The Complete and Catastrophic Failure Of The Biden Presidency

I have been voting in Presidential elections since the 1970s. Since then, I have never voted for a Republican for President. Long ago when I lived in New Jersey, I was a registered Democrat. Thus, I did not vote for Trump and am not a Republican by any stretch of the imagination.

However, there is no  doubt in my mind that Joe Biden is, by far, the worst President, at least in my lifetime. After two years in office, he has no accomplishments to brag about and the country is much worse off than I ever thought possible along so many perspectives.

Thus, today’s discussion will simply be a list of his failures and the negative impacts those failures are having on all of us. On one hand I want to lash out at him for the damage he has done. But on the other hand, I actually feel sorry for him. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is, and has been, in the throes of significant cognitive decline since even before the election.

He gets confused easily. He cannot give any presentation without the use of a teleprompter and many times even that does not help him. He gets lost while out in public, wandering about until one of his handlers physically has to direct him to safety. He lashes out at reporters and others for no good reason. He is forgetful. He tells lies and stories that are just not true.

Having been a co-guardian of an  elderly uncle for years, an uncle that suffered horribly from dementia, it  is my non-medical opinion that Biden has gone down the same road as my uncle. Easily upset, forgetful, confused, longing to be in  familiar surroundings, etc.

Thus, it is not totally his fault he has screwed up the country as much as he has. I blame his wife, his family and political handlers for putting him through such a stressful experience. In my opinion, they are all guilty of elder abuse. Nevertheless, whoever’s fault it is, the Biden presidency has resulted in the following dire conditions in the country (listed in no particular order):

  • Inflation is roaring ahead at levels not seen in four decades.

  • Gas, utility and some food prices have increased by double digit amounts in the past two years.

  • The stock market just had its worst year since 2008.

  • The automobile sales market had its worst year in the past decade.

  • Our energy independence gained under Trump has been wasted away as Biden has terminated the Keystone Pipeline and has restricted oil drilling throughout the country which has forced the country to start buying crude oil from the likes of Venezuela, a country with a tyrant as its leader.

  • When he drained the Strategic Oil Preserve to alleviate the 100%+ increase in gasoline prices, much of the released crude oil went overseas, including China, and not into the oil stockpiles in this country.

  • For the first time ever, a President has threatened to use our armed forces against Americans who have decided to exercise their right of free speech in support of the Second Amendment.

  • Biden has used the FBI as a Gestapo-like organization to hassle his political opponents such as pro-life supporters, a pillow maker, parents who simply question the actions of their school boards, and  others.

  • His border policies have  allowed millions of illegal immigrants to enter the country which has resulted in billions of dollars of American taxpayer wealth to be used to house, feed, medically treat, and educate illegal  immigrant families and kids while millions of Americans go homeless and hungry.

  • His border policies have allowed unheard of amounts of deadly fentanyl to enter the country, resulting in skyrocketing deaths of Americans from fentanyl fueled drug overdoses.

  • His border policies have allowed drug cartels, central American criminal syndicates, human trafficking gangs, and terrorists to enter the country, resulting in actual and potential violence to American citizens.

  • He has failed to support local governments as these local governments have seen their crime rates escalate dramatically over the past two years, much of which was caused by his failed and porous border policies.

  • He has failed to curtail the political and territorial ambitions of Russia (Ukraine), China (Taiwan), and North Korea (expanded nuclear weapons capability).

  • His withdrawal of the U.S. military presence from Afghanistan has to go down as one of the most botched and failed endeavors ever undertaken by the Federal government, resulting in the unnecessary deaths of 13 U.S.  service personnel, an unknown number of unnecessary Afghanistan citizens’ deaths, and the creation of one of the most powerful armies in the world, the Taliban, by leaving behind billions and billions of dollars worth of U.S. military hardware behind.

  • When the bodies of those brave deceased service people from Afghanistan were returned to this country, Biden's behavior at their arrival was a disgrace, as he continually looked at his watch, as if he was bored and wanted to be  someplace else, when their coffins were rolled out of the plane delivering them home, dishonoring those who he had not protected.

  • His cabinet is likely one of the weakest Presidential cabinets ever assembled, whose members have  no idea how to execute their jobs, from the Secretary of State to the head of the Department of Transportation to the head of the Department of Energy, unknown, ineffective bureaucrats.

  • He has continued to enrich himself and his family members by using his political  influence around the world (Ukraine, Russia, China) to the benefit of himself and his family.

  • While a millionaire many, many times over, I have seen no evidence that he has donated his Presidential  salary to worthy causes like Trump did, keeping his salary for himself despite his lofty millionaire status.

  • Biden continued his history of racially insensitive remarks when he referred to a former black Congressman and current senior advisor as “boy” and also referred to the Japanese golfer who won the Masters golf tournament as “boy.”

  • His support and signing of the “Inflation Reduction Act” shows he has no economic knowledge at all since according to economic experts (e.g. the Wharton School and the Congressional Budget Office), the legislation will  result in, at best, a miniscule reduction in inflation and is likely to cause more inflation as it increases the Federal  debt load, it will increase taxes on businesses which will stunt economic and job growth, and will increase inflation as businesses pass those tax increase impacts along to the consumer.

