Subject: Your Retirement - “The Deseating Of Congress, The Resetting Of Freedom”
Folks:
The time has come for all of you to move on with your lives and vacate your seats in Congress. Collectively, you have failed miserably to honorably, effectively, efficiently, and fiscally serve the needs of the American people. You have been given trillions of dollars in taxpayer wealth and have done nothing to fix any major problem confronting Americans today, be it education, infrastructure, government retirement programs, law and order, etc. The list of your failures is a testimony to your ineptness.
And we Americans are tired of your continuing failure. According to Gallup, less than one in five Americans have a positive approval rating for your performance. It seems to us that your priorities include only three things:
Making sure that the self enrichment of yourselves and your family and friends is a priority.
Making sure you win your next election.
Dividing country along political, racial, age, and sexual orientation lines to ensure your first two objectives above are protected.
It seems that nowhere on the list of your priorities is the resolving of problems and making American lives better part of your agenda.
Given all of this, we are calling for you all to not run for reelection in the fall of 2024, that you retire, or be “deseated.” If you are not up for reelection in 2024, we are calling for your resignation at that time so that we can completely clean house in Congress and start over with people that actually care about America, its citizens and the freedoms as guaranteed by the Constitution.
Brazilian Francisco Everardo Oliveira Silva, known as Tiririca the clown in his native country, was twice elected to the Brazilian Congress. His campaign slogan: “It can’t get any worse,” meaning a clown could do a better job than the current set of politicians in his country. That is how Americans feel about your performance, how much worse could it get if you were all replaced with Americans who might actually put the country as their highest priority rather than themselves?
How much worse could it get, given the following ignominious performance of Congress over the past few decades:
Fiscal Responsibility Failures:
Despite taking trillions and trillions of dollars in tax money over the years, your inability to control Federal government spending has resulted in about a $32,000,000,000,000 Federal debt, or about a $100,000 debt load for every man, woman, and child in the country.
Your inability to fiscally plan has saddled future taxpayer payers with over $80,000,000,000,000 in unfunded future financial liabilities, which consist mostly of future shortfalls in Social Security and Medicare funding, an impending disaster that will seriously degrade the quality of retirement of tens of millions of Americans.
You have shown no interest or ability to run fiscally prudent government agencies and programs since hundreds of billions of dollars are lost to inefficiencies and criminal enterprises every year, be it Social Security fraud, Medicare fraud, Medicaid fraud, COVID Relief fraud, and just about every other government program that you oversee.
Your economic ignorance has now helped saddle American households with inflation levels that have risen 17% in just the past two years, grocery pricing that is up 20% in the past two years, gasoline prices that are up about 50% in the past two years, mortgage rates that have tripled in the past two years. The list of your economic failures often seems endless, failures that have crimped and crippled the household budgets of just about every American household.
Government Agency Failures
Despite your oversight and the reality that American taxpayers have given the Department of Education hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, our public schools still generally and severely under-educate our kids relative to other countries that spend far less on education.
Despite your oversight and the reality that American taxpayers have given the Department of Energy hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, we are still not energy dependent, energy prices continue to escalate with no end in sight, and probably most importantly, you have not put forth a strategy and action plan to harden and secure our national electrical grid, making us vulnerable to all kinds of attacks on that grid.
Despite your oversight and the reality that American taxpayers have given the Department of Health and Human Services billions of dollars over the years, Americans are no healthier than they were twenty, thirty years ago.
Despite your oversight and the reality that American taxpayers have given the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, you have allowed them to stray off of their original charters and to harass innocent Americans who are simply exercising their Constitutional rights while interfering in the sanctity and integrity of national elections.
Despite your oversight and the reality that American taxpayers have given the Department of Transportation hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, our country's physical infrastructure continues to deteriorate and crumble with bridges, roads, dams, and other infrastructure well past their useful life expectancies.
American taxpayers have given you trillions of dollars to fix these problems and while you have spent even more than we gave you, none of these problems have been resolved.
Foreign Policy Failures
You have taken an open wallet approach to the Ukraine/Russia conflict, allowing the current President to send well over $100,000,000,000 to the Ukrainaians with no checks and balances in place to audit how that taxpayer money is spent and wasted, no discussion on how much more taxpayer money would be allowed to be flushed this hole, and no plan on how to end the conflict.
You allowed the war in Afghanistan to run for over twenty years in an attempt to remove the Taliban from power, during which time you spent about $2,000,000,000,000, saw thousands of our brave service people get killed and wounded, stood by while corruption inside the country ripped off the American taxpayer for billions of dollars and twenty years later the Taliban are still in power but now have the benefit of about $80 billion in taxpayer funded Pentagon weaponry.
