April, 2016, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Out Of Control National Debt Management, Scamming Detroit Schools, Hillary's Transparentcy Problem and More

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

It looks like our politicians have been especially insane over the past month or so let’s get started with the latest insanity from today’s American politicians:

1) One of the most important topics we cover in this blog is the ticking and growing time bomb that is the national debt. This threat has accelerated under Obama, likely to double from about $10 TRILLION when he took office to about $20 TRILLION when he leaves office. In other words, his administration will run up the same amount of Federal government debt as all previous administrations COMBINED!

Let’s look at how bad things are based on the 2017 analysis by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO):

The most telling chart in the CBO analysis is titled “Spending Is The Problem,” in other words, no matter how fast the economy might grow, no matter how high tax rates are raised, etc., spending is the issue, nothing else.
By 2020, the national debt level held by the public will get to $23.6 TRILLION, equal to 85.6% of annual GDP, a dangerously high level.
As an illustrative example, any American kid born in 2016 immediately has a per capita debt burden of $42,537 on day one of their life.
But by age 18, that same poor soul will have seen his or her debt burden grow to $68,545 and by age 34 that debt burden will be $116,904.
Thus, if the political class cannot get their wasteful spending under control, someone born today will see their part of the national debt more than triple in the first 34 years of their life.
A major driver of the national debt crisis is that the political class has refused or does not know how to get Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security on a solid financial basis.
Just those three programs will cost the Federal government almost $2 TRILLION just in 2016.
But those programs are just one of thousands of government programs that waste billions of dollars on duplicate programs, fraud, and downright unnecessary expenditures.
Recent news reports reported that the Federal government spent a whopping $125 billion in 2015 in so-called “improper payments,” payouts to people and organizations that did not deserve them.

Poor budget management to say the least. If an individual or family spent like the Federal government relative to their income, they would have declared bankruptcy long ago. At this rate, the same fate awaits the whole country, and probably pretty soon.

2) As we have often said, government and political corruption and criminal activity exists at all levels of government, not just the Federal level. Consider the insanity recently brought to light in Detroit:

Federal authorities have filed criminal charges against more than 12 school principals in the Detroit school system as a result of they allegedly taking part in a kickback scheme.
The kickback scheme involved the principals falsifying fake school supply orders at the same time that the Detroit school system was hurting for money.
Detroit businessman Norman Shy supposedly paid $908,500 in payments to the school principals in return for receiving a series of Detroit Public Schools (DPS) contracts to provide about $2.7 million in school supplies.
According to court papers, the principals submitted fake orders for supplies from Shy that were never delivered.
Cara Flowers, assistant superintendent for Detroit’s special education department, is accused of making the most money in the kickback scheme, a whopping $324,000.
The alleged kickbacks included cash payments, gift cards, and free home repairs.

In a nice piece of irony, one of the charged principals, Ronald Alexander, told a sad story on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show" about his crumbling school building, which resulted in DeGeneres giving him a $500,000 donation for the school. This donation was billed as the biggest donation she had ever made, while at the same time he was allegedly taking kickbacks in his position of principal.

Fortunately, if guilty of these infractions, these government employees got caught. Unfortunately, there are probably untold thousands of government employees and politicians running similar scams that have gone undetected and unpunished.

3) In any walk of life, the first step in resolving a problem, any problem, of life is to properly identify the root cause of a problem. Until that identification is done, you really have no good chance at resolving it. Such has been the case of Obama relative to the fact that radical Islam factions are the cause of almost every terrorist gang, organization, and attack across the globe. His refusal to even utter the words, “radical Islam," precludes his administration from ever resolving the terrorist threats caused by radical Islam.

In fact, he and his administration have carried this denial or reality to such extremes that they are now censoring other world leaders who actually admit that radical Islam is a root cause of much terrorism. French President Francois Hollande, at a press event with Obama, stated that “Islamic terrorism,” is at the “roots of terrorism.” He is certainly involved in this war on terror since 130 of his countrymen and women were murdered by an ISIS terror attack late last year.

