Election 2020, Part 1: The First Invalid Presidential Election In Our History?

I have voted in every Presidential election for decades. I have never voted for a Republican for President and thus, I did not vote for Donald Trump either time.

Thus, I think I can say without much bias that this just completed Presidential election is shaping up to be a disgrace to democracy given that it is highly likely it was corrupted, manipulated, and outright fixed by so many people and entities across the country. Ballots were lost, ballots were found in garbage cans, computers were hacked, computers inadvertently moved votes from one candidate to another, ballots showed up in polling places with no chain of command security protocols followed, politicians announced results days before the voting took place.

I am sure some of the potential incidents of voter fraud and cheating were incorrect. But I am sitting on almost 200 news reports of, call them, “voting irregularities,” enough to convince me that this was the most dishonest, poorly handled, and obscene election process, abuses of First Amendment rights and the “one person, one vote” tenet that is basic to our democracy.

Over the next few days I will be pulling out a lot of those 200 news reports and briefly discussing what allegedly happened. I can not say all of these news reports are true and I cannot say all of these news reports are false.

But when people are arrested, when people admit on video that they cheated, when there are videos made of people delivering box loads of ballots in the middle of the night, I think the evidence is pretty clear that the corruption in this election was real and widespread.

I am not drawing any conclusions but consider the following reality: the voting locales where most of the corruption occurred was almost ALL in Democratic party controlled areas: Democratically controlled cities, Democratically controlled counties, and Democratically controlled states and happened mostly in states that were considered “swing state” in the election. In other words, the states that could go either way and a nudge here or a nudge there, from a voting corruption perspective could make all the difference.

Each of these incidents are sourced by the organization that reported the voting fraud. I am not going to do a deep dive into each story but by providing the source, you can follow up and decide for yourself whether or not the voting abuse and corruption allegation is legit.

1) Daily Wire - the Daily Wire reported that Texas law enforcement personnel have arrested a social worker and have charged the worker with 134 FELONY counts of election fraud: “Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that his Election Fraud Unit assisted the Limestone County Sheriff and District Attorney in charging Kelly Reagan Brunner, a social worker in the Mexia State Supported Living Center (SSLC), with 134 felony counts of purportedly acting as an agent and of election fraud. State Supported Living Centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Brunner submitted voter registration applications for 67 residents without their signature or effective consent, while purporting to act as their agent.”

2) Conservative Institute - According to the Michigan Republican party, a whistleblower has come forward who alleges that city and state government officials told election workers to backdate ballots that arrived after the voting deadline, a violation of election law: “The MIGOP has referred a whistleblower case to the U.S. Attorney in which a city of Detroit employee was directed to change the date of receipt, in the official election record on ballots which had been received after the deadline“

3) Townhall - Michigan voting officials in a Michigan county have confirmed that a voting system they used to tally votes, a system from Dominion Voting Systems, shifted 6,000 votes from Trump to Biden do to a “software glitch.” An alert poll worker noticed some strange things in the voting tallies and the glitch was found and corrected, swinging those Trump votes back to Trump. The distressing thing about this incident is that the same voting system is used in four dozen Michigan counties and dozens of states, raising the suspicion that maybe those 6,000 votes were not the only votes that mysteriously moved from Trump to Biden.

4) Townhall - The board of elections director of Bucks County Pennsylvania admitted that a poll worker had violated state and Federal law when so-called “spoiled ballots” were torn up and thrown away and not held for the 22 months as required by law. A Project Veritas reporter recovered an untorn ballot from the trash and confronted the election director: "So, just to reiterate, this does appear like an official ballot and the rules were not followed correctly, right?" the journalist asked to which the director replied, "That's what it looks like."

Of course, the question remains, how many of these ballots were actually “spoiled” and how many were legit ballots that were discarded because of who the voter voted for. And also, how many of these ballots were illegally destroyed?

5) Jill Stokke lives in Nevada. Unfortunately, Jill Stokke was not able to vote in this recent election. When she went down to her polling place, she was turned away even though she was a registered Nevada voter. The reason? Someone else had already voted in her name via a mail-in ballot which voided her right to vote. Which raises the question: was she the only one to have her voted voided in this way or were there dozens, hundreds, or thousands of other living, and dead. Nevadans who also had their vote stolen?

6) Big League Politics/Project Veritas - according to their reporting, a Pennsylvania Post Office official is willing to testify that Post Office personnel back dated mail in ballots that should have not legally been counted as valid.

7) Project Veritas - Post Office employee, Brandon Wilkson, of Buffalo, New York was arrested at the Canadian border and charged with criminal complaint and delaying or destruction of mail. The charge is serious and carries a penalty of upwards of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. You see, when stopped at the border, his trunk had a load of undelivered mail including a load of undelivered ballots.

