October, 2020, Part 6, Political Class Insanity: The Clinton Books Bomb, The Chicago Mayor's Horrid Priorities and A Texas Politician Who Lives In California

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) I have always felt that those who serve in the House of Representatives should live in their Congressional district. It has always made no sense to me that someone would be elected to represent a group of people in Congress but not live among them to get an up close feel of the issues that their constituents face every day. 

For example, Congresswoman Maxine Walters in California represents one of the poorer Congressional districts in the state and country. But she does not live in that district that she represents in Congress, preferring to live in a mansion-like home in a much more affluent area with other rich folks, not the poorer voters she is supposed to represent.

But Ms. Walters is a saint compared to a politician in Texas:

• Helane Sawsan Seikaly is running as a Democrat to represent Texas voters in the House of Representatives.
• Specifically, she wants to be the Congresswoman for the 3rd Congressional district in Texas.
• But there is a problem in that Ms. Seikaly lives and works in California.
• Despite living in California she has voted in Texas for at least the past four years, falsely using her parents’ Dallas address as her own address, misrepresenting herself to the state and its voting procedures.
• She has tried to position herself as someone who “understands the challenges facing North Texans”.... even though she has been living in California.
• Thus, it makes it a little difficult to see how she understands the needs of the Congressional district she wants to represent when not only does she not live in the district, she lives in an entirely different state.
• When responding to a questionnaire from the Dallas Morning News earlier this year, in true political doublespeak, she lied without appearing to lie:"My parents came to North Texas in the late 80s when I was a year old. It's been home ever since." 
• No, it's been the home of her parents since then, not her home.
• She became a member of the California bar in June, 2014, she is listed on their website as an active attorney in California, her bar information says she lives in Roseville, California, she was an adjunct professor at the University Of California Davis law school from 2015 to 2017, and she worked for a California law firm from January 2015 until March, 2020, Churchwell White LLP, a firm “with deep roots in California.

So, not only is this politician likely in violation of the voting laws of Texas by voting in the state but no doubt not living in the state, she somehow wants voters to ignore this criminal infraction and vote for her, someone who is worst than folks like Maxine Walters: not only does she not live in the Congressional district she wants to represent, she doesn't even live in the state of that Congressional district. Insane.

2) Somehow politicians and those related to the political scene think that the rest of the world is dying to find out their inner thoughts and insights to life and will pay good money if they write a book about their wonderful selves. Most of the time these books get an initial rush of readers but fade very quickly to the discount rack in the local Barnes and Noble store.

Thus, you know a book is really, really bad if a political operative writes a book that does not even get that initial rush as we see from the latest efforts from Chelsea Clinton and her mom, two political operatives that refuse to fade away and who constantly have to feel they are important:

• Let’s be clear, I am not a fan of either Chelsea or Hillary.
• Chelsea has absolutely no life experiences that I care to hear about and her mother in my opinion, ran a crime syndicate that enriched the Clinton clan while she was Secretary of State.
• And apparently most of the rest of the world now feels the same way.
• A recent book that Chelsea Clinton co-authored, did not crack the top 15,000 titles that Amazon sells.
• The book, “Governing Global Health,” ranked 17,748 in a recent Amazon listing of book sales.
• And those that did read it gave an average rating of only 1.6 out of five.
• One Amazon reviewer called it “As superficial and boring as its author, who has received a free ride her entire life.”
• And her mother's recent book, “Stronger Together: A Blueprint for America’s Future,” did even worse despite Hillary’s name on the front.
• It sold less than 3,000 copies its first week and somehow did far worst than her daughter’s book, ranking a whopping 89,681 on Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank.

Wow, could it be possible that America is finally growing tired of the Clinton’s, people who have added very little to the welfare and benefit of Americans but who enriched themselves beyond every American’s dream in the process? We can only hope that these book failures means they will finally just...go...away.

3) We have far too often discussed the reality that Chicago as a city is a mess:

• It is the murder capital of the country with hundreds and hundreds of city residents getting killed and thousands getting wounded every year.
• It is a city that very well will go bankrupt very soon, unseating Detroit as the largest American city to ever go bankrupt.
• Its ever rising crime rate has forced the mayor, Lori Lightfoot, to plead with businesses to not abandon the city because the city cannot protect the assets or employees of those businesses.
• The city is so unsafe that the same mayor has allotted herself and her neighborhood extra police protection while not providing enough police protection for regular citizens.

