January, 2020, Part 7, Political Class Insanity: More California Fiscal Insanity, More Elizabeth Warren Lies, More Obama Spying, and More Democrats' Hate

It political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) Elizabeth Warren wants to be President of the United States. She also may be a serial liar. She lied about her Native American ancestry, she lied about being fired because she was pregnant, she lied about her son not going to a private school. And now she may have lied again, this time relative to Trump’s ambassador nominations:

When recently asked about Gordon Sondland’s nomination to be the U.S. ambassador to the EU, Warren stated that, "when he (Sondland) came through – I think most of these guys came through on consent – I objected to all of them"
His ambassador appointment was approved by a Senate voice vote on June 28, 2018.
The vote was taken on his appointment when Senator Mitch McConnell was the only Senator in the Senate chamber.
Thus, Warren could not have objected via a voice vote since she was not there.
In fact, Fox News investigated and found that Warren did not object to any of the 11 ambassadors Trump put forward.

Another day, another lie from Ms. Warren, it is getting tiresome.

2) Sharyl Attkisson is a long time, respected and award winning journalist, probably one of the few in the industry these days with any degree of integrity and honesty. She believes that Obama and his cohorts illegally spied on her because of her honest reporting on the Obama scandals, Fast and Furious and the Benghazi massacre.

She has now sued people within the Obama administration since new, alleged information has been found:

This new information allegedly identifies the people involved in spying on her computers and phones from 2011 to 2014.
Specifically, "The plaintiffs first acquired the details regarding key individuals involved in the surveillance in August 2019 from a person involved in the wrongdoing who has come forward to provide information," Attkisson said in a complaint filed on behalf of herself and her family in Federal court in Maryland.
The prime defendant in the suit is Rod Rosenstein, a long time U.S. Attorney that Trump dismissed and who was allegedly in the center of all the illegal spying that was done on the Trump campaign.

Hopefully, Ms. Atkinsson gets some justice for these alleged transgressions and the free press gets some protection the future from illegal activities of government and political operatives whose actions undermine a free press and a free nation.

3) The Iranian people have been living under an Islamic and despotic dictatorship for decades. The regime has been more interested in spreading terrorism across the Middle East and suppressing freedom and rights in Iran than helping its citizens. However, recently the Iranian people have been getting restless and have been publicly protesting the government leaders that rule over them.

Public protests several months got over 1,000 Iranians killed by the government’s violent response. Public demonstrations started up again recently when the Iranian military shot down a passenger airliner taking off from the capital city of Iran, killing over 100 passengers and crew, many of whom were Iranian citizens. Again, the Iranian government has reacted violently to suppress these protests over the shooting.

A Republican Congressman put forth a House of Representatives resolution condemning the killing and harassing of Iranian citizens. Nice gesture, show some solidarity for ordinary people expressing their opinion and yearning for justice and freedom. Keep in mind that the Democratic controlled House recently passed a resolution condemning the killing of an Iranian general, Qassem Soleimani, someone who no one is disputing was one of the leading terrorists in the world.

This general was directly responsible for the deaths and wounding of hundreds of American soldiers and contract workers. He helped plan and spread terrorism throughout the world. He was planning attacks on four American embassies when Trump ordered the military to take him out, which was done with precision and no civilian casualties.

And yet Democrats passed a resolution condemning this attack, an attack that took out the world’s leading terrorist without civilian casualties. But when it comes to putting out a resolution condemning the Iranian government for shooting down its own plane and killing untold numbers of its own citizens and which also violently suppresses freedom of its citizens, Democrats in the House refused to pass a resolution for refuting those actions.

Needless to say the House Democrats’ actions are puzzling. Condemning Trump’s killing of a terrorist but not condemning the Iranian government’s heinous acts on their own people: “What a disappointment —Democrats just blocked a vote on a resolution supporting the Iranian protesters. This is not the time for partisan politics. This should be a time for the US Congress to speak with one voice to condemn an Iranian regime that kills its own people,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said in a tweet.

Another case of Trump Derangement Syndrome? The killing of a world leading terrorist is bad, the killing and suppression of innocent Iranian citizens is good? No other explanation is possible...or acceptable. Pure insanity and derangement.