This whole discussion was captured on video. However, according to MRCtv.org, when the administration issued the video to the public, the clip of Hollande and his translator frankly discussing Islamic terrorism was edited with a censored version that completely cut out the French President’s remarks. Thus, Obama does not even want other world leaders, including world leaders who have suffered as a result of Islamic terrorism, to even mutter those words.

An insult to the French leader, the French people, and any rational human being that knows what is really going on. ISIS must be laughing their sides off knowing that the President of the United States cannot even mutter the words that they are living and breathing everyday, Islamic terrorism. Denial of the root cause of a problem almost always results in the inability to resolve those root causes. Such is the case of the rise of ISIS and Obama’s denial of reality, a reality that now he does not even want others to admit to.

4) It is no secret that the Obama promise to “operate the most transparent Presidency ever” was a cruel joke and lie on the American people. In fact, as we have pointed out so many times in this blog, his administration has likely been the most opaque and vindictive of all time. And according to a major newspaper in Wisconsin, his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is not much better than him.

Just before the just completed Presidential primary election in Wisconsin, the editorial board of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote about Hillary’s lack of transparency: “Her horrible track record on transparency raises serious concerns for open government under a Clinton administration–so serious we believe they may disqualify her from public office...Clinton may have violated national security laws by making top secret documents vulnerable to hackers and available to people without proper security clearance. The FBI and Justice Department must be free to fully investigate and, if warranted, prosecute Clinton in this matter without any political interference from the Obama administration."

The board went on to say: “In addition, regardless of Clinton’s excuses, the only believable reason for the private server in her basement was to keep her emails out of the public eye by willfully avoiding freedom of information laws. No president, no secretary of state, no public official at any level is above the law. She chose to ignore it, and must face the consequences.”

And finally: “Clinton has a long track record of public service but an equally long record of obfuscation, secrecy and working in the shadows to boost her power and further her ambition. We encourage voters to think long and hard about that record when choosing the next president.”

Obfuscation, secrecy, shadows, avoiding laws, horrible track record, disqualify her, etc. Looks to me like she is just continuing to do what her boss, the President, has been doing for the past seven plus years. And yet many Americans think that she should be the next President of the country. Now that is true political class insanity.

We continue to plow through the latest insanity from the American political class and we are not close to finishing up this month’s update. Today we see that a leading candidate for President is anything but transparent and honest according to a major newspaper in Wisconsin, Obama continues to try and change reality by denying that it is Islamic radicalism that is causing almost all of the terrorism in the world, as if Detroit does not have enough problems, now we see high ranking government employees, school principals, allegedly scamming the local taxpayers, and as always, politicians' management of the Federal budget continues to lead to the insolvency of the entire nation. More insanity tomorrow.

Aprtil, 2016, Part 4, Political CLass Insanity:Americans Leaving The Country, EPA Destructive Idiocy,and GM Still Owes Us $10 Billion

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.It looks like our politicians have been especially insane over the past month or so let’s get started with the latest insanity from today’s American politicians:1) Obama keeps saying that things are great in America despite the reality that over 45 million Americans are receiving government food assistance, the labor participation rate is at 40 year lows, economic growth continues below the historical trend rate, over 14 million Americans cannot find a job or can only find part time work, the national debt will likely double under his watch which will burden future generations’ economic well being, the threat of terrorism growths more dangerous every day, a large majority of Americans think the country is on the wrong track, freedoms and liberties are being crushed by the political class, and no major issue facing America ever gets resolved. The gap between his perception and the reality of America today is mind boggling. But let me throw out another mind boggling statistic that shows how depressed Americans are. According to an analysis from CNNMoney, more Americans than ever are leaving America forever. 4,279 Americans cut their ties with the country in 2015, up 20% in just one year. This reality is 18 times higher than the number of Americans who renounced their citizenship in 2008, just before the onset of the Obama Presidency.One theory is that the high taxes and the complexity of filing taxes with the IRS, especially Americans who are living and working abroad, have frustrated some Americans so much that they have just decided to get away from this complexity of tax compliance. So rather than getting tax money from these likely wealthy Americans by making filing taxes easier and less expensive to pay, the Washington political class is forcing these Americans to go elsewhere in the world, taking ALL of their taxable income with them. The trend of Americans getting out is on a steadily increasing trend year over year:

