December, 2019, Part 6, Political Class Insanity: Hillary Sees Russians Everywhere, Elizabeth Warren's Failed Math Skills, and CNN Continues to Commit Integrity Suicide

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) First, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats accused Trump of being a secret Russian agent. The country spent about $30 million on the Robert Mueller investigation and found out that Trump was not a Russian agent. Then Clinton accused fellow Democrat and Democratic Presidential candidate, Tulsi Gabbard, of being a Russian agent without providing any evidence to support this accusation. Gabbard rebutted and admonished Clinton for making this baseless accusation.

Clinton is still at it, apparently seeing Russians behind every tree. In a recent Howard Stern interview she asserted that the Russians have said, “let’s do everything we can to elect Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.” Again, I am not aware that she provided any proof that the Russians were colluding with Sanders, I guess we are supposed to take her word for it.

But later on in the interview you get why she is slandering Sanders. She complains that Sanders “hurt her.” She followed that up with, “I hope he doesn’t do it again to whoever gets the nomination.” It seems that she is still bitter about losing not only to Trump but she blames Sanders for undercutting her. And thus, she brands him as a Russian agent as revenge for him daring to oppose her.

As far as Gabbard is concerned, maybe Clinton is envious of another Democratic woman besides herself becoming the first woman President. Whatever the case, her infatuation with branding everyone a Russian agent is sad and dangerous since if there ever is an American politician who is actually a Russian agent, we probably will not believe it since Hillary played the Chicken Little/Russian agent card too often based on nothing.

2) We have often shown examples of the many skills that most politicians lack: logic, economic training, project management, etc. Elizabeth Warren recently illustrated another skill that politicians lack, basic math skills:

• Warren has been running around the country promising a lot of free stuff to voters and vowing to enact a whole slew of government operated programs and processes in an attempt to appeal to liberals and socialists in this country, most socialists.
• This free stuff includes Medicare For All, the New Green Deal, forgiving college debt, free college tuition, etc. 
• The obvious question is how Warren would pay for all of these socialism goodies since nothing is free in life.
• Most estimates of the Medicare for All idea would be an increment $3.2 TRILLION a year in government spending, the cost of forgiving college debt would be $1.6, and the cost of the New Green Deal could be another $1 TRILLION a year bringing just these three promises to about $44 TRILLION over ten years.
• Keep those numbers in mind when you consider what Warren recently said at a National Education Association meeting when questioned how she would fund additional educational programs.
• She answered by flippantly and ignorantly stating that “there’s always money. It’s there.”
• She seems to think that she owns all of our wealth and it is at her disposal to do as she pleases.
• She also seems to think that there is no end to the amount of wealth there is in this country, a completely ignorant economic position.
• She went on to say that she would change budget priorities to fund her pipe dreams including reducing the defense budget.
• Now, while the defense budget should probably be reduced, given how much money the Pentagon wastes every year, let’s do some math to show how out of touch Warren is with mathematics reality.
• The annual Pentagon budget is about $700 billion every year.
• If she reduced the Pentagon budget by 100%, something that is impossible and stupid to do, she would free up about $7 TRILLION for her freebies and other socialism projects over the next ten years.
• But we just showed how over ten years she would need $44 TRILLION to fund just three of her pet programs.
• Thus, reducing the Defense Department budget to $0 would still leave her $37 TRILLION short of her needed funding or about 84% short of her funding needs.
• To fill this $37 TRILLION hole every American citizen, men, women, and kids would have to pay about $115,000 EACH to get the funding she needs or about $11,5000 a year for ten year per person. 
• Thus, a family of four would have to pay $46,000 a year.
• And this would leave us without any armed forces at all.
• If she reduced the Pentagon budget by 10%, a more realistic assumption, she would be over $43 TRILLION short of her needed funding.

As you can see, we are in the ridiculous arena of math calculations. But that is because her program ideas and the needed funding are ridiculous. Do none of these people have any logic or math skills? And even if they do not have these basic skills, is there no one on their staffs that can point out how stupid these ideas are? Scary that these types of people are trying to run the country.

