Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)We have often, and sadly, referred to the actions and attitudes of American politicians who care more about illegal immigrants than they do about American citizens in need. Millions of Americans are homeless, hungry, in need of drug addiction treatment or need medical help. Rather than focusing on helping these Americans in need, our politicians easily spend billions of our tax dollars to feed, clothe, shelter, and medically treat illegal immigrants.
And they recently reinforced this view and reality:
A proposed law called the Protect Our Communities From DUIs act “would Change the Immigration and Nationality Act to make it easier to deport illegal immigrants “who have been convicted of or who have committed an offense for driving while intoxicated or impaired” by drugs or alcohol “are inadmissible and deportable.”
Seems reasonable, these folks are here in this country illegally and when they break our laws or cause harm or death to American citizens it is not unreasonable to have them deported.
And yet 150 Democrats in the House of Representatives voted against the proposed law, a law that would protect American citizens from DUI actions of those folks should not be here in the first place.
Now, to their credit, 59 Democrats in the House voted to protect Americans by supporting the proposed law.
Congressman Barry Moore, a major supporter of the bill, pointed out just one example of how many Americans have lost their lives to the DUI actions of an illegal immigrant.
Angel and Jeremy Seay were killed by a drunk driver who was an illegal immigrant: “Angel and Jeremy were riding their motorcycle together when an illegal immigrant under the influence of alcohol collided into them with his pickup. Their lives were cut dramatically short. Sadly, tragedies like this are not uncommon across our country.”
Democrat Rashida Tlaib voted against this law to protect Americans, saying that it was “dehumanizing our immigrant neighbors,” in other words, it is better to kill American citizens than to dehumanize illegal immigrants.
Certainly a good move by most members of Congress since a very basic tenet of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of their constituents. And yet, politicians like Tlaib still do not get this basic tenet and Americans are dying because of this dismissive attitude.
2)We have often pointed out how Joe Biden quite often tosses out remarks that most liberal would call racist if done by a non-liberal or non-Democrat. But given that Biden is both a liberal and and a Democrat he gets a free pass to issue racist comments.

But he continues to issue racist comments, especially as it pertains to the belittling and demeaning and belittling term “boy”:
When meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister shortly after Japanese golfer, Hideki Matsuyama, won the Masters golf tournament, Biden told the Prime Minister: “And you've got a Japanese boy coming over here, and guess what, he won the Masters”
Cedric Richmiond is a black, former Congressman from Lousiaian and now works for FEMA and at a FEMA gathering Biden stated: "I'm here with my senior adviser and boy who knows Louisiana very, very well and New Orleans, Cedric Richmond."
And more recently, at a gathering to celebrate a Muslim holiday, instead of respecting the sanctity of the celebration, he stood in front of the gathering and told someone who was talking to “Hush up, boy.”
“Boy” is a derogatory term when aimed at any adult, be it a Japanese golfer, a former Congressman, or someone attending a Muslim celebration. It is rude, crude, and not what a President of the United States should be engaged in.
3)It often seems that American politicians view themselves as different, better, and exempt from the very laws they pass for others, living by the old creed, “do as I say, not as I do.” Their hypocrisy often knows no bounds.
And this hypocrisy recently came shining through out in the state of California and its governor, Gavin Newsom:
Before going any further, remember that Newsom basically shut down the state during covid, severely restricting the interaction among California citizens by imposing mask, distancing, and other stringent restrictions on interactions among people.
And while he cracked down on ordinary citizens, he was caught having dinner with many of his friends at a famous restaurant and none of them had on masks or were social distancing, actions he required of others.
Now more recently, the state government recently passed legislation that set the minimum wage for restaurant workers at $20 an hour, a stupid economic decision that we will discuss in a future post.
And while the law was supposed to apply to ALL restaurant workers, Newsom decided to give an exemption to the law to a person who operates 24 Panera bread restaurants in the state of California, saying that these 24 restaurants would be allowed to only pay $16 an hour to its employees.
Billionaire Greg Flynn owns those restaurants that Newsom is giving an exemption to.
Which is interesting since Flynn has been a heavy political donor to Newsom’s political career and election campaigns.
Imagine that, what a coincidence, it just so happens that Newsom gives a legal break/exemption to someone who gave him over $150,000 in campaign donations.
Does Newsom think that he is so smart that he can do this patronage garbage and that he can pull a fast one? Does he think that we are too dumb or distracted to notice his hypocrisy? Or does he not care what we think and that his hypocrisy does not matter as long as he takes care of his political backers?
Whatever, his arrogance and political corruption is disgusting.
4)Staying with Newsom’s California, we have often made the case that a major American city will quite shortly declare bankruptcy. These cities’ politicians have never figured out how to efficiently and effectively operate a city government nad as a result businesses and residents are fleeing these cities for a variety of common reasons:
High taxes.
High government regulation of businesses.
High crime rates including massive retail shoplifting and violent crimes.
High homelessness rates.
High drug addiction rates.
High cost of living.
A prime candidate to being close to declaring bankruptcy is San Francisco, a city that Newsom was once the mayor of. Post covid, many workers never came back to their downtown Sam Francosco offices, preferring to continue to work remotely. This caused hardships on city businesses which in turn either drove businesses into bankruptcy or out of the city.
These businesses included, but are not limited to, Target department store, Nordstrom department, AT&T, Saks, Adidas, Old Navy, and dozens of others. Now we can add Macy's to this closure list, which recently announced it would be shutting down its San Francisco store sometime in 2025. This will lead to dozens and dozens of retail employees losing their jobs, reducing the tax stream for both city and the state, and city bankruptcy continues to become a stronger and stronger possibility.
So while San Francisco continues to figuratively burn, Newsom continues to be nothing more than a cheap politician that gives out political favors to the rich folks that financially support his election campaigns. Meanwhile, Biden continues his racist “boy” rhetoric in Washington and many in Congress would rather avoid hurting the feelings of illegal immigrants than saving the lives of American citizens. The political class insanity rolls on.