According to U.S. Attorney James Kennedy: “This Office is committed not only to ensuring the integrity of the mails but also of individuals’ rights to vote in a free and fair election. The criminal conduct with which this defendant is alleged to have engaged, undermined both of those interests.”

7) United Daily - The state of Pennsylvania was sued by the Trump campaign who claim that Republican representatives were not given fair access to observe the vote counting procedures in the state.

8) Kayleigh McEanany, former Trump advisor, tweeted out some additional voting irregularities:
  • In Rochester Hills, Michigan 2,000 votes were incorrectly double counted for Biden, rising the concern of where else did double counting happen to Biden’s favor.
  • Election workers in Michigan wore Biden shirts during the voting process and reportedly clapped when Republican poll watchers were removed from the vote counting area.
  • A Michigan whistleblower reported that ballots with no dates were received after the deadline but poll workers were told stamp them with valid dates and include them in the count.
  • In Wayne County, Michigan, poll workers blocked viewing windows, denying people their legal right to monitor and observe election counting.
9) Real Conservative United - In Michigan, “In Antrim County, ballots were counted for Democrats that were meant for Republicans, causing a 6,000 vote swing against our candidates. The county clerk came forward and said ‘tabulating software glitched and caused a miscalculation of the vote.’ Since then, we have now discovered the 47 counties used the same software in the same capacity,” she said, adding “Antrim County had to hand count all of the ballots, and these counties that used the software need to closely examine their results for similar discrepancies.”

Of note, Trump won Antrim County in 2016 with 62% of the vote vs. 33% for Hillary Clinton.

10) Real Conservative United - Keep in mind that it is not only the Presidential race that is in danger here: “Meanwhile, in Oakland County, Michigan, another computer glitch was uncovered which gave an upset win to Democrat Melanie Hartman. Once it was fixed, her win was nullified and incumbent Adam Kochenderfer was declared the winner. Apparently, there was a technical glitch in Rochester Hills. And so, I actually ended up winning by a little over 1,100 votes.”

11) GOP Times - In Arizona, “Local residents were shocked to get a bunch of early trick-or-treaters, receiving “unusual knocks at their door.” The police were handing them their ballot back. A Glendale police officer, accompanied by two attorney general’s special agents, “participated in delivering the ballots.””

Why were police delivering ballots? Apparently a farm worker came across a stack of ballots that were buried out in a field and fortunately, he was honest enough to contact authorities and turned them over. Again, great that these ballots were recovered but 1) how many other ballots were not recovered in time for people to vote and 2) who dumped the ballots in the field in the first place?

12) The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), is nonpartisan and not associated with any political campaign or party. The Foundation filed a lawsuit two days after the electron and argued that the state of Pennsylvania has failed to maintain voter registration records which puts the state in violation of Federal and state law, according to a press release.

The suit maintains that the Foundation has identified at least 21,000 dead citizens still on the Pennsylvania voting lists: “This case is about ensuring that those deceased registrants are not receiving ballots,” said J. Christian Adams, Public Interest Legal Foundation president and general counsel, according to the press release. “This case isn’t complicated. For nearly a year, we’ve been offering specific data on deceased registrants to Pennsylvania officials for proper handling ahead of what was expected to be a tight outcome on Election Day.”

13) Life Site - Former Michigan state senator and aerospace engineer, Patrick Colbeck, accused Michigan voting authorities of a long list of major voting violations that included the breaking of Michigan voting laws: “Anybody who’s claiming an election victory on the basis of what happened, particularly in the state of Michigan and in the Detroit Absent Voter [AV] counting board, should not be claiming any sort of victory at all. Because I’m telling you, the fraud that we witnessed, the interference… are going to knock the socks off of people that may think that this is just a matter of the vote that’s been cast, move on, there’s nothing to see here.

His interview can be viewed here:

14) American Liberty Daily - As discussed above, windows were illegally blocked in Detroit while ballots were being counted: “There were some pretty tense moments inside of this room. Basically some poll workers or some of challengers told us that there was not an equal number of Democrats and Republicans in this room throughout the entire process,” Fox News correspondent Matt Finn said. “It led to some shoving matches or some fighting matches and that’s when police had to step in and escort people out of that absentee ballot counting room.”