  • Like Presidents before him, he has no plans, no intent, and no brain power to fix the major issues of our times: hundreds of thousands of Americans are still homeless every day, millions of Americans are still hard pressed to feed themselves and their families every day, thousands of Americans are still dying from drug addiction every month, Social  Security is still hurtling towards insolvency, Medicare and Medicaid are still hurtling towards insolvency, our public schools still continue to under educate our kids, our nation's infrastructure is still falling apart, and the national debt is rising ever higher.

Hard to argue that Biden is not the worst President in many, many years. From economic disasters to foreign affairs failures to failed and fatal  immigration policies, there is nothing he has done in two years to offset the additional hardships he has placed on American families and businesses.

And  worse yet, he apparently has  no plans or ability to fix what he has broken or to fix what are the major issues facing every American. While he invites drag queens to the White House, Americans are still homeless. While he spends almost 150 days away from the White House at his Delaware homes, American families are  struggling to feed themselves in these high inflation times. While Americans were suffering and dying due to the holiday weather, he jets off to the Virgin Islands on vacation.

It is a disgrace of a Presidency and a disgrace that his family, friends, and political  allies put him through the Presidential process as we watch his awareness of reality diminishes every day and with it, the possibility of fixing the any of nation's problems.

December, 2018, Part 3, Political CLass Insanity: Politicians' Fist Fight In Jersey, More Nonsense From Ocasio-Cortez and The Pomposity Of Obama

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) We have never been fans of politicians. They are ineffective, vindictive, petty, greedy, and useless. And now they are violent and their violence has been caught on tape:
  • The Democratic mayor of Atlantic City was recently caught on camera fighting an Atlanta City councilman.
  • And to make things worse, he was not even fighting a Republican councilman, he was fighting a fellow Democrat.
  • And the fight was in the parking lot of a casino.
So much for adult debate of the issues, let’s just duke it out with fists in the basement of a casino. Class act, an embarrassing act.

2) For many years we thought that Nancy Pelosi was the best source for absolutely inane, ignorant and out of touch statements. But in a matter of months, newly elected Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has shot up the charts as a politician with the most inane statements possible:
  • Despite having an economics degree, she does not know how to calculate the unemployment rate, an extremely simple economic concept.
  • She thinks that the Federal government has three branches of government: the Presidency, the House of Representatives and the Senate.
  • She somehow thinks that the Electoral College is somehow linked to and represents slavery.
We could go on with her insanity but will stop here. If you put her name in the search box above you can get a full array of her ignorance.

But she is the gift of gaffe that keeps on giving, considering her recent observation: she recently compared her election, and the election of a few other socialists, to Congress as being on a par with the moon landing and the 1964 Civil Rights act.

Specifically, “We've done what we thought was impossible. We went to the moon. We electrified the nation. We established civil rights. We enfranchised the country. We dig deep, and we did it. We did it when no one else thought that we could. That's what we did when so many of us won an election this year.”

Let’s review this assertion to see if it was truly as epic as she claimed:
  • She is not the first woman elected to Congress.
  • She is not the first Hispanic elected to Congress.
  • She is not the first Democrat elected from her Congressional district.
  • She won an election in an overwhelmingly Democratic Congressional district.
  • None of the others she referred to upset a Republican, they all came from truly Democratic districts.
  • At no point was she riding atop a complex rocket that could explode at any point in time, leading to an instant and fiery death.
  • At no point in time was she a quarter million miles from home.
  • At no point were the hopes and dreams of the human race riding on her success.
  • She did not electrify the nation, she did not establish civil rights, and she did not enfranchise the country.
Sorry Congresswoman, to think your election had anything close to the historical and human impact that the moon landing and the Civil Rights Act had on humanity is absolutely ridiculous. In fact, you insult the thousands and thousands of people who fought for civil rights back in the 50s and 60s, risking life, limb, and their safety. You risked nothing so please stop insulting those that were much more important and much braver than you, whether it was going to the moon or riding in the front seat of a bus in the Deep South. There is NO comparison.

3) Speaking of pathetic politicians, Obama has refused to go away and act dignified like all previous Presidents. He is so narcissistic that he constantly is showing up in the news making claims and strutting around that is so below how former President should act.

First, he tried to claim that the incredibly great economic times the country is currently enjoying is because of his economic policies, not anything Trump has done. Although none of the current trends, record low unemployment across all societal breakdowns, record government tax revenue collection because of so many people now have jobs, rising wages, low inflation, great overall national economic growth, etc., occurred during the eight years he was President, he still thinks, in his own narcissistic mind, that he somehow made it all happen, two years AFTER he left office.

In reality, Obama presided over the worst economic recovery in the history of the country despite his best, and fruitless expensive, efforts to not have this distinction. Sounds like a massive jealousy streak on his behalf.

