April, 2019, Political Class Insanity, Part 6: More Congressional Computer Hacking, You're A Racist If YOu Disagree With This Judge, and Maxine Walters Ignorance...Again

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) Several years Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz got into hot water because she allowed foreign citizen data professionals do work for Democrats in Congress. Things did not go well, with sensitive, classified information getting swiped by some of the data professionals. Wasserman-Schultz then went wild trying to prevent investigators from getting access to Congressional computers since it would prove how careless she was with government data.

Seems that scandal is lingering and growing in ways that were recently reported on the Freedom Outpost website:

Jackson Cosko, a data professional formerly working for U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan, recently admitted that he stole tens of thousands of Congressional documents, credit card numbers, Social Security numbers and the ENTIRE contents of the network drive of Hassan’s office.
It is alleged that he stole private data about other Senators to embarrass them during the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court hearings.
Cosko took a plea deal for his actions and admitted he worked with an accomplice who helped him get access to the computers to steal the data.
News reports point to another staff Hassan staff member, Samantha DeForest-Davis, as the accomplice.
Apparently, the two of them worked for months getting access and stealing the data and information.
Hassan had already been fired by Hassan for other, unrelated issues but DeForest-Davis helped him gain access to computer rooms and computers: “Deforest-Davis — identified in court documents only as SUBJECT A — allegedly repeatedly provided Cosko a key that he used to enter the office at night and install tiny devices that capture every keystroke, including passwords which were then used to access further materials, according to the statement. After Cosko was caught in the act by a Hassan staffer in October 2018, the accomplice went to the office and wiped down keyboards and mice to erase any fingerprints, prosecutors said.”
Even more disturbing is the reality that Hassan serves on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs so she probably has access to highly sensitive information, information that may have been compromised by a fired former employee.
Court documents said Cosko feared that his “termination” by Hassan in May 2018 would stymie his career, but Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas hired him soon after.

Despite being fired by a Senator, and subsequently breaking into that Senator’s office and her computers, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee actually hired Cosko to work on her computers in her office. You cannot make this insanity up. What a mess, these politicians in Congress expect us to trust them when they cannot even be trusted to secure vital government information?

2) Daniel Greenfield, writing for the Freedom Outpost website on April 14, 2019, discussed a ridiculous but dangerous position of an Obama appointed judge:

Judge Carlton Reeves was appointed by Obama.
He recently went off on this ridiculous rant: "When politicians attack courts as 'dangerous,' 'political,' and guilty of 'egregious overreach,' you can hear the Klan’s lawyers, assailing officers of the court across the South."
So if someone disagrees with a court ruling, he or she is a racist member of the KKK according to the good judge, the First Amendment be damned?
He went on to rant that Trump is trying to bring the country to a "homogenous judiciary".

This is a judge who is out of control, wanting to suppress freedom of speech by designating someone with a different opinion of someone like him as a racist.

3) So many members of Congress are so ignorant and out of touch with reality that it has kept this blog stocked with political class insanity for years:

Georgia Congressman Hank Johnson, during a televised Congress hearing, voiced his opinion that the island of Guam in the Pacific Ocean could actually tip over if too many Navy resources were stationed there.
Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee once wanted to know if a Mars rover vehicle was going to drive anywhere close to where Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi once stated that the Obama Care legislation had to get passed so that we could all find out what was in it, i.e. she wanted to enact a law before actually reading it.
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has said so many incorrect, ignorant, and out of touch with reality falsehoods that she now has a recurring set of blog posts every month.

The above is just a sample of their idiocy. Consider how goofball Congresswoman Maxine Walters recently made a fool of herself during Congressional hearings:

A bunch of bank CEOs were recently in front of a Congressional committee where the topic of student loans came up.
Walters went on a little bit of a jag, citing statistics that showed a lot of people in this country had very high student loans that needed to be paid off.
She then asked the CEOs what they and their banks planned to to do to ease the burden of student loans.
She first asked Brian Monahan what his bank, Bank Of America, planned to do.
Mr. Monahan answered: “We stopped making student loans in 2007 or so.”
She then asked Michael Corbat what his bank, Citigroup, planned to do with student loan burdens.
Mr. Corbat answered: “We exited student lending in 2009.”
Still oblivious to her ignorance, she asked Jamie Dimon of J.P. Morgan what his bank planned to do about student loans.
Mr. Dimon answered: “When the government took over student lending in 2010 or so, we stopped doing all student lending.”
When Walters FINALLY realized how ignorant she looked, she dropped the student loan line of questioning and moved on to small business.