How bad is the current set of politicians that their inability to have a coherent and fair tax system is actually causing more and more Americans to give up the citizenship of their country? Sad and pathetic.2) Parts of Kentucky and West Virginia are turning into third world economic basket cases because Obama and his administration have been trying to destroy the coal industry in this country from day one of the administration. Under the shaky and theoretical assumption/myth of man made global warming, this administration has pushed through regulations that have dampened the use of coal in this country and caused massive unemployment growth in the coal mining regions of Kentucky and West Virginia.But at least these newly unemployed Americans can take satisfaction that the destruction of their livelihood and lives helped save the planet. But did their sacrifices save the planet? Not according to the head of the EPA, Gina McCarthy. The EPA’s latest coal killing effort, was meant to show “leadership” in the world vs. actually curbing man made global warming, according to McCarthy. That’s right, we are ruining people’s via the EPA for no reason and no impact on the environment.And even this "show" only objective is coming up far short. According to a Congressman, stated during McCarthy’s Congressional hearing when she said the plan was just for show: “But even then no one is following us. Since that Paris accord China has already announced that they’re going to put up 360 [coal plants]. India has announced that they’re going to double their use of coal since the Paris accord.”But 360 new coal plants is just the start. China plans on using more coal in its energy future and India has said that it will DOUBLE its coal usage within four years. Thus, the two countries that Obama was trying to impress with our citizens’ sacrifices, China and India, have basically said go away, we will use more coal and build more coal plants regardless of what the U.S. does. And while our lesser use of coal will be wiped out by the much higher use of coal by the rest of the world, thousands of American families and workers have their lives destroyed for nothing. How insane is that?3) We have not talked about the taxpayer bailout of General Motors lately but it recently has popped up in the news. Back in the midst of the Great Recession, the Washington political class gave General Motors (GM) tens of billions of dollars and additional tax breaks in order to prevent them from going through a traditional bankruptcy proceeding. Keep in mind that when the Federal government finally got out of the bailout arrangement with GM, the American taxpayer was out over $10 billion.Now, fast forward to today. Based on the latest government filings by the company, as reported by Elizabeth MacDonald of Fox Business, while GM makes nearly all of its profits in the U.S., in 2015, GM paid only $5 million in Federal income taxes. If you add up all of the taxes GM paid to all levels of government in this country in 2015, the ended up paying nothing in taxes despite record sales and high profits. But GM, according to government filings, paid $908 million in taxes in China despite getting most of its sales and profits from the U.S. Now, I have always advocated for Americans and American businesses to be taxed at the lowest rate possible since the American political class wastes so much of our tax money now. But really, something is wrong, and it is probably called crony capitalism, when politicians can give a private company tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer wealth, allow that company to not pay back over $10 billion of that wealth despite being a profitable enterprise, so much so that it can pay a foreign government almost 10% of what it still owes the American taxpayer in one year. How insane is our tax code and the idiots that operate it?Oh, and to add to insults to injury, recall that when the GM bailout package was put forth, Obama promised it would not cost taxpayers “a dime,” another Obama lie or deception. Also, instead of investing in American workers and American factories, GM recently announced that it will be the first auto maker to import and sell one of its Chinese made SUVs, in this country later this year. Pathetic.That will do it for today’s insanity. A political class that throws taxpayer wealth at its corporate cronies with no great return on those funds, an EPA and administration that kills industries and people’s livelihood for no reason, and Americans continue to get so fed up with the mess that our politicians have put the country in that they are willing to renounce the citizenship of their birth and their lives. April, 2016, Political Insanity, Part 3: Liberal Hypocrisy, Non-Transparency Of Obama, and The Failed War On Drugs Is Srtill Failing

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

It looks like our politicians have been especially insane over the past month or so let’s get started a day early with the latest insanity from today’s American politicians:

1) Democrats and liberals always seem to be at the front of the line when it comes to political correctness and claiming that they are more sensitive to the needs of minorities. So it is especially fun when we find out that they can be as prejudiced and non-politically correct as those they accuse of the same fault.

