November, 2024, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Biden Gets Us Closer To World War III, Kamala Gets Her Nails Done For $5,000, and Americans Go Hungry While Biden Finances Hamas

 Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of efficiently operating any level of government in this country. 

Even their best efforts are almost always ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.

1)Mostly liberal pundits. politicians, and news media people have been going crazy since Trump got elected, gathering a majority of total votes cast, by accusing Trump voters of being Nazis, garbage, fascists, sexists, racists, low educated, and a myriad of other personal insults to Americans simply exercising their voting and First Amendment rights. 

Most of them do not see the trees for the forest: survey after survey showed that the number one concern of the American voter was the economy: high overall price inflation, higher gas prices, higher food prices, higher energy costs, higher mortgage rates, higher prices for just about everything. And these higher prices have made it harder and harder for the average American to feed and shelter their families. They are not fascists, Nazis, sexists, racists, they are simply people trying to get by.

This reality is ongoing in the food banks around the country:

• Food banks in all states including the critical swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin are seeing record demand for their services.

• Rising costs of food and other life necessities are forcing more and more families to seek food support help.

• Things have gotten so dire that some folks are claiming that the country,, the wealthiest country in the world, is in the midst of a “hunger crisis.”

• Joe Arthur, who heads up the Central  Pennsylvania Food Bank, claims that his organization has seen a 50% growth in food demand from his outfit since 2021, the year Biden became President: “The need we’re seeing today is as high as it was at the peak of the pandemic.”

• GFG Good pantry worker in Wisconsin, Rochelle Gamauf, claims she is seeing people looking for food help that had “never visited a food pantry in their life,” blaming the sharp increase in rent and utility bills that is driving many families to seek food assistance.

• Ken Estelle, who heads Feeding America West Michigan, claims his organization is overwhelmed by demand. “We have never seen this level of need in our 43 years of service.” 

• According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, since Biden was installed as President in  January 2021 until September 2024, electricity prices increased roughly 28 percent, grocery prices increased by 21.6 percent, and rent prices increased by roughly 23 percent.

Americans are not Nazis, fascists, sexists or racists, they are having trouble feeding their families and that is why Kamala Harris is not going to be President. It is a shame that liberal politicians, media types and Hollywood actors and actresses do not get it and would prefer to defame rather than try to understand.

2)And while average Americans by the millions are having trouble feeding their families and coping with other inflation pressures in their lives, consider what Kamala Harris has been doing over the past few months:

• In our last post, we discussed the obscenity of how she had spent about a billion dollars in three months on her campaign and still lost.

• We calculated that, theoretically, those one billion dollars could have fed every homeless American three meals a day for six months.

• And not only did she spend a billion dollars in a very short time, her campaign overspent her resources by $20 million.

• And it now appears that $5,000 of that billion dollars was wasted by her in the most disgusting way possible.

• According to the Daily Mail, which went through the Harris campaign financial filings, Harris spent $5,000 to have fingernail  artist, Tahvya Krok, give herself a fingernail manicure.

• Let me say that again: Harris spent $5,000 of her campaign donations to get a manicure, an expenditure that I would bet her campaign donors did not have in mind when they wrote their check for her campaign.

• According to the Daily Mail report, that $5,000 could have paid the food bill for a typical American family for five months.

Let’s review: Trump voters are not sexist, Nazis etc. because they are having trouble feeding their families while Harris is spending $5,000 to a fingernail  artist to look pretty. A despicable disconnect of reality and vanities between average Americans and the political  elite.

3)Not only have Biden’s immigration and economic policies been total  failures, but he has no foreign affairs or diplomatic accomplishments to  brag about either. And one of his biggest failures has been in the Ukraine/Russia war:

• To my knowledge he has not met with or even had a conversation with Putin to try and put an end to the war and its suffering and deaths.

• To my knowledge, his failure of a Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has met with his equivalent, the Russian foreign minister, a total of one time since the war began.

• He has sent about $200 billion dollars of taxpayer wealth to the Ukranians to help fight the war, an endless stream of dollars with no end in sight, given his failed or lack of diplomacy on this issue.

