September, 2017, Part 1, I Am A Global Warming Doubter and A Believer In Science: Messing With The Data, Celebrities' Inane Climate Opinions and More

Every month we have enough material to return to a continuing theme in this blog, namely that “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.” This became of interest because of people like Al Gore who fanatically and verbosely claimed that you had to be an idiot to not believe in manmade global warming. It has been my life belief that anyone that is that loud and that obnoxious is hiding something, that rather than argue facts and reality it is better to beat down and insult anyone who disagrees.

As we have dove into the whole issue of manmade global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:

• Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
• Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
• Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control of our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.

Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaims.

1) For real science to have any basis for credibility and believability, the underlying raw data that scientific research and conclusions are based on must be pure and unadulterated. Global warming advocates over the years, as we have pointed out, have often been caught manipulating underlying raw data to better attain their predetermined conclusions they wanted the raw data to show. This is not science, this hokum.

Well, according to John Nolte, writing for the Daily Wire website on August 1, 2017, this data manipulation has not stopped by certain global warming advocates:

• Nolte cites work done by the Daily Caller website which found that for the second time in just three years the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) in Australia has been caught tampering with raw climate temperatures.
• According to experts familiar with the data manipulation, the changed raw data changed a "slight cooling trend to one of 'dramatic warming' over the past century."
• When, in 2014, the BOM stated that there was nothing shady about the action to "modify the physical temperature records that had been recorded at weather stations across the country,” Dr. Jennifer Marohasy, said the changed raw data led to a “dramatic change in temperature trend towards warming after homogenisation.” [Note - homogenisation = correcting for so-called anomalies in raw data, which is impossible since raw data is raw data, it was what was recorded and thus, does not need to be adjusted after the fact.]
• The latest data manipulation scandal includes the BOM admitting that incorrect data was used instead of the raw data that was initially recorded but the BOM blamed faulty equipment and that was the reason they changed the raw data.
• However, it appears that the only raw data “adjusted” was temperatures that were to cold to fit the pre-conceived theory of global warming.
• For instance, the article cites one temperature data point that was recorded as 5.54 degrees but was changed to 13 degrees in the final data set, not a minor adjustment.
• Apparently, none of the warmer temperature's records were reduced to cooler temps as a result of “faulty equipment.”

Just another example where certain global warming advocates have put theories, and often government grants, ahead of solid science.

2) Sam Di Gangi, writing for the Teddy Stick website on July 26, 2017, pulled together a bunch of global warming information from various sources to show, using real, unadjusted data, that global warming is likely a myth:

• He cites a recent Gateway Pundit article that contained recent NASA data relative to the height of the Earth’s oceans.
• The NASA data actually shows that if anything, sea levels are actually falling, not rising as predicted by people like Al Gore:

• The Iceagenow website concluded from this real government data that, “NASA satellite sea level observations for the past 24 years show that – on average – sea levels have been rising 3.4 millimeters per year. That’s 0.134 inches, about the thickness of a dime and a nickel stacked together, per year.” but that sea levels actually fell in 2016, something not predicted by global warming advocates.
• Consider the opinion of Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Morner: “The sea is not rising... It hasn’t risen in 50 years when studied in the fullness of the data available….It has been popular to threaten small islands and low-lying coasts with scenarios of disastrous future flooding. The Maldives has been the most utilised target. We have undertaken a careful analysis of actual sea levels changes in the Maldives. No rise has been recorded either in the present or the past centuries.”
• He goes on to state that, “for 35 years [he and others have] have been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe.” and that “the elementary laws of physics” work to tell us that “the apocalypse conjured up by Al Gore and Co. could not possibly come about.”

Is Nils-Axel Morner smarter than Al Gore’s scientists? Possibly not. But shouldn’t Morner get a seat at the table when adults decide what is really going on with climate as opposed to just listening to and trusting a former politician with no formal scientific research training?

3) If there is anything worse than scientists manipulating raw data, it is Hollywood celebrities thinking that 1) they are scientists and 2) that they are smarter than everyone else. Consider the climate hysteria and idiocy of some celebrities in the light of recent hurricanes (keeping in mind that there has not been a major hurricane to hit Florida since 2014 despite Al Gore-like claims that hurricanes would become more frequent and more intense):

• Actress Jennifer Lawrence has figured out that Hurricane Harvey and Irma were a result of Mother Nature’s wrath for electing Trump as President.
• Then that brilliant scientist, who masquerades as a documentary filmmaker, Michael Moore, criticized Trump for not using his Mar-A-Lago country club as a disaster relief center, ignoring the simple reality that the country club is on a barrier island with water on all sides of it and sits in a mandatory evacuation zone, a simple fact check that Mr. Moore apparently did not make.
• Comedian and part time scientist Sarah Silverman cited six states (Florida, Texas, Washington, Montana, California, Oregon) that were undergoing natural disasters, hurricanes, wildfires, etc., and concluded from these six states that all Republicans “don’t believe in science,” but somehow forgot to check that four of the six states she cited currently have Democrats as governors (Washington, Montana, California, Oregon).