Not satisfied sounding like a jealous little kid when it comes to the economy, he also now is trying to claim credit for the low energy prices and boom in energy production in this country, again, two years AFTER he left office:
  • His specific claim: “You know, I know we’re in oil country and we need American energy, and by the way, American energy production. You wouldn’t always know it but it went up every year I was president. That whole, suddenly America’s like the biggest oil producer and the biggest gas — that was me, people.”
  • OMG, is he kidding me, he wanted everyone to pay $5.00 for a gallon of gas to REDUCE energy consumption and production.
  • OMG, is he kidding me, he blocked the Keystone Pipeline project even though every Federal agency that looked at it said it was okay.
  • OMG, is he kidding me, he shut down oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico for half a year while disobeying a Federal judge’s order to not do so.
  • OMG, is he kidding me, he tried in so many ways to cut back oil production on Federal lands.
  • OMG, is he kidding me, he signed off on the ridiculously stupid Paris Climate Agreement that would have strangled America’s energy industry and raised energy prices significantly for Americans.
  • OMG, is he kidding me, he imposed costly regulations on fracking companies to restrict that industry, an industry that has led the United States to lead the world in reducing its carbon footprint, has helped keep gas prices low, and has broken the back of the OPEC monopoly on energy.
  • OMG, is he kidding me, Trump rolled back 70 Obama era regulations that inhibited energy production.
  • And finally, consider what former Shell CEO John Hofmeister said Obama for taking credit for America’s oil boom.“If anything, he was trying to frustrate the efforts by taking federal lands off of the availability list — putting them just, no more drilling [sic]. He shut down the Gulf of Mexico for a period of six months. [He] changed the regulations from an average of 60 to 80 pages per permit to 600 to 800 pages per permit. He also never approved the Keystone XL pipeline after dangling all the potential customers for eight years. And it was in the eighth year when he said no Keystone Pipeline.”
Another example where it is tough to say whether a politician is saying something so stupid because he actually believes it or he is saying it because he thinks we are too stupid to see through the lie. In either case, it always stinks that a politician so can be so petty or self centered….or both, which I think is the case with everything Obama says and does. More insanity still to come.

The Horrors And Destruction That Donald Trump Has Imposed On America...Just Kidding! Part 18

Before we start today’s discussion, let’s review my voting history:
  • I have never voted for a Republican for President in my life.
  • Thus, I did not vote for Trump.
  • I have rarely voted for a Republican for national office in my life.
About 21 months ago, many liberals, Democrats, and millennials were besides themselves with grief and fear because their pre-ordained queen, Hillary Clinton, was not elected President. Instead, Donald Trump was elected, an individual that these same people despised, hated, and feared, an individual they felt would endanger and possibly destroy the country and our democracy. For the past year and a half they fretted, worried and lashed out at anything or anyone that even remotely smelled of Donald Trump.

Given that Trump has been in office for over 21 months or so, I thought, that as someone who did not vote for him, it would be a good idea to review the horror, trauma, and terrible things that Trump has subjected the country to in just eighteen month’s time. This is obviously a very sarcastic comment when you take an unbiased look at what has happened during the Trump Presidency. The many previous posts we did on this topic identified over 190 good things that have happened to America and Americans since Trump became President can found by entering the phrase “the horrors and destruction” in the search box above.

Today’s format is a little different that the previous 17 posts on the subject. Rather than listing brand new Trump accomplishments, we are going to list 24 accomplishments as posited by David Reagan, son of Ronald Reagan. We have already listed many of these listed accomplishments, with a few new ones added, but it is a nice summary of some of the most significant Trump accomplishments in one place:
  1. More than 4 million jobs created since the election.
  2. More Americans employed than ever recorded.
  3. Economic growth last quarter hit 4.2 percent.
  4. Economic growth more than twice Obama's rate.
  5. Median household income has hit highest level ever recorded.
  6. African-American unemployment lowest rate ever recorded.
  7. Hispanic-American unemployment lowest rate ever recorded.
  8. Asian-American unemployment lowest rate ever recorded.
  9. Women's unemployment lowest rate in 65 years.
  10. Youth unemployment lowest rate in nearly half a century.
  11. 3.9 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps since the election.
  12. Signed the biggest package of tax cuts and reforms in history.
  13. Helped win U.S. bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
  14. Helped win U.S.-Mexico-Canada's united bid for 2026 World Cup.
  15. Opened ANWR and approved Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines.
  16. Record number of government regulations eliminated and billions of dollars saved.
  17. Obamacare individual mandate penalty GONE.
  18. Secured $6 billion in NEW funding to fight the opioid epidemic.
  19. Signed VA Choice Act and VA Accountability Act.
  20. United States is a net natural gas exporter for the first time since 1957.
  21. Withdrew the United States from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord.
  22. NATO allies are spending $69 billion more on defense since 2016.
  23. Moved U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
  24. Concluded a historic U.S.-Mexico trade deal to replace NAFTA.
For those of you that have hated on Trump since day one, and given your obvious gross error in judgment relative to Trump given the 200 accomplishments we have previously listed and the two dozen accomplishments listed above, let me ask that you to do us all a favor by implementing the following changes in your behavior and attitude:
  • Chill out, tamp down your TDS affliction. No matter how much you hate Trump on a sexist, personal basis, get over it. He is the legally and duly elected President, he will be around for a while so refocus your hatred on more constructive issues and matters. You will live a lot longer if you take your hatred out of your heart and soul and devote it to something positive.
  • I would really appreciate it if some of you would apologize to the Trump voters you have disrespected in some of the grossest terms possible over the past year. You have called millions of voters racists, ignorant, stupid, Nazis, KKK members, and other horrible names simply because you disagreed with their voting choice. No American should be called such disgusting names simply because they exercised their Constitutional rights to the best of their abilities. Plus, slandering over 60 million Americans is no way to unite the country and get it focused on the real issues facing us all.
  • More personally, I would like, no I am demanding, an apology from some of you for your slanderous and disgusting name calling because in doing so, you insulted and disrespected my sister, my family members, my friends, and my co-workers who simply voted their conscience. I will defend their right to vote anyway they wanted and will no put up with your childish and vicious venom and bile directed at them, very important people in my life.
  • And finally, I challenge you to read the following blog post, a post that shows quite clearly that it was hateful people like some of you and your silence during the Obama years that actually caused Trump to be elected. Thus, the people you hate for voting for Trump are actually looking back at you in the mirror:

If you were silent in the dozens of instances listed in this post then you were responsible for the very thing you hate: a Trump Presidency. Or put another way, a so far successful and productive Trump Presidency. 200 accomplishments in a little more than a year and a half is not too shabby despite many of you wanting both Trump and the country to fail.

Yes, Barack, You Did Have Scandals, Part 3

Usually I reserve the early days of the month to review the latest political class insanity. Insane quotes, stupid actions, unlawful activities, the nonsense of the political class is usually grouped together early each month.

But let’s get an early start on June’s political class insanity. Barack Obama has been very quiet over the past few months, almost suspiciously quiet. My theory is that he is laying low given that there is a decent chance that he weaponized the nation’s Federal intelligence agencies and resources to spy on the Trump campaign. If he knew or allowed such despicable behavior to happen it would be an incredible affront to freedom and I suspect his lawyers are telling him to lay low and shut up.

But given the ego and narcissism of Obama, he cannot keep entirely quiet and humble. He dared to speak out recently when he proudly said that his administration had no scandals. We have already killed this fantasy in a series of posts beginning with the following post back in 2016:

https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2016/10/part-1-obama-presidency-end-of-error.html

But let’s reminisce using a recent list of Obama’s “Lies, Scandals, and Quotes” that was recently printed by the Gateway Pundit website. Despite Obama’s delusion that he had no scandals, the Gateway Pundit came up with an amazing 108 things to dispute his view. Let’s review this insanity with Part 3 of additional comments that were not included in the original list from the Gateway Pundit. Note: the first 68 points reviewed can be accessed at the following links:

https://loathemygovernment.blogspot.com/2018/05/yes-barackyou-did-have-scandals-part-2.html

69. The Russians invaded Ukraine, (and Obama does NOTHING). Comment: Years later and nothing has changed, the Russians still occupy part of the Ukraine.

70. 6 million people losing their healthcare thanks to Obamacare. Comment: Covered already.

71. "The United States maintains a 'rock-solid' commitment to Israel" - Comment: Then why did Obama suggest Israel go back to its pre-1967 borders, surely a national suicide move for the country?

72. Illegal fundraising for Obamacare by Katherine Sebelius (solicitation of money from the companies she regulates) with no penal or cirminal ramifications. Comment: I believe she obviously violated the HATCH Act.

73. Katherine Sebelius' TOTAL incompetence in rolling out Obamacare. Comment: Well, it was not as if she had the market cornered on Obama Care incompetence.

74. Ex-IRS official Lerner takes 5th. Comment: And yet she and others get no jail time for weaponizing the IRS against Obama’s political opponents.

75. Failed to fund our Nation’s military. Comment: He funded the military and but funded it badly, resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars in wasted taxpayer wealth while weakening our armed forces' fighting capabilities.

76. Higher Spending and No Balanced Budget—EVER. Comment: Covered in the previous post, first Presidential administration to have four consecutive years of trillion dollar budget deficits.

77. $1.2 Trillion in Higher Taxes. Comment: After a while you lose track of how high the tax increases were.

78. Known Obama supporter appointed to investigate IRS targeting scandal.Comment: Unaware of this situation.

79. Buying clothes at The Gap: "Oh wow; credit card machines had electronic signature pads": Comment: Unaware of this situation.

80. Former Soviet Union laughs at Obama's Ukraine sanctions. Comment: Pretty sure this was not the only time Putin has laughed at Obama and the U.S.

81. Over 70% of Obamacare signups from people who LOST their insurance BECAUSE OF Obamacare in the first place. Comment: Another example of why Obama Care was such a disaster, much of its customer base was simply people who lost their insurance because of... Obama Care.

82. In Maryland: Obama celebrates 60,000 obamacare signups…. BUT 73,000 lost insurance BECAUSE OF Obamacare. Comment: See previous comment.

83. Obama did NOTHING to prevent some 150,000 people being killed in Syria, and he and the LIBERALS are silent on the matter. Comment: Another in a long line of Obama foreign policy failures.

84. On April 6th, 2014 Obama gave a speech on the 20th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda lecturing about “the world’s failure to respond more quickly” and that “we always have a choice . . . we must never be indifferent.” Comment: And yet he stood by and failed when he could have intervened to prevent the genocide in Syria.

85. Obama demands "equality" but only pays women 88 percent of what it pays men. Comment: So close!

86. "We're focused like lasers on job creation!!!" Comment: And yet had anemic job creation success over the entire length of his administration.

87. "Jobs are our number one priority!!!!" Comment: See previous comment.

88. 6 million full time US workers sustain 149 million "benefit takers" in the USA under the "Obama recovery." Comment: do not know what this means.