Windows inside the TCF Center in Detroit, Michigan, were covered up on Wednesday, sparking widespread criticism as chaos broke out while ballots were being counted.
15) Mic Drop Politics - A question we raised early in the vote counting is how in the world did Wisconsin get a voter participation rate of almost 90%, an unheard voting participation rate ever registered. Were illegal and bogus ballots added to the mix? We now have some additional data and the suspicions are even stronger from a statistical perspective:
  • The reputed voter turnout for Minnesota and Wisconsin was very, very high, higher than expected, higher than historical norms and higher than nearby states.
  • The ratio of actual voters to registered voters in Minnesota was an amazing 90% and in Wisconsin it was another amazing 89%.
  • The next five closest states were Florida (79%), Iowa (75%), Ohio (71%), Texas (69%), Georgia (66%) and Michigan (66%).
  • Thus, Minnesota and Wisconsin had voter participation rates that were at least 10% higher than the next best state and in general were at least 20% higher than most other states.
  • These results were also out of line with the past four Presidential elections with voter participation in Minnesota generally in the mid 70% range and Wisconsin generally in the high 60% to low 70% range.
Obviously, it could have happened, but highly unlikely, not probable. Especially since relative to neighboring states, relative to other states, and relative to historic performance, these high participation rates are way out of line.
16) Consider videos from inside a voting counting location in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The video purports to show poll workers filling out blank voting ballots and then stamping them as official, legal votes. Now, once the video went viral, the county voting authorities tried to explain the videos by saying that ballots sometimes get destroyed by the voting processing machines and have to be redone in order to be counted. They claim that is what the poll workers in the video are doing, duplicating ballots that were destroyed. However, if that is the case, one would expect to see a mangled ballot sitting next to the replacement ballot that the poll worker is filling out to make sure that the exact same information that the voter intended is being transcribed exactly right. But if you look at the video, there are no mangled ballots in sight. The poll workers simply take a blank ballot, time date stamps it and fills in the voting options without referencing any other damaged or mangled ballot. See for yourself in the following video:https://www.theblaze.com/news/viral-videos-show-pennsylvania-poll-workers-filling-out-ballots17) Project Veritas - Postal workers were told to backdate ballots that were received after the deadline and include them in the voting pool, according to a whistleblower in Traverse City, Michigan.According to the Epoch Times, “The unnamed self-proclaimed postal worker alleged in the interview with Project Veritas that on Nov. 4, he and his colleagues were issued a directive by his direct supervisor, Jonathan Clarke, at the Barlow branch to collect any ballots they found in mailboxes, collection boxes, and any outgoing mail, and separate them at the end of the day so that they could be hand stamped with the previous day’s date—Nov. 3, Election Day. A carrier down in another office said they watched the postmaster doing it. If it were just a typical day, it would be clerks doing it up at the distribution center,” the USPS whistleblower said.18) The Post Office has said in a court document that 300,000 ballots may have been misplaced, as they had been scanned into its facilities, but had not been scanned out. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, who ordered the U.S. Postal Service to sweep mail processing facilities in 15 states on Tuesday to find the missing ballots and have them delivered on time, was furious Wednesday that the USPS had defied his order. Rather than complying with Judge Sullivan’s order, the USPS decided to keep to its own schedule. This raised concerns that, at the very least, tens of thousands of ballots would not be delivered to polling stations in time to be counted.19) Political Integrity Forum - Reports out of Pennsylvania, especially Philadelphia, allege that Republican poll watchers in the state and city were either denied access to the polls on election day to make sure that no voting irregularities occurred or were given access so far away from the ballots that they could no observe what was happening. This is particularly distressing, given the history of voting corruption in the city: “In 2015, three election officials— Laura Murtagh, Robin Trainor and Cheryl Ali—were charged with a variety of election crimes, including voting multiple times and in the name of other people, election forgery, conspiracy, and fraud by election officers. The crimes occurred during the 2014 and 2015 primary elections in Philadelphia. All three pled guilty of the lesser election crimes and were convicted. In 2017, four Philadelphia election officials—Delores Shaw, Calvin Mattox, Thurman George, and Wallace Hill—engaged in a conspiracy to ensure the election of a write-in candidate in a special election for the statehouse seat for the 197th District. They were charged with intimidating voters unwilling to vote for the Democratic candidate, casting bogus ballots, and falsely certifying results. All four were convicted of various election crimes.”Certainly not a beacon of voting integrity.20) Public Integrity Forum - Even when Philadelphia voting officials are told to behave and follow a court order, they continued on their corrupt ways. A judge ruled that Republican vote observers be allowed within six feet of the vote counting process, much closer than the 16 to 100 feet that they had previously been allowed to stand. But although the voting officials moved the barriers to within six feet of the vote counting process, they then moved the ballot counting process further back, far outside the six foot distance the judge had ordered. These are the just the first 20 instances of voting fraud that have been alleged and reported. Again, some may not be true. But it is highly unlikely that all of them are empty, sour grapes of the losing side. The corruption is too wide, too consistent, too localized, and too overwhelming, as subsequent posts will show. And if true, many bad people have corrupted and damaged a fundamental right of freedom, the ability to have their vote counted and counted equally with other legal cast votes. Anything short of this high standard is wrong, dangerous, and treasonous. More to come.

