July, 2019, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: A Snowflake Congresswoman Has Hurt Feelings, LA Humanitarians Call On Trump For Help and More

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) Readers of this blog know that we do not hold our Washington politicians in high esteem. In fact, we find the vast majority of them useless. Our public schools generally under educate our kids, our roads, dams, and bridges are falling apart, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are heading for bankruptcy, etc. and Washington politicians never seem to have the ability, the smarts, the will, or the courage to resolve any major issue facing the country.

In fact, this lunacy is what is top of mind for current Congresswoman, Frederica Wilson: “Those people who are online making fun of members of Congress are a disgrace. We’re gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted. You cannot intimidate members of Congress, frighten members of Congress. It is against the law, and it’s a shame in this United States of America.”

Yes, Congresswoman, let's discard the First Amendment because you got your feelings hurt. Really? Where is it against the law to make fun of a politician? If you and other members of Congress ever resolved an issue, stopped wasting taxpayer money, or showed any compassion for Americans, maybe we would not make fun of you. Until then, shut up until you and your peers accomplish something of consequence and finally earn your cushy jobs, high salaries, and many benefits.

2) We have previously covered the disasters that Democratic politicians have turned their west coast cities into. From Seattle to Portland to San Francisco to Los Angeles, the Democrats that have controlled the city governments in these cities for decades are now faced with major homelessness, drug addiction, and sanitary issues on the streets of their cities. In the LA metro area alone there are almost 60,000 homeless Americans. In San Francisco, there are almost 30,000 homeless Americans.

Finally disgusted with their local politciians’inaiblity to fix this discouraging situation, homeless activists, in desperation, are turning to, gasp, a Republican President to help them help Americans, something their local, Democratic politicians have failed to do. Activist Alexandria Datig asked the President to get involved to help people like her to help the LA homeless population:

“Message to the President of the United States. Donald J. Trump. Urgent Call for Federal Intervention. Due to the state of emergency caused by homelessness in Los Angeles California. My name is Alexandra Datig and I am calling on the President of the United States to intervene in Los Angeles due to the state of emergency created by its homeless crisis.

In the county of Los Angeles, we have more than 59,000 people homeless. We have more than 36,300 people homeless in the city of Los Angeles, and we have more than 16,000 people living in his or her cars. We have more than 3,000 homeless veterans. Veteran homelessness was supposed to be ended by the year 2015 according to our mayor.

This has not happened.

We have had a 75% increase in homelessness in the past six years under the leadership of our mayor, Eric Garcetti. Our leaders, here in this city, have lost heart and cannot deal with the crisis at hand. Our police officers are getting sick; our social workers are getting sick. Our sanitation workers are being treated terribly. Trash problems are everywhere. We are having serious environmental crimes happening, every day, several times a day, where 59,000 people in the county of Los Angeles are dumping raw sewage into our storm drains, entering our waterways.

These are serious, serious environmental crimes. We have homeless youth; we have had, in the past five years, to 2018, more than 3,600 people die on the streets of Los Angeles. These people, who are living on the street, some of them, are sentenced to death by homelessness. This situation is completely unacceptable and we need a federal intervention immediately. We need FEMA; we need the Red Cross; we need the CDC and the Environmental Protection Agency.

We need immediate assistance. This is urgent. Immediate assistance is needed. Now. Today. No delay. Please, President Trump, we are calling on you: Help our city. Our citizens are dying; they will continue to die.”

Ms. Datig actually headed up a drive to have the LA mayor recalled that is how frustrated this activist has become: "We don't want any more excuses from this mayor. We want him to step down. We want him gone and we want leadership that is going to take care of this city. This city has become a death camp for the homeless."

Oh, and by the way, as reported by a local TV station, WRAL: “Figures released earlier this month showed a 16% jump in Los Angeles' homeless population over the last year, pegging it at 36,300 — the size of a small city. That's no surprise to anyone who lives or works downtown, where tents crowd sidewalks within sight of City Hall and the stench of urine fills the air.”

So the problem is really really bad and getting worse. And local politicians have no clue on how to fix it or at least mitigate the problem.Things are so bad that a dedicated citizen is calling for a Federal intervention.