89. "Republicans still can’t bring themselves to admit that the Affordable Care Act is working." Comment: Republicans never had to admit that Obama Care was working because it never worked from day one: missed sign up targets, higher and higher premiums, higher and higher deductibles and co-pays, doctor and hospital networks getting more and more narrow, Medicaid imploding, national debt exploding, etc.

90. "If Republicans want to spend all their time talking about repealing a law that’s working, that’s their business." Comment: See list of Obama Care failures in previous statement

91. 169th round of golf on 4/19/14 while Putin re-assembles the USSR and Jews are being ordered to report in the Ukraine. Comment: Not the only time his tee time was interrupted with world affairs and Presidential duties.

92. Syria uses chemical weapons crossing obama's "red line" and Obama is SILENT on the matter. Comment: Another Obama foreign affairs failure, warned Syria not do do something and did nothing when Syria did it, completely undercutting Obama’s international credibility.

93. 04/21/2014 Obama delays the Keystone pipeline for the 45th time. Comment: Even though just about everyone in the Federal government recommended going forward with it.

94. China has become the #1 economy with "ObamaNomics." Comment: do not know what this means.

95. Iran WILL have a nuclear bomb under Obama. Comment: Not sure what this means but it is pretty obvious Obama allowed North Korea and Iran free reign to develop nuclear weapons during his eight years in office and yes, his nuclear arms agreement with Iran was a joke.

96. There are 92 million unemployed (may 2014) THAT IS 51% UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, including retirees. Comment: A biased and unfair comment, a lot of those 92 million people decided they did not want to work although the labor participation rate during the Obama years was the lowest since the Carter administration, reflecting very poor job creation results.

97. In 2013, under the direction of Barack Obama, The Immigration and Customs Enforcement released 36,000 illegal immigrants who had been convicted of murder, sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault, and drunk or drugged driving. Comment: Kate Steinle’s parents were not consulted prior to this insanity.

98. Incompetence at the Veterans Affairs Administration. Comment: Promised to fix the dysfunctional VA at the start of his tenure, followed up with multiple other promises to fix it and never did anything that stopped veterans from dying because of the dysfunction.

99. Almost every photo of Obama at the White house shows Obama with his feet on the historically significant antique furniture….no respect for its historical significance. Comment: No comment.

100. Over 40 veteran patients die after being placed on a hidden VA waiting list that could last for up to a year, while officials at the hospital shredded documents and faked evidence to make it seem as if waiting times were under control. Comment: Again, Obama did nothing to fix the situation despite multiple promises to fix the problem.

101. New Horizons in Presidential Dignity: President Obama does the "Shake Shack Shimmy" during his visit to the sandwich joint in Washington Friday May 17th 2014. Comment: No class.

102. May 17th 2014: Greater than Fifty million working-age Americans aren’t working, according to the labor department, and Obama pushes immigration plan. Comment: No comment.

103. "STINKBURGER"Comment: no idea what this is.

104. King Barry's "executive actions." Comment: When Obama did not get his way within the law and framework of Congress and the Constitution, he would just ignore existing laws and the Constitution and try to do whatever he wanted.

105. Russia signs a contract with Iran to build two more nuclear reactors at its Bushehr power plant as part of a broader deal for up to eight reactors in the Islamic state. Comment: Putin still laughing at Obama and the U.S. all the way to the bank.

106. New Record: Price of Gas Above $3 Gallon for 1,245 Days. Comment: Cannot ignore the numbers. See Keystone Pipeline discussion above.

107. Incomprehensible!! 5-30-14 ILLEGAL negotiation with terrorists: 5 gitmo Taliban terrorist leaders ILLEGALLY released for one American ARMY DESERTER: BOWE BERGDAHL. Comment: Adding insult to injury, Obama hosts the parents of the deserter Bergdahl in the White HOuse but ignores the families of those brave soldiers who died or who were wounded looking for deserter Bergdahl in Afghanistan.

108. Obama negotiates with terrorists to release an army deserter because "we can't leave an American behind" but does nothing for the Marine being detained illegally in Mexico, less than 1 mile away. Comment: Nice example of where Obama's priorities were, a deserter has precedence over a real soldier.

So, that should do it. Over 100 examples of real and potential scandals from the Obama administration. And it is not comprehensive since we already know that Obama signed the assassination orders to kill American citizens without due process, that he ignored a judicial ruling relative to oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, that when the rest of the world went to Paris to support France’s efforts to resist Islamic terrorism after the Paris terrorist attacks Obama stayed home, sending John Kerry and James Taylor afterwards to lamely sing “You Have A Friend,” he allowed his Secretary of State (Hillary Clinton) to break the law by using a non-secure email server in her house, he allowed a top national security person (James Clapper ) to lie to Congress regarding Fourth Amendment violations, etc.

The biggest scandal was that the Obama Presidency was a total failure: morally, legally, economically, and patriotically.

March, 2015, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Watching Porn, The Financial Struggles of Congressmen, Keystone LIes, and More

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time once again to review the latest insanity and ineptness from the American political class. We do this review every month to prove our hypothesis that we are currently being served by the worst set of politicians in the history of our country.