November, 2020, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: Ocasio-Cortez Designer Clothes, The First Family Of NYC Wastes A Billion Dollars, and States Cannot Pay Their Bills

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) We used to blog a lot about Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York City. Her ignorance and inane comments and plans were actually entertaining for a while as we wondered how anyone that naive about the world could be elected to Congress and actually vote on legislation.

However, over time her ranting and self-centeredness and inability to understand reality and numbers got really tiring. Thus, we haven't done a lot about her lately since it was the same ignorance, the same stupidity, and the same inability to ever have a decent solution to any problem, just empty ranting. But we cannot let the latest bit of hypocrisy from her go by unnoticed:
  • Recall in a previous post how she appeared at a public function about helping the poor and putting more socialism programs in place and yet was wearing a designer outfit that was priced at well over a thousand dollars, blatant hypocrisy.
  • Well, she is at it again.
  • She was recently featured on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine wearing a $14,000 outfit.
  • This behavior from someone who more than once portrayed herself as a friend of the working class and how she had a struggling background… until she could parade around in extremely expensive designer clothes.
  • While wearing such expensive clothes she still continues to try and pass herself as a “working woman, that it is “legitimately hard being a first-generation woman … and being working class, trying to navigate a professional environment. … It continues to take me so long to try to figure out how to look put-together without having a huge designer closet.”
  • Note that she does not deny she has a ”designer closet,” just that she doesn't have a “huge” designer closet.
I bet most of her constituents do not even have a “designer closet” of any size. Please, dress anyway you want, spend your money on any clothes, cheap or expensive that you want, but do not try to pass yourself off as a friend of the working class and the poor when you are wearing designer clothes that cost thousands and thousands of dollars.

2) Recently, we have been spending a lot of time reviewing the latest budget numbers of cities, states, and the Federal budget and the numbers in almost all cases are not good. Cities such as Chicago are likely to go bankrupt really soon, given the following financial death spiral realities:
  • Chicago cannot pay its own current bills, never mind paying down billions and billions of dollars of unfunded future financial liabilities.
  • Chicago is now the murder capital of the country which has endangered the lives of residents who are leaving the city much faster than people are moving into the city, taking their tax dollars with them and thus, making the city’s financial situation more bleak.
  • The inept mayor, Lori Lightfoot, has had to grovel at the feet of employers not to leave the city because of the safety of their employees and property, taking more tax dollars and jobs with them as they abandon the city.
  • The city’s municipal bond rating is just a shade above junk bond status meaning that it will be difficult for the city to finance its debt and revenue shortfalls with more debt.
  • And since Chicago's home state of Illinois is probably going to be the first state to go bankrupt, it cannot provide any financial relief to Chicago.
New York, San Francisco and other cities are not much better off. But the cities are not the only government entities that are in serious financial shape:
  • The watchdog group, Truth In Accounting, recently released its annual report, “Financial State of the States.
  • According to standard accounting practices, the report found that 39 states, (78%) did not have enough money coming in via taxes to pay off their bills.
  • Total unpaid bills amounted to a whopping $1.4 TRILLION at the end of fiscal year 2019 BEFORE the added expenses of the covid fight kicked in.
  • The report estimates that the states will see their 2020 fiscal year revenue reduced by just under $400 billion, making their ability to pay their bills in 2020 even more difficult.
  • The states with the biggest unpaid bill problem are New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut, Hawaii, and Massachusetts.
Since we have predicted that Illinois will be the first state to go bankrupt and that New Jersey will be one of the states that will quickly follow Illinois into bankruptcy, it is no surprise they are the top two states that cannot pay their bills.

3) Maybe one of the reasons that cities and states are going bankrupt is that they cannot keep track of the money they spend in order to decide if it is going to the right functions to address the right problems. Such is the case of New York City, our choice for the second most likely city to go bankrupt after Chicago.