Given the dire situation in the city, one would hope that the mayor was hard at work on these major issues and taking her job very seriously. But of course, if you made that assumption, you would be wrong:

• I am sure that the whole covid crisis continues to threaten the lives and health of people in Chicago and needs to be taken seriously.
• Unfortunately, the serious part did not make through to the mayor,
• In a recent news conference she showed up dressed in a bizarre Halloween outfit.
• She showed up not as a dignified leader of the city but as “Captain Corona,” wearing a cape and giving out Halloween candy.
• She was there at the press conference to discuss the city’s Halloween procedures.

Over 3,100 Chicago residents have been shot in the city this year and she takes time out of her day to dress up in a bizarre Halloween outfit. Hundreds of city residents have been killed by the violence in her city and she devotes a press conference to Halloween procedures, something that a simple press release should have handled. Tough to take any politician seriously when dressing up for Halloween trick or treating is a high priority for them and they are dressed like this:

So, today we have a California resident that wants to be a Texas Congresswoman, the long awaited failure of anyone in the Clinton family to reinsert themselves into our lives, and the continued failure of the Chicago mayor to resolve any issue and who acts like a clown in the process.

July, 2020, Part 2, I Am A Global Warming Doubter and A Believer In Science: Chelsea Clinton Hysteria Vs. A Real Scientist

Just about every month we have enough material to return to a continuing theme in this blog, namely that “I am a global warming doubter AND a believer in science.” This became of interest because of people like Al Gore who fanatically and verbosely claimed that you had to be an idiot to not believe in manmade global warming. It has been my life belief that anyone that is that loud and that obnoxious is hiding something, that rather than argue facts and reality it is better to beat down and insult anyone who disagrees.

As we have dove into the whole issue of manmade global warming, or its new rebranded title of climate change, we found that Al Gore and people like him were guilty of a number of things:

• Ignoring science and realities that did not support their opinions and positions.
• Rather than have an adult conversation about climate, these types of advocates like Gore sank to the level of insulting those who dared look at ALL science by calling them a variety of names including racists, homophobes, terrorists, flat earth believers, and other slanderous names.
• Continuing to insist that politicians step up their intrusions into our lives with higher taxes, more regulations, and more control on our freedoms and standards of living based on a shaky theory at best.

Thus, let’s see the latest facts and science that prove you can be a global warming doubter and a believer in science, regardless of what Al Gore proclaims.

1) In our last post reviewed two major global warming forecasts that came nowhere close to being accurate. In 2004, the Pentagon was charged by the Bush administration to come up with a view of how global warming would change the world. The result of this research predicted climate disasters, cities being under water, widespread famine and food shortages, rioting in every major city, etc. by the year 2020. We are in that year now and obviously this forecasts of global warming was wrong on every prediction.

Back in 2009, Al Gore cited state of the art computer models that predicted within five years there was a 75% chance that the North Pole would be completely melted. Eleven years later the Pole has not only not melted but the size and density of the ice at the Pole is intensifying, not melting.

One lesson we should learn from these two forecasting disasters is to certainly not trust people who have no climate experience or education, the Pentagon and Al Gore. Which brings us to today’s non-scientist and her failed prediction:

• Chelsea Clinton has absolutely no climate expertise.
• But that did not stop her three years ago when she proclaimed that “experts say we have 3 years to get climate change under control.”
• The source of her dire prediction looks to be a Washington Post article from three years ago: “A group of prominent scientists, policymakers, and corporate leaders released a statement Wednesday warning that if the world doesn’t set greenhouse gas emissions on a downward path by 2020, it could become impossible to contain climate change within safe limits.”
• But the leader of this group is associated with the United Nations climate clique which has never been right about any climate change or global warming prediction.

Three years after non-climate expert Chelsea Clinton predicted that we would be doomed by this year nothing in the world of climate has changed to any great degree, leaving Chelsea’s prediction of gloom and doom just another failed forecast on the junkyard of failed climate forecasts.

2) One of the big problems we have always talked about regarding Al Gore and others like him is that they cherry pick the “science” results that suit their preconceived notions on climate, ignoring any and all scientific research that would raise doubts or topple their precarious notions on global warming and climate change. To consider ALL available research, as we have shown, would raise serious doubts about their scary theories and (failed) climate forecasts.