They waste hundreds of billions of dollars of our wealth every year, they never resolve any of the major issues facing Americans today, they continually put their foot in their mouth with their idiotic statements and positions, and they operate government functions that are bloated and ineffective in delivering quality service to taxpayers. And worse of all, they have rigged the country’s elections processes so that their election and subsequent re-elections are almost guaranteed to ensure their mediocrity continues.

To review the past examples of political class insanity just type in “political class insanity” in the search box above.

So lets get started on what is now a multi-day review of their latest incompetence and insanity:

1) Yesterday, we discussed the rare good news coming out of the Washington political class, namely that two Congressmen are trying to get legislation passed that would terminate the traditional pension benefit for Congressional members. Since most the nation's workers no longer have a chance at a traditional pension, it is not fair for those same taxpayers to pay to subsidize the pension benefits of Washington politicians. This is especially true when these people are paid more than three times the median annual household income of regular Americans.

However, even given how good these intentions are, passage of such legislation is not a guaranteed thing, especially when viewed against recent selfish and inane comments of Nancy Pelosi. As background, know that some members of the Department of Homeland Security may have to go without pay for a little while until Congress gets its act together to agree on some pieces of legislation related to the un-Constitutional gambit of Obama to unilaterally give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

This postponement of wages would obviously place a financial burden on those working to defend our borders, no doubt about that. But Pelosi goes on to claim that even Washington politicians could not survive without a regular paycheck: “I don’t know about you, but I think almost everybody I know cannot live without having our paycheck on time – members of Congress even.”

Really? Those people that are paid over $170,000 a year with great benefits would have trouble surviving? The fact that Congressional millionaires would have trouble surviving if their paychecks were postponed? Keep in mind that the Pelosi household is worth well over $20 million and she has the nerve, the gall to make such an outrageous statement?

If this is indeed the reality in Washington, then the people serving us in Congress are the most pompous in the world or the most foolhardy and economically ignorant when it comes to doing their household budgeting. And the last thing the nation needs now are pompous and ignorant people in charge.

The video of her idiocy can be viewed at:

2) Often our review of political class insanity is to show how even though Americans are paying more taxes than any other time in the history of the country, they are getting very poor service from government entities in return for such high taxation. A recent report and study from the Post Office's Inspector General shows how poorly the U.S. Postal System (USPS) is doing relative to delivering friendly and efficient service:
  • The overall conclusions of the Office of the Inspector General work is that Americans think the Post Office is failing to deliver on customer service.
  • And give that the USPS continues to preside over a declining market and business model, it handled 5.2% fewer retail transactions in 2014 than the year before, one would have hoped that they would make up for their declining revenue and customer base with superior customer service.
  • Negative customer feedback about retail experiences in local post offices increased 8.7% in the most recent analysis with overall satisfaction below 80% compared to a customer satisfaction target of 90%, which is not that great even if it was attained.
  • According to the audit, Americans feel that Postal Service workers are coming up short when it comes to treating people as valued(24.9 percent), being pleasant (21.5 percent) and friendly (20 percent), as well as treating customers with courtesy (20.5 percent) and respect (20.3 percent).
More taxes, more expense for less service and satisfaction, just another typical Federal bureaucracy coming up short in serving the taxpayers who make their existence possible.

3) Several years ago we reported how various news media had discovered that many Federal employees were spending their days, and taxpayer wealth, using their government computers and networks to watch, enjoy, and download tremendous amounts of pornography during work hours. And unfortunately, many of them were never fired for behavior that would be a sure fire job termination in the private sector. Those reports can be read at the following link:

Several years later it appears that life is still good for porno addicts in the Federal government workforce. According to a recent CBS report from early March, 2015:
  • The CBS report focused on the reality that even if a Federal employee is caught doing porn on the job with government equipment, it is almost impossible to terminate the employment of that employee.
  • Specifically: "At the Environmental Protection Agency, red tape is preventing the removal of a top-level employee accused of viewing porn two to six hour as day while at work since 2010.”
  • Specifically, the investigators found 7,000 pornographic files on his computer, caught him red handed watching porn on his computer and still could not get him fired.
Now we know why the Federal government continues to not provide efficient service in a timely and cost effective manner: a lot of them are still watching porn on the taxpayer’s dime, years after the problem was first identified.

4) Many, many times we have pointed out the lies and deceptions of this President and his administration. From "if you like your insurance policy you can keep your insurance policy” to “we will cut the annual Federal government deficit in half,” the lies and deceptions have been coming fast and furious. For those of us that take integrity and honesty seriously in our lives, at some point long ago we stopped believing anything this President said since we were much more likely to correctly assume a deception than to assume he was telling the truth.

It seems that he recently told another whopper and this time the usually Obama-friendly newspaper, the Washington Post, gave him four Pinocchios, the highest level of lie status possible. Specifically, on February 26, 2015 in an interview on WDAY in Fargo, North Dakota, the President uttered the following quote: “I’ve already said I’m happy to look at how we can increase pipeline production for U.S. oil, but Keystone is for Canadian oil to send that down to the Gulf. It bypasses the United States and is estimated to create a little over 250, maybe 300 permanent jobs. We should be focusing more broadly on American infrastructure for American jobs and American producers, and that’s something that we very much support.”