It appears that the mayor’s wife is having trouble explaining how almost a billion dollars of city tax money not only went missing but failed to come close to fulfilling the objectives the money was intended for:
  • Mayor Bill de Blasoi’s wife, Chirlane McCray, is in charge of a city mental health project.
  • But according to reporting by the Daily Mail, she cannot adequately explain where and how her program has spent $850 million worth of taxpayer money.
  • In the three years it took to spend the $850 million, the organization she heads, ThriveNYC, has generally been unable or unwilling to document how that money was spent and whether or not it actually did any good.
  • ThriveNYC was supposed to have 417 metrics to measure its performance but according to reporting by Politico, the data for those metrics is minimal and what data does exist shows what a gigantic failure the program was.
  • For example, one of the metrics was to screen 78,000 new mothers a year for post natal depression.
  • But in a recent two year period, the program did not screen the 156,000 it was supposed to screen but screened just over 28,000, only 18% of the target.
  • Even worse, it was supposed to help 12,000 to 15,000 new mothers over that time and ended up treating only 570, a tiny fraction of its metric goal.
  • In another example, the organization records showed it had given out 190,000 MARCAN kits to those in need of opioid treatment but there is no record of how many of those kits were used and how many addicted people it helped.
Despite the failures, despite the shoddy bookkeeping and results tracking, the program has been given more funding and will spend over a billion dollars very shortly over its life with very little success to show for it. But that is how politics works, put a program out there, fund it, not have a clue whether it works or not and then fund with more taxpayer money. Insanity.

4) But it is not just de Blasio’s wife that wastes NYC taxpayer funds, apparently the mayor recently conceded that he also wasted a huge chunk of taxpayer funds:
  • Three years ago, de Blasio put aside a whopping $773 million dollars to improve 100 of the city’s worst schools.
  • After three years, that $773 million was only good enough to improve 25 schools to a degree that they were not considered the worst performing city schools.
  • Thus, on average, $7.73 million was spent on each school and only 25 of them showed any significant improvement despite having a whopping $7 million or so poured into each of them.
  • Adding insult to injury, 25 of those 100 worst schools were just closed or merged with other schools despite $7 million spent on each of them on average.
Even de Blasio knew when the failure was too great to continue, having recently terminated the program that has failed so miserably.

States cannot pay their bills, the First Family of New York wastes over $1 billion of taxpayer money, and Ocasio-Cortez’s hypocrisy and high fashion maintenance continues unabated. The inability of the American political class to do anything right continues to amaze and disappoint.

November, 2020, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" In California, A New Hampshire Voting Official Votes Twice, and Maxine Walters Still Rants

1) We have often discussed the reality that during the covid pandemic, American politicians put forth draconian restrictions on the activities of Americans while they decided that they did not have to abide by their own rules:
  • The mayor of Chicago forced her favorite hair salon to open to cut her hair even though she forced all other hair salons to stay closed and not serve residents of Chicago.
  • The mayor of Beaumont, Texas forced her favorite hair salon to open to do her nails even though she forced all other nail salons to stay closed and not serve the residents of Beaumont, Texas.
  • The mayor of New York City forced his gym to open up so that he could exercise even though he forced all other gyms to stay closed and deny the ability of regular New Yorkers to exercise in their gyms.
  • The New York City mayor also went for a walk in a city park even though he prevented all other New Yorkers from doing the same since he had closed the parks.
  • The governor of Michigan shut down all recreational boating activity in the state even though her husband tried to get his boat out for a Memorial Day boat trip.
You get the idea, those in charge of various government entities saw themselves above the very restrictions and bans that they subjected their own constituents to, the ever popular “do as I say, not as I do.”

And that maxim was recently on parade in the state of California:
  • California governor, Gavin Newsom, has been one of the more dictatorial governors when it comes to onerous shutdowns of businesses and other functions.
  • In Sacramento County in California, and other counties, where he lives he has forced the area public schools to stay closed because of the virus, making remote education and family life very difficult, especially for families with working parents.
  • But he recently announced that his kids will be returning to their school for in-person learning at their fancy, high end private school.
  • According to Politico: “Newsom’s children attend a private school in Sacramento County that has a hybrid schedule that alternates remote and in-person education before it will return full-time next month, according to a source.”
  • That same schedule and superior learning experience will NOT be available to kids attending public school in the county where the Newson kids’ school is located.
  • When questioned about the ability of rich parents and politicians to send their kids to in school education and the inability of regular citizens to do the same, he did not say that the fancy school was better prepared to prevent the spread of the virus, he just punted and dodged the question saying that it was up to the local school boards to decide.
  • But Politico, for once, disagreed with a liberal politician: “Pradheep Shanker, a radiologist and public health policy expert, said on Twitter that the “rich and elite will have children that will advance far more than those in public schools…and years from now, we will wonder with great concern about why we have a massive income gap…””
As always, do as I say, not as I do.

2) As we have often said, it would be wonderful if politicians of all parties and all stripes tried to unite the country and help us all reach an adult consensus and resolution to the problems we all face. But that “wonderful” word does not exist because current American politicians don't want to reach consensus, have an adult conversation or respect the opinions and rights of others.

One of the most despicable culprits in this shortcoming has always been Congresswoman Maxine Walters. During the Obama administration she actually said she hoped that Tea Party Americans would just die and go to hell because they dared to have a different opinion than hers when it came to Obama’s outlandish and dangerous annual trillion dollar deficits.