Consider the credentials of a climate expert, Dr. Mototaka Nakamura:

• He has a doctorate of sciences from MIT.
• He has about 25 years experience in studying weather and climate change at various universities and scientific organizations that include MIT, Georgia Institute of Technology, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the California Institute of Technology, Duke University and other scientific bases.
• He has studied the oceans and the atmosphere extensively and has published over 20 scientific papers on fluid dynamics.
• He certainly has much better credentials on this topic than Chelsea Clinton, Al Gore, any Swedish teenager, etc. 

He has also published a book, “The Global Warming Hypothesis Is An Unproven Hypothesis.” Some of his scientific findings and reasoning include the following global warming myth busting opinions and conclusions:

• His first big assertion is that the underlying data for the global warming mania is not trustworthy: “Global mean temperatures before 1980 are based on untrustworthy data. Before full planet surface observation by satellite began in 1980, only a small part of the Earth had been observed for temperatures with only a certain amount of accuracy and frequency. Across the globe, only North America and Western Europe have trustworthy temperature data dating back to the 19th century.”
• So right off the bat, he asserts that the raw data is bad and the logical conclusion is that if the raw, underlying data is bad, then any computer modeling, analysis, and forecasting will also be bad, “garbage in, garbage out.”
• Given the 100% failure of any and all climate and global warming models over the years when compared to reality this seems to be a sound conclusion.
• On top of the bad and untrustworthy raw data, the good doctor points out, as we have previously, that the industry of global warming has been caught any number of times of what he calls “data falsification.”
• Data falsification could include anything from adjusting historical raw data to better fit a researcher’s preconceived global warming theory or ignoring data that would disrupt their preconceived theory.
• Getting back to the raw data, Nakamura claims: “The global surface mean temperature-change data no longer have any scientific value and are nothing except a propaganda tool to the public.”
• He goes as far to say that manmade activities relative to carbon footprints and other factors cannot be measured and tracked, we do not have the knowledge or technology to consider all the factors that go into climate change and to try and do so results in the simplification of the analysis which results in the wrong conclusions and forecasts.
• These interacting and complex factors include mankind’s use of carbon energy sources, the sun’s activity, clouds and cloud covers, etc.: “Without a reasonably accurate representation, it is impossible to make any meaningful predictions of climate variations and changes in the middle and high latitudes and thus the entire planet.” 
• In fact, he gets pretty brutal in criticizing past climate modeling efforts: “The real or realistically-simulated climate system is far more complex than an absurdly simple system simulated by the toys that have been used for climate predictions to date, and will be insurmountably difficult for those naive climate researchers who have zero or very limited understanding of geophysical fluid dynamics. The dynamics of the atmosphere and oceans are absolutely critical facets of the climate system if one hopes to ever make any meaningful prediction of climate variation.”
• The big factor that computer models ignore is solar input which most models view as constant which is a false assumption to make.

So who you gonna believe: Chelsea Clinton of Dr. Nakamura. A rich, non-scientist who I believe has degrees in history and international relations or a Phd scientist who has decades experience in the field. Seems like a pretty simple answer.

January, 2020, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Government is The Problem, Kerry Lies, San Francisco Dies, and The Clintons Get Richer

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We obviously write a lot about how inept our politicians are. They either ignore or cannot manage the major issues of our times or they pass laws that far more often than not make the original problem worse, not better. In the process, they run up a national debt of $23 TRILLION and never, ever resolve any issues.

The only good news out of all of this morass is that Americans may finally be becoming aware of how bad our politicians behave and perform:

• According to recent polling results from Gallup, 27% of those polled named “government” as the top problem facing the country today, scoring higher than immigration, gun control, climate change, etc.
• This is the highest that response has scored since 1939 when American politicians were bumbling their way through the Great Depression.
• That was 80 years ago.
• This was a whopping five point spike from 2018 when a still strong 22% thought that government was the biggest problem facing the country.
• One theory is that the whole Russian collusion and then faux impeachment idiocy has resulted in such a fast decline in government faith.
• “Government” though has been the worst problem facing the country in five of the past six years, having grown from a low of 16% to 27% in that short five year window.
• No other reason is close with immigration coming in second with 16% thinking it is the worst problem facing the country, race relations is third at a measly 6% and along with healthcare also at 6%.

Bottom line is more and more Americans are realizing that government, e.g. politicians are the real problem. Which is why term limits is so important because really, how much worse could it be if we got rid of every politician now sitting in office? Or as Ronald Reagan once said: "Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem."