Maybe if Washington politicians, e.g. Frederica Wilson, would stop complaining about being called names and being made fun of they actually could, for once, do something for Americans in need, in this case, in Los Angeles.

3) Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, accompanied her father to the recent G-20 summit in Japan. She served in a formal government capacity, meeting with the leaders of other governments and heading a U.S.delegation that was involved with women’s economic empowerment.

Well, this did not sit well with the Congressional gaffe machine from New York City, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who tweeted: “It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification. It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on. The US needs our President working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.”

Certainly her opinion and in fact, she may be right...for the first time ever. But I wonder if she would have been as upset and vocal when Obama named his wife, Michelle Obama, to head up the Federal school lunch programs in the fight against childhood obesity, a position she had NO experience, education, or training in. I doubt that would have irked the good Congresswoman.

I also wonder, but doubt, if Ocasio-Cortez would have been upset when during the Obama administration lucrative, high profile ambassadorships were doled out not to experienced State Department veterans but to those people who raised the most money for Obama’s election campaigns:

  • Kirk W.B. Wagar. Founder and managing partner of Wagar Law firm. Confirmed to Singapore, raised at least $1.2 million for Obama
  • Matthew Winthrop Barzun, National Finance Chair for Obama's 2012 campaign. Confirmed to United Kingdom, raised at least $1.2 million for Obama
  • Mark D. Gilbert, Director at financial services firm Barclays. Nominated to New Zealand and Samoa, raised at least $1.2 million for Obama
  • Michael Anderson Lawson, Former president of Los Angeles World Airports’ Board of Airport Commissioners/ Nominated to UN Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization, raised at least $950,000 for Obama
  • Timothy M. Broas, Attorney at Winston & Strawn LLP. Nominated to Netherlands, raised at least $945,100 for Obama
  • Crystal Nix-Hines. Lawyer at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges. Nominated to UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, raised at least $872,500 for Obama
  • Suzi LeVine, Former Microsoft executive. Nominated to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, raised at least $800,000 for Obama
  • John B. Emerson, Executive at investment firm Capital Group Companies. Confirmed to Germany, raised at least $775,000 for Obama
  • Denise Campbell Bauer, 2012 finance chair for Women for Obama. Confirmed to Belgium, raised at least $753,500 for Obama
  • Bruce A. Heyman, Executive at Goldman Sachs & Co. Nominated to Canada, raised at least $750,000 for Obama
  • Alexa Lange Wesner, Former president of technology recruiting firm HireTECH. Confirmed to Austria, raised at least $750,000 for Obama
  • Pamela K. Hamamoto, Former executive at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. Nominated to Representative to the Office of the U.N. And Other International Organizations in Geneva, raised at least $700,000 for Obama
  • John R. Phillips, Founder and partner at Phillips & Cohen law firm. Confirmed to Italy and San Marino, raised at least $700,000 for Obama
  • Robert C. Barber, Attorney at Looney & Grossman LLP. Nominated to Iceland, raised at least $600,000 for Obama
  • Robert A. Sherman, Attorney at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Nominated to Portugal, raised at least $550,000 for Obama
  • James Walter "Wally" Brewster, Senior managing partner at consulting firm SB&K Global. Confirmed to Dominican Republic, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • Colleen Bradley Bell, Producer for Bell-Phillip Television Productions. Nominated to Hungary, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • Anthony Luzzatto Gardner, Executive at private equity firm Palamon Capital Partners. Nominated to European Union, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • George J. Tsunis, Founder, chairman and CEO of Chartwell Hotels, LLC. Nominated to Norway, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • Keith Michael Harper, Lawyer with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP. Nominated to UN Human Rights Council, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • Noah Bryson Mamet, Founder and president of consulting firm Noah Mamet & Associates. Nominated to Argentina, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • James Costos, Home Box Office (HBO) vice president. Confirmed to Spain and Andorra, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • Dwight L. Bush, Sr., President of financial and business consulting firm D.L. Bush & Associates. Nominated to Morocco, raised at least $500,000 for Obama
  • Michael Froman, Former deputy national security advisor. Confirmed to US Trade Representative, raised at least $500,000 for Obama.
As you can see Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, Obama treated plum ambassadorships as prizes in a game show based on how much election money was raised. In fact, over 56% of the ambassadorships during Obama’s term were assigned to political allies who probably had little or no diplomatic experience and whose only qualifications were that they made financial and/or political contributions to President Obama.