Apparently, Ms. Walters has not grown up with regard to respecting Americans rights to their opinions:
  • Keep in mind that Maxine Walters has somehow turned her Congressional job into multi millions of dollars of personal wealth.
  • Also keep in mind that under Trump, the unemployment rate for black Americans got close to or attained an all time low.
  • And on a recent radio interview Ms. Walters had the nerve to insult fellow black citizens, saying that, “Black voters intending to cast ballots for President Donald Trump are “shameful.””
  • Also: “I don’t even know where any Blacks would be coming from that would be voting for Trump. It just hurts me so bad to see Blacks talking about supporting Trump. I don’t know why they would be doing it. I don’t know why it is on their minds. But if we don’t turn out this vote and turn it our huge, this man could end up winning again. This country would go backward. The divisiveness that this deplorable human being has caused, the confrontation, the dog-whistling to the right-wing, the white supremacists, the KKK, and they are coming alive. They are emboldened because they have a leader.”
Oh, by the way, Trump’s approval rating among black Americans is at a very high level, another fact that Ms. Walters seems to ignore. So sad that politicians have to inject racism into everything in order to divide the country, that there is no respect for the opinions of others, even those of the same race.

3) But of course, she could not stop at insulting the opinions of other black people. She went on another rant of how much of a racist Trump is with no mention of the decades long racism of Joe Biden, a fellow Democrat:
  • Joe Biden recently made the racist comment that the reason we were able to survive the pandemic shutdown was because of that black woman stocking shelves, “Jeez, the reason I was able to stay sequestered in my home is because some black woman was able to stack the grocery shelf.”
  • Joe Biden made the racist comment that "Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle with tensions having built so high that it is going to explode at some point."
  • Joe Biden made the racist statement that if you are African-American and you vote for the other guy “you ain’t black.”
  • Joe Biden made the racist comment that “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”
  • Joe Biden made the racist comment, mimicking an Indian accent, that “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”
  • Joe Biden made the following incredibly racist comment: "And by the way, what you all know, but most people don’t know, unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”
  • Joe Biden made the statement supporting his opposition to school busing desegregation, boasting that "we [Delawareans] were on the South's side in the Civil War."
  • Joe Biden authored and ramrodded through Clinton’s infamous crime bill which resulted in minorities being unfairly and overly represented in jails and prisons across the United States?
Sounds like Joe Biden has been a pretty racist dude for a long time, a reality that Walters denies. The hypocrisy of politicians is unfathomable.

4) The right to vote in this country should be sacred. Every citizen should be comfortable in the knowledge that their vote has the same weight and importance as every other citizen’s vote. But apparently that principle did not sit well with a New Hampshire government employee involved in the voting process:
  • Law enforcement in New Hampshire recently arrested a man for voting twice in a November, 2016 elections.
  • That in itself should be a disgusting abuse of our freedom to choose our leaders.
  • But it gets worse since the man arrested was, get this, an election inspector.
  • He was charged with a class B felony for violating state election law RSA 659:34.1, voting more than once in an election, once as himself and once as a fake woman, a woman who he applied for and got a ballot for.
Tough to believe voting is a fair and unbiased effort when a voting inspector is actually one of the people committing the voting fraud.

That will do it for today: a corrupt voting inspector, Maxine Walters still spewing hate at those with a different opinion, and the California governor enacts the “do as I say, not as I do” political mantra.

Which City and Which State Will Go Bankrupt In The Very Near Future? Hint: Both Are In The Upper Midwest

We have done a few recent posts where we laid out the numbers showing that any issue that Aericans are worried about in this election season really do not matter. The only thing that matters is that the American political class has run up a total government debt level of about $125,000,000,000,000, a debt bubble that is going to pop sooner rather than later.

When that debt bubble pops, abortion rights, gay rights, gun control, foreign policy, and other issues that you may think are important today, will be swept away in a sea of red ink. The numbers are undeniable and when that happens, a number of very bad situations will take place:

  • Social Security and Medicare benefits will decrease significantly as taxes to pay for them go up while medical quality goes down.

  • Government pensions and benefit payouts to government employee retirees will be slashed.

  • Government functions will be cut back dramatically so there will be fewer police, teachers, and firefighters, there will be fewer and lower quality government services such as welfare, road repairs, etc.

  • And taxes across the board will go up as politicians fight a losing battle to erase the wave of red ink and insolvencies at all levels of government.

It is also our view that this tidal wave of debt disasters has already begun at the city and state levels as we have already proven. Chicago and New York City are in a race to unseat the city of Detroit as the largest American city to go bankrupt. Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and California are the leaders in becoming the first state government to go bankrupt. These realities and the numbers supporting the realities were laid out in the following three posts:

Today’s post does a deeper dive into the cities and states most likely to go bankrupt first. It comes from different source of data that may differ in details from other sources we have cited but the conclusion is still the same regardless of what measurement process is used: U.S. cities and states have rung up so much debt and unfunded liabilities that there really is no way for them to avoid going belly up financially.