3) We have often pointed out how important a free, unbiased press is in a democracy and for liberty of a nation’s citizens. And we have also lamented how the free press and the journalism profession in this country has failed miserably in this important responsibility. Most mainstream news outlets in this country lean heavily in favor of the left side of the spectrum, so much so that poll after poll show that the American public realize how biased and dangerous such bias is:

• Recent Pew Research found that respondents felt that journalists behave unethically almost always or sometimes 66% of the time.
• Recent Gallup research shows that only 23% of respondents felt that they only had a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in newspapers.

Which shows that we really do not trust the people/”journalists” that are bringing us the news today. But that is also a good news story in that we at least know we are not being fed the truth in an unbiased way and that good news has manifested itself in the recent crash of CNN ratings, a news institution that was once felt to be trustworthy, a time that has long passed:

• CNN’s TV ratings have recently hit a multi-year low.
• Over Thanksgiving weekend, in the important 25-64 demographic, CNN hit a three year new low in ratings, according to Nielsen Media Research.
• In total, CNN averaged only 620,000 viewers every night over that weekend.
• This put their performance below other cable networks including AMC, the Food Network, and the Hallmark Channel.
• Thus, there is a very good chance that the biased reporting of CNN often lost out to Cupcake Wars on the Food Channel or they fell below a hokey Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel.
• At the same time, Fox News had more than three times as many viewers, two million, and MSNBC had more than twice as many than CNN.

Again, this is a double edged sword. On one hand, CNN and other mainstream news outlets have failed the American people and their own industry’s integrity and trust standards with their biased and skewed news reporting. This has endangered our democracy and freedoms since a free, unbiased press has always been an anti-tyranny bastion. 

The good news is that a good many Americans have realized that CNN and others are not really journalism outlets anymore as much as they are biased ratings machines, truth be damned. We can only hope that at some point in time real journalism returns to this country as opposed to what the likes of CNN is now propagating.

That will do it for today: in Hillary’s world everyone is a Russian agent, In Elizabeth Warren’s world basic math laws math are suspended, and in the news world, CNN’s integrity and trust continue to plummet as their reporting becomes more and more skewed.

June, 2015,Part 9, Political Class Insanity: Obama's Failed Promises, The Failed Promises Of Home Ownership Rates, Silk Scarves Or Bribes, and More

It is the start of another month which means it is time to review the latest political class insanity that the American political class has dropped on our heads in the past month or so. We do this review every month in order to continually prove our view that we are currently being served by the worst set of politicians in the history of our country. Their inane quotes, their failed programs and laws, their wasteful spending, their ineptness, and continued focus on their own careers and self enrichment at the expense of taxpayers is constant and disgraceful.

This month could be one of the worst ever, given the backlog that needs to be discussed. The insanity will cover a full range of areas where today’s politicians continue to disappoint and fail us. As always, the new ways they find to screw up is never ending and always creative.

Today is the ninth update to the insanity for this month:

1) Starting with the Carter administration and accelerated during the Clinton administration, mostly Democratic politicians strived to make homeownership more affordable for Americans. This lead to the Federal government, via Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, taking on more and more less creditworthy customers and their mortgages which led to the housing bubble which led to the Great Recession.

In turn, the Great Recession led to record high foreclosure rates, trillions of dollars of wealth lost in the housing market, high unemployment, major banks and financial institutions going out of business or requiring billions in taxpayer bailouts, and the American taxpayer getting stuck paying billions and billions of dollars to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Throughout all of this heartache, stress, and cost at least more American own their homes today, right? Wrong, consider the percentage of homeownership as reported by the U.S.Census over time:

Back in the Carter years and through most of Clinton’s years, the homeownership rate in America stayed pretty constant at around 65%. Six years after the Great Recession ended, after trillions of dollars of wealth was lost as a result of the housing induced recession, the homeownership in America is….about 65%. We have come full circle as a result of the political class’s actions in the housing market. And have nothing to show for it except a weakened economy and trillions more in national debt. A typical Washington program, no progress at great cost. Insane.

2) Followers of this blog know that the Washington political class has never been a beacon of integrity and honesty over the years. This reality was driven home again in a short article that appeared in the May 29, 2015 issue of The Week magazine:

• The House Ethics Committee is looking into a foreign trip that was made by ten members of Congress and 32 members of their staffs to Azerbaijan. 
• While the trip apparently did not cost the American taxpayer any direct money, those on the trip were allegedly showered with expensive gifts and tens of thousands of dollars in trip expenses. 
• The gifts included such items as silk scarves, expensive native rugs, and crystal tea sets with the travel expenses alone costing almost $113,000.
• The trip was secretly sponsored and paid for by the Azerbaijani oil company, SOCAR, who was looking to to have a gas pipeline project it wants to do with Iran exempted from the current economic sanctions the West has placed on Iran.

