Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)We have often discussed the reality that San Francisco is a dying city. Homelessness, drug addiction, public defecation and urination, skyrocketing crime, high taxes, thousands of workers never coming back to downtown office buildings after the pandemic, a shrinking tax base, etc. Not a pretty picture.
One of the big problems the city has had is that retail stores are closing their city locations for a number of reasons, not the least of which is retail shoplifting gangs. The idiots down at town hall decided to pass a law a few years ago that said unless you are stealing merchandise worth at least $900 or so, no big deal, no crime, no harm.
As a result, organized retail shoplifting gangs have come into being knowing that petty shoplifters will never be arrested or prosecuted. As a result stores are closed because they cannot make a profit when merchandise is constantly being looted. And now it is not just retail stores that are abandoning the city:
At least 20 bank branches have recently closed in the city.
This is more closed than the past two years combined.
It is the most closures in a year since 2000.
The closing of retail stores in the city and just fewer workers coming into the city are cited as reasons for the closings.
On one hand, you have to feel sorry for the residents of the city. Life is getting more and more complicated and inconvenient for them as the policies and laws passed by city politicians have resulted in fewer and more inconvenient shopping and banking locations. On the other hand, vote stupid politicians into office, get stupid results.
2) We could probably write multiple posts a day just trying to keep up with the corruption and payoffs of Joe Biden and his family and friends. From Russia to Ukraine to China to who knows where else, Biden has made his family and friends very wealthy.
But let’s just give a taste of Biden’s corruption:
Biden has consistently claimed that his family and himself never got money and rewards from foreign influence peddling.
According to the House Oversight Committee Chairman, James Comer, he has bank records to prove Biden lied again regarding getting cash from Chinese interests.
Apparently, bank records show that Chinese money was sent to Biden’s brother, James Biden and sister-in-law Sara Biden.
This money ties into a Hunter Biden message from his infamous laptop where he threatened Chinese clients to pay up because his father, at that time the Vice President, was sitting next to him.
A personal check for the $40,000 was then to Joe Biden who cashed the check.
According to Comer: "It all began with a shakedown in the summer of 2017, when Hunter Biden sent a message to his CEFC associate demanding a $10 million capital payment. As Hunter Biden extorted this associate, Hunter claimed he was sitting with his father and that the Biden network would turn on his associate if he didn't pony up the money. The extortion scheme worked."
The flow went as follows: Northern International Capital, which has ties to a company called CEFC which in turn was linked to the Chinese Communist Party, sent $5 million to a Hunter Biden company which then sent $400,000 to another Hunter Biden company, Owasco P.C., which then wired $150,000 to Lion Hall Group, a James and Sara Biden company, from which Sara withdrew $50,000 which she deposited in her personal account, and they then sent a check for $40,000 to Joe Biden.
Comer continued: "In taking funds sourced to a CCP-linked company that wanted to advance China's interests, Joe Biden exposed himself to future blackmail and put America's interests behind his own desire for money. The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money and will hold President Biden accountable for his corruption."
Unbelievable, so much effort being put forth to enrich himself and his family and friends while Americans go hungry, homeless, and in need of medical attention. Just another example of Washington's and Joe Biden’s despicable priorities.
3)And while Biden has and has always had despicable priorities and failed policies, maybe America is finally wising up to his ineptness and corruption:
A recent Gallup poll saw that Biden’s approval rating within the Democratic base dropped an amazing 11 points in just one month.
He also experienced a 4 point drop among independent voters with his approval rating with them hovering at an anemic 35%.
His overall approval rating among all voters dropped 4 points in a single month, coming in at anemic 37%.
His approval rating among Republicans is a minuscule 5%.
This overall approval rating matches the lowest point yet in his Presidency.
Really, really bad polling numbers. But consider this:
Millions of Americans are homeless, hungry, or in need of medical or drug addiction treatment.
Crime is skyrocketing in many Democratically controlled cities.
Inflation is wreaking havoc with lower and middle class families.
Food, utilities, and gas prices are just a few of the necessities of life that cost so much more than when Biden took over.
Biden’s budgeting plans will add well over two trillion dollars to the national debt.
He has no plan and has made no effort to bring peace to the Ukraine/Russia war while sending well over $100 billion of American taxpayer money down the drain in that war.
He has no plan to stem the violence and hate in the Middle East.
His immigration policies have flooded this country with millions of un-vetted and un-vaccinated illegal immigrants, tons and tons of illegal drugs that will end up killing thousands and thousands of Americans, organized crime elements from Central and South America, ordinary criminal elements, terrorists, etc.
Just one horrible Presidential administration whose failures raise the following philosophical question: Given Biden’s failed administration, why do 37% of Americans STILL approve of his performance? And why do they approve of his performance given the above list of disasters?
4)It has always been our conclusion that the people serving in Congress very, very often have no clue about life or how to make the country a better place, given their ignorance on so many levels:
A Georgia Congressman once fretted in a public Congressional hearing that the island of Guam could actually tip over if too many armed forces resources were stationed on the island.
35 years after the war in Vietnam ended, a Texas Congresswoman asserted that both South and North Vietnam still existed and that the government in North Vietnam was taking care of the citizens of South Vietnam.
A New York Congresswoman, who has a business degree from a reputable university, asserted that the reason that unemployment was so low during the Trump administration was because many people had to hold down two jobs which suppressed the unemployment rate, a completely ignorant and incorrect understanding of how the unemployment rate is calculated despite her college background in business.
That same Congresswoman was captured on video claiming that our country had three branches of government: the Presidency, the House of Representatives, and the Senate. Apparently she forgot about the Supreme Court and had no very basic idea of how our country’s government is structured despite being a member of Congress.
And the Congressional stupidity marches on. Consider:
Congresswoman Cori Bush is the latest member of Congress to show her ignorance.
She was recently ranting about how the wealthy in this country need to be taxed at higher rates.
She falsely claimed that today, poor, middle class, and wealthy Americans are all taxed at the same rate which is plainly wrong.
The higher one’s income, the higher the effective income tax is for that individual.
When confronted with this simple reality by a reporter she stuttered, stumbled, and embarrassed herself with a non-reply to this reality and her ignorance.
Specifically, Bush stated: “If a third of my money is going to taxes, then I think a third of their [the very rich] money should be going to taxes.”
Nothing could be further from the truth. Many low income people pay nothing in Federal income taxes, given the current tax code, not a “third.” The marginal tax rates go up as one earns more money, e.g. people who earn between $11,001 to $44,725 have a marginal tax rate of 12% while people who earn over $578,126 have the excess over that amount taxed at 37%.
These are the types of people who are running the country: they think islands can actually tip over, they have no clue on foreign affairs and reality, they have no clue what the definition of employment is, they do not know the basic structure of our government, and do not know the very, very basic facts about our income tax code.

That will do it for today: San Francisco slowly fades into oblivion, Biden continues to cash out on his government position, Biden continues to slip in the polls, and ignorance and stupidity continue to rule in Congress.