4) What would a political insanity post be without reviewing the latest insanity from California’s wacky and inept political class? So many times we have discussed the crazy and dangerous situations throughout the state:

Homelessness continues to grow rapidly in the state while decreasing around the rest of the country, despite a strong national economy.
The state has hundreds of billions of dollars in unfunded state government liabilities.
The state has horrible public schools, horrible infrastructure conditions, and horrible forestry management skills, resulting in massive wildfires.
The state has seen the rise of Medieval diseases such a typhus because of the growing homelessness.
The state failed miserably in building a high speed rail line, wasting untold millions of dollars in the process.
The state has some of the highest taxes in the country.
The state’s crazy and likely useless environmental laws results in some state residents paying over $5 for a gallon of gas, about double what the rest of the country pays.

We could go on but you get the idea: the state is a mess with horrible priorities.

A little while ago the state decided that it would fund Medicaid healthcare coverage for illegal immigrants that were under the age of 25. Think about that: state taxpayers are now required to pay for the health care of people who are here illegally, breaking our existing laws, and who in all probability are contributing very little or nothing to the tax base funding this health care.

Now, according to the Daily Caller website: “[The latest state government] proposed budget now aims to extend free health care coverage to illegal immigrants 65 years old and older as a part of the state’s Medi-Cal program. This would add $80.5 million to the budget this year and $350 million annually once fully implemented.”

Again, we are talking about law breaking illegal immigrants who are over 65 years old which means that they too are highly unlikely viable taxpaying residents who would help fund this annual $350 million cost. Let’s do a little math:

There are about 125,000 homeless Americans living on the streets of California.
We have previously discussed the fact that on average it costs a homeless shelter about $2.94 to feed a homeless person a decent meal.
Which means that the $350 million devoted to illegal immigrants, who have broken our laws and who for the most part, being over 65 years old, are unlikely to be paying taxes, could have been used, on average, to provide about 1.192 MILLION meals of the state’s homeless population.
Which means each of the 125,000 homeless Americans in California could have received about 953 meals a year or almost three meals a day despite being homeless.

Instead, 125,000 Americans who are homeless in the state will go hungry and illegal immigrants will get free healthcare. Sounds like a very, very sad case of very, very bad priorities. Law breaking, non-citizens get rewarded while Americans suffer on.

No wonder over a million Americans have left the state since 2006, a topic for the start of our next political class insanity post. At some point, the insanity, neglect and abuse of those that pay taxes, obey our laws, and are in need are secondary to coddling illegal law breakers and inept state politicians.

January, 2020, Part 6, Political Class Insanity: Congresswomen Insulting Those That Serve, Biden Lies or Is Delusional, and CNN Bias Gets Exposed

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee has often been written about in this blog and never in flattering terms. This is a Congresswoman who once claimed that the Constitution is 400 years old (it isn’t), that her Congressional district in Houston was 50 feet below sea level (it isn’t) and once asked if one of the Mars surface explorer vehicles would be traveling where Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. And this lady votes on national laws. Insane.

But she recently was in front of the microphone with other members of Congress and was giving a heartfelt tribute to our armed forces folks who have suffered as a result of serving our country and protecting our freedoms. It was a very serious topic delivered in a very serious tone and I commend the Congresswoman for that.

But the disgrace of the moment was going on behind her as two despicable members of Congress, Congresswomen Omar and Tlabi, got into a private conversation immediately behind Ms. Jackson Lee and then proceeded to laugh and giggle for the rest of the speech. These are two individuals who have not been secretive in their hate and disgust with this country. And their disrespect to those that serve is proof again that their are truly hateful and useless politicians and leaders of this country. See their antics at:

2) Joe Biden wants to be President despite a lifetime of embarrassing, funny, sexist, and racist gaffes. The gaffes are in addition to a policy and legislative history that is underwhelming at best. The Fix This Nation website recently ran a story on his most recent lies and gaffes as it applies to foreign policy:

In a recent interview, Biden claimed that “we”, namely him and the Obama administration, took out Osama Bin Laden.
When challenged by the interviewer that Biden had advised AGAINST going after Bin Laden, Biden denied he said that, “No, I didn’t. I didn’t.”
But according to left-leaning Politico, Biden told Obama in 2012 not to go after Bin Laden, “Mr. President, my suggestion is, don’t go. ‘We have to do two more things to see if he’s there.”
But Obama never did those “two more things,” went after and got Bin Laden, and eight years later Biden is lying about what he said and what was well documented by multiple sources.
In answering a recent voter question about the war in Iraq under Bush, Biden insisted that he was against the invasion of Iraq “from the very moment” that bombs started dropping on the country.
But the first day of the invasion, Biden was on CNN and said, “We have one single focus. And that is, we’re about to send our women and men to war. The president is the commander-in-chief. We voted to give him the authority to wage that war. We should step back and be supportive.”
This statement after Biden voted on the floor of Congress to authorize the invasion.