As these states and cities incur more and more debt, rather than cut government spending, the respective politicians are raising taxes. But raising taxes causes city and state residents to move elsewhere to seek more freedom and tax relief so that even raising tax rates results in lower revenue streams to these cities and states. As a result, the politicians raise the tax rates again, resulting in more out-migration and the financial death spiral is underway.

To prove our point, consider the excellent, detailed analysis that was recently completed by the Policy Education organization, www.policyed.org. They went through the financial books of every state and many major cities, took the cities’ and states’ estimates of their future unfunded liabilities, adjusted those official government numbers to be realistic, and not the pipe dreams of politicians, and then divided the adjusted unfunded liabilities by the number of residents in that city or state to get the unfunded liabilities tax burden person.

Side note: I believe they adjusted the official unfunded liabilities numbers because of unrealistic investment returns that city and state government pension funds are expecting and planning for. Pension funds are invested in the stock market and investment returns from those stock market investments help fund city and state pensions and retirement benefits for retired government workers.

But some of those pension funds are planning for unattainable stock market returns which underestimates the future unfunded liabilities estimate. The Policy Education analysis tries to estimate unfunded liabilities for a city or state using more realistic and attainable investment returns.

Okay, let’s get started at the city level:

Chicago - According to the official city unfunded liabilities estimate, the city is going to be short about $42 billion when it tries to pay off future debt.

But the adjusted number based on realistic investment returns is a whopping $765 billion. This comes out to every man, woman and child in Chicago writing a check for $28,160 to pay off just the unfunded future liabilities, not the current budget deficits and challenges. Thus, a family of four in Chicago would theoretically have to write a check for over $100,000 to help pay off their fair share of the city's debt hole, not going to happen.

San Francisco - The official city unfunded liability estimate is $2.3 billion but the Policy Education realistic estimate is $141 billion, meaning that every resident of San Francisco is on the hook for $16,266.

New York City - The official unfunded liability estimate is $43 billion while the adjusted, more realistic estimate is $122 billion. Thus, each resident of the city is on the hook for $13,050.

Los Angeles - the official unfunded liability number is $8.4 billion but the more realistic number is $38.7 billion of $9,667 per resident.

Now, keep in mind these are the unfunded liabilities are just the respective cities, there are unfunded liabilities at the state and national level that the residents of these cities  states will also be on the hook for!

The first obvious question is are these cites more mismanaged than other cities or do other cities have similar levels of unfunded liabilities? Consider a random sampling of the per person liabilities from a random set of cities across the country:

  • Detroit - $6,630 per resident.

  • Miami - $5,347 per resident

  • Dallas - $4,076 per resident

  • Phoenix - $2,284 per resident

  • Charlotte - $501 per resident.

Thus, while it looks like most American city governments have some level of unfunded future financial liabilities, it is only the big four we discussed above that are really in big trouble. Other cities have far smaller and more manageable financial shortfalls.

Which leads us to the question: which American city will be the next major city to go bankrupt, possibly unseating Detroit as the largest American city to go bankrupt:

  • Chicago’s bond rating is just a hair above junk bond status which will make it impossible or very, very expensive to sell city bonds to fund its operations, never mind paying down its unfunded liabilities.

  • The city has high taxes and an ever escalating violent crime rate which has caused businesses and residents to flee both the taxes and crime.

  • This out migration has reduced the tax base and tax revenue which puts additional strain on the city financials.

  • Things in Chicago have gotten so bad that the inept mayor, Lori Lightfoot, has had to grovel at the feet of businesses to not abandon the city, taking jobs and tax revenue with them.

  • Bill de Blasio, the inept mayor of New York City, is not in much better shape, having no clue how to fix what he has broken in the city from a high tax and increasing crime rate.

  • Moving companies have complained that they do not have enough moving vans available to satisfy the demand for NYC residents moving out, taking their tax revenue with them.

  • With the pandemic, the city’s financial and business districts have become ghost towns as businesses do in New York City what they did in Chicago: move their employees out, taking jobs and tax revenue with them.

  • De Blasio has stated that unless the Federal taxpayer bails him out, the city will see significant cuts in social and protection services.

San Francisco and Los Angeles face many of the same problems: higher crime, lower quality of life,  and higher taxes which results in the out-migration of residents and businesses which reduces the tax revenue stream which results in higher taxes which accelerates the out-migration and the financial death spiral is underway.