Now, I know that you were not around Washington during those years but your Democratic peers never complained when this type of nonsense was going on so please, shut up relative to Ivanka Trump who made this one trip, the hypocrisy is too overwhelming. Because I would bet that you would be no better than them if you were in Washington during those Obama ambassadorship auction years.

Okay, we are off to a good start to this month’s insanity: hypocrisy on ambassadorships, a cry for help out of LA, and a snowflake Congresswoman who had her feelings hurt while she and her peers continue to accomplish nothing.

The Horrors And Destruction That Donald Trump Has Imposed On America...Just Kidding! Part 22

Before we start today’s discussion, let’s review my voting history:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump.
  • I have rarely voted for a Republican for national office in my life.
A little over two years ago, many liberals, Democrats, and millennials were besides themselves with grief and fear because their pre-ordained queen, Hillary Clinton, was not elected President. Instead, Donald Trump was elected, an individual that these same people despised, hated, and feared, an individual they felt would endanger and possibly destroy the country and our democracy. For the past year and a half they fretted, worried and lashed out at anything or anyone that even remotely smelled of Donald Trump.

Given that Trump has been in office for about two and a half years, I thought, that as someone who did not vote for him, it would be a good idea to review the horror, trauma, and terrible things that Trump has subjected the country to in just twenty seven month’s time. This is obviously a very sarcastic comment when you take an unbiased look at what has happened during the Trump Presidency.

The many previous posts we did on this topic identified well over 250 good things that have happened to America and Americans since Trump became President can found by entering the phrase “the horrors and destruction” in the search box above. Today, let’s add another dozen or so good things that are going on in the country even though the doubters hate the reality that Trump is President [Note: we may have covered some of these before so consider the repeats, if any, a good review]:
  • After years of no change in pay, Trump engineered a budget increase and thus, a pay raise for our brave folks serving in our armed forces.
  • Trump embarrassed many NATO countries into finally paying their own fair share of their common defense, as required under the NATO Treaty requirements but what had been ignored in the past.
  • ISIS, the most violent and despicable terrorist group of all time, was virtually wiped out by Trump’s military strategy in a matter of months even though Obama said it would take generations.
  • Trump’s outreach to North Korea has resulted in North Korea not launching any more rocket tests since the Trump/Kim Jong Un summit last summer.
  • The economy has been roaring on all cylinders since Trump took office with record low unemployment levels across the board, rising wages, low inflation, low gas prices, and a soaring stock market.
  • Six million jobs have been created since Trump took office with many of them being on shore manufacturing jobs, jobs that Obama once said would take a “magic wand” to bring back.
  • A recent study by two University of Pennsylvania sociologists found that Americans on average have become “much less racist” since Trump took office in 2016, killing the deceitful and hateful rhetoric of the mainstream press and Democrats/liberals.
  • Trump has supported the need to better take care of our brave veterans, signing the Veterans Accountability and Whistleblower Act, signing the Harry W. Colmery Educational Assistance Act, signing the V.A. Choice and Quality Employment Act, and creating a new White House V.A. hotline, staffed by veterans and family members, to provide to any needs of any veteran.
For those of you that have hated on Trump since day one, and given your obvious gross error in judgment relative to Trump given the well 250 accomplishments we have previously listed and the eight newest accomplishments listed above, let me ask that you do us all a favor by implementing the following changes in your behavior and attitude:
  • Chill out, tamp down your TDS affliction. No matter how much you hate Trump on a sexist, personal basis, get over it. He is the legally and duly elected President, he will be around for a while so refocus your hatred on more constructive issues and matters. You will live a lot longer if you take your hatred out of your heart and soul and devote it to something positive.
  • I would really appreciate it if some of you would apologize to the Trump voters you have disrespected in some of the grossest terms possible over the past year. You have called millions of voters racists, ignorant, stupid, Nazis, KKK members, and other horrible names simply because you disagreed with their voting choice. No American should be called such disgusting names simply because they exercised their Constitutional rights to the best of their abilities. Plus, slandering over 60 million Americans is no way to unite the country and get it focused on the real issues facing us all.
  • More personally, I would like, no I am demanding, an apology from some of you for your slanderous and disgusting name calling because in doing so, you insulted and disrespected my sister, my family members, my friends, and my co-workers who simply voted their conscience. I will defend their right to vote anyway they wanted and will no put up with your childish and vicious venom and bile directed at them, very important people in my life.
  • And finally, I challenge you to read the following blog post, a post that shows quite clearly that it was hateful people like some of you and your silence during the Obama years that actually caused Trump to be elected. Thus, the people you hate for voting for Trump are actually looking back at you in the mirror:
https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2016/03/how-american-liberals-and-washington.html