But as the Post correctly points out with its highest lie rating, the Keystone oil will not “bypass the United States:”
  • While all of the Canadian crude will be sent to the U.S. Gulf coast refineries, much of it will be turned into regular gas and diesel fuel with current trends and demand indicating that at least half of the refined products will stay in the U.S. for our use.
  • An analysis by IHS Energy, a consultant firm for energy companies, estimates that the Canadian crude will be a good substitute for declining imports of heavy crude oil coming in from Latin America, with IHS estimating that 70% of the refined Canadian oil will stay in the U.S.
  • Now, some environmentalists may believe that IHS is biased towards the oil companies it consults with but their findings are consistent with the findings and conclusions of Obama’s own State Department, which had to do their own analysis since the pipeline affects more than just the U.S.: “Comments were received throughout the review process speculating that WCSB heavy crude oil supplies carried on the proposed Project would pass through the United States and be loaded onto vessels for ultimate sale in markets such as Asia,” the State Department said. “As crude of foreign origin, Canadian crude is eligible for crude export license as long as it is not commingled with domestic crude. However, such an option appears unlikely to be economically justified for any significant durable trade given transport costs and market conditions.”
Thus, the President is disagreeing with his own administration’s findings. Plus, who cares if it only creates a few hundred jobs, it is a few hundred, good paying American jobs that do not exist today and it will not cost the taxpayer anything. In reality, most reputable sources, i.e. those that do not lie on a regular basis, estimate that thousands of temporary and permanent jobs will be created by the endeavor which will help make us more energy independent.

And for those who think that not building the pipeline will improve the environment, consider this: that Canadian oil is going to be used somewhere in the world. Whether it is used in this country with our stricter pollution controls or shipped overseas (e.g. China) where pollution control is certainly not as high a priority, that oil will be used somewhere, somehow regardless of the pipeline fate.

That will do it for today's insanity. Today we learned that:
  1. At least according to the usually Obama-friendly Washington Post, Obama received the highest rating of lie possible, a lie that disagrees with his own State Department, regarding the Keystone pipeline.
  2. Porno viewing by Federal government officials and employees is still a big issue and one that has not been resolved as of a CBS report.
  3. The United States Post Office continues to under serve and overcharge American, delivering poor customer service in the process.
  4. And despite being paid more than three times the median household income in this country, over $170,000 a year, many Congressional members, according to Nancy Pelosi are barely living paycheck to paycheck.
More insanity tomorrow.

November, 2014, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: Bingo Busting in Mississippi, Killing the American Dream, and Keystone Pipeline Insanity

It is the start of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity that has been dumped on us by the worst set of politicians to ever hold office in the history of this country. From wasteful spending to bad priorities to general ineffectiveness, the insanity rolling out of Washington and other political centers and government around the country seems to be accelerating as the idiocy of our political times increases.

Last month we set a record by needing almost two full weeks of posts to get all of the insanity documented and discussed. Given what I see today, we will be hard pressed not to get close to or exceed that record of insanity this month. It keeps getting worse and worse and the effectiveness of the political class gets less and less.

The first post in this month’s insanity can be accessed at:

1) It never ceases to amaze us at how much and in so many varied ways that politicians and governments at all levels can waste taxpayer wealth, especially when there are so many other more important priorities and needs facing Americans. Consider a recent article by Steve Wilson writing for the website, watchdog.org.

Consider the track record of a Mississippi law enforcement organization:
  • The Mississippi Gaming Commission’s Charitable gaming Division employs eight dedicated law enforcement agents.
  • This division is responsible for regulating the state’s…wait for it… bingo industry.
  • Those eight agents have made four arrests since 2003 or one arrest about every three and a half years.
  • The good news is that the agency used to have twenty full time law enforcement agents to make sure bingo games do not break the law.
  • Now, the agency has issued 279 citations and collected fines of $176,672 since 2003, according to Rodney Smith, division director II with the Charitable Gaming Division. But that only averages out to about 25 citations and about $16,000 in fines per year.
  • If we assume that each of those 20 law enforcement people earn $40,000 a year in salary, than the agency is paying out about $800,000 a year in salaries just to collect $16,000 in fines, a horrible pay back on taxpayer dollars. And that $800,000 does not include overhead expenses, benefits, etc. making the payback even worse.
  • At $40,000 a head in annual salary, the cost benefit ratio is about 50, meaning that for every $50 that Mississippi taxpayers put out for this agency, they get back one dollar for their efforts.
Talk about insane priorities.

2) Five years after the recession has ended, after five years of the Federal Reserve printing money to prop up the economy, over five years after the Obama administration spent over $800 billion to stimulate the economy, the political class has still not learned how to manage and support a growing economy. Food stamp enrollment is still sky high, long term unemployment is still high, the real unemployment rate is still over 10%, and household incomes have DROPPED during the post recession period, an unheard of historical event.

But things are probably worse than these top line numbers show. Consider a recent USAToday article by Erika Rawes that showed how the middle class could longer afford the following six luxuries and necessities of life:
- Vacations - A recent Statista survey found that this year 54% of people gave up purchasing big ticket items like TVs or electronics so they can go on a vacation. Others made financial sacrifices like reducing or eliminating trips to the movies (47%), reducing or eliminating restaurants meals (43%), or avoiding purchasing small ticket items like new clothing (43%) just to afford a vacation. Traditionally, middle class households did not have to make financial sacrifices just to take a vacation.