And his latest idiocy probably puts us closer to World War III than at any time in history:

• He recently announced that he has authorized Ukraine to use U.S. supplied,  long range missiles to be fired even deeper into Russia.

• Up until now, he had required that restrictions be placed on how deeply these missiles could be fired into Russia.

• This change in authorization could mean that more Russian civilians will be killed by the U.S.  made missiles.

• Supposedly this is to counter the reality that thousands of North Korean troops are on the way to fight the Ukranians.

What a mess. Biden’s failure at diplomacy has brought more and more nations into the conflict and let’s be clear: firing U.S. missiles deeper into Russia could and likely will force Putin to save face and retaliate and before you know it we are in a death spiral towards war.

Oh, on a side note: the United Nations continues to be nowhere to be found years after the war started, proving again how impotent and useless the organization is when it comes to world peace.

4)Over the years, the U.S., the  U.N. and other countries have sent untold billions and billions of dollars in aid to the Gaza Strip and its rulers, the terrorist group, Hamas. Those dollars and aid could probably have been used to create a modern society of infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and other needs to serve the people of Gaza.

Instead, the terrorist leaders of Gaza have diverted billions of dollars into underground, military tunnels and fortifications, purchased billions of dollars of weapons and ammunition, and spent billions of dollars training its citizens, all with the intention of wiping Israel  off of the map. Meanwhile, most of their citizens live in poverty and fear.

Nevertheless, even  given this history of squandering aid for war:

• The U.S. Agency for International Development has recently announced it is giving another $230 million to the Palestinians.

• The agency announced the money is going to “relieve the suffering of Palestinians and be used to support economic recovery development programs in the West Bank and Gaza.”

• But like every other adi package, you can bet that a huge chunk of that $230 million will be funneled into future terrorism actions.

• This $230 million is in addition to the $190 million that Hamas got earlier in the year.

• Michael Doran, a senior fellow and director at the Hudson Institute’s Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East gets it: “A significant chunk of this money, indirectly if not directly, funds Hamas.”

• Since October 7, 2023, the day that Hamas launched a horrific attack on Israeli civilians, killing 1,200 and kidnapping hundreds more, the aid agency has given Hamas over $2 billion.

•  Amy Tohill-Stull, the West Bank and Gaza mission director at USAID claims that:  “This funding demonstrates our resolve to support sustainable development and provide essential services that enhance the quality of life for all Palestinians and further reduce the influence of Hamas.”

Thus, while Ms. Tohill-Stull is sending taxpayer wealth over to terror infested organizations in the Middle East to “enhance the quality of life for all Palestinians:”

• 600,000 Americans are currently homeless.

• Millions of American families are having challenges in feeding their families, gasing up their cares, and paying their utility bills as Biden’s inflationary policies drive up prices across the board.

• Well over 100,000 Americans will die of drug overdoses this year because they could not get the drug addiction help they needed.

• Over 20 million Americans are short changing their families from a healthcare perspective since they cannot afford health insurance.

• Thousands of American families suffered significant losses as a result of the two most recent hurricanes.

But she brags about how much  money she can  send halfway around the world, much of which will be diverted into terrorism activities. Nice priorities.

That will do it for today: More American taxpayer dollars for terrorists while Americans go hungry, Biden gets us closer and closer to World  War III, and Kamala gets her nails done for $5,000.

Part 3, September, 2013 Political Class Insanity: Letting America's Hungry Starve, Paying For Nothing In Afghanistan and More

This is a third in a series of posts we are doing early this month to try and capture the lunacy, idiocy, and other insanity that the American political class has dumped on us recently. The first post in this series can be accessed at:

We do this political class insanity at the beginning of every month. Since 2009, when we started this feature, we have seen the monthly insanity grow almost exponentially every month. What once could be summarized in one blog post now takes many days to cover. Thus, it will not be likely that today’s information will be the end of the insanity.

1) Government insanity is not restricted to Washington. A blurb in the July, 2013 issue of Reason magazine shows that the government insanity reaches down to the local government also. James Kelly, a homeless man in Houston, was actually given a summons for “disturbing the contents of a garbage can.”  Kelly is quoted in the article that he was just looking for something to eat, given his homeless status, but apparently in Houston trying not to go hungry is against the law.

