It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.
1)We have often discussed the reality that one of the very basic functions of any government at any level is to protect the lives and property of the citizens they are responsible for. Failure to provide that basic government service, regardless of how that government entity performs other services, still means that level of government is a failure.
The most frequent failure of this type that we discuss is the failure of Chicago area politicians, specifically Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Over her tenure, the violent crime and homicide totals have skyrocketed over the years. She and her political peers in Chicago are a classic example of failure.
But Chicago has not cornered the market for not protecting the lives and property of its citizens:
Amazon is relocating a number of its employees in downtown Seattle because of concerns over the rise in the city’s violent crime rate.
Specifically: “Given recent incidents near 3rd and Pine [the Amazon location], we’re providing employees currently at that location with alternative office space elsewhere,” an Amazon spokesman said in a statement emailed to the outlet. “We are hopeful that conditions will improve and that we will be able to bring employees back to this location when it is safe to do so.”
Four years ago, five people were shot at this location.
In 2016 a gunman wounded five people at this intersection.
Last September a shooter killed one person and wounded two others.
Recently, a 55 year old man was shot and killed one block from the Amazon offices.
Over recent years over 100 people have been arrested in the area dealing illegal drugs.
Other shootings occurred in late February in the area.
Apparently the fentanyl epidemic is driving the latest violence in the area.
When companies have to move employees out of a business location, incurring costs to do so, you know that the local political class has failed in its basic responsibility for their safety, protecting the lives and property of citizens. Unless the violence is curtailed one could see other companies doing the same thing, eventually reducing the tax base and causing some severe revenue problems for the city. This would likely result in budget cuts which would reduce police presence which would lead to more violence and crime and the death spiral is in motion.
2)Let’s quickly assess the world:
War is raging in Ukraine, resulting in tremendous suffering and talk of World War III.
At any time there are likely 500,000-600,000 homeless Americans in the country.
Millions of Americans are hard pressed every day to put food on the table.
Overdose deaths in this country are skyrocketing as cheap and deadly fentanyl comes into the country from our lax border security.
Inflation is running at forty year high.
A lot of bad things are going on in the world today. But never fear the, U.S. Congress is working on a really major issue. This week, the U.S. Senate approved legislation that would eliminate, wait for it, Daylight Savings Time.
Yes, forget the hungry, forget the homeless and drug addicted, don’t worry about Ukraine, we can all rest easy as Washington politicians focus on, spend resources on, and take time to vote on the elimination of Daylight Savings Time. Talk about bad priorities.
3)We used to write a lot about New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
Despite having a business degree, she did not know the simple definition of the unemployment rate, something a high school economic student probably learns in the first week of econ class.
Despite running for Congress, she stated that the three branches of the U.S. government were President, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.
Despite having a business degree, she did not know the difference between a business tax credit and a business tax deduction which resulted in her Congressional district NOT becoming a major location for an Amazon facility, a facility that would have brought unheard of wealth to her district.
Over time, her antics became less and less cute. Her issue positions are shallow and usually wrong and she automatically reacts to criticism by calling those with a contrary opinion either racists or sexists based on absolutely no data.
But her latest antic, given all of the major issues in the world listed above, might just take the cake for wasting Congressional time and brain power:
Not only did she take the following action, she publicized it on Instagram.
After hearing that dunking one’s face in a bowl of ice water is a good way to destress, she went ahead and did the deed twice on Instagram Live.
Her words: “Ok so no lie I have been very very stressed out lately and today I found myself staying in a stressful mental pattern that was just creating more stress for myself,” reads text overlayed on a video AOC posted. “I wanted to interrupt that. Riley( OC’s boyfriend) and I read previously that dunking your face in a bowl of ice water can be a way of redirecting by forcing your body to do a kind of reset of your parasympathetic nervous system, so I’m going to try it,.
She went on: “So we filled this water bowl with ice and scooped it out right before dunking. It is very very cold…and yes my kitchen is messy today deal with it.”
She concluded: “It gave me a brain freeze. But I must say it worked! Turns out dunking your head into freezing cold ice water is a pretty good way to redirect. Hope this helps someone!”
People are homeless, hungry, and drug addicted and this clown is trying to draw attention to herself with this stunt. If dunking her head in cold water works for her, great. But don’t go public with this, it shows you have no sense of how Americans are suffering as you narcissistically draw attention to yourself. Oh, and by the way Congresswoman, you are not qualified to recommend this method to others for destressing.
4)While the Senate is working on the inane elimination of Daylight Savings Time legislation and a New York Congresswoman is dunking her face in a bowl of cold water, the wholesale price index jumped up a whopping 10% on a year over year basis. This comes on the heels that consumer price inflation has just reached a four decade high.
The wholesale index went up .8% in just one month, February over January. More distressing, the .8% was calculated before the recent spike in gas prices as a result of Russia invading Ukraine.
Americans are suffering and it is obvious that those in Washington do not see that suffering as a priority or they are too inept to resolve that suffering. As a result we get time changes and self induced brain freezes. Pathetic.
Throw in the ever increasing violent crime rates, and failure of American politicians to control it, with stupid priorities and the political insanity just rages on.