Such is the recent case of religious insensitivity of Nevada Senator Harry Reid. According to the Washington Post, Reid supposedly urged a Muslim Democrat from his home state to terminate the Muslim’s Congressional campaign during a private meeting in 2015.

Jesse Sbaih, who came to the U.S. from Jordan 29 years ago, says Reid told him drop out of the Congressional race since a “Muslim cannot win this race.” According to Sbaih: “I did not feel that this was an issue. They made it an issue. I just turned 40. Been in this country for 29 years. And it’s just absolutely shocking that this occurred.” As proof, Sbaih gave the Post emails and text messages sent during the time of the meeting. In one exchange, Sbaih told a Reid ally that he was “profoundly disheartened and saddened that the Democratic Party is refusing to accept a candidate like me because of my religion and ethnicity.”

A Reid spokeswoman, of course, denied the allegations and called Sbaih a liar. Imagine what would have happened if a conservative or Republican had told a Muslim not to run for office because of his or her religion. The political correctness police and critics would have been in full howl. And since this story comes from the Washington Post, which is usually a strong media ally of anything Democratic, I would tend to believe that Sbaih is telling the truth and the Reid spokeswoman is not. Insanely hypocritical.

2) Jake Tapper is a CNN news reporter and one of the few people on CNN that actually has the nerve to question Obama and other Democrats when they are hypocrites. The Washington Free Beacon recently reported on how while Obama has been lecturing the media and press on how to do their jobs, Tapper correctly points out that the press’s job has been so much more difficult during the Obama administration because of how non-transparent it is. This non-transparency is in direct opposition to Obama’s campaign promise to operate the most transparent Presidency ever.

Details from the article include the following observations and realities:

Justin Elliott, a Pro Publica reporter, stated earlier in March: “In fact, FOIA [Freedom Of Information Act] has been a disaster under his watch.”
Elliot went onto say that as a result of a FOIA lawsuit, government documents have been uncovered that prove the Obama administration aggressively lobbied against making the transparency of government operations even more transparent.
In 2015, the Associated Press found that the Obama Presidency had set a record for censoring or denying access to information to government information requested under FOIA.
The AP also found that the backlog of unanswered FOIA requests across all government entities had risen by 55% to more than 200,000 unfulfilled requests.
According to the article, another recent analysis found that the administration set another record of failing to to respond to 130,000 requests for information under the FOIA.
Tapper pointed out that the administration has even used the Espionage Act to go after more whistleblowers than all previous Presidential administrations COMBINED.
Leonard Downie, a former Washington poster executive editor, is on record as saying that Obama had the “most aggressive” administration towards the press since Richard Nixon, which is saying something since helped to crack the Watergate scandal back during Nixon’s time in office.

Despite all of this evidence of how dangerous and opaque this administration has been, Obama still thinks that he has operated a transparent administration.The insanity and his denial of reality is mind boggling.

3) One of the major failures of not only the Obama administration but also of every other Presidential administration for the past fifty years has been the failed war on drugs. Americans still get high, we still lock up millions of people for being involved with illegal drugs, almost 50,000 Americans die every year from drug abuse, and the lost war on drugs has created some of the most violent and wealthiest drug cartels/gangs in the world.

Just how wealthy has this administration and every other administration’s failed war on drugs made the Mexican drug cartel leaders? According to a recent report on the Free Patriot website, a report that is claimed to be based on pictures and reports published by the Mexican Attorney General’s office and verified by Snopes, the following was found after a raid at the home of a drug cartel leader:

A large solid gold statue of the Virgin Mary.
357 Magnum semiautomatic guns with solid gold hand grips.
One of the largest gun collections in the world on display.
A man made cave under his luxury home with a hot tub.
More than one black jaguar on site.
Eight lions were found on the property.
A rare white tiger was on site.
A large art collection including some pieces that were illegal to own and some that were stolen.
About $200 million in cash, mostly American $100 dollar bills. That was stashed in multiple nooks and crannies throughout the house.

There was also a ton of cash in other currencies.

There were other gold machine guns and pistols.