If you were silent in the dozens of instances listed in this post then you were responsible for the very thing you hate: a Trump Presidency. Or put another way, a so far successful and productive Trump Presidency. Over 250 accomplishments in a little less than two and a half years is not too shabby despite many of you wanting both Trump and the country to fail.

By The Numbers: While Politicians Always Lie And the Numbers Always Tell The Truth

We occasionally do a post under the theme “by the numbers” where we take real world numbers to show how delusional and ignorant the American politician can be in the face of numbers that tell a different story that he or she is telling. To see previous posts under this theme, just enter “by the numbers” in the search box above.

1)No overall theme, just a look at some numbers today that show how inept the American class continues to be. Consider this first set of numbers from the June 14, 2019 edition of The Week magazine:
  • The median out of pocket cost for the 49 best selling prescription drugs increased 76% from 2012 to 2017.
  • Sixteen of those 49 top selling drugs more than doubled in cost over that time period.
  • One of these top selling drugs, Lyrica, went from $174 in 2012 to a whopping $411 in 2017.
  • I go over these numbers because this were the prime years of Obama Care. Remember, Obama promised that his landmark legislation would “bend the cost curve” of medical care in this country downward and make health care much more reasonable.
As we have pointed out many times, he lied about so many things, this remarkable cost increase in existing top selling drugs being just one one lie of many. The numbers show that Obama Care likely and dramatically increased the cost of popular medicines, the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do.

2) An article in the most recent Libertarian Party newsletter discussed the following pathetic numbers:
  • A recent Rasmussen poll found that 60% of Americans believe that the Federal government bureaucracy looks out only for itself, not the taxpayers and citizens it is supposed to be serving.
  • Only 27% believe that the Federal government primarily serves the interests of the American people.
  • Only one in six polled felt that government bureaucrats “do the right thing most of the time,” less than 20%.
  • It is now 47 years since the majority of Americans trusted the Federal government.
Pretty pathetic results but not unsurprising. Wasteful spending, scandals, idiotic public statements, the inability to think through a problem and actually resolve it, etc. has left most Americans with a feeling that Washington has no clue what is going on and how to manage it. And those Americans would be right.

