Let’s get started:
1) It has always been my hope that in an ideal world politicians are leaders and people of outstanding integrity. That view of course is nothing more than a pipe dream as we have proven thousands of times in this blog over the years. For the most part, we have proven that American politicians are greedy, selfish, inept, and useless in resolving problems facing Americans.
To this dubious lists of traits, we recently have had to add inciting violence. Apparently, if an American does not agree with your political view, than politicians have decided it is okay to encourage and condone violence against those Americans that simply have a different opinion. Maxine Walters encouraged her supporters to get in the face of her political opponents. Democratic Senator from Montana Jon Tester stated that he wants to punch Donald Trump in the face.
We could go on with many other examples of liberals and Democrats inciting violence against others but you get the idea. This is hardly the attitude and hatred that someone with leadership and integrity traits would be showing.
To this list we now add our favorite inane politician, Nancy Pelosi. She recently stated the following call to violence: “So you have to be ready to take a punch. You’ve got to be ready to take a punch. And therefore you have to be ready to throw a punch, for the children! Throw a punch for the children.” Seriously, inciting people to punch out those that have a different opinion is the lowest of the low.
And this lady is the Speaker of the House, someone who you would expect and hope would have some class, elegance, and leadership skills. But calling on people to throw punches is just plain childish and dangerous since there are some very unstable people across this country that will actually take this advice to heart and start throwing punches. This approach to problem solving will never be productive.
2) Radical and childish Congresswomen, Ihan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, were recently denied entrance to Israel and the Gaza Strip since it was pretty obvious they wanted to use their trip as a PR stunt to bash Israel. Even when Israel relented and said Tlaib could go to Gaza to visit her elderly grandmother if she promised not to politicize the visit and keep it contained to family issues, Tlaib want ballistic and blew off the invitation. This proved that the PR stunt was more important to her than visiting her grandmother.
It is so clear that both Tlaib and Omar hate Israel and would like to see it wiped out of existence. The have a cohort in their hate, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Readers of this blog know that we have dedicated a lot of posts to the insane, stupid, false, and inept statements that Ocasio-Cortez has spewed over time. Much of her babbling has been severely anti-Israel.
In a display of self importance that is so bad it is comical, she recently pledged that she would not go to Israel until Omar and Tlabi are allowed to go also: “Netanyahu’s discriminatory decision to ban members of Congress from Israel harms int’l diplomacy. Visiting Israel & Palestine are key experiences towards a path to peace. Sadly, I cannot move forward w scheduling any visits to Israel until all members of Congress are allowed.”
Congresswoman, I am pretty sure that Israel would not let you into the country to begin with, given all of your anti-Israel hateful rhetoric. To think that this threat has any validity and will pressure Israel is beyond idiocy, it is beyond comprehension that they care what you threaten or say. Your sense of self importance is pathetic.
3) We have often talked about the criminal violence problem in Chicago. Despite having some of the strongest gun control laws in the country at both the city and state level, no amount of gun control has reduced the carnage over the years in the city. This is the latest score card of violence from over the Labor Day weekend: through just the first part of the weekend, 7 city residents were killed and 25 others were shot in Chicago.
But this should not surprise anyone, these types of numbers occur every week in Chicago with the vast majority of this violence and these wounding and killings happening in predominantly African-American neighborhoods. Which leads to three interesting observations:
- How come liberals and Democrats never seem to mention these mass shootings that happen every week in Chicago? Is it the fact that these are black Americans getting killed and maimed and thus, would the lack of interest mean that Democrats and liberals are racists?
- This violence has been going on for years which leads one to wonder whether the local politicians do not want to stop the violence or have no idea how to stop the violence since for years the violence has gone unabated. In either case their total ineptness in resolving this problem is a disgrace.
- And why should we believe the Democratic candidates for President who are calling of all kinds of gun control when gun control in Chicago has been a total failure? These are violent criminals committing these acts of murder and maiming, only an idiot, like most Presidential candidates, would believe that criminals would turn over their guns, submit to background checks, etc. They are CRIMINALS for goodness sakes.
Until we determine the root causes of this violence, gun control and other useless solutions will fail to stop the carnage despite what Presidential candidates proclaim, and their racism relative to African-Americans in Chicago will go on and on.
4) I try, and often fail, to live up to the adage: “the reason that people swear is because at that moment they are either too stupid or too uncreative not to swear.”As a golfer this is very difficult advice to follow but for the most part I try to live by this sage advice. Swearing and cursing to me is a person out of control and childish, again, too stupid to too uncreative not to swear.
Which is how I would define Beto O’Rourke, Democratic contender for the Presidency. In a recent live interview on CNN, he actually dropped the F-bomb during the interview: "To protect our kids, our families, our fellow Americans in public places. At a Walmart in El Paso where 22 were killed. In Sutherland Springs, in a Church. One or two a day all over this country. A hundred killed daily in the United States of America. We’re averaging about 300 mass shootings a year. No other country comes close. So yes, this is f$$$ed up." Note: he actually dropped the f-bomb, I cleaned it up with $$$.
Nice toilet mouth O’Rourke. A leader is someone who inspires with rhetoric and elegance, not potty mouth. By finishing of your thought with the f-bomb you discredit everything you said beforehand.
Oh, and by the way, I doubt some of your statistics to begin with:
- “300 mass shootings a year” means that every day of the week except for Sunday there is a mass shooting in this country.
- How do you define “mass shooting” because I doubt that my definition would agree that just about every day there is a mass shooting in this country.
- And while 100 people might die on average every day in this country from guns, most do not die from mass shootings: how many of these are suicides (a bad thing), how many of these are criminals shot during the commission of a crime (likely a good thing), how many of these are criminals and gang bangers killing each other (a very good thing).
Thus, clean up your mouth and clean up your statistics and maybe then we can have an adult conversation about gun violence.
That will do it for today’s insanity: a potty mouthed Texas politician, the Chicago carnage continues despite strong gun control laws, Ocasio-Cortex continues to grossly overestimate her value and significance, and Nancy Pelosi continues the liberals’ support for violence against anyone who dares to have a different opinion. More insanity to follow.