Insanity that so much wealth had fled south of the border to create such a wealthy and violent criminal organization, all because in the many decades since Nixon declared war on drugs, every President since then, including Obama, has showed no desire, creativity, or ability to come up with a strategy that alleviates the pain that drug addiction causes and denying so much wealth to those that exploit those addicted to drugs.

That will do it for today’s insanity from our politicians. Five decades of politicians that have yet to understand that the war on drugs is lost and we need something else to treat those that become addicted, an Obama administration that is the farthest thing from being transparent despite Obama’s promise to operate the most transparent administration ever and his delusions that he actually thinks he does, and the hypocrisy of Harry Reid and other liberals who chastise those for not being politically correct but who are just as bigoted and biased as those that accuse of being intolerant, at least when it comes to Muslims running for office in his state.

Aoril, 2016, Part 2, Polticial Class Insanity: Hillary Sucking Up FBI Resources, Another John Kerry Stupid Idea, Fighting Ourselves in Syria and More

It looks like our politicians have been especially insane over the past month or so let’s get started a day early with the latest insanity from today’s American politicians:

1) Hillary Clinton has constantly asserted that she never broke the law and never did anything wrong or illegal regarding having an easily hackable computer server in her own house to do State Department work and communications on. The FBI would probably beg to differ since according to recent news reports, including ones from the Clinton friendly Washington Post, there are a whopping 147 FBI FBI agents investigating all of the insanity of Hillary Clinton and her time in the State Department.

Since there are about 14,000 FBI agents across the country, that means that over 10% of the FBI agent resources are being used to investigate the many likely infractions of Hillary. 10% of agent resources that cannot be used to combat domestic and international terrorism, 10% of the agents that cannot be used to help secure the border. 10% of the agents that cannot be used to combat gang violence in our inner cities.

What a tremendous waste of resources that Clinton has caused to occur because she never likely followed Federal laws and government protools on data and computer security. If ashe had any class,she would terminate her campaign, face the music on her lawbreaking, go away,and let these 10% of FBI agents get on with the more important job of protecting Americans. But you know she won’t, like any other American politician today, it is always all about her and them, never about America or Americans.

2) Sometimes when we do these insanity posts, you just have to shake your head and say what the heck is going on, who is in charge and why all of the stupidity? The latest bad news out of Syria is that two different militias have been fighting each other. No big news there, in any armed conflict and civil war you can expect different groups to be fighting each other in the chaos of war.

But only the American political class could arm two different militias which end up fighting each other. According to recent news reports, one militia has been armed by the CIA while another militia has been armed by the Pentagon. Insanity, the American taxpayer funding different groups of fighters in Syria that are fighting each other. You cannot make this up.

In the past two months, CIA-armed rebels have been fighting Pentagon-armed rebels in northern Syria near the Turkish border by the city of Aleppo. In February, a CIA-armed militia called the Knights of Righteousness, was routed out of the town of Marea by Pentagon-backed Syrian Democratic Forces moving in from Kurdish-controlled areas to the east.

As with every other Obama administration effort and program in Syria, it has been a disaster. Now, when you have your allies shooting eachother with U.S. taxpayer funded American weapons, you can only conclude that the OBama administration still s no control or idea what is going on in Syria, a situation that it has managed to make worse with every effort it has launched.

3) Bill Maher has usually been a staunch defender of Obama, reportedly having donated over a million dollars to Obama campaign organizations and efforts over the years. So when Maher disagrees with the President and the insanity of his lies and deceptions, one has to sit up and take notice.