What Walters should have know before going into a public Congressional hearing and making a fool of herself is that prior to 2010, private banks made student loans that were guaranteed by the Federal government. But Obama decided that year to cut the banks out of the student loan business altogether and have the Federal government serve students directly from a loan perspective.

But Walters and her staff were too stupid to do a little research ahead of time and educate themselves on reality. As a result, she shows another example of how ignorant and stupid many Congressional people have been and currently are, people that write, vote and enact laws affecting us all. And it appears that they do so from positions of ignorance and out of touch with reality.

Insecure Congressional computer systems, a racist judge, and Maxine Walters strikes again, making our case yet again for term limits. More insanity to follow.

April, 2019, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: American Democrats Continue To Care Little For American Citizens

Let’s get started:

1) I have come to the conclusion that most Democrats across the country value illegal immigrants more than they value the needs of Americans. Nowhere do I find Democrats advocating for more help to aid homeless, hungry, drug addicted, and other needy Americans but I see a steady focus on illegal immigrant needs. This point was severely driven home by a recent article by Warner Todd Huston, writing for the Godfather Politics website on April 12, 2019:

Democrats in the New York state legislature recent killed a proposal to provide tuition assistance for the children of veterans killed in battle defending our freedom and country.
But they did approve legislation that would give free public college tuition to the children of illegal immigrants.
The New York state Republican party properly scolded the Democrats for such heartless behavior: “Democrats just rejected tuition assistance for Gold Star families but approved it for illegal immigrants. Would these Democrats dare to look into the eyes of the children of fallen servicemen and women and say they matter less than those here illegally?”
Democrats approved $27 million for tuition for illegal immigrant kids.
This also followed legislation that gave the governor and the state politicians hefty raises in salary.
Republican Assemblyman Gary Finch: “It’s disgraceful. Soldiers who lay down their lives and make the ultimate sacrifice represent the best of us. The children they love so dearly deserve access to the opportunity and promise that is the hallmark of this country. I can’t imagine what’s in your heart when you vote ‘no’ on a bill like this.”
And Democrats cannot claim this would be too expensive since according to those quoted in the article the number of kids that would have qualified under Gold Star families is tiny compared to the number of illegal immigrants who will be getting tuition assistance.
Democrats refused to comment on their atrocious behavior.

This is how screwed up the political class has become in this country: helping out those who committed crimes and who are not citizens and likely not taxpayers while ignoring those whose family members died defending the country. Insanity.

2) Speaking of Democratic politicians who do not care about Americans, consider the words from sitting Congresswoman and anti-Semite Ilhan Omar:

Speaking to a Muslim organization, Omar referred to the horrific attacks on 9-11 as simply “some people did something.”
Yes, some people did do something, something that resulted in almost 3,000 Americans being killed and thousands being injured, hardly as simple as “some people did something.”\
Fortunately, people’s reactions were swift and direct beginning with the New York Post which ran an infamous picture of the Twin Towers exploding with her disgusting quote superimposed on top of the photo, “some people did something.”
Shortly after that photo was taken back in 2001, the article correctly points out that thousands of people were then killed, burned, maimed, or suffocated.
Also on the Post cover were the following words: “Here’s your something: 2,977 people dead by terrorism. Omar outraged the families of 9/11 victims by referring dismissively to the terrorist attacks while speaking to a Muslim lobbying group.”
Congressman and former Navy Seal Dan Crenshaw also ripped her a new one: “First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something’. Unbelievable.”
Retired NYC Fire Chief JIm Riches, whose firefighter son died on 9-11, had the following words of rebuttal to Omar’s insensitivity: “What Congresswoman Ilhan Omar said about Sept. 11 was disgraceful. She dismissed thousands of people being murdered like it was an everyday occurrence when she said ‘some people did something. We picked up the bodies and saw how gruesome it was. Those people died a horrible death. We were there for 9 months picking up body parts, pieces. I think Omar owes an apology to America. She owes an apology to the families. She came here from Somalia. She was educated here. We took care of her. And now she’s saying 9/11 was nothing? Until the time that you realize the importance of 9/11 as the worst day in American history, I call for your removal from Congress.”

So far I am not aware of any Democrat in Washington who condemned this repugnant quote, again verifying for me that Democrats do not care what Americans think, feel, or are in need of help.

3) Okay, it is looking like today is turning into a “why Democrats suck” day so let’s finish today’s political class insanity off along this theme. In Chicago, the district attorney, Ms. Kim Foxx, has gotten some grief from, well, just about everyone, when she allowed actor Jussie Smollet to get out from under 16 grand jury indictments for faking his own hate attack.