Just two of the latest foreign policy lies from the former Vice President. Previously, he insisted he had met Putin and gave him a good talking to (he didn’t meet him) and that he had met, Kim, the North Korean maniac and had dressed him down also (he didn’t meet him either). Again, all of this raises the age old question: are politicians that stupid to believe their own lies or do they think we are too stupid to understand they are lying to us … or both?

3) One of the critical foundations of democracy is a free, unbiased and aggressive free press. An unbiased free press is a bastion against lying, corruption, and destruction of freedom in any democracy from the political class that operates within that democracy.

Unfortunately, those in this country with this heavy free press responsibility have fallen down completely on the job. The mainstream press in this country is anything but unbiased any more. Ratings, personal prejudices, and personal hatred override the tenets of unbiased and solid journalism.

Nowhere has this failure been more prevalent than at CNN, which at one time was a stronghold of solid and unskewed news reporting. But over time they have devolved into a biased, hateful center of news reporting and what has happened is their ratings have suffered as they eroded their integrity. Their nightly news broadcasts now trail Fox News by orders of magnitudes and most nights trail several other cable TV channels including the Food Channel and the Hallmark Channel. Thus, some nights, it is conceivable that more people are watching “Cupcake Wars” than CNN.

Project Veritas is a well known activist group which has done many undercover video stories in the past. Their videos exposed many, many political and government misdeeds, crimes, and idiocy. Their most recent effort was filmed by a gentleman named Cary Poarch, a former CNN employee. He spent two years secretly recording discussions among some higher ranking CNN employees and executives.

Poarch filmed different CNN employees and ended up showing how anti-Trump their reporting was and how they only focus on him and his actions. Also, they talked on the undercover film about making up news stories and how Democrats are far more abusive of power than Trump but they only focus on Trump.

Some of the biased comments from actual CNN officials include:

Patrick Davis: “What’s crazy to me is Obama was caught on camera…”

Poarch: “With the Russian thing…”

Davis: “Yes! ‘Wait ’til I get into office and I have more room to negotiate…

Poarch: “Flexibility.”

Davis: “‘I have more flexibility’ and I’m going, holy sh*t. I’m going with…”

Poarch: “And I voted for the man.”

Davis: "But then Trump’s getting hammered for twisting an arm, you know what I mean? It’s, I don’t know man; he (Trump) has survived everything up to this point…”

Poarch: “It’s crazy right?”

Davis: “Bill Clinton survived getting his d**k sucked under a table, you know what I’m saying? My guess is the House is crazy enough to go through with it and they’re starting it. Everyone’s trying to do this from a ‘holier than thou perspective’ like, ‘Oh, he abused his power.’ Those a**holes, those 500 a**holes up there, abuse their freaking power every day. They do this sh*t every fricking day.

Poarch: “For thirty years.”

Davis: “What he was doing was nothing compared to what these a**holes are doing on a daily basis, right?”

In other words, CNN knows about how biased they are, allowing power abusing Democrats in Congress to get a free pass while making up news stories about Trump. This is not how the free press supports democracy and freedom, it is also not how they can grow their audience base, Americans are too smart for that.

So, two members of Congress belittle and disrespect those that serve in our armed forces, Biden continues to lie or be delusional, and CNN is an insult to unbiased journalism, endangering democracy in the process.

January, 2020, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Government is The Problem, Kerry Lies, San Francisco Dies, and The Clintons Get Richer

Let’s get started:

1) We obviously write a lot about how inept our politicians are. They either ignore or cannot manage the major issues of our times or they pass laws that far more often than not make the original problem worse, not better. In the process, they run up a national debt of $23 TRILLION and never, ever resolve any issues.

The only good news out of all of this morass is that Americans may finally be becoming aware of how bad our politicians behave and perform:

According to recent polling results from Gallup, 27% of those polled named “government” as the top problem facing the country today, scoring higher than immigration, gun control, climate change, etc.

This is the highest that response has scored since 1939 when American politicians were bumbling their way through the Great Depression.

That was 80 years ago.

