On a periodic basis we do some posts that fall under the theme of “by the numbers.” Rather than trust what the American political class tells us about reality, we like to examine the real numbers and the real reality in the world to understand what is actually going on. Relying on politicians, and their cohorts in the media, to tell us what is reality is always a sucker bet. They have their own agendas and goals, usually centering around their needs and self-enrichment. So we need to look at the reality of the numbers to determine what is really going on.
Previous analyses of “by the numbers” can be accessed by entering the phrase in the search box above. We look at the numbers to truly find out how good, not likely, or bad, most likely, the American political class is doing in managing our tax dollars, protecting our freedoms, and resolving major issues that affect all of us.1)Our first numbers discussion topic today is a quick hitter but no surprise:
According to a recent Rasmussen public opinion poll, 70% of likely voters are in favor of term limits.
That is down just a little from an all time high that was 73% in 2016.
Only 15% of those surveyed were against term limits.
Another 15% were undecided.
It is obvious that Americans are tired of the same old politicians continually being abject failures in resolving the problem facing Americans today. Their priorities continue to be 1) self enrichment, and 2) their continued reelection. By an almost 5 to 1 ratio Americans are telling them to get out of town.
If you would like to help in that process of ridding us of the long term inept Washington politicians please go to the following link and consider signing the petition listed at the end of the blog post:

2)One of the worst aspects of Biden’s horrible border and illegal immigration policies is that he has allowed the Mexican drug cartels to flood this country with illegal drugs, especially the highly addictive and often fatal fentanyl:
Apparently, the current wave of illegal drug use is the mixing of fentanyl with stimulants, namely cocaine and methamphetamines.
This mixture of fentanyl with these stimulants used to account for .6% of the U.S. overdose deaths back in 2010.
But these mixtures now account for more than 32% of overdose deaths in 2021.
According to Chelsea Shover, an assistant professor-in-residence at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles: “Fatal overdose involving both fentanyl and stimulants is on the rise. Not surprisingly, but very important is that it's really an overdose crisis as opposed to just an opioid crisis now.”
For the record, fentanyl is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than opioid morphine.
New ways to kill ourselves with increased importation of the main killer, fentanyl. Just another failure aspect of Biden’s failed immigration policies, the numbers do not lie.
3)Biden’s economic policies have also been a colossal failure across so many aspects:
Overall inflation is up 17% during his Presidency.
Grocery inflation is up almost 20%.
Gas inflation is up about 50%.
Mortgage rates are at levels not seen in decades.
Adding just another insult to his economic policies we now see that:
A survey of realtors found that 34% of their customers could no longer afford to buy a home given the high interest rates and high housing prices.
18% said their clients are waiting to buy until interest rates drop.
The average 30 year fixed rate mortgage is currently running about 7.3%, about three times higher than it was when Biden came into office.
Thus, not only are Biden’s policies and numbers killing Americans from a fentanyl perspective they are also killing the American dream of owning a home.
4)Quick hitter: the latest Labor Department analyses show that inflation last month was up 3.7%, up from a 3.2% in July. This is almost double the Federal Reserve’s target inflation rate of 2.0% and if anything, the trend is not good, at least August over July.
5)Okay, Biden’s Presidency is resulting in more drug overdose deaths with more exotic fentanyl mixtures and his economic policies are crimping Americans' lives with high inflation rates across just about every product category. And his illegal immigration policies are causing severe financial strain on local government budgets around the country as millions of illegal immigrants flood into the country and end up in so-called sanctuary cities and states,
This has caused severe financial stress and operational challenges to feed, shelter and medically tend to these illegal immigrants with American taxpayer money, as witnessed by what is happening in Chicago:
Chicago has gotten so many sanctuary seeking illegal immigrants that the city government and mayor have had to shelter over 2,000 illegal immigrants in police stations and at the city’s two airports, O’Hare and Midway.
To get these illegal immigrants better shelter options, the city has signed a whopping $29.3 million contract to build tent cities for these people.
Where these tent cities will be located has not yet been determined but wherever they go it is likely local city residents and citizens are not going to be happy.
Chicago is spending this almost $30 million despite the reality that it is facing a city government budget shortfall of $538 million in 2024, i.e. the city can hardly afford this additional illegal immigration expense.
The 14,000 total illegal immigrants currently in the city will likely cost the cash strapped government $255.7 million by the end of this year.
You brag you are a sanctuary city then you will have to pay the price for bragging you are a sanctuary city. How many homeless, hungry, and drug addicted city residents could have been helped by spending that $29.3 million on needy Americans and not those that Biden has allowed to come here illegally?
One last thought that has nothing to do with numbers: I know that I would not like to live in a tent city in Chicago in the winter, things are going to go from bad to worse once the frigid winds start blowing off Lake Michigan in the depths of January. The numbers here are definitely not good but the reality of tent living in Chicago in the winter is far worse.
5)Let’s go back to the fentanyl crisis that is killing an ever increasing number of Americaans as a result of Biden’s open borders and the tonnage of fentanyl that the Mexican drug cartels are shipping across the border:
Apparently, it is not just the drug cartels and their stateside dealers that are a problem.
A Riverside California Sheriff’s deputy was apprehended with over 520,000 illegal fentanyl pills in his possession.
Those pills weighed over 100 pounds.
Those pills would have been capable of killing over 2 million people.
How many Americans have to die before Washington and Biden actually lock down the border to prevent those deaths and prevent the corruption of even law enforcement people?
6) So, we have a California sheriff dealing drugs and killing people, let’s jump across the country to NYC and see what those drug numbers look like:
Apparently, in 2022, NYC had a record number of drug overdose deaths, 3,026.
This was the highest recorded annual number of deaths since record keeping for this started back in 2000.
This number is up 12% from the 2,696 overdose deaths reported in 2021 which was up about 30% from the 2,100 drug overdose deaths in the year 2020.
This comes out to 43 overdose deaths for every 100,000 city residents and about 8 overdose deaths every day on average.
Fentanyl was involved in 81% of the city overdose deaths in 2022.
Even worse than the ever increasing fentanyl related deaths is a new street drug that is being smuggled into the country nicknamed “tranq” which is short for xylazine.
According to the city health commission, a NYC resident is dying from a drug overdose death every 3 hours on average.
Horrible, horrible numbers for Americans, most of which is being caused by Biden's awful and fatal border policies:
Americans are unnecessarily dying from drug overdoses around the country, from NYC to Californias and everywhere in between.
Americans are dying at the hands of criminal illegal immigrants showing up around the country.
Illegal immigrants are dying by the hundreds trying to make their way across multiple borders to our southern border as a result of Biden’s immigration policies.
Americans are likely dying as government resources are being diverted from filling the needs of homeless, hungry, and other Americans in need of drug addiction or medical support to house, feed and serve illegal immigrants.
Consider the following definition: Involuntary manslaughter involves doing something dangerous or negligent, killing someone in the process. Given everyone that is unnecessarily dying from Biden’s policies, is this administration guilty of involuntary manslaughter? Numbers and food for thought.
And while Biden’s border policy numbers are horrible, his other numbers, especially regarding the economy, are not good either. Worst President ever? The numbers seem to think so.