If Washington politicians had any sense of integrity they would have simply said “No” to the exemption request because that is why the sanctions are in place. Instead, they milked their positions and possibly compromised their integrity for a few scarves and rugs and an expensive trip. Pathetic.

3) We have covered the many failed promises, lies and deceptions of this President too many times to count over the years:

• If you like your current insurance policy, you can keep it under Obama Care. False.
• If you like your current doctor, you can keep him under Obama Care. False.
• Annual insurance costs will go down up to $2,500 for American households under Obama Care. False.
• We will go through every line of the Federal budget to root out wasteful spending. False.
• We will reduce the annual Federal deficit by half by the end of my first term in office. False.
• I will operate the most transparent administration in the history of the country. False.

We could go on and on but you get the idea, this administration has either failed to deliver on every promise or never had any intention of delivering on any promise, using lies and deceptions just for election purposes. And another one of those grandiose promises was broken according to a recent Businessweek article:

• In 2011, the President boldly stated that: “I’m directing our departments and our agencies to make sure 100% of the vehicles they buy are fuel-efficient or clean-energy cars and trucks by 2015. Not 50%, not 75% - 100% of our vehicles.”
• Fast forward to the Businessweek article: In the past six years, only  7% of the Federal government vehicle purchases have fulfilled Obama’s 2011 goal of 100% of vehicles purchased be fuel efficient or clean energy.

Close, missed this goal by just 93%. But I guess this is a better performance than the TSA which failed 96% of the time to find test bombs and weapons at its airport checking stations.

Really sad that whenever we hear Obama boldly state something, anything, we have to assume it is false, a lie, or will never happen, given his poor track record on everything from the budget to Obama Care to government vehicle purchases. Unfortunately, if he should ever tell us something important that is true, we are likely to never believe him, given his abysmal track record of false and empty statements over the years.

That will do it for today’s political class insanity and also this month's insanity. It is not as if we covered it all but after eight posts, and the depressing news that each post contained relative to the ineptness of America’s politicians, it is time to move on to other depressing topics.

Rest assured that the same time next month we are likely to have just about as many examples of wasteful spending, political greed, inept government programs, and who knows what new insanity awaits the American taxpayer.

The Corurption and Hunger Games Mentality of the Political Class, Part 4:Skimming Taxpayer Wealth in Newark and The EPA, Using The Fed As A Stairway To Wealth

This is our fourth post in this series where we are looking at the twin and intertwining themes of political class corruption and the Hunger Games mentality of most American politicians. The Hunger Games’ books and films are centered around the concept that politicians in the capital city live lavish and opulent lifestyles while the people outside of the capital city suffer through tough times and tough lives even though they are the ones that make the political class life style possible.

As a guide for reviewing political class corruption, we have been relying on the multi-level definition of corruption that the Webster online dictionary provides:

a : impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle : depravity

b : decay, decomposition 

c : inducement to wrong by improper or unlawful means (as bribery) 

d : a departure from the original or from what is pure or correct

Keep these definitions of corruption in mind as today we review a hodgepodge of corruption stories from different sectors of the political class. We started the hodgepodge yesterday with tales of a boozed up political class in Washington, illegal campaign fund raising activities, and greed and corruption at the state and local government levels. Today you will see more examples of integrity and moral impairment, depravity, decay, unlawful inducement, etc., along with good old basic greed.

EPA greed and wasteful spending corruption

On March 4, 2014, the inspector general (IG) at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that because of a severe lack of oversight, EPA Federal employees misused company credit cards:

• EPA employees spent taxpayer funds on items such as gym memberships, gift cards and food expenses. 
• The total scope of the greed, misspending, and waste was estimated at $29 million in purchases that occurred just during fiscal year 2012, according to stories carried in both The Washington Post and The Washington Examiner.
• The IG sampled $152,600 in “high risk” purchases and found that nearly 52% were in violation of the EPA’s mandatory review of payment management, which occurs at least every two years. 
• All in all, the IG discovered $79,300 in “prohibited, improper and erroneous” charges including $17,235 for “fitness” or gym memberships, $8,163 spent on gift certificates, $7,500 in “split purchases,” purchases were split to stay under the EPA’s allotted threshold for the expenses, $7,129 in purchased hotel rooms, $4,001 spent on food, and $1,596 spent on office supplies.

