read: “What is our goal? Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?”
• George Washington University Law Professor, Jonathan Turley, said the notes and documents should scare the daylights out of any liberty loving Americans given the abuse of power within the FBI and the Justice Department: “We need to hear from the DOJ official on the meaning of this note. However, the reference to the Logan Act is particularly chilling. It suggests the use of a flagrantly unconstitutional act to trap a top Trump official. This is just one document (though more is expected to be released). However, it adds troubling new details to an already dubious prosecution by the Justice Department. The clear impression is that the DOJ sought to bag a top Trump official in legal version of a canned hunt.”
• In other Priestap notes, he references the concerns of FBI investigating agents who were worried they were jeopardizing the FBI by going after Flynn along political lines, not criminal lines: “If we’re seen as playing games, White House will be furious.” 
• Flynn avoided major charges and pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI but claims he only plead guilty to that charge because of duress from the investigation which in reality was a political witch hunt.
• His lawyer, Sidney Powell summarized what the new documents mean: “It’s just absolutely appalling what these agents, and then special counsel operatives, did to General Flynn. It’s abuse of their authority at every turn. I interpret the notes as absolutely damning of their conduct and their plan. They rejected the advice of the apparent lawyer who wrote on the handwritten note that they not play games with the White House and instead that is exactly what they did.”

Abuse of power and attacks on freedom. Whether it is government operatives in China watching your every move even though you did nothing wrong or harmful or crooked, or high ranking government officials here who are undermining people’s votes and First Amendment rights by focusing the full weight of the Federal government on an innocent citizen, 1984 is not that far away.

3) It seems when a liberal or Democrat these days doesn't agree with a citizen’s viewpoint, rather than sit down and have a mature, adult conversation of the issue, they almost always and immediately play the race card. And current Democratic Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer, is no exception. 

The governor has been under fire recently because of the draconian and often stupid restrictions she has placed on her state’s citizens as a result of the coronarvirus pandemic. For example, you cannot buy paint, gardening tools and seeds during her lock down unless you buy it from a store that is less than 50,000 square feet in size. Makes no sense.

Rather than selectively apply lock down rules around the state based on regional situations, a large state that has far different rates of the virus, she has blanketed the whole, large state with the same restrictions. For example, the vast number of infections in the state are in and around the city of Detroit. The rate of infections in the upper peninsula of the state are far lower. Thus, citizens in the far away areas from serious infections are chafing under restrictions that make no sense and rob them of their freedom and jobs.

As a result of her nonsensical approach to the pandemic, the state capital has been the scene of protests from citizens exercising their First Amendment rights to question the wisdom of her insane rules. Rather than listen to what they say and consider some rational alternatives, if any, she immediately played the racist card when discussing the peaceful protests: “There were swastikas and Confederate flags and nooses and people with assault rifles. Some of the outrageousnesses of what happened at our capitol depicted some of the worst racism and awful parts of our history in this country.”

Some major things wrong with this pig headed approach to the crisis and citizen concerns:

• She actually afterwards admitted that those she is causing racists were actually a very small portion of the overall peaceful protests.
• So, she first overreacts and gives the impression that the protests were not concerned citizens but a Ku KLux Klan rally only to then back off of it.
• To be honest, I looked at a lot of the photos from the protests and saw nothing of the sort so she is either lying, I just missed these photos of confederate flags and such or it was a miniscule portion of the protesters.
• Regardless, the First Amendment allows citizens to protest government actions any way they want.
• From a rifle perspective, the Second Amendment allows citizens to be armed and current Michigan law allows those arms to be carried openly, thus, her complaining about the rifles is another assault on the Bill of Rights.

And like we said, rather than actually considering that maybe these citizens have a good point or suggestion to make, she rejects them out of hand, attacks the First and Second Amendment rights, and plays the race card like a coward.

Not a good post for freedom today. China watching its citizens’ every move, both before and now more intensely during the pandemic, the top law enforcement entity in the country ignoring rules and laws in order to upset an election, and a state governor who does not respect the First Amendment, the Second Amendment and is a race baiter. 1984 is not that far away.

May, 2020, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: Politicians Lack Of A Moral Compass, re: Joe Biden and Democratic Mayors

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) While we have never been in agreement with just about any thing Joe Biden has said over the years, we do feel sorry for him these days. We believe that he is in the midst of a significant cognitive decline and propping him up as the assumed Democratic Presidential candidate is a form of elder abuse. His inability to form sentences and thoughts, his forgetfulness, his aggression against others that disagree with him make him a candidate for any number of aging maladies. It is a shame that he is being forced through this political process.