2) We have heard the following nonsense before but it is worth reviewing again. Obama Secretary of State John Kerry recently said: “I believe Joe Biden is the only person who has the set of relationships around the world, who has had this unbelievable breadth of experience as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and then as vice president for eight years, and an administration, by the way, which never had a whiff of scandal.”

We will not go into the beginning part of the nonsense he states, that Biden is qualified to be President, that argument is too easy to tear up. But it is hilarious that many from the Obama domain parrot the same talking point that there were no scandals during Obama’s eight years. Seriously? Do these people like Kerry really believe this nonsense or do they think we are too stupid and believe their lies? Consider:

• Obama’s Fast and Furious program violated domestic laws, international laws, and international arms treaties by running guns to violent Mexican drug cartels, guns that in turn were used to kill hundreds of Mexican citizens and at least one U.S. Border Patrol guard.
• Obama weaponized the IRS to attack and mute his political opponents, violating their First Amendment rights.
• Obama violated the Fourth Amendment by spying on just every American’s electronic communications without due process or valid warrants.
• Obama ordered the assassination of American citizens living overseas without due process of law.
• Obama unilaterally changed several parts of Obama Care without Congressional permission.
• Obama lied hundreds of times about numerous Obama Care tenets claiming that Americans could keep their doctors, insurance plans and hospitals under Obama Care if they wanted to keep them (not true), that families could see up to a $2,500 annual reduction in their healthcare costs under Obama Care (not true), and that Obama Care “would bend the cost curve” of health care costs (not true.)
• Obama violated existing sanctions against terror nation Iran by secretly shipping it close to $2 billion in cold cash, secretly delivered on pallets in the middle of the night.

3) We have often spoken recently about how the politicians in California, at the local and state level, are turning the state into a mess. Particularly bad is the situation in San Francisco:

• Crime is rising since the penalty for lesser criminal offenses has been virtually reduced to zero.
• The homeless population is skyrocketing.
• It is now not illegal to defecate, urinate, or shoot up illegal drugs in the open.
• Taxpayer money is used to fund the drug habits of city drug users.

While these words are bad enough but actually seeing the degradation and horrible conditions that politicians have caused to happen in the city and elsewhere in the state really drives home the bottom line that the politicians are useless, uncaring, or both, as witnessed in the following video:

4) The Clintons have made themselves very rich since Bill left office. Of course, it did not hurt that Hillary basically ran a pay for play operation while Secretary of State where she granted foreigners favors at taxpayer expense for the opportunity of Bill making mega bucks by giving speeches in return (e.g. Uranium One deal, Ericsson deal, etc.). Her operation of the Clinton Foundation garnered untold millions of dollars from foreign donors that recent news reports indicate that Bill may have used as a private slush fund.

They were also able to leverage their influence and positions of power to make their daughter, Chelsea Clinton, very rich despite her lack of experience and training:

• Despite having no prior experience or expertise in investing, Chelsea was appointed to the board of an Internet investment company in 2011.
• Combining her $50,000 annual retainer for that position and an initial grant of $250,000 in IAC/INterActiveCorp stock, recent news reports indicate she turned those rewards into $9 million, again despite having no experience in the Internet industry or the investment industry.
• SEC documents from the company claim that she got the plum position because of “her broad public policy experience and keen intellectual acumen, which together the Board believes continue to bring a fresh and youthful perspective to IAC’s businesses and initiatives.” Yeah, right.

This does not include the $600,000 annual salary she got from NBC News right out of college to do news stories although she had no journalism training or experience. One of her best stories was a hard hitting interview with the Geico mascot where she asked the fictional character, “Now gecko, do people recognize you on the street?” And, “Is there a downside to all this fame?”

The corruption, greed, and chutzpah of the Clinton crime family knows no bounds.

That should do it for today: government stinks, Kerry is delusional or lying, San Francisco is dying, and the Clintons continue to thrive despite providing no redeeming societal value.

November, 2019, Part 10, Political Class Insanity: Legal Idiocy From A Congressman, Pensions Funds' Dire Financial Straits and Hillary Clinton's Delusions

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We will classify this first instance of political class insanity as “are you that stupid?” When prosecutors want to prosecute a potential criminal, they usually cannot rely on hearsay testimony and evidence. Why? Because the person giving the hearsay evidence could just be making it up for whatever reason they want. 

