Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)In our last post we discussed examples where it is obvious that national and local (San Francisco) politicians have no idea or do not want to help their citizens in need. With so many Americans homeless, hungry, or in need of medical attention, these politicians focus on other issues that do nothing to help needy Americans, wasting their time and our tax dollars on stupidity.
But apparently their ineptness is not restricted to San Francisco and Washington politicians:
The state of California is not in good shape.
High taxes, high crime, high rates of homelessness, residents and businesses fleeing the state, sky high state government debt, etc.
Given all of these problems, one would hope that the state government politicians would be laser focused on only addressing these high impact problems.
But as always with politicians, hope never wins out.
California politicians wasted time and resources passing legislation called the “Skittles Ban.”
This law outlawed the sale of any candy in the state of California that contains red dye No. 3 such as Skittles candy.
The law also bans 12,000 other products that contain the dye which could/might cause cancer.
So California residents are dying TODAY from drug addiction and homelessness. Residents TODAY are going hungry and homeless. But these problems take a back seat to something that might happen years and years from now because they ate too many Skittles in their life. Horrible priorities.
2)And although millions of Californians are hungry, homeless, and in need of medical attention, where is their governor these days? Apparently, he thought it was more important to be touring around China, halfway around the world. And even worse, he was videotaped playing basketball against what looks like a bunch of 8 year olds when he ran over one of those 8 year olds, knocking himself and the kid down to the ground.
Certainly not a good look, the state’s governor halfway around the world playing basketball, seriously? How out of touch can you be?
3)Back to Washington, a few posts back we discussed the reality that a current U.S. Senator Bob Menendex was arrested after the FBI raided his home and found a pile of cash and gold bars. He was charged with bribery and getting entangled with a businessman and the Egyptian government.
And apparently his legal problems are getting worse:
He was recently charged with additional bribery crimes.
The new indictment alleges, "Among other actions, MENENDEZ provided sensitive U.S. Government information and took other steps that secretly aided the Government of Egypt. It was a part and an object of the conspiracy that ROBERT MENENDEZ, the defendant, and others known and unknown, being a public official, directly and indirectly, would and did corruptly demand, seek, receive, accept, and agree to receive and accept something of value personally and for another person and entity, in return for being influenced in the performance of an official act and for being induced to do an act and omit to do an act in violation of his official duty."
Menendez denied that the new allegations were true.
Three other individuals have also been indicted.
Obviously, he is assumed innocent until proven guilty. But the more the charges that pile up, the more it seems that he is not pure and non-criminal.
4)It is pretty clear that Biden, his Cabinet and his international diplomacy have been a disaster:
He has never met with or called Putin to try and resolve the war in Ukraine.
Almost two years after the war started, Biden’s Secretary of State has met with the Russian foreign minister only one time.
China is threatening to invade Taiwan.
North Korea has advanced its nuclear weapons programs and is rumored to be supplying Russia with weapons and munitions.
China is making diplomatic inroads with countries around the world including Brazil, Cuba, Saudi Araabia, and other countries, all of which doesn't bode well for us.
Putin is pulling Russia out of the test ban nuclear treaty.
Not a good track record at all. But the biggest diplomacy failure of the Biden administration is the Middle East. Obviously, the area exploded when Hamas invaded Israel earlier last month in a barbarian rampage against innocent, unarmed citizens and kids and babies. Despicable, inhuman actions. But apparently the Biden administration had no idea what the reality was on the ground in the area.
Five days before the invasion by Hamas, Biden’s National Security advisor, Jake Sullivan, acclaimed that the Middle East was “quieter than it has been in decades.” Seriously, this was the result of his analysis? This is what he publicly claimed and what has now showed how out of touch he and Biden were and are:
“The Israeli-Palestinian situation is tense, particularly in the West Bank, but in the face of serious frictions, we have de-escalated crises in Gaza and restored direct diplomacy between the parties after years of its absence.”
When Biden took office, “U.S. troops were under regular attack in Iraq and Syria. … Such attacks, at least for now, have largely stopped.”
“The region is quieter than it has been for decades. … [Biden’s] approach returns discipline to U.S. policy. It emphasizes deterring aggression, de-escalating conflicts, and integrating the region.”
“We have acted militarily to protect U.S. personnel, and we have enhanced deterrence, combined with diplomacy, to discourage further [Iranian] aggression.”
Biden’s “disciplined approach frees up resources for other global priorities, reduces the risk of new Middle Eastern conflicts, and ensures that U.S. interests are protected on a far more sustainable basis.”
How wrong can an “expert” be? The situation in Gaza was NOT “deescalated.” The attacks on our armed forces in the area have NOT “been stopped.” The risk of new Middle Eastern conflicts has NOT been reduced.
Now, let’s not forget Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan to try and hit a political grandstanding date, a withdrawal that resulted in the unnecessary deaths and maiming of American service personnel from a known suicide bomber. And a withdrawal that left behind $80 billion worth of American taxpayer funded military supplies, supplies that are likely now causing chaos around the world.
Furthermore, keep in mind that a lot of the current terror and war in the Middle East is the responsibility of Iran, a terrorist regime that Biden was actually considering giving $6 billion to. Never has a Presidential administration been so stupid, so out of touch, and so wrong about foreign policy and strategy. Pathetic.
That will do it for today’s political class insanity: California politicians care more about candy ingredients and world travel, a U.S. Senator gets the alleged criminal heat turned up on himself, and Biden’s foreign policy achievements are not only non-existent but fatal to people all over the world.