Despite being in existence for decades, apparently the executives at the EPA still have no concept on how to prevent EPA employees from corrupting the rules and using taxpayer wealth for their own benefit and personal use.

Cashing in on government service corruption

I do not know how to prevent the following example of impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle corruption but it certainly does not sit right from a morality perspective. A recent Wall Street Journal article reviewed the fact former Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke had a speaking engagement in Abu Dhabi at the Emirate’s Palace. 

It was coordinated by the National Bank of Abu Dhabi with the major sponsor, Citibank, hosting the affair. As Fed chairman, Bernanke had a major, major say on how Citibank would be treated relative to government policies and bailout funding back during the Great Recession and afterwards.

According to the article, he was paid $250,000, a whopping quarter of a million dollars, for just a 40 minute speech. For those forty minutes of talking, he made more money than what he made in all of 2013 when he was the Fed chairman, a government position that paid him $199,000. In other words, he earned over $6,000 per minute to justify to the audience his questionable Fed policies and actions taken over the past five or six years by the Fed.

If Bernanke gives just three more speeches this year and gets paid like he did in Abu Dhabi, he will have made a million dollars, 5 years worth of his government salary in less than three speaking hours. Not too shabby work if you can get it. 

I have always felt that government service should not be a pathway to making you rich. But the political class, from Congress to the White House to the Fed, has rigged the game that those fortunate enough to be in those political class positions can leverage those positions and the American government to their personal enrichment. That, to me, is the very definition of corruption and impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle.

Skimming money from government agencies corruption

This is another example of a more general problem and deceit when political figures find a way to divert government and taxpayer funds to themselves or their accomplices (which eventually gets back to them). If this alleged story is true, then New Jersey Senator Cory Booker is merely not smart enough to get away with the corruption and swindle, he is not an isolated case.

Some background. Cory Booker used to be the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, capping a long political career within that city. He was recently elected to the U.S. Senate. According to a March 8, 2014 report from the Western Center For Journalism, since the 1970’s, a long line of crooked Newark politicians have been skimming millions of dollars from The Newark Watershed Conservation Development Corporation (NWCDC), the agency that is the major supplier of water to Northern New Jersey. 

A recent New Jersey State Comptroller’s report outlined the depth of the criminal activity related to this agency during the last several years of Booker’s term as Newark’s mayor. It alleges that NWCDC’s chief, Linda Watkins-Brashear, once a close political ally of Senator Booker, spent most of her time lining her pockets and those of her friends with money siphoned from the budget of the agency.

The Comptroller’s report alleges that:

• Watkins-Brashear wrote unreported checks to herself for about $200,000 and collected another $700,000 in severance pay. 
• She diverted a million dollars to her ex-husband and other friends.
• She lost about $500,000 in “dubious stock ventures.”
• The Comptroller’s report also alleges that when Newark laid off 160 police officers in 2010, Watkins-Brashear, acting like a Hunger Games elite, treated herself and 20 guests to a lavish feast in an Atlantic City restaurant costing $1,400, dining on “… lobster, king crab, and filet mignon, washed down with martinis, cognac, and wine,” according to the Comptroller’s analysis and report.
• Watkins-Brashear insisted she should not be blamed for her actions since she “… acted at all times with the knowledge and approval of then Mayor Cory Booker’s administration.”

So, a member of the political class, Watkins-Brashear, readily admits to being loose and abusive with taxpayer wealth but seems to think it was okay since another member of the same political class, Cory Booker, approved the corruption of her actions. Not much of a defense but certainly a problem for the good Senator from New Jersey if true.

This is how fall our politicians have fallen from an integrity based culture: as long as another criminal politician approves the corruption, it is okay. And according to the article from Western Journalism, Booker is not the first one to abuse taxpayer funds via this agency, it has been going on for decades, he is just the latest one to allegedly continue the tradition of corruption.

That will do it for today. Three cases of the political class making themselves wealthy at three different levels of the government structure and political class: Federal EPA employees treating themselves with taxpayer wealth, a Fed chairman leveraging his dubious time as head of the Fed to get rich quick, and the continuing tradition of Newark political corruption, now being justified by citing the approval of other corrupt politicians.