For example, let’s say I don’t like my neighbor so I am going to say my neighbor tortured and killed a dog. Police cannot find any evidence of the dead dog’s remains, there is no video proof of the torture, there is not a long record of animal abuse, no one reported a missing dog, etc. All the police have is my hearsay word that my neighbor is so evil that he killed a dog. This case would never see the light of day in a courtroom since there is no direct evidence.

But according to a current U.S.Congressman, hearsay evidence without any direct evidence is a pretty good deal:

• According to Ryan Saavedra, writing for the Daily Wire website, a Democratic Congressman, commenting on the lack of hard proof that Trump committed any impeachment offense, said that “hearsay evidence can be much better evidence than direct evidence.” [my emphasis added.]
• This is the nonsensical opinion of Democratic Congressman Mike Quigley relative to the impeachment witch hunt currently underway in D.C.
• Specifically: “And, if gets to closed primer on hearsay, I think the American public needs to be reminded that countless people have been convicted on hearsay because the courts have routinely allowed and created, needed exceptions to hearsay. Hearsay can be much better evidence than direct … and it’s certainly valid in this instance.”
• Hearsay evidence is NEVER better than direct evidence regardless of his stupid assumption on criminal acts and behavior.
• In our dog example above, in Quigley’s world the word of an irate neighbor would be better than having video, forensic, or other direct proof that the neighbor killed the dog.
• And why is hearsay evidence so much more “valid in this instance” vs. any other instance?
• Fortunately, real Americans realize what stupidity this is and reacted accordingly: “Can you believe this insanity? ‘Hearsay can be much better evidence than DIRECT EVIDENCE’ according to Democrat Mike Quigley: "Are you fricken kidding me? 3rd and 4th party info better than hearing it yourself?”
• “From a reliable 4th party source according to other Democrats like #FullOfSchiff the best evidence is (is) shit you just make up for political gain as that appears to be what they have been doing all along.”
• "Uh?"
• “So not only are the Democrats ADMITTING their entire impeachment sham is based off of hearsay, but now they're trying to defend it. What a joke!”
• “Sounds exactly like what someone would say when they’re desperate and have no actual evidence…”
• “Just want to add that these lawmakers who say “hearsay can be much better evidence than direct” are the same ones who want to subject you to a due process-less red flag system. I’m sure that will just stop with guns, right? You still cool with that?”

This kind of nonsense and stupidity would be funny if it was not so serious and dangerous to our democracy and liberties. In this Congressman’s eyes, if someone does not like you, that is reason enough to subject you to criminal investigations and punishment even though there is no actual direct evidence you did anything wrong. As someone who took an oath to uphold the laws of the land he plays fast and loose on what has been a historical and successful road map for justice.

2) We have previously discussed the horrid financial condition of many public servant pension and retirement programs that local and state politicians have grossly mismanaged over the years. These pension programs have been severely underfunded with future unfunded liabilities totalling billions and billions of dollars.

Eventually these unfunded liabilities will become due and there will not be enough money to fund them, resulted in some or all of the following consequences:

• Pension and health benefits of public servant retirees will be drastically reduced.
• Taxes of all citizens will be drastically raised to fund the shortfall, resulting in stunted economic growth and financial freedom.
• Local and state governments will file for bankruptcy with unknown but certainly negative consequences.

How badly have politicians screwed up these funding policies? Consider some numbers from a recent Wall Street Journal article:

• Current state and local government pension programs have about $4.4 TRILLION in assets to payout future liabilities.
• That sounds like a lot of money until you find out that these programs actually have $8.6 TRILLION in future liabilities.
• Thus, under current economic trends and assets, state and local government have just over half of the amount of wealth they need to keep their pension programs solvent.
• And even these paltry numbers might be too rosy a picture since the average assumption across the country is that annual pension returns on investments will be about 7%, a very high and probably unrealistic assumption given that any future recessions could make the annual investment returns to be much less 7%.

The reason for this is very simple: politicians do not care about tomorrow or long term planning, they only care about their own, short term careers. Thus, rather than save for the future to fund these pension programs, politicians would rather spend that money today on wasteful programs and projects that help them get reelected over and over, the future welfare of government workers and their retirements be damned.

3) Margaret Thatcher was one of the most famous and strongest women leaders in the past fifty years. In fact, outside of possibly Mother Teresa, I cannot think of another woman who was as strong and as much of a leader than Thatcher in recent decades.