However, my bet is that Chicago will beat them all to the steps of bankruptcy court, given the violence, the low credit rating on its bonds, and the complete lack of leadership and solutions from the mayor and the other  city politicians. This would, at least for a while, make Chicago the largest American city to go bankrupt, relieving Detroit of that title.

Let’s jump to the state level:

Illinois - according to the official unfunded liabilities estimate of the state, the state has $195.4 billions in unfunded liabilities. But the more realistic, adjusted estimate is $327 billion, which calculates out to a per resident share of $25,571. Thus, a family of four in Illinois would have to write a check for over $100,000 to pay for their fair share of the state’s unfunded liability burden. This is in addition to the over $100,000 check Chicago residents would have to write for the city’s unfunded liability debt hole, bringing the total state and city share to well over $200,000 per family of four.

California - the official unfunded liability estimate is $309.4 billion but the adjusted, more realistic number is a whopping $990.7 billion, almost a TRILLION dollars! This computes out to a per resident share of $25,146 per resident, over $100,000 for a family of four. This would be in addition to the unfunded city liabilities the California residents of Los Angeles and San Francisco would have to pay.

Connecticut - the official estimate is only $37.8 billion but the more realistic estimate is a whopping $686 billion or $19,188 per resident and almost $80,000 for a family of four.

New Jersey - the official estimate is $142.3 billion but the more realistic estimate is a little higher at $163.1 billion, indicating that New Jersey has a little better feel and handle on what is realistic when it comes to its true unfunded liabilities. But it still comes out to about $18,351 per resident, almost $80,000 for a family of four.

New York - the official estimate is $77 billion but, unlike New Jersey, it looks like New York has no clue on what its true unfunded liability is since the adjusted estimate comes in at $303.8 billion. This computes out to about $15,508 per resident.

Which leads us to the question: which American state will be the first state to go bankrupt:

  • Most of these states face the same out-migration crisis that the distressed cities discussed above face.

  • New York, New Jersey, California, and Illinois usually lead the country when any measure of outward migration is discussed.

  • United Van Lines, a major moving company, issues an annual report where it tracks the number of moves into and out of each state it does in a year.

  • In 2019, New Jersey, New York, and Illinois were the leading states that had far more moves out of the state than into the state, which over time reduces the tax base and tax revenue stream which causes state politicians to raise tax rates to make up for the shortfall which causes even move out-migration and the financial death spiral is underway.

  • In the latest United Van Lines analysis, New Jersey experienced two moves out of the state for every move into the state, not a good trend.

  • Illinois and New York were not too far behind with this out to in ratio, ranking 3rd and 2nd respectively and California wasn't too far behind at the seventh worst migration ratio.

  • And yet state opticians continue to raise taxes with New Jersey having not just raised taxes but instituted a whole slew of new taxes and Illinois is considering raising its top state income tax rate as is California, financial suicide.

  • California is considering raising its top marginal state income tax rate from about 13% to over 16% which has caused the famous (major podcaster Joe Rogan and conservative pundit, Ben Shapiro) and not so famous people to move out of California to avoid this dreadfully onus of state tax rates.

  • At least the governor of New York realizes what is happening, having recently pleaded with the wealthy New Yorkers moving out of New York City and often out of the state to come back, that he even offered to have them over to his house for drinks and a barbeque.

But are other states unjust as bad financial shape? What Are the real unfunded liabilities of other large states:

  • Texas - $7,528 per resident.

  • Florida - $6,776 per resident.

  • North Carolina - $6,037 per resident.

  • Tennessee - $5,577 per resident.

So yes, other states have their own unfunded liabilities problems. However, they are a fraction of the problem that Illinois, New York, et al have, as discussed above.

So the answer to the question, what state goes bankrupt first, is, in my opinion, Illinois.  The unfunded liabilities at the state and city level, the out-migration of residents and business looking for a better and less expensive quality of life, the low bond ratings that will make it near impossible to pay off the unfunded liabilities with more borrowing, yes I put my chips on Illinois and Chicago to be the first state and next big city to go bankrupt.

So, relax, any issues that you are fretting about as it relates to this election cycle are going to be rendered mute pretty quickly across the country. As states and cities realize they cannot fund their current budget and their future unfunded liabilities, government services will be cut, government pensions and benefits will be cut, taxes will be raised which will just make the situation worse and to say that chaos will ensue is an understatement.

These cities, Chicago, New York, etc. and states, Illinois, New York, etc. are really just canaries in the coal mine of financial distress. They will be precursors to when the Federal government also finds itself with the inability to pay for everything that the American class has promised and the downside ramifications will roar across the country as the Federal debt balloon/bubble bursts. For what that debt implosion looks like at the Federal level I refer you to the first two posts listed above.

 Have a great day!