You failed to investigate the horrendous, fatal, and horrid withdrawal from Afghanistan and hold those accountable in the Biden administration who were responsible for this disaster, a disaster that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of 13 brave U.S. military personnel, the hundreds of unnecessary deaths of Afghanistan citizens, embarrassed and enraged our allies, and embarrassed our country in the eyes of the world given the incompetence of the withdrawal operation.
You have failed to engage this administration and the leaders around the world to get the current illegal immigration problem at our southern border under control, a crisis that has allowed millions of unvetted, unvaccinated, and potentially dangerous criminals, drug cartel personnel and terrorists to enter the country, which has already endangered the lives of every American and the lives of those trying to get to the border.
Wasting of Taxpayer Wealth Failures
You allowed the Federal government, via the National Science Foundation (NSF), to give out a grant of $876,752 to the University of Iowa to study sex among New Zealand mud snails.
You allowed the Bureau Of Land Management to spend almost $2 million so that convicted criminals could teach wild horses and burros to be gentle.
You allowed USAID to spend part of $27 million on Moroccan pottery to improve Morocco’s economic capability.
You allowed the Federal government to spend $30,000 on a public relations program to encourage Americans to eat more fish eggs.
You allowed the Federal government to spend part of $8.1 million for Grant Heritage Areas on a Ukrainian eggs craft festival.
You allowed the NSF to spend $515,468 on a study of how shrimp scamper around.
You allowed the Federal government to spend $308,000 on an Elvis music boat.
You allowed the National Institutes of Health to spend $1 million to study what happens when monkeys run on treadmills.
You allowed the Federal government to spend $853,000 on a “sing along brunch party” involving 80 people who sang tunes from the play, “Annie” at a farmers’ market.
You allowed the NSF to spend $1.2 million to create a life size Pac-Man game on a basketball court.
You allowed the NSF to spend $899,000 to study the social interactions of guppies.
You allowed the NSF to spend $276,194 to figure out how unattractive people can find attractive mates.
You allowed the State Department to spend $50,000 on a Do-It-Yourself festival in Moscow, Russia.
You allowed the State Department to spend $2.1 million to promote tourism in Lebanon even though that same State Department was advising against going there because of terrorism and safety concerns.
You are allowing the IRS to hire about 80,000 employees, and arming some of them with military grade weaponry, to harass middle and lower income Americans while allowing our schools and kids to continue to be unprotected by nut cases who enter schools to kill and maim our kids.
It should not be a surprise that you failed at all of these efforts since you and the Federal government cannot even operate a successful "Do Not Call" list, given the many unsolicited calls we all still receive every week.
You allowed the Federal government to fund these types of nonsensical projects and programs thousands of times over the years, wasting untold billions of dollars on stupid science projects and overseas programs while Americans continued to go hungry, homeless, and in need of drug addiction and medical help.
Disregard For The Welfare and Safety of Americans Failures
Many members of your group actively called for the “defunding of the police” while at the same time continually belittling and degrading law enforcement officers around the country, idiocy that has resulted in skyrocketing urban crime and the unnecessary deaths of countless Americans from this ill thought out, murderous concept.
As urban crime has skyrocketed, endangering the lives and property of millions of Americans, you have shown no ability or interest in corralling this violence, leaving millions at heightened risk of violence everyday.
You have not created a sane, secure, and compassionate immigration program, which has furthered endangered the lives of millions of Americans as unvetted and unvaccinated as millions of illegal immigrants pour over the southern border, bringing with them violent Central and South American criminal and drug cartel elements into our cities and towns, sex and child trafficking elements into our midsts, and possibly terrorist elements who are likely to eventually conduct terrorism activities.
By failing to come up with a sane immigration policy and securing the border you have allowed mega tons and tons of illegal drugs to flood into this country, a flood that will eventually show up in a huge spike in Americans overdosing from fentanyl, cocaine, and other drugs while at the same time making the Mexican drug cartels wealthier and wealthier.
While millions of Americans every day go hungry, homeless and in need of drug addiction and medical help, you would rather spend billions of dollars to shower illegal immigrants with free shelter, free food, free medical help, and free cell phones, needy American citizens be damned.
As you can see, your record of failure, be it financial and fiscal responsibility failures, government agency failures, foreign policy failures, wasteful spending, or endangering the lives of Americans, this record is abominable. And that is why we are calling for you all to peacefully terminate your Congressional careers by the November 2024 national elections. You had your turn, you failed, so please get out of the way.