Obama recently asserted that “99.9%” of Muslims do not support radical Islamic elements and terror groups, just a small slice does. But Maher on a recent edition of his HBO show was having none of it: “But it’s not one small slice. You know, everybody talks about this, like there are no numbers. Obama said it’s very important for us to align ourselves with the 99.9% of Muslims who are looking for the same thing we’re looking for, order, peace, prosperity. I love the president, but he just pulled that number right out of his a**. There are numbers. We had a guest on a couple of weeks ago, Raheel Raza. … She goes by the numbers. That’s what her video was called. 53% of the population of 39 Muslim countries that were surveyed want, Sharia Law. sharia law, death for leaving Islam, death for insulting the prophet, or the Koran, stoning a woman to death for adultery, amputation for theft, whipping for missing Friday prayers ,or drinking alcohol. The numbers vary from country to country, but this idea that it’s just this small problem, the reason why this is a unique problem…. The New York Times says there are 5,000 militant Islamic groups in the world, armies, like Boko Haram, and ISIS, and the Taliban, and al Qaeda, intent — they want to get nuclear weapons, support from the local population. I’m not saying most people want to commit terrorist acts, I’m saying they have illiberal ideas, that are sometimes in line with what the terrorists believe, and recent events.”

So much like previous posts where we showed how a lot of long time Obama supporters were finally seeing him for his deceiving self, it looks like Maher may be joining that group, actually looking at real numbers based on real research rather blindly accept numbers that Obama pulls out of thin air, 99.9%.

The insanity here is that even Bill Maher, donator of loads of money to Obama’s political efforts and campaign, realizes that just because this President says something, does not mean it is true.

4) We have never been a big fan of John Kerry. Although a millionaire many times over, long ago we reported on how he stored his large yacht in Rhode Island rather than the state he represented in the Senate, to avoid higher Massachusetts boat taxes. Rather than execute real diplomacy and sympathy in the wake of the 2015 Paris terrorists attacks, he lamely flew James Taylor over to Europe to lamely sing “You’ve Got A Friend” in the absence of having any real plan to support the French in their times of need. Rather than have a real military, intelligence, and diplomatic strategy to combat ISIS, he met with Hollywood bigwigs about coming up with a Hollywood production to combat ISIS.

To this insanity, we today add another, new John Kerry embarrassment. He and his State Department has pulled together $1.5 million in U.S. taxpayer wealth to finance the production of a television show to combat ISIS in Afghanistan. Let me say that again for emphasis: $1.5 million in U.S. taxpayer wealth will be used to finance the production of a television show to combat ISIS in Afghanistan. Pathetic excuse for diplomacy and real strategy development.

The State Department announced that it has put up $1.5 million in a grant to develop and produce a drama series that is supposed to be “countering violent extremism among young people in contemporary Afghan society. The drama will be grounded in reality, but will also contain compelling creative content (i.e. storytelling, resonant narratives, strong characters, sophisticated production, etc.),In short, it will strive to be entertaining while challenging viewers to engage in critical thinking by placing characters in situations where they are faced with a choice: support universal values of tolerance and peace or be drawn into the dark world of extremism.”

Two small problems with this wasting of $1.5 million: how many people in the Afghan countryside of have televisions, where the terrorists are likely to be strongest, actually have televisions in their homes? Afghanistan is one ofthe poorest countries in the world I would bet that a 48 inch Sony is not a top priority for them and their families. Second, forget televisions,how many Afghan homes even have electricity to operate a televisions that likely to not own., What a boneheaded program, does no one at the State Department even think about this insanity before they waste taxpayer wealth?

5) Brent Scher, writing for the Washington Free Beacon on March 28, 2016, highlighted another problem that Hillary Clinton has in addition to her email server fiasco, Benghazi, overall lack of trustworthiness, and other issues. Clinton once praised Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff as “setting a global standard” on how to fight corruption. But a recent New York Times report that massive protests against the corruption of Rousseff’s administration included about half a million citizens. That’s a lot of outraged citizens.

Rousseff’s problems include a myriad of different things including possible impeachment, taking bribes, protecting cronies, kickbacks involving businesses competing for government contracts, government accounting and financial hanky-panky, etc. But somehow Hillary Clinton thinks that Rousseff is setting some sort of high standard in the fight against corruption. Insane.

That will do it for today's insanity. Hillary Clinton not having a good grasp “global standard” against government corruption is, John Kerry’s State Department’s latest stupid idea on how to combat terrorism, another Obama supporter calling him out for his deceptions, fighting ourselves in Syria, and wasting government resources because Hillary Clinton was too arrogant to follow the rules and laws when it comes to government data security. More insanity tomorrow.