Tough to tell which is worse: failed forecasts from global warming advocates, scandalously changing raw data to serve a pre-determined scientific finding, or celebrities who are clueless. None of them contribute to an adult, mature, through discussion of the Earth’s climate and mankind’s interaction with it.

November,2016, Part 7,The Unfolding Disaster That Is Obama Care: Democrats Bash Obama Care, Competiton Down, Costs Up

Every month for years now we have had to discuss how bad Obama Care is turning out to be under the continuing theme, “the unfolding disaster that is Obama Care.” This month is no different. As the legislation continues to march through America, driving up health care and health insurance prices as it serves as dead weight on economic growth, it cements its rightful place as the worst piece of legislation Washington has ever produced.

It never had a chance to be successful since it really never addressed the underlying root causes of our ever increasing health costs in the country:

• Americans eat too much of the wrong kind of food, resulting in obscenely high obesity rates for the country.
• Our food chain is infested with overdoses of high fructose corn syrup, salt, and other unhealthy additives.
• Americans smoke too much.
• Americans do not exercise enough.
• The country is in serious need of health care tort reform.
• Barriers to insurance company competition across state lines need to come down.
• Obama Care never “followed the money” to find out who is actually profiting from the ever escalating healthcare costs in this country and how to get those factors under control.
• Obama Care never got the immense amount of fraud and abuse in current government healthcare programs, Medicare and Medicaid, under control in order to save money to efficiently fund other government health care initiatives.
• Obama Care never put serious research money towards curing the major diseases that drive high healthcare costs such as high frequency cancers and dementia type diseases.

You cannot resolve any problem unless you understand and address the underlying root causes. No difference here: Obama Care legislation never addressed these listed root causes and thus, has no chance of ever being successful.

But it is not just missing the root causes of our healthcare costs that makes Obama Care so horrible. It resulted in millions of Americans losing access to their favored doctors, hospitals, and insurance policies. It has caused insurance premiums, deductibles and co-pays to escalate substantially. It will likely add trillions of dollars to the national debt. It has exposed millions of Americans to higher than necessary identity theft chances. It has created government bureaucracies that are wastefully spending taxpayer wealth and being exploited by criminal elements. It has stifled economic growth and job creation.

These are just a sample of the types of idiocy that we have been reviewing for the past several years in this blog relative to Obama Care., To read those past posts, just enter the phrase, “the unfolding disaster,” in the search box above.

This week we will be reviewing the latest unfolding disasters from the worst piece of legislation ever written by Washington:

1) We have often pointed out that Obama promised that Obama Care would “bend the cost curve" of health care spending in this country, i.e. it would start to reverse the trend of ever increasing healthcare spending in this country. We have often pointed out how poorly this prediction worked out with premium and deductible levels on insurance policies, especially Obama Care policies, going higher and higher. 

But it is not just Obama Care policy costs that are increasing at alarmingly high rates. Consider a recent post by Sharyl Attkisson on the Twitchy website. She had been sent a letter from an American living in Georgia who had just been notified that their current, non-Obama Care health insurance policy would not be offered and available after December 31, 2016. The insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, offered to put the person on a new plan that would be available to him in 2016, a so-called bronze plan.

Here’s the problem though. The customer’s old plan cost him $711.83 a month to keep in effect. The replacement plan, one that is assumed to be comparable, will cost him a whopping $1,872.18 a month, an over $1,100 increase per MONTH in 2017. Thus, not only is Obama Care causing Obama Care insurance policy premiums to skyrocket, it has done nothing, at least in this one case, to prevent non-Obama Care policy costs from going through the roof. 

So much for Obama Care reducing Americans’ annual healthcare insurance costs by up to $2,500 a year. This poor person’s insurance costs are going up by $1,100 a month rather than going down up to $2,500 a year. Missed it by that much. Another Obama Care promise by Obama bites the dust.