Three things wrong here. First, the man is homeless and hungry, do we really have to make him a criminal? It does not appear he was flinging the garbage into the street or attacking some one with it, he was just hungry. Second, do we really think that he is going to pay the summons/fine, he’s homeless! Third, Houston’s local government bureaucracy actually spent taxpayer resources and money to write and enforce a law about “disturbing the contents of a garbage can?” Is this really necessary? Insane.

2) But denying food to America’s hungry seems to be an ongoing theme of politicians in America. Not only is looking for food in a garbage can a criminal offense, we previously reported on a fight hunger program that was shut down by the Louisiana state government that allowed hunters to donate food that they had hunted to local food banks, denying hundreds of thousands of meals to hungry citizens of that state. Not to be outdone, New York City recently shut down a load of food banks. The reason? These food banks had been collecting healthy, uneaten, fresh surplus food from city restaurants and giving it to the hungry and homeless in New York without the city being able to check for SALT CONTENT. 

The hungry and homeless were denied the same food that other city residents would have eaten in these restaurants who donate because no one could check the salt content which could be unhealthy. Thus, better to deny food to today’s hungry and homeless in the hopes of lowering their salt intake would help them live longer. Beyond bizarre reasoning, let them suffer from not having any food but their salt profile is improving. You cannot make this stuff up.

3) Fortunately, the same food insanity was thwarted in Dallas which was also trying to stop the hungry from eating perfectly good food. The courts stepped in when the Dallas political class passed  an ordinance that required any program that fed the homeless and hungry had to fulfill a long list of mostly useless requirements including having restroom and washing facilities, city approval of food bank locations, and supervision by someone who had taken a food safety course.

In most of these food banks disasters, the operators of the food banks have been doing the same thing for years and decades without seriously injuring the health of the needy. These are compassionate and loving people trying to take care of Americans who are down on their luck. It is a shame that the politicians in this country try to prevent their kind actions via stupid regulations and ordinances.

4) According to a recent analysis and report from the Special Inspector General For Afghanistan Reconstruction, hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars are being misspent or wasted. The article, printed in the August 9, 2013 issue of The Week magazine, pointed out that the Pentagon is insisting that $772 million worth of aircraft be purchased for the Afghan military even though… wait for it… “the Afghans lack the capacity to operate and maintain them.”

The Inspector General found little or no oversight of contractors and the overall conclusion “is one of weak monitoring, duplicitous contractors, and hundreds of millions spent on facilities the U.S. military won’t use or the Afghans don’t want or can’t feasibly use.”  And there are still no White House tours and apparently, no one losing their jobs in the Pentagon or this administration for wasting hundreds of millions of dollars.

5) The fabulous Bankrupting America website had a fascinating, if depressing, article on its website on August, 22, 2013. It cited a New York Times article that stated that in June 2013, American households’ real median income was $2,400 below the level it was at in June 2009, the month the Great Recession officially ended and five months after President Obama took office. 

This is what the administration’s and Washington’s economic policies and lack of expertise have wrought on every American, a substantial drop in household income AFTER the recession ended. According to the website, theoretically, the following is what American households could have purchased with that missing $2,400 if the Washington political class had even the faintest idea of how to keep household income stagnant in the past four years:

• 5 Car Payments. Americans’ average monthly car payment is $460. $2,400 could pay for more than five months of payments.
• Back To School Gear For About Four Children. The Associated Press recently reported: “The National Retail Federation trade group predicts that families with school-age children will spend an average of $634.78 on shoes, clothes, supplies and electronics, with total back-to-school spending expected to reach $72.5 billion.” $2,400 could fund back-to-school shopping for nearly four children.
• 3 Months Of Food. The average four-person household spends $777 on food a month. $2,400 could pay for more than three months of food.
• 2 Years Of College Textbooks. According to The Huffington Post, “the College Board puts the annual cost of books and materials at $1,168.” $2,400 is more than two years worth of books.
• Wipe Out Half Of All Credit Card Debt. According to CBS News, in the first quarter of 2013, “Average credit card debt per borrower fell 1.7 percent to $4,878 …” $2,400, of course, would erase about half of that debt.

