We have often talked about the concept of “global warming” and its reincarnated marketing effort, “climate change.” We discussed the reality that back in the 1970s, climate scientists, and politicians, were screaming and glooming and dooming about the coming Ice Age.
Then when the new Ice Age did not materialize, they started screaming about global warming in the 1980s, a 180 degree turnaround in less than a decade. When the ice caps did not melt as they predicted, when the temperatures did not rise like they predicted, when many of them were caught fudging data to falsely conclude their forecasts were right, they rebranded global warming as “climate change.”
This was a smart marketing move because they could not be wrong, like they had been for several decades:
If temperatures rose, they could say they were right, it is climate change.
If temperatures dropped, they could say they were right, it is climate change.
But rebranding does not make them right. The sin about this whole debacle is that no one knows what is going on and no one trusts anyone who has an opinion about the climate. Forecasts have been wrong, hysteria has been overblown, data has been bastardized, it is a mess. The reality is as follows though:

But those in the media and many liberal politicians continue to insist they got it right this time, that the earth is warming and that people need to take a substantial cut in their quality of life to prevent disaster. Never mind that these same people have never gotten a forecast or prediction right, this time they are sure they are on the side of good.
Many of these folks are claiming that the world has never been hotter than it was in 2023. This is, of course, not true, the earth has been warmer throughout its long history. But you would never know that if you just listened to what the climate change folks are telling you, 2023, was unbelievably hot. But rather than just blindly listen to the failed prognosticators and their failed prediction history, consider some real temperature reality from 2023 (Note: the following statistics and realities come from author, David Craig, author of the book, "There Is No Climate Crisis"):
Before going any further, keep in mind that United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, recently proclaimed that: “The era of global warming has ended; the era of global boiling has arrived.”
But Tongulakh, Siberia recorded its lowest temperature ever, hitting an astonishing -62.4 C below zero on January 14th, 2023, the coldest temperature recorded on earth that day.
On February 4, 2023, Halifax airport in Nova Scotia saw its coldest wind chill temperatures ever recorded, -43 C below zero.
This broke its then current record of -41 C below zero that was set 56 years ago.
On February, 19, 2023, the temperature at Shepherd Bay, Nunavut in Canada hit -49.6 C below zero, or -57.3 degree Fahrenheit.
On March 7, 2023, the United Kingdom suffered through -15 C with the temperature in Kinebrace, Scotland hitting -15.2 C, giving the area its coldest month of March since 2010.
In February, 2023 the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire reported a wind chill reading of -108 Fahrenheit, the coldest temperature EVER recorded in the United States.
Around the same time, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Caribou, Maine, reported instances of “frostquakes” which are “Just like earthquakes, [they] generate tremors, thundering sensations. These are caused by sudden cracks in frozen soil or underground water when it’s very cold.”
In Boston, school officials closed schools when temperatures got to -10 Fahrenheit, easily breaking the city’s record set over 100 years ago.
In Providence, Rhode Island, the temperature hit - 2 Fahrenheit, breaking the existing record that was set in 1918.
The same weather that set these low temperature records in Boston and Providence also set records in Albany, New York, August, Maine, Rochester, New York and Worcester, Massachusetts.
In June, Sydney, Australia set its record for cold when it had a temperature of 1.8 C.
At the same time, over 100 weather stations in Australia registered their coldest temperatures on record.
On June 1, 2023, Finland saw a temperature of -7.7 C, a very cold temperature for summertime anywhere.
This broke Finland's previous record low of -7 C set back in 1962.
Antarctica set an early winter record low temperature of -76.4 C with other temps during this time often below -70 C.
During the summer months in the southern hemisphere, Arctic air came by and shattered any number of South America low temperatures records.
On February 18, 2023, multiple cities in Paraguay saw a sharp drop in temperatures which broke existing records
On the same day 30 cities in Argentina had record low temperatures.
Hard to take Antonio Guterres’s comment about global broiling seriously when it is 50 degrees below zero or so. But climate change people, politicians, and the mainstream media seems to have not gotten the word about these record low temperatures. And even if they were aware of them, they cannot accept them or they would again be shown to be wrong.
And it would derail their plans to take control over our lives, dictating what type of cars we drive, making us pay more for food and utilities, and feeding their ego and selfish desire to dictate to others. Keep in mind two realities:
Reality Number 1 - even if humanity is causing worldwide broiling temperatures, do you really think that the inept people in Washington, the Federal government, and the American political class can adjust Mother Nature? These people cannot even run an effective and efficient “do not call” list, given how many unwanted calls I still get every week even though all of my phone numbers have been on the do not call list for years. These people cannot operate any government program efficiently and effectively, to really think that all of a sudden they can beat Mother Nature is ridiculous.
Reality Number 2 - Even if Washington decides to embark on a radical and doomed climate change path, India, China, and other major economies around the world will not follow their lead. They will continue to behave as they are now, keeping their economies running efficiently and improving the quality of life of their citizens. In the meantime, we will be experiencing regular utility blackouts, paying much more for transportation and every other life expense. As a result, our lives are worse off and the climate condition is basically unchanged.
Climate change is a rallying point for politicians around the world to take control of our lives, our wealth, our personal choices, and our freedom. To think otherwise is to ignore real data that is contrary to their view and blindly accept that even though these people have been absolutely wrong in their predictions for fifty years or so, somehow they are right now. Highly unlikely.
So the next time you receive an unwanted call for car warranties, mortgages, or other offers even though you are on the “do not call” list that Washington politicians administer, remember these are the same inept folks that think they can control Mother Nature. Given their incompetence in everything they touch, they probably cannot control their mother-in-laws, never mind controlling Mother Nature.