3) Most Washington politicians should never talk about economics because they are almost totally ignorant of the subject and thus, their actions usually make economic conditions worse or they just show their stupidity. A recent article in Reason magazine by Katherine Mangu-Ward is a perfect illustration where politicians say one thing but the numbers show the exact opposite:
  • Many liberals/Democrats/Socialists in this country claim to be looking out for the common man/woman and that capitalism is killing off the economic dreams of the middle class, that the middle class and poor are falling further behind as the “income gap” grows.
  • Their typical and nonsensical knee jerk reaction is to tax the wealthy more in order to save the middle class which obviously makes no sense.
  • But the numbers show just the opposite. [Please note that the following numbers have all been adjusted for inflation over time so that all of the numbers are off a cost basis of the year 2016.]
  • The article shows that in 1967, 53.2% of American households were considered middle class, i.e. they earned between $35,000 and $100,000.
  • By 2016, about 50 years later, using inflation adjusted numbers, only 42.1% of American households were middle class, i.e. earning between $35,000 and $100,000 a year.
  • Horrors, the Socialists must be right, the American middle class is shrinking and being destroyed by capitalism.
  • Not so quick; while the American middle class may be shrinking the reason for the shrinkage is that they have moved out of the middle class and are now classified as upper class, i.e. they are earning over $100,000 a year.
  • In 1967, only 8.1% of American households were considered upper class but by 2016, 27.7% of Americans were considered upper class, earning over $100,000 a year, again, based on adjusting to inflation using 2016 as the base year.
  • And not only did the middle class shrink in size, but the lowest earning American households, earning less than $35,000 a year also shrunk, going from 38.7% in 1967 to 30.2% in 2016.
  • So the numbers show that in reality the only growing income bracket of the past 50 years was the wealthy bracket, those households earning over $100,000 a year while the middle class and lowest income household brackets actually shrank over those years.
So, another time when politicians’ rhetoric does not match the reality of the numbers. In total, middle class and low income households in this country are shrinking because those types of households have been getting wealthier and wealthier over time.

4) Liberals/Democrats/Socialists would also like you to believe that we are being overrun by violent crime waves and thus, we need to have stricter and stricter gun laws to stop the rampant violence. As the numbers show, this is not the case (with the possible exception of places like south Chicago which already have the strictest gun laws around AND the highest violent crime rates):
  • According to the Reason article, the violent crime rate across the country dropped .9% in 2017.
  • The murder rate fell 1.4%.
  • Both of these statistics follow a long term decreasing trend in both rates.
  • Property crime rates have been trending downwards for the past 20 years according to the FBI crime analysis.
  • The number of crimes per 100,000 people in the country’s urban areas has dropped from about 10,000 per 100,000 people in 1990 to less than 4,000 per 100,000 in 2018.
  • Fewer crimes means fewer people in prison with the 1.5 million Americans in prison in 2018 being a nine year low and a reduction of 1.3% vs. 2017.
  • Since 2008, the prison incarceration rate has dropped 15% across the country with the rate having dropped over 30% in some state prison systems.
So politicians would say that there are too many people going to prison but the numbers show that the rate of people going to or in prison is declining.

Politicians would say that we have to forfeit our Second Amendment rights because of out of control violent crimes but the numbers show that violent crime is going down without the need for more gun control.

Politicians would say that the middle class and lower earning American households are going away because of some nebulous political slogan called “income inequality” but the numbers show that the reason for this decline in the number of middle class and lower earning households is because these folks, on average, are in the highest earning brackets now.

And finally politicians told us that Obama Care would reduce medical costs including medicines but the numbers show that at the height of Obama Care, the legislation was actually driving/allowing drug costs to accelerate their upward cost trend.

All of which proves once again that while politicians may lie, the numbers never do.

By The Numbers: Who Goes Bankrupt First, lllinois or California?

We occasionally do a post under the theme “by the numbers” where we take real world numbers to show how delusional and ignorant the American politician can be in the face of numbers that tell a different story that he or she is telling. To see previous posts under this theme, just enter “by the numbers” in the search box above.

