May, 2018, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: Interfering In Other Countries Affairs, Protecting Criminal Illegal Immigrants, and Shredding The Fourth Amendment

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let's get started:

1) Liberals and Democrats in Washington and across the country have been chasing their tail for about a year and half with this notion that somehow Trump is an invalid President because Russia interfered with our Presidential election. No one, including a special prosecutor, has been able to find any real proof that this happened but the tail chasing continues.

These same people though, are silent when it is pointed out that Obama interfered with elections and the internal policies of countries around the world. Obama sent his minions to Israel in a failed attempt to get his favored candidate elected. He butted into the whole Brexit effort, he voiced his opinions on how the Philippines were handling their illegal drug problems, etc. This smacks of hypocrisy that your favored politician is allowed to interfere in other nation's business but you get upset when you imagine that another nation dared to interfere in our business.

But Obama is not the only Democrat/liberal who interfered in other nation’s issues:

• Apparently, Bill Clinton, while President, has admitted that he tried to manage the election results in a foreign country long ago.
• In a recent television interview, Clinton admitted that he meddled in the 1996 Israeli election in an attempt to get Shimon Peres elected against Bibi Netanyahu.
• In Clinton's outsider opinion, Peres was more dedicated to the peace process in the Middle East and thus Clinton tried to get Peres elected.
• In Clinton’s own words: “I tried to do it in a way that didn’t overtly involve me. I did try to be helpful to him [Peres] because I thought he was more supportive of the peace process. And I tried to do it in a way that was consistent with what I believed to be in Israel’s interest, without saying anything about the difference in domestic policies, without anything else.”

So, there is no proof that the Russians helped get Trump elected but the mainstream media and liberals are gnashing their teeth, obsessing over Russia, and undermining the need to focus on real issues vs. imagined ones. But Bill Clinton admits that he meddled in a foreign country’s election and the liberals and mainstream media are silent. Insane hypocrisy.

2) Not to pick on liberals and Democrats today but sometimes it is difficult to determine whether some of these types are more interested in protecting criminal illegal immigrants or real American citizens. Consider the following set of events that recently unfolded in the Oakland area:

• Federal Immigration (ICE) officers recently were gearing up to sweep up criminal illegal immigrants who were living in the Oakland area.
• Libby Schaaf, the current mayor of Oakland, got wind of the impending raid/sweep and actually warned those criminal illegal immigrants in her city that they were in danger of being legally caught and detained by Federal government customs and immigration officials carrying out current Federal law.
• This of course, made the lives of the ICE officers more endangered and made Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan livid since his officers were now more vulnerable and less effective.As a result, the ICE raids and sweeep were only able to pick up 230 criminal illegal immigrants.
• Of the 230, 180 “were either convicted criminals, had been issued a final order of removal and failed to depart the United States, or had been previously removed” from the United States and had snuck back illegally. 
• 115 “had prior felony convictions for serious or violent offenses, such as child sex crimes, weapons charges and assault, or had past convictions for significant or multiple misdemeanors.” 
• The list of crimes that these 230 were guilty of included aggravated assault, hit and run, burglary, cruelty towards a child, domestic violence, battery, drug trafficking, lewd acts with a minor, sex offenses, false imprisonment, and murder.
• These are the types of people that Schaff was trying to protect and shield from Federal officers doing their job under current Federal law, endangering not only the ICE officers but innocent American citizens.
• One of those apprehended was Armando Nunez-Salgado, a Mexican gang member, who had already been deported four times and had a slew of previous convictions including assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, hit and run, and evasion of a police officer.
• Another of those caught had past convictions for possession of a dangerous weapon, spousal abuse, burglary, and battery on a police officer.
• Please note that these two people had CONVICTIONS of violent crimes, not merely being accused of violent crimes and yet the good Mayor tried to protect them.
• In fact, ICE expected to round up 800 or so illegal immigrant criminals but thanks to the Mayor, over 500 of them are still roaming the streets of Oakland and nearby towns, robbing, attacking, and committing other crimes. 
• One individual that the ICE officers wanted to catch but were unable to catch, possibly because of Schaaf’s warming, was a Mexican citizen that had been convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, who had been convicted of DUI, and who had previously been deported.
• Another suspect who escaped possibly because of the Mayor's warning had a previous conviction for sodomizing a drugged victim in 2012, a previous conviction for DUI, and who had also been previously deported.

Insane how an American elected official cares more about violent, previously convicted illegal immigrants than she cares about law abiding American citizens. It does not get any more insane than that.

3) In our supposedly free country one would think that privacy would be one of the highest ideals. This concept has been affirmed man times in our past from the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution to the Roe vs., Wade ruling, privacy should be a basic right of freedom loving people.

But that concept continues to get lost on today’s politicians. Many times we have talked about how Obama shredded the Fourth Amendment when he had government agencies sweep up just about every American’s electronic communications without due process or warrants. We have secret courts (FISA) that are allowed to issue secret warrants that allow government officials to invade the privacy of individual Americans, often without due cause, as we recently saw with the falsely obtained FISA warrant to wiretap Donald Trump’s campaign.

We now know that Facebook allowed a third party company to sweep through Facebook records without Facebook users knowledge when that company was a consultant to the Trump campaign. That has caused liberals and Democrats (seems to be a theme today, liberals and Democrats acting not only crazy but hypocritical) in saying this was an invasion of privacy.

We say hypocritical because the Obama Presidential campaign staff did the same thing in 2012 and liberals, Democrats, and the mainstream media had no problem with the exact same think they are going berserk with the Trump consultant. Carol Davidsen, who served as the media director for the 2012 election, admitted that this is exactly what happened: “Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn’t stop us once they realized that was what we were doing.” 

Thus, we proved our hypothesis, that all politicians, regardless of where they come from on the political spectrum, have no respect for our privacy and our Fourth Amendment rights. This disrespect and how it is allowed to happen was nicely summed up by former government whistle blower Eric Snowden who recently observed that “Facebook is a surveillance program simply disguised as social media.” A reality that the political class is perfectly happy to allow to happen.

That will do it for today’s hypocritical and dangerous political class: interfering in other countries’ affairs, valuing criminal illegal immigrants more than American citizens’ safety, and not valuing the Fourth Amendment, our freedom, and our privacy. More insanity to follow.