Compare Hatcher to Hillary Clinton:

• Hillary protected, abetted, and defended a sexual predator husband for decades, a predator that allegedly groped, had sex with, and possibly raped an untold number of women over the years.
• She publicly went after those alleged abused women to publicly discredit their stories of sexual harassment and abuse at the hands of husband Bill.
• She used the the Clinton Foundation as a money laundering operation to enrich herself and her family. 
• While a U.S. Senator, her legislative record is almost non-existent, since only three bills she was the sponsor of got enacted.
• And those three bills were underwhelming: one sponsored bill renaming a post office in a New York town with less than 2,000 residents, sponsoring bill renaming a portion of a highway outside of Buffalo, New York and the third named an existing brick house in Troy, New York as a national historic site which honored a 19th century female union leader.
• She was involved in so many scandals including, but not limited to, Whitewater, Vince Foster’s suspicious death, cattle futures fortune, White House furniture theft, Benghazi cover up, use of a private and illegal computer server in her home, etc.
• She has been caught lying so many times including the reality that she did NOT land under sniper fire in Bosnia like she claimed, all of her grandparents were NOT immigrants like she claimed, she knew the Benghazi attacks were NOT caused by an obscure video like she claimed, etc.

We could go on but you get the idea. She has been a vindictive, lying, and ineffective first wife , Senator, and Secretary of State.

And yet despite all of this trash that has followed her or been caused by her, she has the nerve to bad mouth Margaret Thatcher:

• In a recent interview she said that Thatcher did not even try to “make a positive difference” for women.
• Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, had recently released yet another book, called “The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience,” and was being interviewed on BBC radio.
• The book did not include Margaret Thatcher as one of her gutsy women because Thatcher did not meet the criteria of “knocking down barriers for others” and “did not make an effort to help other women.”
• Specifically: “She does but she doesn’t fit the other part of the definition — in our opinion — which really is knocking down barriers for others and trying to make a positive difference. I think the record is mixed with her.”

Seriously? One of the most successful and strongest political women in the past decades and Clinton does not think that Thatcher was gutsy enough to exist and thrive in a man dominated field? That she does not even make it into Clinton’s book of gutsy women? 

Unreal. Just another example of an American politician being so out of touch, being so petty, and so vain. It was not Thatcher’s job to open doors for other women, It was her job to serve her country and EVERY citizen in that country. She did it well, for a long time, and honorably. Given the list of Clinton’s misadventures listed above, Hilary Clinton is NOT the right person to judge Thatcher.
So today’s insanity includes a former first woman who has no concept of what honor is, politicians have no idea how to manage pension systems, and a politician who has no concept of basic legal principles.

December, 2018, Part 8, Political Class Insanity: Illegal Immigrants Are More Important Than Needy Americans In Oregon and The Good and Bad About The Clintons

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We’ve gone over these numbers before but let’s start off today with a refresher:

• Thousands of U.S. armed forces veterans may have died because they could not get the healthcare they needed from the VA.
• Over 500,000 Americans, adults and kids, are likely homeless right now.
• About one in eight Americans are living below the poverty line.
• Over 60,000 Americans die from drug addiction every year and over 40,000 of them overdose on opioids
• Four American kids die on average everyday from child abuse, over 1,400 a year, and 70% of them are under the age of three.
• Millions and millions of Americans forgo health care insurance and health care because health insurance still costs so much money, years and years after the failed Obama Care legislation was passed.

Okay, I think we made the case that many, many Americans are in need of help for various problems.

One would think that American politicians would be focused on helping these folks, using the limited funds they have for the betterment of those citizens in need. But you would be wrong, at least in one state:

• Democrat Kate Brown, is the governor of Oregon.
• She has proposed a state budget for the state government that would include $2 million to sue the Trump administration over its illegal immigrant policies and another $2 million to aid illegal immigrants already in the country.
• In a recent interview on Fox News, Oregon sheriff Kenneth Matlack expressed his logical and rational reaction to this governor’s budget plans: "The thing that is difficult, the dollars are tight. And that seems like an awful lot of money that could be used for other projects in Oregon – especially on that side of the state as it relates to the homeless population. We have a great drug problem, mental health problems. And there a lot of things that those dollars could be used for.”

So sad that an American politician would use millions of citizens’ tax dollars to support illegal immigrants, technically law breakers, while the citizens paying those tax dollars are suffering from addiction, inadequate health care, poverty, homelessness, and hunger. How many Oregon citizens in need could be taken care of for $4 million, whether it was used to shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, treat the addicted, etc. Insanity.

