April, 2016, Part 6, Political Class Insanity: Lying About Fuel Efficiency, Insulted By A Third World Newspaper, and Failed Diplomacy With Iran

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

It looks like our politicians have been especially insane over the past month or so let’s get started with the latest insanity from today’s American politicians:

1) Anyone who has read past posts from this blog would probably agree that politicians lie like a rug, saying anything that allows them to get their way regardless of whether or not what they say has any integrity or truth. This reality was recently proven to be true again in a March 28, 2016 article on the Heritage Foundation website by Salim Furth and David Kreutzer.

Earlier in the Obama administration, Obama and Congress got together to enact very strict auto fuel economy standards. Obama’s EPA claimed at that time that the new, stricter standards would save consumers thousands of dollars in gas costs and add only $948 to the price of a new car. 

Before going any further, remember that this Presidential administration also said that it:

• Would go through every line in the Federal budget to weed out wasteful spending. It never fulfilled that promise.
• Would reduce the annual Federal government budget deficit in half within a few years. It never fulfilled that promise.
• Would be the most transparent administration ever. It never fulfilled that promise.
• Would shut down the terrorist prison at Guantanamo Bay. It never fulfilled that promise.
• Would eventually balance Federal expenditures with Federal revenue streams. It never fulfilled that promise.
• Would unite the nation and eliminate the deep divisions within the country. It never fulfilled that promise.

We could go on but you get the idea. This administration has been full of lies and deceptions from day one. And the Heritage article cited above uncovers another massive lie:

• Three different and independent teams of analysts took a look at Obama’s and the EPA’s claim that the legislation would only add $948 to the price of a new car.
• Even after taking potential gasoline savings into account, the most modest estimate of the incremental cost of a new car was $3,800, about four times higher than what Obama claimed.
• The most radical analysis found that the new legislation adds $7,140 to the cost of a new car.
• And this legislation, according to the Obama administration, will have less than a two hundredths of a degree impact on global warming.

Another lie, another global warming scam on Americans. The Obama administration has admitted that its Clean Energy Plan will decimate the U.S.coal industry and thousands of coal miner families and lives without having any impact on the environment, that the plan is only for “show.” And the new car fuel standards will add thousands and thousands of dollars to the cost of new cars in this country with barely any impact on the environment. 

Thus, we end up paying a lot more for electricity, more welfare for now out of work coal miners, and more for new cars without having any substantial impact on the global warming issue that is probably more than likely a myth to begin with. Insanity.

2) Obama was so proud of himself when he restarted diplomatic relations with Cuba. He heralded his trip down there and at least in his mind helped to build his legacy. But days after the trip, Fidel Castro sent him a public letter that basically belittled and made fun of Obama and his trip and his shallow diplomacy. 

And the insults did not end there. The govertnment controlled Havana Tribune newspaper recently published a scathing newspaper column which refers to Obama not as the President of the U.S. but simply as a “negro” which incited rebellion in Cuba. The title of the article was even more insulting, “Black Man, Are You Dumb?” 

So the Cubans do not respect him, Putin of Russia does not respect him, the North Koreans do not respect him, many Persian Gulf nation leaders did not respect him by bypassing his personal invitation to a summit in 2015, and ISIS certainly does not respect him. Talk about an insanely failed international diplomacy and respect debacle.

3) Most of last year Obama and John Kerry played nice with the Iranians in an attempt to get a deal that would delay the Iranians getting nuclear weapons. In exchange, the Iranians would get over $100 billion in sanctions relief. Obama and Kerry tried to paint the negotiations as proof that the Iranians were tempering their terrorism efforts around the world and would be more peaceful if the agreement was signed since Iran would not be “isolated”any more from the world.

How is that working out a year later? Not so good if you know about what the U.S. Navy recently has come across. On March 28, 2016, the USS Navy ship Sirocco seized an arms shipment from Iran that was heading for terror cells across the Middle East. Weapons seized included the following: 

• 1,500 AK-47 assault rifles.
• 200 rocket propelled grenade launchers.
• Assorted machine guns.