We will finish up this corruption and Hunger Games theme tomorrow with an essay from an African-American journalist where he passionately and correctly calls out the greed and corruption, financial and moral, of the Obamas and other politicians in true Hunger Games fashion.

November, 2013 The Unfolding Disaster That Is Obama Care, Part 3: The Lied, They Deceived, They Are Killing Americans

This our third post this month that is focused on only reviewing the unfolding disaster that is Obama Care. The first post in this series can be accessed at:

We have done similar series both in October and September of this year but the disasters have just kept on coming, requiring us to go back to the subject again this month. In fact, there is so much going on that this series of posts is more a review of the idiocy and fiascos rather than analysis. 1) The Heritage Foundation reported on an Obama Care security breech last week. Justin Hadley, a North Carolina man who, after learning his insurance policy was being canceled due to Obama Care, logged on to HealthCare.gov and found a big surprise, the eligibility information of another family in a different state. It is assumed that this information included personal family  information, the type of data that identify thieves constantly look for and in this case, the government’s faulty processes just let out the info without even trying.

If the personal information of other families is given away willingly, imagine how easy it would be for a dedicated and experienced identity thief to infiltrate the Obama Care data systems and get other Americans personal info. Scary.

2) In that same Heritage post, they do a nice, succinct  job of laying out why Obama Care is a failing disaster, especially from a freedom and personal choice perspective [the following comes directly from their :

• Violates Obama’s Promises: Across the country, millions of Americans are finding out the same news as Justin: that the insurance they have and like is being taken away from them due to Obamacare. In fact, the cancellation notices being sent due to Obamacare may well exceed the number of Americans gaining coverage as a result of the law.
• Violates Families’ Pocketbooks: Justin was told that a new insurance plan with his same insurer would cost him 92 percent more in premiums. That’s because the mandates and requirements included in Obamacare are raising premiums for many Americans. A recent Heritage study found that, for those buying coverage in the private market, premiums will rise in 45 out of 50 states, in many cases doubling.
• Violates Principles of Freedom: For the first time ever, Obamacare forces Americans to buy a product. And Americans don’t just have to buy health insurance—they have to buy government-approved health insurance. That’s why many Americans are losing the current coverage they have and like—because it doesn’t meet the diktats of Washington bureaucrats.
• Violates Americans’ Consciences: Obamacare forces many employers to offer, and individuals to purchase, coverage that violates the core tenets of their faith regarding the protection of life. These requirements are currently being challenged in court cases across the country, as Americans protest the concept that they should have to choose between violating the law and violating their deeply held religious beliefs.

3) One of the big problems with Obama Care is that Americans are losing access to their preferred insurance plans and their preferred doctors. This is happening to millions of Americans around the country, far more than the 5% lie that the President tried to pawn off on America in an interview earlier last week. But besides just losing access to current plans and doctors, there is a bigger, more subtle disaster brewing.

Consider the story of a gall bladder cancer patient who wrote of her life threatening situation as a result of Obama Care. Her situation was eloquently described in a recent Wall Street Journal article that can be accessed at:

You see, one of the comebacks from Obama Care supporters is no big deal, if you lose your insurance, you can get new insurance from the Obama Care exchanges. However, what they do not say or do not understand is that all coverage is not the same. This American with gall bladder cancer has beat all odds with the help of preffered doctors, hospitals, and insurance plans that she is comfortable with and finds affordable.

However, any plans she might try to sign up for since losing her current plan do not include her doctors or her hospitals. She is going to have to start over again in her fight against cancer with strange doctors and hospitals that likely are not as good as her former medical support, given how well she has survived a fatal cancer. Her words from the article:

My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31.

Before the Affordable Care Act, health-insurance policies could not be sold across state lines; now policies sold on the Affordable Care Act exchanges may not be offered across county lines.

What happened to the president’s promise, “You can keep your health plan”? Or to the promise that “You can keep your doctor”? Thanks to the law, I have been forced to give up a world-class health plan. The exchange would force me to give up a world-class physician.

For a cancer patient, medical coverage is a matter of life and death. Take away people’s ability to control their medical-coverage choices and they may die. I guess that’s a highly effective way to control medical costs. Perhaps that’s the point.

She is part of the 5% Mr. President, a real life example of why Obama Care is not only bad for the healthy but possibly fatal for the ill. 