This was a whopping five point spike from 2018 when a still strong 22% thought that government was the biggest problem facing the country.

One theory is that the whole Russian collusion and then faux impeachment idiocy has resulted in such a fast decline in government faith.

“Government” though has been the worst problem facing the country in five of the past six years, having grown from a low of 16% to 27% in that short five year window.

No other reason is close with immigration coming in second with 16% thinking it is the worst problem facing the country, race relations is third at a measly 6% and along with healthcare also at 6%.

Bottom line is more and more Americans are realizing that government, e.g. politicians are the real problem. Which is why term limits is so important because really, how much worse could it be if we got rid of every politician now sitting in office? Or as Ronald Reagan once said: "Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem."

2) We have heard the following nonsense before but it is worth reviewing again. Obama Secretary of State John Kerry recently said: “I believe Joe Biden is the only person who has the set of relationships around the world, who has had this unbelievable breadth of experience as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and then as vice president for eight years, and an administration, by the way, which never had a whiff of scandal.”

We will not go into the beginning part of the nonsense he states, that Biden is qualified to be President, that argument is too easy to tear up. But it is hilarious that many from the Obama domain parrot the same talking point that there were no scandals during Obama’s eight years. Seriously? Do these people like Kerry really believe this nonsense or do they think we are too stupid and believe their lies? Consider:

Obama’s Fast and Furious program violated domestic laws, international laws, and international arms treaties by running guns to violent Mexican drug cartels, guns that in turn were used to kill hundreds of Mexican citizens and at least one U.S. Border Patrol guard.
Obama weaponized the IRS to attack and mute his political opponents, violating their First Amendment rights.
Obama violated the Fourth Amendment by spying on just every American’s electronic communications without due process or valid warrants.
Obama ordered the assassination of American citizens living overseas without due process of law.
Obama unilaterally changed several parts of Obama Care without Congressional permission.
Obama lied hundreds of times about numerous Obama Care tenets claiming that Americans could keep their doctors, insurance plans and hospitals under Obama Care if they wanted to keep them (not true), that families could see up to a $2,500 annual reduction in their healthcare costs under Obama Care (not true), and that Obama Care “would bend the cost curve” of health care costs (not true.)
Obama violated existing sanctions against terror nation Iran by secretly shipping it close to $2 billion in cold cash, secretly delivered on pallets in the middle of the night.

3) We have often spoken recently about how the politicians in California, at the local and state level, are turning the state into a mess. Particularly bad is the situation in San Francisco:

Crime is rising since the penalty for lesser criminal offenses has been virtually reduced to zero.
The homeless population is skyrocketing.
It is now not illegal to defecate, urinate, or shoot up illegal drugs in the open.
Taxpayer money is used to fund the drug habits of city drug users.

While these words are bad enough but actually seeing the degradation and horrible conditions that politicians have caused to happen in the city and elsewhere in the state really drives home the bottom line that the politicians are useless, uncaring, or both, as witnessed in the following video:

4) The Clintons have made themselves very rich since Bill left office. Of course, it did not hurt that Hillary basically ran a pay for play operation while Secretary of State where she granted foreigners favors at taxpayer expense for the opportunity of Bill making mega bucks by giving speeches in return (e.g. Uranium One deal, Ericsson deal, etc.). Her operation of the Clinton Foundation garnered untold millions of dollars from foreign donors that recent news reports indicate that Bill may have used as a private slush fund.

They were also able to leverage their influence and positions of power to make their daughter, Chelsea Clinton, very rich despite her lack of experience and training:

Despite having no prior experience or expertise in investing, Chelsea was appointed to the board of an Internet investment company in 2011.
Combining her $50,000 annual retainer for that position and an initial grant of $250,000 in IAC/INterActiveCorp stock, recent news reports indicate she turned those rewards into $9 million, again despite having no experience in the Internet industry or the investment industry.
SEC documents from the company claim that she got the plum position because of “her broad public policy experience and keen intellectual acumen, which together the Board believes continue to bring a fresh and youthful perspective to IAC’s businesses and initiatives.” Yeah, right.

This does not include the $600,000 annual salary she got from NBC News right out of college to do news stories although she had no journalism training or experience. One of her best stories was a hard hitting interview with the Geico mascot where she asked the fictional character, “Now gecko, do people recognize you on the street?” And, “Is there a downside to all this fame?”