But as long as Democrats put him forth, we will continue to point out instances where it is quite apparent he is not mentally fit to take on the rigors of being President:

• In a recent TV interview on Politics Nation, Biden could not remember the name of the virus that is sweeping the world even though it has been the only topic of news for months now.
• Specifically: “Everyone who, in fact, gets— is found to have the, uh, the, uh, the COVID, uh, 19 virus...” 
• He continued, starting to wander off topic: “Look, uh, I, I, I just, if, if— if we hadn’t had the circumstances that occurred last election, we’d have a woman president now. I’d be out campaigning for the reelection of Hillary Clinton.”
• Later in the interview he attacked Trump and then apologized for not remembering where he got the information he used in the attack: : "I apologize for not remembering."
• There were claims that he needed a teleprompter during the interview to remember to say what he wanted to say and yet, he still botched the questions.

Again, we feel sorry for him but he is fair game if he puts himself out there to be President. It is obvious that cognitively he is in worsening shape. 

Earlier the day of the above interview, he was interviewed on the MSNBC show, Morning Joe, where he claimed that 600,000 Americans had already died from the coronavirus. That estimate is about tens times higher than the official death toll. No news or government source, reputable or disreputable, has made such a high estimate. He is just out of touch with reality and should never get close to being President, given his mental faculties at this point in time.

2) Besides his loss of mental acuity, his history of fondling, touching, smelling,and possibly sexually assaulting women and girls is getting wider and more disgusting. We have already discussed the accusation made by formal staffer Tara Reade how Biden had sexually assaulted her years ago. He has a well known history of touching, fondling and grossing out both women and young girls over the years.

At least nine women and girls have accused Biden of being too handsy and sexually aggressive with them, a list that was recently documented in a Breitbart article by John Nolte:

• Tara Reade - as we have previously discussed, Ms. Reade has accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in a hallway when she worked for him back in 1993. She accuses him of pinning her against a wall, shoving his hands up her skirt and penetrating her. There are five people who have come forward to say she had told them about the assault at the time. There is also a video from Larry King’s CNN show back then that allegedly contains a phone call made into the show by Ms. Reade’s mom, describing the attack and asking for advice on how to go forward. Biden has refused access to his Senate papers,which are stored at the University of Delaware, papers which may contain the original complaint that Reade filed.
• Lucy Flores - Ms. Flores, a former assemblywomen from Nevada has accused Biden of touching and kissing her without her permission: “I felt two hands on my shoulders. I froze. “Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me?” I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair. I was mortified. I thought to myself, “I didn’t wash my hair today and the vice-president of the United States is smelling it. And also, what in the actual fuck? Why is the vice-president of the United States smelling my hair?” He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head.”
• Amy Lappos - Ms. Lappos has claimed that Biden grabbed at her during a 2009 fundraiser: "It wasn’t sexual, but he did grab me by the head. He put his hand around my neck and pulled me in to rub noses with me. When he was pulling me in, I thought he was going to kiss me on the mouth.”
• Vail Kohnert-Yount - When Ms. Kohnert-Yount was a White House intern in 2013, Biden “put his hand on the back of [her] head and pressed his forehead to [her] forehead’ when he introduced himself, and that he called her a ‘pretty girl.’” 
• Caitlyn Caruso - During a spring, 2016 conference on sexual assault, Ms. Caruso claims that Biden put his hand on her thigh for “an uncomfortable amount of time.”
• D.J. Hill - Ms. Hill Claims that Biden got so handsy with her that her husband had to step in: “Writer D. J. Hill told the Times that Biden moved his hand from Caruso’s shoulder down her lower back, which made her uncomfortable at an event, causing her husband to intervene.” This incident was reported by the New York Times, certainly a Democratic loving newspaper.
• Sofie Karasek - At the 2016 Oscars, Ms. Karasek described her interactions with Biden and that he had violated her personal space.
• Ally Coll - Ms. Coll claims that Biden made her very uncomfortable at a 2008 reception by touching her without permission, squeezing her shoulders, and complimenting her on her smile, all of which went on for an uncomfortably long time.
• Not included in the Breitbart list is the latest accuser, Eva Murray. Ms. Murray recounted an incident back in 2008 when she was 14 years old. This allegedly happened at an annual political event in Delaware. Biden asked Ms. Murry how old she was and she answered she was 14 years old, Biden complimented her on how big her breasts were for a girl so young, that she “was well endowed.” Ms. Murry claimed that he looked her up and down while making the comment: “I remember walking into the lobby and being in awe of all the people in such fancy clothes. Our two parties of people gravitated towards each other and everyone started saying their hellos. When it was Biden and my aunt’s turn to say hello he quickly turned to me and asked how old I was. I replied with my age and he replied with the comment ‘Fourteen? You’re very well endowed for 14!’ I was confused but it was definitely weird, he looked me up and down and hovered his eyes on my chest so I had some clue [about] the notion of his comment but didn’t fully understand at the time. We quickly separated from his area after the encounter.”