4) “If you like your plan and you like your doctors, you do not have to do a thing.” That was the promise that the President made numerous times over the past few years, something that the gallbladder patient we just discussed would take issue with. In fact, the following video clip show him making that very same promise 23 times over the past three years. 

In none of these instances of his own words does he say 5% of America will lose access to their preferred pans and preferred doctors, that millions of Americans will lose access to their plans and doctors, that the Obama Care exchange plans will be much more expensive relative to people’s previous insurance premiums and deductibles. It is a 17 minute video that does a great summary job of the lies and deceptions that the supporters of Obama Care have been operating under since it became law. It uses the President’s own words and then deconstructs the deceit behind those words. 

For example, he stands in front of Congress and pledges that the 10 year cost of Obama Care will be only about $900 billion, an estimate confirmed by the Congressional Budget Office. However, the underlying deceit is that he uses a ten year period in which Obama Care is not paying out costs and expenses in four of those years. 

When we look at the ten year period that begins with the actual implementation of Obama Care, we see that his $900 billion claim is off by…$900 billion. When the Congressional Budget Office looked at the real ten year horizon of Obama Care, their estimate doubles to a staggering cost of $1.8 billion.

This is just one of the lies and deceptions that have been foisted on the American public, lies and deceit and deceptions that are causing Americans to lose access to doctors and plans, substantially raising the cost of their new health insurance, causing doctors to prematurely resign rather than deal with Obama Care, adding trillions to our national debt, and causing current Americans to possibly die because they while the can find insurance, they cannot find the right kind of insurance. 

But perhaps worst of all, it has hardened and disappointed many Americans because many of our so-called leaders in Washington, lied to us. There is no way around it. Lies, deceit, deception. And we now know to trust no one in the White House or in Congress because once you lie to us dozens of times, they have destroyed their credibility, their integrity, and their humanity. 

And a nation that cannot trust its leaders is a nation that cannot go forward in a united way to a better tomorrow since the tomorrow that is promised by Washington is likely to be different once tomorrow comes.

The Week The Obama Admiinistration Entered Lame Duck Status, Part 1: the Benghazi Coverup and Obama Care Deceptions

It is not often when you can pinpoint the exact time that a U.S. President becomes a lame duck. The evidence usually builds slowly over time until one day you realize that the approaching end of a term means that the ability of a President to champion, convince, cajole, and lead has ebbed away into the sunset of their term.

That may not be the case of the Obama Presidency. In a rapid succession of events, we may have just seen this administration lose its humanity, its humility, and its integrity in a very short time, and with it, thevery quick dawning of the Obama Presidency lame duck era. You cannot lead a country when all traces of humanity, humility, and integrity have left your administration.

The scandals of this Presidency had been percolating under the surface of the nation’s attention for some time. The mainstream press and the administration had done all it could to keep them under the surface.

However, that effort proved inadequate over the past week when any number of scandals erupted into the public space. And the amazing thing about the eruptions, they were not caused by Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, or other right wing/conservative news outlets. Most of the damage to the integrity and morals of this administration came from members of the mainstream press who had either been overly protective of this Presidency or overly blinded by this President’s charms and false integrity.

It started on a Sunday night in a CBS “60 Minutes” story which had culminated almost a year of investigative reporting. The main story line was that as the consulate attack at Benghazi was underway, members onsite at the consulate were in direct communication with the outside world, telling them that Al Qaeda terrorists were attacking and they needed immediate help and protection. 

Thus, during the attack, both at the actual consulate building and at the annex a mile away, we already knew that this was not a street demonstration that got out of hand. This was a highly coordinated, well thought out terrorist attack on American sovereignty and personnel. We also now know that this attack had already been predicted months in advance.

However, from a humanity perspective, those twenty plus Americans calling out for help in Benghazi were left to their own devices when someone, somewhere in the administration called off the military rescue parties that were geared up and ready to go. 
The heartless inaction of those decision makers resulted in a high ranking military leader to be yanked from leading the rescue mission and directly led to the deaths of four brave Americans, including the U.S. ambassador, Chris Stephens.

Despite knowing months in advance that the consulate and Americans would likely be a target of terrorists, that the Red Cross and British consulate had already been attacked by terrorists, that there had been security warnings from many security experts including British personnel, U.S. armed forces, and local Libyans contacts, and despite the fact that the ambassador had already told Washington that the Al Qaeda flag could been clearly seen flying over Libyan government buildings, nothing was done ahead of time to prevent the attack.