This was the third shipment of weapons seized in the area by the U.S.Navy in the past month. So much for the Iranians becoming peace lovers and rejoining the world community, another Obama foreign affairs fiasco.

Lying about fuel efficiency legislation, insulted by a third word newspaper, and Iran spitting in the face of U.S. diplomacy. Yes, political class insanity and failures. More of both tomorrow.

Fidel Castro Slaps Down Presidnet Obama

Two days ago we discussed the reality that even Obama’s usual allies and supporters in the mainstream media had serious problems with him going to a meaningless baseball game, learning to dance the tango, and playing a round of golf while the carnage in Brussels as a result of the terrorist attacks was still being cleaned up, wounded being treated, and the memories were fresh in everyone’s mind:

Yesterday, we discussed the reality that the Obama presidency had failed on so many levels, especially foreign policy, that Forbes magazine saw fit to NOT include the President in its 2016 list of the world’s most influential leaders:

But the foreign policy failures and insults do not stop with these two posts and their examples. While in Cuba on his recent legacy building ego trip, the President did not meet with Fidel Castro, the long time leader of the Cuban nation. The administration spokesperson said that the President would have meet with Fidel if the Cuban leader felt up to it but that meeting never happened, Obama met only with Fidel’s younger brother and current leader of Cuba, Raul.

While the administration tried to paint a very positive, rosy picture on the trip to Cuba, again trying to use the trip as a historical benchmark to burnish Obama’s legacy, Fidel issued a letter shortly after the trip which surely is going to take the President down a notch or two and which really embarrassed him. In street jargon, I would call Fidel’s long epistle a basic “f-you” reproach to President Obama which tried its best, and probably succeeded, in taking a lot of shine off of the President’s ego boost over the trip.

Highlights of the letter include the following:

Castro: “We don’t need the empire (United States) to give us any presents.” In other words, we do not need the United States, we do not need the Obama administration, we do not need Obama’s visits, we are getting along quite fine on our own. Thus, this is a country with a fraction of the wealth, economy, and might of the United States and Castro just gave the President a big slap down.

Castro: Obama’s comments on the trip while in Cuba were “honey-coated” and that Cubans “ran the the risk of having a heart attack on hearing these words from the president of the United States.” In other words, you comments mean nothing to us or me, they are an insult to our intelligence.

Castro: "My modest suggestion is that he [Obama]reflect and doesn’t try to develop theories about Cuban politics.” In other words, mind your own business, you have no idea what we are all about despite your rhetoric.

Castro: “No one should be under the illusion that the people of this noble and selfless country will renounce its glory and its rights, and the spiritual wealth that is has gained with the development of education, science and culture.” In other words, we are good, we do not need your pity and the United States to be a wealthy nation and people, even if that wealth is spiritual and not materialistic.

Castro: “We are capable of producing the food and material wealth that we need with the work and intelligence of our people.” This is another f-you moment in the letter, we do not need you as much as you need Cuba….for your legacy.

Other highlights or lowlights of Castro’s letter included:

• He went over Obama’s speech line by line, doing an analysis and one sided discussion and critique of Obama’s comments as if he was Obama’s English teacher.
• He blasted Obama for seemingly ignoring the demise of native peoples in the US and Cuba, whatever that means.
• He accused the U.S. of helping South Africa get nuclear weapons which I am pretty sure is a false belief.

So, we now have Fidel Castro taking a slap at Obama’s foreign policy. Putin more or less laughs at any of Obama’s foreign policy initiatives since it allowed him to become a world wide factor again both in Europe and the Middle East. The idiot kid running North Korea continues to boast that he will blow up the United States with its nuclear weapons. ISIS has to be laughing at the Obama plan to destroy them since it is well over a year since the administration went after the terror group but it continues to extend its reach and power.

Such a legacy, somehow Obama found a way to make the leader of the strongest country in the world to be irrelevant. Sad.