His fake attack escapade caused the city and its police department countless hours and over $100,000 worth of overtime police work trying to track down the supposedly hateful Trump supporters who attacked him. However, this effort was all for naught since Smollet faked everything.

The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has called for Foxx’s resignation in the face of such blatant disrespect for the justice system and the effort put forth by the Chicago police to do the right thing. In this country, this ability and right to call for her resignation is a right guaranteed by the First Amendment.

But rather than have an adult conversation about the whole mess, Democratic Congressman Bobby Rush came out with both guns blazing in attacking the Chicago police: “The FOP is the sworn enemy of black people, the sworn enemy of black people. The FOP has always taken the position that black people can be shot down in the street by members of the Chicago Police Department, and suffer no consequences. Let’s be clear: Kim Foxx, her battle, is with the FOP and all of their cohorts.”

My lord, so many problems with his statement and attitude:

First of all, nobody in this case “was shot down in the street by members of the Chicago Police Department,” relative to Smollet, absolutely no one.
Kim Foxx’s battle is with everyone who values the rule of law and the punishment of those guilty of breaking the law - police investigated the incident, they provided evidence of Smollet’s fakery to the district attorney, the district attorney went through the grand jury process based on evidence, the district attorney got 16 indictments against Smollet and then, after a phone call from a close Michelle Obama confidant, Foxx dropped everything with minimal impact on Smollet.
Congressman, Foxx’s battle is with a whole lot more entities than the FOP and “their cohorts.”
Oh, by the way Congressman, what are you doing about the constant murdering and wounding of black people in south Chicago, carnage that has been going on for years and thus, you must be part of that “black people being shot down in the streets” since you are certainly not part of the solution.

Another case where a Democratic politician cares less about his constituents and more about grandstanding in front of the press, much like Omar cares nothing about American history and the suffering of American families as a result of 9-11, and much like Democrats care more about illegal immigrants than they care about Gold Star family kids. More insanity to follow.

April, 2019, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: More Carnage In Chicago, Lobbying Dollars Beat Out Citizens'Needs and More

Let’s get started:

1) We often check in with Chicago, a city sitting in a state that both have some of the most stringent gun control laws in the whole country. Politicians, mostly Democrats in Chicago and Illinois, seem to think that disarming citizens of their guns rights and Second Amendment rights will make the runaway gun violence go away in the city of Chicago.

What these fools continually refuse to understand is that having a law does not mean that criminals will obey the laws, they are criminal for heaven’s sakes. So let’s see what is going on in Chicago now that the nicer spring weather has started:

According to Warner Todd Huston writing for the Godfathers Politics website, gun violence resulted in 18 citizens in Chicago getting shot in just one day, a recent Monday.
Of the 18 who were shot, three died.
Chicago has usually had 10 to 30 people shot every weekend but in just one recent day 18 were shot.
The previous weekend, 28 people were shot and five died.
Of the 28, 6 people were shot at a baby shower according to the Chicago Sun Times including two toddlers.

The carnage in the city has been going on for years and not a single city or state politician seems to have any clue on how to fix the problem except to make it more and more difficult for honest, non-gang member, non-criminals to use the Second Amendment to protect themselves.

2) According to the Pro Publica website in an article by Justin Elliot, the IRS has had a long standing dream to provide a simple, online process that would allow ordinary citizens to easily, at no cost, to file their income tax returns without the use of a tax preparation service or accountant. The dream is that a citizen could go to the website and the IRS would have already populated a lot of the taxpayer’s tax forms since they would already have access to to a taxpayer’s 1099 and W-2 forms.

Nice idea which is probably why Congress is about to enact legislation that would permanently ban the IRS from providing a free, easy service to citizens:

The pending legislation is called the deceptive Taxpayer First Act.
One of the parts of the legislation is to make “it illegal for the IRS to create its own online system of tax filing.”
Not surprisingly, tax preparation companies like TurboTax, H&R Block and others have long lobbied Washington politicians to not allow the IRS to provide a free, easy service to taxpayers since it would likely reduce their customer and revenue base.
Apparently, other countries already provide such a process to their own taxpayers.
The Free File Alliance, a deceptively named industry group consisting of tax preparation companies, “says 70% of American taxpayers are eligible to file for free. Those taxpayers, who must make less than $66,000, have access to free tax software provided by the companies. But just 3% of eligible U.S. taxpayers actually use the free program each year. Critics of the program say that companies use it as a cross-marketing tool to up sell paid products, that they have deliberately under promoted the free option and that it leaves consumer data open to privacy breaches.”
In fact, a member of the group once publicly told its own shareholders that if the IRS went forward “developing software or other systems to facilitate tax return preparation … may present a continued competitive threat to our business for the foreseeable future.”
Oh, by the way, the Democrat heading up the House Ways and Means committee which is writing the legislation just happened to receive $16,000 in political campaign contributions from Intuit and H&R Block.
Overall, last year these two companies have poured $6.6 million into lobbying efforts in Washington as it relates to IRS actions and plans.

