In our last post we discussed some major lies and myths that politicians and government politicians have dumped on Americans over the past couple of decades in areas of government health insurance, covid, global warming, and Tylenol. In the process of researching those lies I came across a very interesting article on the Net, "Doomsday Addiction: Celebrating 50 Years of Failed Climate Predictions.” The writer Chris Bennett, did a great job of tracking down the failed predictions and/or climate lies of politicians and other liberals over the past five decades.

Highlights of his research and article are summarized below:
1)Paul Erlich, Author, Part 1, author of the "Population Bomb” - 1968 - The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. At this late date nothing can prevent a substantial increase in the world death rate…”
2)Paul Erlich, Part 2 - 1968 - “We must realize that unless we are extremely lucky, everybody will disappear in a cloud of blue steam in 20 years.”
3)Paul Erlich, Part 3 - 1970 - “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”
4)George Wald, Nobel Prize Winner - 1970 - “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
5)Kenneth Watt - 1970 - “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but 11 degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
6)James Lodge, Researcher - 1970 - “Air pollution may obliterate the sun and cause a new ice age in the first third of the next century if population continues to grow and earth’s resources are consumed at the present rate…”
7)The Guardian - 1974 - “Spy Satellites Show New Ice Age is Coming Fast.”
8)Newsweek - 1975 - “The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the Earth’s climate seems to be cooling down. Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic.”
8)New York Times, 1978 - “An international team of specialists has concluded from eight indexes of climate that there is no end in sight to the cooling trend of the last 30 years, at least in the Northern Hemisphere.”
Uh, never mind, forget global cooling, only one year later global warming became all the trend:
9)New York Times - 1979 - “Climatologists Are Warned North Pole Might Melt. There is a real possibility that some people now in their infancy will live to a time when the ice at the North Pole will have melted, a change that would cause swift and perhaps catastrophic changes in climate.”
10)Mostafa Tolba, executive director of the UN’s Environmental Program - 1980 - “An environmental catastrophe which will witness devastation as complete, as irreversible as any nuclear holocaust.”
11)Associated Press - 1989 - “A senior UN environmental official (Noel Brown) says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.”
12)Al Gore - 2006 - If drastic measures were not taken in 2006 then by 2016, ten years later, the planet would experience an irreversible “point of no return.”
13)Laurent Fabius, French foreign minister - 2014 - “We have 500 days to avoid climate chaos.”
14)Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Congresswoman with a business degree and absolutely no expertise on climate issues - 2019 - “Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it? And, like, this is the war—this is our World War ll.”
This is a short sample of what is in the article referenced above. But all of it can summarized as follows:
The world will end because of global cooling, the world will end because of global warming, hundreds of millions of people will starve to death every year, we will all die in a puff of blue steam, entire nations will be flooded into extinction by 2000, the North Pole is expanding, the North Pole will melt, crops will not grow because of cooling, crops will not grow because of warming.
After while, after the global cooling falsehoods, the global warming falsehoods, the global famine falsehoods, the covid falsehoods, the Tylenol falsehoods, the government health insurance falsehoods, the Kennedy assassination coverups, the Biden dementia coverups, one cannot help but get a little skeptical about what anyone in the political class and government agencies, along with their so-called experts, have to say. Their track record of honesty and accuracy speaks for itself: it stinks.