The math is simple, the economic policies of the past four years out of Washington have been a disaster, hampering American families’ ability to afford transportation, by clothes and school supplies for their kids, feed their families, help their college age kids afford school, and ease their credit debt burden.

6) The Federal government obviously has a lot of secrets. It obviously sits on a whole lot of sensitive information. It obviously wants to protect those secrets and sensitive information. That is why it goes through what was thought to be a thorough employment screening process before hiring anyone who has access to that information and secrets.

Or so we thought. According to an article in the July 15, 2013 issue of Business Week, those secrets and sensitive information might not be as protected as we think and as the nation deserves:

• Former investigator and employment screener, Kayla Smith, submitted 1,600 phony credit reports over an 18 month period, according to the Inspector General for the U.S. Office Of Personnel Management (OPM).
• She pleaded guilty to these potential breeches in security and received three years probation and paid a criminal fine of almost $100,000.
• Ramon Davila was another screener. He filed numerous reports claiming he interviewed people for background checks that he never actually talked to and claimed to have obtained records that he never obtained.
• He pleaded guilty to Federal charges and is awaiting sentencing.
• Another screener, Anthony Domico, claimed to have interviewed someone that had been dead for over ten years. He got five months prison time and paid almost $70,000 in criminal fines.
• In total, 20 investigators/screeners have been found guilty or convicted of “fraudulently manipulating documents.”

According to the article, the government is pretty sure that these are not the only culprits, that screenings and backgrounds checks are being falsified and forged by many others. 

The obvious issue here is that there are quite possibly many people that were hired as government workers under false pretenses and who have access to some of the most secret secrets and most sensitive sensitive information that the Federal government possesses. Who knows what damage they will wrought on our national security, our personal identities, and who knows what else. All because the Federal government and the political class that operate it cannot even manage to run a competent hiring process.

Starving America’s hungry, wasting money for no reason in Afghanistan, cutting our household income, and bypassing security protocols and processes when hiring Federal workers. Horrific performances from your political class, a performance that we still have not covered in full. More horrors to come tomorrow.

December, 2012 Political Class Insanity, Part 1: Food Insanity Around the Food, Overpaid Federal Employees, Debt and More Debt

At the beginning of every month we review the latest political insanity, idiocy, and wasteful spending that the political class has recently inflicted on us. Unfortunately, over time, the number of posts each month that we have dedicated to such insanity has grown as the politicians in this country continue to under serve us with all sorts of bad policies, behavior, and embarrassments. This month is no exception, as we will probably need at least three posts this week just to cover everything they have done over the past month or so.

Let’s start with our favorite source of political class insanity, the latest issue of Reason Magazine:

1) Some citizens of Prince George’s county in Maryland apparently do not like being watched by the many traffic light cameras that have been installed around the county to catch traffic violators. Since April, 2012, six of the cameras have been vandalized and destroyed, one of which was shot and another of which was burned.

Replacing these cameras is expensive, costing anywhere from $30,000 to $100,000 for each one. Thus, the county announced in September that they will be installing a dozen surveillance cameras to watch the traffic cameras in an attempt to find out who is destroying the traffic cameras. There was no word on how the county was going to prevent the surveillance cameras from being vandalized in the same way the traffic cameras were being vandalized.

Rather than buying, installing, and maintaining these expensive cameras that someone obviously wants to destroy, would it not be a better economic solution to just hire a few more police officers to enforce traffic laws? They are certainly much less likely to be vandalized.

2) Most informed Americans know that the Federal government debt is well over $16 TRILLION or over $50,000 for every American citizen. Unfortunately, that is not the end of the debt nightmare. State governments are currently on the hook for about $4.2 TRILLION in unfunded debt obligations in the future or about $13,000 for every American citizen.

Thus, in addition to home mortgages, car loans, student, loans, etc., the average American, child or adult, will at some point have to pony up well over $60,000 just to bail out the Federal government and state governments whose politicians who have written checks, made promises, and incurred debt that they had no idea how to pay for.

3) The insanity of politicians is not restricted to this country. Politicians and bureaucrats in Falun, Sweden ordered a local school to reduce its vegetable lunch buffet by half and start selling less healthy store bought bread rather than the freshly baked bread it was making every day.