However, you could redeem yourselves before being deseated out of Congress if you finally got serious about your responsibilities and enacted the following simple laws to fix what you have broken:
Fix #1 - Pass legislation that finally imposes term limits on all members of Congress and the President, “one and done.” It is obvious that allowing politicians to continue to be in Congress for decades has not worked so term limits are critical. Since these long serving members of Congress have not been part of the solution they must be part of the problem.
Fix #2 - Immediately phase out several useless and failed Federal organizations including the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, and others that no longer are needed because of their failure to deliver on their promise.
Fix #3 - Put forth a plan that would shrink the Federal government’s annual budget, excluding Social Security and Medicare, by 50% within five years while at the same time forcing the Federal government to live on a balanced budget every year.
Fix #4 - Implement a plan that would put Social Security and Medicare on a path to fiscal stability within two years.
Fix #5 - Put forth legislation and regulations that would prohibit any Federal agency to spend money on any project that does not materially and positively impact the citizens of at least five states, otherwise the expenditure cannot be made. This would automatically eliminate such nonsense spending like Moroccan pottery and put an end to unnecessary local projects that are funded with Federal taxpayer money such as the “Bridge to Nowhere” in Alaska and the “Road to Nowhere” in West Virginia.
Fix #6 - Any Federal funds spent on scientific research can only be spent to resolve the four major problems facing Americans today: drug addiction, smoking addiction, obesity and the need for cheap, plentiful energy. If these four problems can be resolved, then many other problems will fix themselves , e.g. expensive energy, lung cancer, drug overdose, and the many, many diseases associated with obesity. No more Federal government funds spent on monkeys on treadmills, New Zealand snails, and other such scientific nonsense.
Fix #7 - Put teeth into the STOCK law that would prohibit any sitting member of Congress and their immediate family members from investing in any individual stock, only mutual funds, and those mutual funds would be managed by a blind trust while that person was a member of Congress. It would also prohibit any member of Congress or their immediate family to enrich themselves with insider government information without facing harsh financial AND criminal consequences.
Fix #8 - Prohibit any taxpayer money to be used to help a member of Congress who has run afoul of any legal problems, incldung sexual harassment, a situation that members of Congress were legally able to do in the past situations of sexual harassment.
Fix #9 - Pass AND enforce passionate, caring, and security minded illegal immigration legislation that would protect Americans from the chaos that is exploding at our borders today.
Fix #10 - Until there are no American citizens and American kids that are hungry, homeless, and in need of addiction or medical care, no taxpayer money would be spent on those problems that afflict illegal immigrants.
Fix #11 - Disband the FBI and CIA as they are currently staffed and managed and start over, ensuring that as reconstituted agencies they do not break any laws, they do not hassle and intimidate Americans who are simply and legally exercising their Constitutional rights, they do not interfere in politics and elections, and establish independent oversight boards to ensure they behave legally and responsibly.
Fix #12 - Any member of Congress or ex-President who has at least $5 million in net worth would not draw a salary or Federal pension since they need neither, they should be in Congress for the good of the country, not their own enrichment.
Fix #13 - Pass legislation that requires that the only people who can contribute to a politician's campaign for Congress is someone who lives in that Congressional district or state. For example, someone who lives in California should not be able to contribute to a politician running for the House of Representatives in Virginia. Someone who lives in Texas cannot contribute to a politician's campaign who is running for the Senate in Minnesota. This will go a very long way to cleaning up our election process and return the power and freedom to only those who are impacted by a specific election.
Fix #14 - From a moral perspective, it would really be a nice gesture before you leave office if you would voluntarily pay back all of the riches and wealth you generated, outside of your Congressional salaries, as result of insider trading on government information, delaying or speeding up legislation to benefit yourself financially, or creating legislation that benefited yourself financially or benefited your family and friends. And if you do have the moral character to do so, do not send the money back to the Federal government. Donate to a local food bank to help feed the hungry, donate to a local homeless shelter to help those living on the street, give it to a local drug addiction clinic to help those struggling with addiction. You would be doing more for America with these gestures than anything you accomplished in Congress.
If you could put these 14 fixes into place before you are deseated, then at least you would leave some legacy of success, that you changed the course of the country for the better, something all of you have not been able to do during your time in Congress. Once the 14 fixes are in place, you can ride off into the sunset knowing that you FINALLY made a positive difference for America and your fellow American citizens.
Take the hint that Gallup shows you: we are tired of your incompetence and failures. The time has come for you all to get out of the way and let someone else try to fix what you could not. Oh, and by the way, please take Joe B. and Kamla H. with you because they are also part of the problem.
P.S. The current debate about the Senate dress code is just an example of the inane silliness you folks focus on. Americans are suffering and you cannot figure out how to dress while tending to your business. Look the part and treat the institution with respect, no hoodies, no gym shorts.