- New cars - Historically, middle class families could easily afford a new car every once in a while by choosing from a host of cars and brands that offered moderately prices cars for moderate income people. However, Interest.com recently analyzed the prices of new cars and trucks, as well as the median incomes across more than two dozen major cities.

Unfortunately, they found that new cars and trucks were now not affordable to most middle-earners: "Median-income families in only one major city [Washington DC - no surprise there] can afford the average price Americans are paying for new cars and trucks nowadays." As of 2013, new cars are priced at $32,086, according to the study which is about 60% of the median household income in this country.

To pay off debt - Once reason Americans cannot afford vacations and new cars as easily as in the past is because the heavy debt load they are carrying, meaning that a lot of household income is going to paying off debt and not other parts of the economy. Consider the findings from Debt.org: "More than 160 million Americans have credit cards. The average credit card holder has at least three cards. On average, each household with a credit card carries more than $15,000 in credit card debt."

This is just credit card debt. It does not include mortgage debt, car financing debt, student loans, health care debt, etc. We have so much debt that, just like vacations and new cars, we cannot even afford our debt any more if you believe the work and analyses done Money-Zine.

Money-Zine evaluated household debt growth and income growth over the past few decades and found that "back in 1980, the consumer credit per person was $1,540, which was 7.3% of the average household income of $21,100. In 2013, consumer debt was $9,800 per person, which was 13.4% of the average household income of $72,600. This means debt increased 70% faster than income from 1980 through 2013."

Emergency savings - it used to be that households had enough money left over every month to have a “rainy day” fund inc ase expenses popped up unexpectedly or there was job loss. The rule of thumb back in those days was to have enough cash saved up to survive a six month financial crisis.

However, today it seems like most households cannot even find enough left over funds to save for any kind of emergency. A Bankrate survey found that:
  • Only around one out of four households have six months of emergency money saved.
  • Another one-fourth have no emergency savings at all.
  • The remaining household have a small to moderate amount of savings, but not enough to cover six months of expenses.
- Retirement savings - Social Security was never intended to be a person’s sole source of financial support during retirement. Middle class workers were encouraged to also set aside money for their retirement. However, the reality today is that nearly half of those who don't save for retirement say it's because they simply don't have the money.

Even worse, around 20% of people near 65 have not saved anything for retirement at all, and the majority of people, 59%, think that they don't have enough money saved for retirement.

- Medical care - Needless to day, many middle class Americans can no longer afford medical care either:
  • A Forbes article published data indicating that middle class workers in large companies "face nearly $5,000 in premiums, co-payments, deductibles and other forms of co-insurance."
  • A study by Feeding America found that a 66% of households say they have had to choose between paying for food and paying for medical care and that a depressing 31% say they have to make that choice each and every month.
  • The Federal Department of Health and Human Services report that about 108 million people in the U.S. have no dental coverage and even those who are covered may have trouble getting the dental care they need because dental health insurance is too expensive or does not fully cover more expensive needs.
  • According to the Centers For Disease Control, nearly one in four American adults between the ages of 20 and 64 have untreated dental caries.
The American middle class used to be the American dream. Now that dream is more of a nightmare with vacations, cars, medical case, debt management, etc. being more of a luxury than the end product of the American dream. That is what happens when we trust our economic fates to ill suited and economically ignorant politicians and the insane and ineffective economic policies they implement.

3) One last piece of insanity for today. There has been much debate and discussion on whether to build the so-called Keystone Pipeline that would bring crude oil out of western Canada down into U.S. Gulf refineries. Today is not a discussion on the merits and downsides of building such a pipeline but how screwed up the decision making process is in Washington today.

Six years have gone by as the Federal government has done study after study to determine whether or not to build the pipeline. This has not included any construction time or progress, this is just the time to examine and study the permitting process.

To show you how screwed up Washington is from a functionality perspective, the Heritage Foundation recently compared six major projects that were COMPLETED in less time than it has taken the Keystone Pipeline to be studied:
  • It took four years and 600,000 rivets to build the Golden state bridge. Since its construction, over 2 billion cars have crossed the span.
  • It took five years to build the Hoover Dam that at its base the dam is as thick as two footballs fields measured end-to-end.
  • It took one year to build Boeing’s Everett factory which the Guinness Book of World records claims is largest building in the world by volume.
  • It took two years to build the Pentagon which housed 30,000 people during World War II and which has 17 miles of corridors.
  • It took two years to build Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport which covers 4,700 acres and is the largest air passenger terminal complex in the world.
  • It took two years to build Beaver stadium in Oregon which is now the second largest stadium in college football.
Six major and important structures built in far less time it has taken he Federal government to study a simple pipeline project.

Is it any surprise that nothing ever gets accomplished by the political class and the government bureaucracy it operates when a simple environmental study takes so long to complete? No wonder we are still losing the war on drugs, our public schools are still failing, our borders still leak, we still do not have a national energy policy and strategy and why yesterday we found out it took 17 years for the Federal government to develop a DRAFT set of regulations concerning Tic Tac mints. Insane and pathetic.

Bingo enforcement overkill, just the plain killing of the middle class American dream, and overkill analysis of a simple pipeline. Such insanity that does not end today.