Why? The changes were ordered because the government officials felt it was not fair that students in other schools did not get the same healthy choices at lunch as this school.

Rather than really fix the problem the logical, correct way, find a way for all students to eat healthier, the officials took the insanity route and penalized some kids by making them eat less healthy meals. Idiocy.

4) According to an article in the this latest, January, 2013 issue of Reason magazine and a study by the Cato Institute, a Federal government employee earns an annual average salary of $74,800 while an average American working in the private sector earns $44,400. Is it any wonder that we have a national debt of over $16 TRILLION?

But Reason magazine is not the only source of political class insanity:

5) The city of Chicago is not in the best of shape these days. It has seen its murder rate escalate dramatically over the past few years. It just went through an ugly teachers strike which identified how high Chicago teachers salaries are for very low teaching levels of excellence. It is under severe financial stress and has historically been on of the most corrupt city governments in the country.

Given all of these challenges, one would have hope that the city’s politicians would be focused on these serious pubic safety and financial problems. However, according to a Chicago-Sun Times article from November 14, 2012, this is not the case:

• Obama’s former chief of staff and current Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel, wants to impose nutritional restrictions on more than 350 vending machines in city buildings.
• These restrictions would prevent the vending machine owners and the customers that use the machines little say in what is offered.
• The new guidelines allow “high calorie” beverages to make up just one-quarter of all cold drinks sold. The definition of high calories is a ridiculously low 25 calories per serving.
• All hot beverages must also come in below 25 calories.
• Only containers of water and seltzer are allowed to be larger than 12 fluid ounces.
• Just one in four snacks sold can contain more than 250 calories.
• A certain number of snacks must also have less than 250 mg of sodium per serving.
• Additionally, each vending machine must have nut-free and gluten-free offerings.

Obviously, a lot of thought went into this idea, given the amount of details these machines will have to conform to. A lot of misguided thoughts. Taken to the extreme, in the context of Chicago’s real problems, we can assume that the increasing number of murder victims may die healthier deaths in Chicago, Chicago’s kids may be under educated in a healthier way, and Chicago’s corrupt politicians will eat better while ripping off the city’s taxpayers. Talk about a bad set of priorities that divert attention and resources to nonsensical problems while real, every day problems get worse.

6) But Chicago is not alone when it comes to food insanity. As you read the following craziness, keep in mind that almost 50 million Americans are receiving Federal food stamp assistance and that 23 million Americans are either unemployed or under employed so many Americans are struggling with the basic need to feed themselves and their families. According to a recent CBSNews,com report:

• As of October 31, shelters, soup kitchens, and similar facilities in New York City are barred from accepting food donations unless packaged and bearing nutrition data.
• That, effectively means an end to the tons of free meals previously provided by the likes of good hearted citizens like Glenn Richter, who has collected surplus food from synagogues to share with the poor for some 20 years.
• The new rules require that either meals and snacks served to the needy be prepared in compliance with precise nutrition standards laid out by government bureaucrats or not be served at all.
• Thus, all shelters and food banks are no longer allowed to accept food donations that are not prepackaged, because it is virtually impossible to know the precise nutritional content of such foods.
• This means that restaurants, churches, and community groups can no longer easily give surplus or prepared food to those who need it most, food that would have perfectly legal to serve to paying customers but apparently now is not good enough to serve to Americans who really are in need.
• The rules also bar all donations of candy or sugar-sweetened beverages. Heaven forbid that a homeless child should enjoy a free treat once in a while.

I know of know cases or calamities or deaths where caring people in food banks gave out bad food to those in need. As with the example cited, Mr. Richter has been serving the needy for 20 years. I am pretty sure that the city would have shut him down long before now if he was doing something terribly wrong.

This is a prime example where our governments and the politicians have spiraled out of control. It is where government bureaucracies and the politicians that oversee them have gotten so out of touch with America and basic reality that now many more Americans are likely to go hungry for no good reason at all. That is the true definition of political class insanity.

On that sad note we will end today’s version of the latest idiocy from our politicians. But rest assured more will follow in the next few days as reality slips away from those that politically serve America.