1) A few posts ago we made the case that Illinois would be the first state government to go into bankruptcy. But according to a recent article on the Epoch Times website, California may still be able to sneak past Illinois and become the first state government to go bankrupt:
  • While the governor of the state is hyping the estimate that this year’s California state government budget will have a revenue surplus of $20.6 billion, the state still has only $100.1 billion in assets to cover a whopping $369.9 billion in bills and unfunded liabilities.
  • According to the Truth In Accounting organization, these future bills include $102 billion of unfunded pension benefit liabilities and more than $107 billion in unfunded retiree healthcare for former state government workers.
  • With about 30 million adults living in the state, every one of those state residents would have to write a check for almost $7,000 to cover just these two buckets of future bills, assuming the buckets do not get any larger, which is highly unlikely.
  • This $7,000 is on top of some of the highest tax rates in the country.
  • Despite claiming that the state government has a budget surplus of over $20 billion, Shelia A. Weinberg, founder and CEO of the Truth in Accounting organization says not so fast, saying that the state needs, $270 billion to pay its bills, including unfunded pensions and retiree health care promises.”
  • In total, “Unless pension and retirees’ health care benefits are renegotiated, each taxpayer will be burdened with paying $22,000 in taxes in the future without receiving any services or benefits.”
  • And finally, according to Ms. Weinberg: “the state is drowning in debt.”
  • The CalPERS organization, which is responsible for funding state government workers’ pensions, has about $365 billion in assets, which leaves it $139 billion short of meeting its future fiscal obligations, this according to the Wall Street Journal.
  • As you can see, if there actually is a $20 billion surplus in the state government’s financials, it is a mere pittance needed to cover the future bills and unfunded state government liabilities and promises.
  • Or as Ms. Weinberg would say: “Touting a surplus is similar to me claiming I have a surplus because I think I will earn more than I spend next year, but not mentioning I have huge amounts of credit card debt.”
  • Despite these outrageously bad financial conditions the state government recently decided to pay $98,000,000 a year to provide free medical care to 90,000 illegal immigrants.
Given how highly taxed Californians are already taxed, driving more and more taxpayers out of the state, raising taxes even more would drive more people out of the state and probably reduce, rather than increase tax revenue, and thus, the fiscal death spiral starts.

2) But California is not alone in having a lot of unfunded future pension liabilities:
  • Across the country, only about 72.5% of all pension liabilities are funded and covered.
  • Back in the year 2000, on average pensions were funded properly at about 100% in total.
  • And this continued shortfall in funding future pension liabilities in the past ten years has been in the midst of a long economic growth period, imagine what happens when the next recession hits.
3) Back to Illinois for a minute, numbers from a March 25, 2019 Wall Street Journal article shows how bad off the state’s financials are:
  • The state faces a $3.2 billion tax revenue shortfall in the next fiscal year.
  • In addition, it has about $8 billion in unpaid bills on its books.
  • Depending on how you measure unfunded pensions liabilities, the shortfall estimate ranges from $133 billion to $250 billion.
  • If the shortfall is as high as $250 billion, then every one of the state’s 12.7 million residents would have to write a check for about $19,700 to cover the shortfall, thus, a family of four would have to write a check for almost $80,000.
  • The state has seen its population decrease 157,000 people since just 2013, despite other states around Illinois having seen population growth, as residents and businesses leave to find less onerous taxation and business regulations.
  • Since the third largest city in Illinois, Rockford has a little less than 150,000 residents, the 157,000 people who left the state since 2013 would represent the entire third largest city in the state moving out and taking a few residents from neighboring towns with it.
  • Moody’s Bond rating service has the state rated on notch above junk bond status, which will make it more and more difficult for the state to raise money via bond sales.
  • According to Adam Schuster of the Illinois Policy Institute: “As a state we are someone who is limping from paycheck to paycheck and relying on high interest payday loans.”
Yes, Illinois is still in the lead when it comes to which state will go bankrupt first, the numbers are pathetic and getting worse. And higher taxes is NOT going to fix the problem.

4) Back to California for a moment and another aspect of their poor numbers:
  • The homeless population in the county of los Angeles has jumped 12% in just the past year while the homeless population inside the LA city limits has jumped 16% in just the past year.
  • The county now has the highest outdoor homeless population in the country, 58,936.
  • The homeless population in San Francisco jumped 17% in the past year.
  • At just under 130,000 homeless Americans, the state has the highest homeless population in the country.
  • The city government and county government will spend over $1 billion this fiscal year to try and get a handle on the homeless problem with the county increasing its homeless budget by 15% in the next fiscal year.
Look, I am sensitive to someone who is homeless. In California especially it is probably not their fault as politicians have implemented idiotic and restrictive housing policies that have minimized the amount of affordable housing in the state.

But maybe the southern California politicians need to take a fresh look at the problem which keeps getting larger and larger despite tax rates and homeless budgets that keep getting larger and larger without a solution. Higher and higher taxes that do not resolve a growing problem, the numbers do not lie.