Pretty Disgusting stuff if true. And these are only the women and girls that have come forward, there may be others that are too scared or too embarrassed to do so. As we have said before, if Democrats don't want to be viewed as massive hypocrites, given the aggressive and unwarranted scrutiny they used to go after Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, they must do the same scrutiny with Biden, a candidate to be President.

Between his failing cognitive abilities and his alleged sexual predator tendencies there is no way he should sit in the Oval Office from both a competency and morality perspective.

Note: the Breibart article pointed out that many of those accusing Biden are Democratic voters.

4) Over the years we have often pointed out how the American political class stands by the mantra, "Do as I say, not as I do.” Recently we have pointed out a number of times during the coronavirus crisis they have continued this sick tradition:

• The mayor of NYC closed down the city’s gyms to avoid spreading the virus but he allowed himself to go out and got to the gym so that he could stay strong and healthy in the face of the virus, implying that the rest of the city residents, who couldn't go to a gym should stay safe at home and weak and unhealthy.
• The mayor of Chicago broke her own stay at home edict and and another edict that shut down the city’s hair salons and barber shops to go get her hair done, telling the city residents that while they had to stay home and avoid hair salons and look ugly, she had to stay pretty since she was a public figure.

Total lack of leadership on both counts. Rather than setting an example and following their own advice, they basically said screw my constituents, I will do what makes me happy, they can stay unhappy under my orders.

Well, that political trend of hypocrisy recently popped up in Texas:

• Becky Ames is the mayor of Beaumont, Texas.
• Like many mayors around the country she ordered her citizens to shelter at home to avoid spreading the virus and endangering fellow citizens.
• But apparently her orders to stay inside and venture out for only essential tasks (food shop, medical treatment, or essential jobs) do not apply to her.
• She is currently being investigated by the local district attorney for violating her edict since she went out and forced a nail salon to open up, against her edict, so that she could get her nails manicured.
• I would think that most people would not classify getting one’s nails done at a salon to be an “essential” task.
• Well, it did not take long for a picture of her getting her manicure to hit the news and Internet and forced her backtrack and apologize for being such an elite snob, forcing her constituents to stay home while she flaunted her own orders for a trivial reason, pretty fingernails.
• Specifically: “I promise there was no malice intended. I should never have entered the salon last Tuesday. I did not intend to take personal privilege while asking others to sacrifice and for that I am truly remorseful. As an elected official I am held to a higher standard, I regret my action that day. I am honestly sorry and I pray that you will forgive me.” 

Sorry mayor, this apology is too little too late. If you were any kind of leader and compassionate person, this type of behavior should have never entered into your mindset. If an ordinary citizen had made the same apology, it would carry no weight in the face of your own edict. Thus, your apology should carry no weight also. Your lack of leadership, and the lack of leadership of the mayors in NYC and Chicago and everywhere else in the political class is disgusting but not unexpected.

The lack of morals, whether it is inappropriately molesting women and children, or assuming that rules don't apply do you is rampant across the American political class, a class of people who never fail to disappoint when it comes to brains, leadership and morals.

By The Numbers: How Far The Journalism Professional Has Fallen From a Truth And Integrity Perspective - The Tara Reade Story

On a periodic basis we do some posts that fall under the theme of “by the numbers.” Rather than trust what the American political tells us about reality, we like to examine the real numbers and the real reality in the world to understand what is actually going on. Relying on politicians, and their cohorts in the media, to tell us what is reality is always a sucker bet. They have their own agendas and goals, usually centering around their needs and self-enrichment. So we need to look at the reality of the numbers to determine what is really going on.

This is the third and final post this month where we look at the numbers to truly find out how good, not likely, or bad, most likely, the American political class is doing in managing our tax dollars, protecting our freedoms, and resolving major issues that affect all of us. 

It has always been our position and opinion that an unbiased, aggressive, and truthful news industry is critical to freedom and democracy. A news and journalism industry with integrity and smarts allows the public to be educated in an unbiased way in order to make the correct decisions at voting time and also keep politicians and government employees in line from a corruption perspective.

Unfortunately, that is not the case with journalism and news reporting in this country today. Rather than be in integrity and report news and happenings in an unbiased, and straightforward, honest manner, news media sources and organizations today have decided that they want or do not want to support certain political entities and government institutions. As a result, their reporting is biased, incomplete, deviously deceptive, and a disgrace.

No where has this disregard for truth and integrity been more obvious than the recent news about a woman named Tara Reade. Ms. Reade has come forward, with some pretty good evidence, that Presidential candidate Joe Biden brutally sexually assaulted her many, many years ago when he was a Senator. 