2) Robert Moffit, writing for the Heritage Foundation on November 4, 2016, outlined a bunch of other facts about the implosion of Obama Care in his article, "Obama Care Revealed as Masterpiece of Government’s Failed Central Planning:”

• Mr. Moffit correctly sums up how we got to where we are today with Obama Care: “Liberals in Congress meticulously designed the Affordable Care Act’s insurance exchanges as powerful regulatory bodies. They defined the kinds of insurance plans, benefits, and medical treatments and procedures the plans must offer; set all of the insurance rules; determined the permissible premium and deductible levels; and organized the most complex and confusing premium subsidy program imaginable. So, federal government control was, and is, comprehensive. They planned it all.”
• And what did this overreaching government intrusion into our lives get us: “Americans have less consumer choice, less market competition, exploding insurance premiums, ridiculous deductibles, fewer doctors, a narrowing of provider networks—no, you can’t necessarily “keep” your doctor—and the looming prospect of ever bigger burdens on taxpayers.”
• In 2016, the Congressional Budget Office projected that 21 million Americans would get coverage via an Obama Care insurance policy: only 11 million signed up.
• The Obama administration is estimating that 13.8 million will sign up in 2017 but that would still more than 30% short of what was supposed to happen in 2016 and given the unpopularity of the whole process, that 13.8 million is likely very and overly optimistic.
• As we have pointed out many times before, it is not only the ever increasing premiums costs of Obama Care that are a burden but also the ever increasing deductible costs that mean while many more Americans have health insurance, they cannot afford to make use of it because of high deductibles: the average deductible for an Obama Care silver policy is $3,572 for a single person and $7,474 for a family while a bronze Obama Care customer faces a whopping $6,000 deductible for a single person and a $12,393 deductible for a family on average.
• And although about third quarters of Obama Care policy holders get a taxpayer subsidy to pay for their insurance, 40% of them are dissatisfied with the size of their premiums and 46% are dissatisfied with the size of their deductibles according to research done by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
• In 2017, 15 new insurance companies will start offering Obama Care policies but 83 insurers will be stopping their offerings of Obama Care policies.
• In 2017, it looks like about one in three counties (32.8%) across the country will have only one Obama Care insurer to choose from while another third or so (35.9%) will have only two insurers to choose from, totally killing the Obama promise that Obama Care would lead to more competition.

Fewer plans, less competition, higher deductibles, higher premiums, higher dissatisfaction, oh yeah, this is working out just fine. 

3) One last review for today. The Heritage Foundation put together a short video of the seven times that Democrats correctly categorized Obama Care as a failure. Remember, not a single Republican voted for the Obama Care legislation since 1) they disagreed with it and 2) Obama and Pelosi in the House and Reid in the Senate made sure that the Republicans had no input to the legislation. This legislation is purely a Democratic Party creation so it is actually quite refreshing to hear their own bash it. That video can be accessed at:

You will hear Democrat Bill Clinton call Obama Care “the craziest thing in the world.” You will hear former Democratic U.S. Senator Max Baucus call it a “train wreck.” Diehard Democrat filmmaker Michael Moore called it “awful.” Democratic Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton who said that “the Affordable Care Act is no longer affordable." Oh, FYI, there will be 29 fewer Obama Care insurers in Minnesota next year.

But none of this should not be surprise to anyone if we venture back to another Democratic quote in the video, this one courtesy of then Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi: “We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.” A more stupid statement has never been uttered by any politician anywhere, at anytime. 

Which is why we are where we are today: the people that actually put this thing together had no clue what was in it. A clear dereliction of their Congressional duty, a dereliction that has resulted in the disaster nightmare we are living through today.

Unfortunately, there will be more Obama Care disasters tomorrow.

Grounds For Impeachment: Why Famous Liberals Say We Need To Seek Constitutional Relief From This Presidency

We have spent the last seven posts examining the major issue of whether or not President Obama has committed sufficient infractions of the law and violations of the Constitution and Bill of Rights to warrant impeachment. The first three posts in the series identified 61 failures of this presidency that were not sufficient grounds for impeachment and removal from office.

Those 61 reasons included wasteful government spending, lying and deceiving about a whole range of issues, ineffective government management, insults of ordinary Americans by the President’s political allies while he remained silent, and a whole host of other aggravating, stupid, and embarrassing actions and failures. But aggravating, stupid, deceptive. and embarrassing, no matter how irritating, are not grounds for impeachment.

However, over the next three posts we identified almost the same amount of actions and reasons that did warrant impeachment and removal from office for crimes, violations of the law, and attacks on the rights promised by the Constitution. These justifications for impeachment included violating the rights of ordinary Americans and Americans businesses and other entities, assassinating American citizens without due process, blatantly breaking existing laws when it suited this President politically, and a whole host of dozens of other reasons for impeachment.