2) We have never been fans of any of the Clintons, Hillary, Bill and Chelsea. Many times we have pointed how Chelsea’s comments were often dead wrong, out of place, and mean. So when she does the right thing from a humanity perspective, it is only fair that we recognize her actions and words and compliment her on them:

• New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait recently speculated on who should be Trump’s new chief of staff.
• Unfortunately, he decided to go sleazy low and nominated Trump’s young son, Baron.
• Specifically, he tweeted: “My darkhorse chief of staff pick: Barron Trump 1. Looks like Trump 2. Will not make Trump work 3. Cannot be tried as an adult.” 
• Pretty disgusting, a media adult picking on a young boy, pathetic.
• But Chelsea did the right thing and spoke up on how pathetic this type of bs is: “Please leave Barron Trump out of “jokes” & analyses. He’s a kid and private citizen and deserves to be left alone. Thank you.”

Class act, Chelsea, class act. Too bad the rest of the American political class does not follow her lead on decency.

3) Over the past several posts we have discussed the real possibility that Hillary and Bill Clinton might actually be held accountable for their alleged crimes and misbehavior while in office. The details of those activities are listed in the three previous posts.

Today we can add another chapter to their potential legal and criminal ways:

• The Real Conservatives Unite website reported on how three whistleblowers are talking about the financial and tax shenanigans of the Clinton Foundation.
• The three are testifying before Congress about sloppy accounting procedures, potential tax fraud, and pay-to-play schemes.
• All three have already submitted various documents to Congress,with just one of them submitting 6,000 pages of documents to the FBI and IRS.
• Congressman Mark Meadows, Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, stated there are explosive allegations within the documents.
• There is strong circumstantial evidence on the pay-to-play accusations since the instant Hillary became Secretary of State, donations from around the world to the Clinton Foundation went way up but plummeted downward once she was no longer Secretary of State and did not get elected to be President.
• For instance: “While Hillary Clinton was Obama’s Secretary of State, however, the State Department authorized $151 billion in Pentagon-brokered deals to 16 countries that donated to the Clinton Foundation – a 145% increase in completed sales to those nations over the same time frame during the Bush administration.”
• In addition, an outside investigation company alleges there is a high likelihood that the Foundation violated Federal tax law and could owe millions of dollars in tax penalties.
• The Foundation has admitted that small mistakes were made in the past but said they were like “minor traffic violations.” 

Again, innocent until proven guilty. But the accusations, whistleblowers, and circumstantial evidence just keep on coming when it comes to the Clintons.

Enough insanity for today: Another Democrat says illegal immigrants/criminals are more important than Americans in need, Chelsea Clinton does a class act, and her parents continue to be investigated for a myriad of potential crimes. More insanity to follow.

August, 2018, By The Numbers, Part 1: The Current Status of Numerical Lying By Our Politicians

On a semi-regular basis we do a post under the theme, “By The Numbers.” Under this theme we analysis the crazy ways that politicians use numbers, from making them up outright, to using them inappropriately, to using them to lie to us. The problem for them when they do that is it is so easy to show how either stupid they are or how conniving they are. 

As an FYI, as you read my analysis of the misuse of numbers, keep in mind that I have a masters degree in statistics and for most of my life have been involved in analyzing numbers and stats. Politicians misuse of numbers and statistics is taken as a personal and professional affront to me and my profession.

1) Politifact bills itself as an unbiased research organization that analyzes statements and claims by politicians and then reads out whether those statements were correct, wrong or misleading. In reality, they are a left leaning, liberal leaning fact checking group that I have exposed any number of times over the years for their misuse of data and numbers. So when they say a very liberal, almost socialist Democratic politician, is wrong in the use of her numbers, you know that the transgression is especially bad.