The corruption, greed, and chutzpah of the Clinton crime family knows no bounds.

That should do it for today: government stinks, Kerry is delusional or lying, San Francisco is dying, and the Clintons continue to thrive despite providing no redeeming societal value.

January, 2020, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Economic Ignorance In California and Ignoring Americans' Safety Everywhere

Let’s get started:

1) The ignorance when it comes to basic economic theory and reality from American politicians is a constant source of wonder. They fail to grasp even the simplest, most common sense economic principles. They recently demonstrated this trait out in, where else, California:

California’s recently enacted law, AB5, was supposed to force companies to treat their part time/”gig” employees as full time employees.
Gig employees are usually considered short term temp employees who fulfill a specific need for a short term need for a company.
Examples of gig employees are Uber drivers, writers, consultants, truck drivers, etc.
The reasons companies use gig employees is because everyone wins: the companies get a short term need fulfilled without a long term commitment and gig employees get flexibility to work if and when the want and need.
Seems like a sweet deal for all parties involved but leave it to state politicians to screw it up.
The first casualty of this bad law was actually people that worked for a company that supported the law, Vox Media.
Vox owns a subsidiary called SB Sports Nation, and shortly after the law was enacted SB said that it would no longer hire freelance writers based in California because it did not want to pay full time benefits to part time, freelance writers as required by the new law.
According to SB: “In the early weeks and months of 2020, we will end our contracts with most contractors at California brands,” SB Nation Executive Director John Ness said in December. “This shift is part of a business and staffing strategy that we have been exploring over the past two years, but one that is also necessary in light of California’s new independent contractor law, which goes into effect January 1, 2020.”
So the good news for SB free lance writers, and probably soon to be good news to other gig workers in the state, is that you will now get better benefits for your work efforts. The bad news is you no longer will get any work efforts since companies will go to other states to get writers, truck drivers, consultants, etc.
Again, everyone was happy until the politicians messed it up.
Fortunately, sane people are fightingthis stupid law. The California Trucking Association has gotten a temporary restraining order which stops AB5 from applying to thousands of California truckers. The American Society of Journalists has asked a Federal judge for the same injunction. Local News 8 in San Diego asked a truck driver about his opinion to which he replied, “we’re out here working hard and now they want to take our money away too.”

Just another reason, besides high taxes, onerous regulations, high gas prices, wild fries, street defecation and urination, high crime, etc. for hard working taxpayers to leave the state.

2) The city of Denver has joined other liberal cities and has decided that protecting illegal immigrant criminals is a better idea than protecting the lives and property of American citizens. Thus, the city has decided to not cooperate with Federal immigration authorities and help those authorities to at least take into custody illegal immigrant criminals.

Consider the dire ramifications of just one case that this idiocy has created:

Juan Sanchez is an illegal immigrant who has been deported six different times.
He was involved in a hit and run accident where he killed a pedestrian.
Thus, he fled the scene of the crime and went into hiding.
The local authorities finally took him into custody but refuse to turn him over to the Feds to be deported.
He will likely make bail and probably flee from justice.
Oh, by the way, he has past convictions of felony crimes.
In addition to not turning over illegal immigrant criminals to the Feds. current Colorado state law prohibit local law enforcement from even providing information about immigrant criminals to the Feds such as where the criminal is hiding or living.

Just another example where the rights and lives of illegal immigration criminals are more important to American politicians than actually taxpaying real American citizens. Insanity.

3) Let’s stay with this theme that illegal immigrants are more important than the needs and safety of Americans and visit with the Biden family. Over the holidays Jill Biden, Joe Biden’s wife, decided to visit the Matamoros illegal immigrant camp in Mexico. The camp is home to migrants looking to some way, somehow get into this country illegally.

Once there, she showed her solidarity and joy with those looking to break our laws, if even just coming over the border illegally. She did not bring joy to:

The hundreds of thousands of homeless Americans over the holidays.
The millions of hungry Americans over the holidays.
The family of Corporal Ronil Singh who was murdered about a year ago by a Mexican gang member who was in this country illegally but protected by liberal cities’ sanctuary laws.
The family of El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputy Brian Ishmael who was gunned down while responding to a call concerning illegal immigrant drug dealers.

Again, liberal politicians care more about illegal immigrants than hard working, tax paying citizens, citizens that sometimes pay with their lives and always pay with their taxes.

Economic ignorance and ignoring Americans, typical political class insanity.