When these types of accusations were leveled at then Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the left leaning news outlets in this country went into a detailed feeding frenzy about how the, now discredited, women had accused Kavanaugh of similar actions. The news was biased and unfair and basically assumed that Kavanaugh was guilty of heinous actions before the facts and discussion had even started, before he could even speak up in his defense.

And of course, Democrats were more than happy to get into the act in order to attack and undermine their mortal enemy, President Trump. Never mind facts, never mind that all of the women coming forth to accuse Kavanaugh had little if any evidence to prove their accusations, the press and Democrats attacked an innocent man with a vengeance that was unfair and unwarranted, using unfounded sexual accusations as justification.

But Tara Reade comes along and makes the same accusations that Kavanaugh had to endure against a major Democrat, Joe Biden. If the world was just and the left leaning media and Democrats were unbiased and within integrity, then we should expect a media storm assuming that Biden was guilty of heinous acts against Ms. Reade and then make Biden prove that Reade is a liar, much like they did with the Kavanaugh accusations. But as the numbers show, as of a week ago, the hypocrisy of the press and Democrats is unbelievable:

• The Media Research Center has put together some numbers on the coverage of the Tara Reade accusations.
• A month after the accusations came to light, ABC News and NBC News spent a combined total of 0 minutes covering the story.
• CBS News had spent 63 second covering the story.
• PBS had given it 7 minutes of coverage.
• MSNBC spent only 4 minutes on the story.
• CNN spent 0 minutes on the coverage until the MRC posted CNN’s own video from 1993 which seemed to validate Reade’s accusation, 31 days after the Reade accusations became public.
• And it was not like the networks and news organizations could not ask Biden about the accusations since Biden recently did interviews on ABC, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC.
• But of the 77 questions he was asked during these interviews by all of these news organizations, not a single question pertained to Ms. Reade.
• They ignored the issue even though a Larry King clip from his CNN show seemed to capture a call in from Ms. Reade’s mom discussing the alleged assault by Biden.
• And CNN still did not address the scandal.
• Thus, during the month since Ms. Ready made her accusations public, the major news organizations across the country spent a total of 27 minutes addressing the accusations.
• CNN scheduled three get togethers with Biden and during those three interviews asked him 33 questions, none of which had to do with Reade.
• MSNBC interviews with Biden asked him 22 questions none of which involved Ms. Reade.
• So let’s do the math: 6 major news organizations (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN,MSNBC, and PBS) times 30 days times 24 hours a day equals 4,320 hours of news broadcasting time.
• 27 minutes on the accusations results in the major news outlets spending .01% of their broadcast time covering a major sex scandal involving a Presidential candidate. 
• In a surprising change of attitude, the usually left biased New York Time actually did a story on her accusations, discussing in great detail the accusation that Biden “pinned her to a wall in a Senate building, reached under her clothing and penetrated her with his fingers.”
• And it was not just news entities that refused to acknowledge the accusations since during a 24 minute interview on The Late Late Show, Biden was asked 0 questions on the Reade accusations. 
• Compare this hypocritical paltry coverage to the coverage of the unfounded sex accusations against Kavanaugh.
• Within 12 days of the accusations arising about Kavanaugh, ABC, NBC and CBS devoted six hours to the unsubstantiated accusations.
• These six hours do not include the coverage that CNN, MSNBC, and PBS devoted to the Kavanaugh issue.
• So in 12 days, just the three networks, ABC, NBC,and CBS, used up six HOURS of coverage while in the first 30 days of the Reade accusations, these networks plus CNN, MSNBC, and PBS devoted only 24 MINUTES to the coverage.
• During the Kavanaugh circus, the networks and others on the left kept putting forth the mantra, “believe all women,” regardless if there is any proof to the allegations.
• During the Reade accusations, the same news organizations have more or less “ignored all women,” namely Tara Reade.

You get the point: the biased coverage of both situations, the over coverage of the Kavanaugh situation and the under coverage of the Tara Reade situation shows in stark contrast how far the journalism profession and the news entities in this country have fallen from the high journalistic standards of the four “Cs”: context, correctness, clarity, and communication. This is just the most obvious example where journalists today are not only failing their industry but failing the country, refusing or unable to provide unbiasedness, truth and integrity in their reporting. 

And as a free people, we are far worse off. We have survived bad leaders, inept and corrupt politicians, stupid government programs. I'm not sure we can survive as a free country when the main bastion against tyranny, a free, unbiased press no longer exists. The numbers don't lie.

Note: since the MRC article containing the above analysis was published, a few of the news entities have devoted more time to the accusations, probably not because they wanted to but because the issue, the elephant in the room, became too large to ignore any longer.