But the real lack of humanity and integrity comes after the attack. Jay Carney insists at a press briefing that there were no forewarnings that an attack was imminent. 

Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., goes on  five Sunday television news to insist that the attack was not from Al Qaeda and was not pre planned, that it was a spontaneous eruption of emotions from a YouTube video. 

President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton repeat the same lie and deception at the U.N. and elsewhere, despite the fact that the ambassador made the outgoing call DURING the attack that it was a planned terrorist attack, not a YouTube video reaction.

Four Americans die, another twenty or so were intentionally left in mortal danger and Hillary Clinton testifies in front of Congress, “What difference does it make?” Heartless, callow, and lacking of humanity, humility, and integrity. 

Outright lies and deceptions to promote the President’s reelection and protect his campaign position/boast that Al Qaeda was on the run and no longer a factor in the world. For that protection and the deceptions attached to it, four Americans unnecessarily died.

But the Benghazi scandal and death was just one of the exploding disgraces this week. NBC News, another mainstream media outlet that has been overly soft on the administration, released a very embarrassing investigative report relative to Obama Care. The NBC report maintains that the White House, the President, and others involved in pushing through the Obama Care legislation were well aware for the past several years that millions of Americans were likely to lose their current health insurance policy and coverages as a result of Obama Care. 

How do we know this? NBC News senior investigative correspondent Lisa Myers found buried in the 2010 Obamacare regulation language predicting, “A reasonable range for the percentage of individual policies that would terminate is forty percent to sixty-seven percent.”

  Why is this such a big deal? Well, from an integrity perspective, the President had been claiming numerous times over those years that NO American would lose their current insurance policy or access to their favorite doctors as a result of Obama Care:

“If you got health insurance, it does not mean a government take over, you keep your own insurance, you keep your own doctor.”

“If you like your [health insurance plan], you can keep your plan.”

“Here is a guarantee that I make. If you have insurance that you like, then you will be able to keep that insurance. If you have a doctor that you like, you will be able to keep your doctor.  Nobody is trying to change what works in the system.’

“If you like your plan and you like your doctor, you will not have to do a thing…we are not going to mess with it.”

But this was all a charade, according to NBC News. Those in the White House knew three years ago that millions of Americans (45% to 67%) were going to lose their access to their current plans and their favorite doctors but said nothing about that reality. Instead, the President keep coming forward in different venues with the same message: You will not lose access to the insurance plans and doctors that you want access to.

But millions of Americans will lose access. If you adhere to the definition of integrity that integrity it is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, than this escapade of the Obama administration could not be further from the reality of this definition.

Not only is there a gross lack of integrity on this issue and scandal but there is no humility or humanity either. From a humility perspective, the President is not coming forward to apologize for the deception or misspeaking, no one on his staff or in his press corps are owning up to the lie and deception. They could have at least apologized for the deception and asked for some sort of forgiveness going forward but no, humility is apparently non-existent in this administration.

And neither is a sense of humanity. If the Washington politicians and administration bureaucrats knew of this impending and dire situation years ago, any of them with a sense of humanity or compassion should have come forward then and told the American people that this catastrophe was coming and to make plans. Given a few years warning, most people could have adapted to the disaster of losing their insurance policy and doctors. 

But nothing was said to cushion the blow until just months before millions of Americans were to lose their current, favored insurance policies and doctor access. And if NBC had not done their investigative job, those months might have turned into just weeks for Americans to scramble for new coverage and new doctor access.

And the sad thing, these are not the only two issues that exploded this week and put this administration’s lack of humanity, humility and integrity on full, naked display. We will cover them tomorrow.

If you lose all sense of humanity, humility, and integrity, you cannot lead, you cannot rule. No one will ever believe anything you say. If you make up stories and deceptions to cover up American deaths to protect your reelection campaign, how can we ever trust you on any issue going forward? If you constantly tell us one thing when you know the exact opposite is the reality, how can we ever believe you an any issue going forward? 

And that is the real definition of a lame duck: a leader that cannot lead. A leader that does not tell the truth. A leader that has no sense of humility or compassion. A leader that puts himself before humanity. It is going to be a long three years.