But we should not be surprised since when it comes to providing low cost, easy opportunities and advantages for ordinary citizens who have no lobbying punch, it is always the money of big special interests that come first over citizens.

3) In Colorado at least, some citizens are trying to take back their freedoms:

According to the Conservative Alert website, Democrats control both houses of the state government in Colorado and also have a Democratic governor.
And they have busy executing a very liberal, radical agenda that includes attacking the oil and gas industry, introducing a pro-LGBT sex education bill that prohibits charter schools from opting out of the program, and a new gun control act.
But the last time the state Democrats introduced a severe Second Amendment restrictive bill two Democrats were actually taken down with recall efforts.
And Coloradans are taking this liberal agenda on again.
Recall actions are back on the burner with angry citizens circulating a petition to repeal some of these Democratic policies and possibly recall the governor.

Hopefully this effort to regain freedom and control over their lives will be successful and state citizens can go about their lives with minimal interference by politicians.

Another day of insanity: carnage continues in Chicago with no end in sight, Washington politicians continue to be driven by money and greed and not the best interests of the country, and Colorado citizens make a bid to be free again.

April, 2019, Part 3, Political Class Insanity: Liberal Hypocrisy In San Francisco, Billions For Illegal Immigrants, and Another Green Deal Gone Criminal

Let’s get started:

1) We have previously discussed how liberals and Democrats California have screwed up a once great state, especially in the bigger cities in the state. In San Francisco, the homeless problem is so bad and laws so lax that there is a major problem with homeless folks defecating and urinating out on the streets in broad daylight. This requires the city to have a staff on hand that goes around with the sole purpose of cleaning up public defecation and urination.

In Los Angeles, about 40% of the population is so poor that they qualify for Medicaid, with this dismal economic record happening in the midst of the longest economic recovery ever. In addition, the homeless and trash problem has gotten so bad that typhus, a disease associated with the Dark Ages, has made a comeback in the City of Angels.

But the really disgusting thing is that even though liberals and Democrats have created these disgusting situations, the wealthy ones living in San Francisco are unwilling to help to fix the situation:

The wealthy residents Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco Congressional district are actually collecting money in an attempt to block the city from creating a 200 bed homeless shelter in their neighborhood.
They have raised $60,000 to use as legal fees to prevent the construction of that 200 bed homeless shelter in the San Francisco area known as Embarcadero.
The effort is named the “Safe Embarcadero For All” campaign: “The planned location for Mayor Breed’s#megashelter is home to thousands of families, visited by millions of tourists and at the center of some of San Francisco’s most iconic events – including the San Francisco Marathon, San Francisco Giants stadium and on one of the busiest bicyclist paths in the city.”
The eventual goal is to get $100,000 collected for legal fees.
A Fox News investigation found that a lot of those who have already donated have previously donated to other liberal causes and Democratic politicians such as the Democratic National Committee, MoveOn, Hillary Clinton’s campaign, etc.
At least the city’s mayor had some courage to stand up to these well heeled liberals: “People want us to address the challenges on our streets and help our unsheltered residents into housing, and I am committed to doing the hard work to make that happen. But it’s incredibly frustrating and disappointing, that as soon as we put forward a solution to build a new shelter, people begin to threaten legal action.”

If you are going to cause a problem, at least have the courage and decency to try and fix the problem. I bet a lot of homeless folks could have gotten some decent meals if that $60,000 had been repurposed. Instead, liberals and the Democrats that are supported by them would rather direct funds to making sure the problem they helped create stays out of eye sight and smell range.

2) Liberal friends like to imply that I am racist and unfeeling since I would prefer that current Federal laws be enforced when it comes to illegal immigration. They all seem to think that traditional nuclear families are coming here over the border, two parents with 2.2 kids on average, a reality that does not exist. While there may be some families like that, a lot of those coming across the border are members of criminal gangs, drug cartels, human trafficking groups, and possibly terrorist organizations.