To support our views that this is one of the most lawless and destruction Presidencies of all time, in the seventh post we published the observations, disgust, and consternations that three left leaning, liberal people in positions of power and notoriety have with regards to Obama’s outlandish and repulsive behavior. Since we wrote these seven posts, I came across another source of left leaning, liberal Americans who also fall in line with our reasoning that this President has both inflicted serious failures and hardships on America and has also committed impeachable and criminal offenses in light of present law. The fabulous Independent Journal Review is that source and they recently did a great job combing through public records to find out how ten famous liberals feel about this President and the serious infractions against the country that they also have observed:

1. MIT professor and left-wing gadfly Noam Chomsky.

Obama “is worse” [than George W. Bush and Tony Blair]… “In the case of Afghanistan, he sharply escalated the war… Obama’s carrying out a major war in Afghanistan, he’s directly involved in aggressive and criminal actions, carried out by Israel, for example. He’s been in office for two years, and he hasn’t invaded anyone yet [until Libya], but his record is quite consistent with what’s happened before.”

2. Pat Caddell, long-time Democratic strategist.

“I am appalled right now. This White House, this President, this Vice President, this Secretary of State, all of them, are willing, apparently, to dishonor themselves and this country for the cheap prospect of getting reelected — willing to cover-up and lie… And the outrage I feel for my country and the shame that these people have no honor. And when will people finally say it? Cover-up is too nice a word.”

3. Long-time Village Voice writer and Constitutional expert Nat Hentoff.

“Obama has little, if any, principles except to aggrandize and make himself more and more important. You see that in his foreign policy. Obama lacks a backbone — both a constitutional backbone and a personal backbone. This is a man who is causing us and will cause us a great deal of harm constitutionally and personally. This is the first administration that has scared me.”

4. Liberal Constitutional professor Jonathan Turley.

“The problem with what the president is doing is that he’s not simply posing a danger to the constitutional system. He’s becoming the very danger the Constitution was designed to avoid. That is the concentration of power in every single branch.” 

5. Multi-millionaire director and left-wing activist Michael Moore.

“I believe Obamacare’s rocky start — clueless planning, a lousy website, insurance companies raising rates, and the president’s telling people they could keep their coverage when, in fact, not all could — is a result of one fatal flaw: The Affordable Care Act is a pro-insurance-industry plan implemented by a president who knew in his heart that a single-payer, Medicare-for-all model was the true way to go. When right-wing critics ‘expose’ the fact that President Obama endorsed a single-payer system before 2004, they’re actually telling the truth.”

6. Chris Matthews, host of Hardball on MSNBC.

“What part of the presidency does Obama like? He doesn’t like dealing with other politicians — that means his own cabinet, that means members of the congress, either party. He doesn’t particularly like the press…. He likes to write the speeches… He likes going on the road, campaigning, visiting businesses like he does every couple days somewhere in Ohio or somewhere… He doesn’t like giving orders or giving somebody the power to give orders. He doesn’t seem to like being an executive.”

7. Medea Benjamin of the anti-war group Code Pink.

“I love my country. I love the rule of law! Abide by the rule of law. You’re a constitutional lawyer!”

8. Glenn Greenwald, Guardian reporter who broke the NSA-Snowden leaks story.

“At this point, I didn’t believe it was possible, but the Obama administration has just reached an all-new low in its abysmal civil liberties record… Obama’s now asserting a power so radical — the right to kill American citizens and do so in total secrecy, beyond even the reach of the courts — that it’s ‘too harsh even for’ one of the most far-right War on Terror cheerleading-lawyers in the nation. But that power is certainly not ‘too harsh’ for the kind-hearted Constitutional Scholar we elected as President, nor for his hordes of all-justifying supporters…”

9. Jeff Cohen, former MSNBC producer and media critic.

“I was a young person when I first heard the quip: ‘How do you know when the President is lying? His lips are moving.’ At the time, President Nixon was expanding the war in Vietnam to other countries and deploying the White House ‘plumbers’ to commit crimes against antiwar leakers. Forty years have passed. Sadly, these days, often when I see President Obama moving his lips, I assume he’s lying.”

10. Matt Damon, actor, producer, and director.

“I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician. You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better.”

There you have it, ten, dyed in the wool liberal thinkers, supporters, and voters. These are people who obviously have taken a long look at this President and reached the same conclusions we have reached over the past week: there are dozens and dozens of examples of failures of this Presidency that do not warrant impeachment and removal from office, no matter how embarrassing or repugnant.

But far more importantly, there are dozens and dozens of reasons why this President needs to be removed from office, the balance of power in government restored, as laid out by the Constitution, and our liberty and freedom refreshed in light of the stink and horror of the past five years.