So let’s look at how bad Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez failed in her use of numbers during a recent interview:

• In a recent PBS interview, Ocasio-Cortez really loaded up on numbers by claiming that, “everyone has two jobs” and “people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their family."
• This statement was so wrong, so off the wall, that Politifact gave it it’s worse rating for lies, “pants on fire”: “In our review, we found many reasons why unemployment is low, and not for the overwork that Ocasio-Cortez cited. The biggest factors include strong economic confidence and the long-running economic recovery.”
• “Everyone has two jobs” was also found to be nonsense since according to the Department of Labor, 148 million employed Americans have only one job while only six to seven million Americans who have more than one job, not “everyone.”
• Thus, a very small percentage of Americans are holding more than a single job, another big lie from Ocasio-Cortez.
• But Politifact was not done, citing Bureau of Labor Statistics which says that only 310,000 American workers out of 150 million working Americans are working 70 to 80 hours a week, a percentage that is not even worth calculating: “It’s also worth noting that on average, Americans aren’t working more today than they have been in the recent past. The average number of hours worked in the private sector has hugged tightly to about 34.5 hours a week since 2006, except for a dip during the Great Recession.”

When a clearly liberal leaning fact checking organization says a Democrat lied so much that her pants were on fire, it is pretty obvious that this politician was making up statistics and fake realities as she was going along. And while politicians like Ocasio-Cortez lie, the numbers never do.

2) But Ocasio-Cortez was not the only political type making up numbers. Chelsea Clinton was also pulling numbers out of thin air at a recent conference. She was talking about abortion rights, which is certainly her right, but then tried to apply numbers that were just out of control: “Whether you fundamentally care about reproductive rights and access rights – because these are not the same thing – if you care about social justice or economic justice, you have to care about this. It is not a disconnected fact that American women entering the labor force from 1973 to 2009 added three and a half trillion dollars to the economy, right? The net, new entrance of women – that is not disconnected from the fact that Roe became the law of the land in January of 1973.”

Thus, according to her logic, the right to an abortion allowed more women to enter the workforce and contribute $3.5 trillion to the economy over a 36 year period. It is so easy to prove how this is a net loss to the country and society on a financial basis using real data as opposed to Chelsea making up numbers:

• About 50 million Americans were aborted since the Roe Vs. Wade verdict in 1973 until 2009.
• Thus, over 36 years, on average, about 1.4 million infants were aborted annually.
• Let’s split the 36 years in half and assume about 25 million Americans would have been in the workforce today if they had not been aborted.
• The average American worker earns a little over $50,000 a year in their jobs but the phantom 25 million people we are talking about above would have been younger, less seasoned, likely earning less than the average American worker.
• Thus, let’s assume the average earnings of those 25 million would be earning 20% less, about $40,000 a year today.
• Thus, multiplying the 25 million workers by their $40,000 annual salaries, these 25 people if they had not been aborted would be contributing $1 trillion a YEAR to the American economy. 
• So, Chelsea claims that the 50 million people aborted before being born allowed their moms to add $3.5 trillion to the U.S. economy over a 36 year period but we just showed that if half of those aborted had been born they likely would add $1 trillion to the economy in a single year now.
• And going forward, those 25 million people would be moving along their career paths, increasing the amount they contributed to the economy and the other 25 million souls who were aborted in the second half of the 36 year period would be entering the workforce and adding to the amount that the aborted souls would be adding to the economy for decades to come.
• And not only would the 50 million people would be adding to and growing the economy today, those first 25 million people earning $40,000 a year would be adding $150 billion a year to the cash strapped Social Security and Medicare programs.

Thus, even when Chelsea makes up numbers, they cannot match a conservative and realistic view of what those 50 million aborted souls could realistically be contributing to the economy. 

This analysis is not meant to convince anyone if aborting souls is a good economic choice or good moral choice. The analysis is meant to point out how political types make up numbers that have no basis in reality when put under even a simple logic and math calculation. Which is why whenever someone like Chelsea hypes a number, you are far better off assuming that those numbers are pure garbage because historically those numbers were, pure garbage.

3) Usually during our monthly discussion on “Political Class Insanity” we talk about the death and maiming numbers coming out of Chicago every weekend. The south and west parts of the city are infested with gang violence and gun violence despite having some of the most stringent gun control laws in the country. A few weekends ago, over 70 Chicago residents were shot and a dozen were killed over the three day weekend.

In the most recent weekend, 23 people were shot and two died as a result of their wounds just between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Ironically three people were shot at a so-called "peace event" in broad daylight. Those shot ranged in age from 15 years old to senior citizens. These are real numbers that real politicians have not idea how to cure. 

Thus, nothing new today. Political types make up assertions, facts and numbers without any basis in reality (Ocasio-Cortez), they make up numbers that are easily shown to be nonsense (Chelsea Clinton), and they stand by as the numbers show more and more people being killed for no reason. Always trust the numbers, never trust a politician.