But what these liberal friends refuse to realize is that while their rosy, unreal picture of immigration may let them sleep at night, the cost of illegal immigration on American taxpayers is real, large and growing, as discussed in a recent Godfather Politics article by Frosty Wooldridge on March 28, 2019:

Illegal immigrants cost the American taxpayer $5.3 billion in medical costs every year because of 429,000 births to legal and illegal immigrant women.
According to Dr. Steven Camarota, director of research at CIS, and a new report: “Based on an analysis of Census Bureau data, the Center estimates that nationally one in 13 births is to an illegal immigrant, totaling 300,000 births a year. One in eight births is to a legal immigrant. We also find that more than half of the births to immigrants (legal and illegal) are paid for by taxpayers, including 67 percent of births to illegal immigrants.”
Legal immigrants accounted for 12.4 percent (494,000) of all births annually and illegal immigrants accounted for 7.5 percent (297,000) annually.
The 297,000 births per year to illegal immigrants are more than the total number of births to all mothers in any state except California and Texas.
The 297,000 birth to illegal immigrants are also more than the total number of births in 16 states combined, plus the District of Columbia.
The estimated 28,000 births to illegal immigrants in just the Los Angeles metro area are more than the total number of births in any of 14 states or the District of Columbia.
More than half (54 percent) of births to immigrants (legal and illegal) are entirely or largely paid for by taxpayers because the mother is on Medicaid or uninsured.
The report estimates that the cost to immigrants, both legal and illegal, is a whopping $5.3 billion every year.
In California, New Jersey, and New York, immigrants (legal and illegal) account for about one-third of all births, in Massachusetts, Nevada, Florida, Texas, Hawaii, Maryland, and Washington, immigrants account for one in four births, and immigrants account for one in five births in Virginia, Connecticut, Illinois, Arizona, Rhode Island, and Oregon.
In California, Florida, and New York, two-thirds of these births were likely taxpayer-funded.
In Illinois and New Jersey, more than half were likely funded by the public.”

Amazing and distressing numbers. These billions of dollars every year do not include the Federal food and housing benefits that go to both illegal and legal immigrants, the cost of patrolling the border, incarceration, and prosecuting of illegal immigrants, and the drug and criminal activity and the associated costs with the activities of drug cartel and gang members that come across the border unimpeded.

How many needy American citizens could be fed, housed, drug addiction treated, and job trained for $5.3 billion a year, not even counting the food stamp, housing subsidies, and other costs associated with illegal immigration? Bad, bad national priorities.

3) In previous years and posts we covered how horribly Obama’s corporate climate change initiatives had failed. Basically he ended up giving shaky companies, all owned and/or operated by Democratic operatives, billions of U.S. taxpayer money which ended up getting flushed down the toilets of such notable green energy company failures such as Solyndra, Spectra, A123, and many others.

We bring this up since Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, an inane and not too bright freshman Congresswoman from NYC is pushing the atrocity known as the Green New Deal.This program aims to make the U.S. 100% dependent on solar and wind power in a very short timeframe.

Given that it is estimated this idiocy would cost the country almost $100 TRILLION, you can imagine how staggering the fraud and waste would be. If Obama blew billions of dollars on such rinky dink projects like Solyndra, imagine how many trillions of dollars Washington would mismanage under the Green New Deal.

Which brings us to our last insanity topic for today:

Tim Brown, writing for the Godfather Politics website recently had an article that talked about Amanda Knorr of Hellertown, Pennsylvania.
In 2009, Knorr was recognized and honored by the Clinton Foundation and its Global Initiative effort.
Unfortunately, Knorr was just sentenced to thirty months in prison for operating a Ponzi scheme related to green/clean energy.
Prosecutors called it the largest green energy scam in American history in which many people “lost their life savings.”
According to NBC News out of New York: “Knorr co-founded a company called Mantria Corp., which with the help of a slick-talking Colorado "wealth advisor" raised millions [$54 million] for a supposed clean energy product called "biochar. Their pitch about producing biochar, however, turned out to be completely baked, according to prosecutors, and eventually proved to be a giant Ponzi scheme.”
In addition to the prison term,Knorr has been ordered to pay back $54 million in restitution.

Two lesson learned here. This green fraud went for $54 million. Imagine how much other fraudsters will get if trillions of taxpayer dollars are ever put forth for the stupidity known as the Green New Deal? And second, makes you wonder what types of people the Clintons hang out with if they recognized people that operated the largest green energy criminal fraud scheme EVER?

That will do it for today’s insanity: more green/climate change fraud and crime, the wasting of lots of taxpayer money on illegal immigrants, and San Francisco liberals hypocritically refuse to clean up the mess they made. More insanity to follow.
