Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)One thing that Washington politicians and bureaucrats have been very bad at is economic theories, principles, and practices. They never seem to get it right which results in depressions, recessions, and a lowering of the average American family’s wealth. And recent actions by those in Washington show they have learned nothing:
The Federal Reserve recently announced that it was going to raise interests AGAIN.
They have been raising rates for a long time (11 times since March 2022) in a battle to cure inflation.
Their baseline interest rate now sits at 5.5%, which brings it to levels not seen in 22 years
I recently found this timely description of why the Fed is raising interest rates: “The Federal Reserve views higher interest rates as an effective tool to reduce excessive spending and cool down the economy. By increasing the cost of borrowing, the Fed aims to discourage consumers and businesses from taking on additional debt, which can contribute to inflationary pressures.”
Now while that might be their plan, in the meantime the cost of a lot of household expenses goes up, such as credit card rates, mortgage rates, auto loans, as a result of higher interest rates which, from a household perspective, is basically price inflation.
So in a perverted way, the Fed raising interest rates to curb inflation actually increases inflation for large segments of the population.
Sounds about right from a Washington perspective, doing something that accomplishes the exact opposite of what it is supposed to fix.
2)Kamala Harris has been quite the underperformer as Vice president since coming into that office. And that says a lot since we have had a lot of underperforming VPs, Dan Qualye, Spiro Agnew, Al Gore, just to name a few .Whatveer she has been put in charge of, she has managed to never get anything accomplished.
In fact, a few posts ago we seriously questioned her priorities. With all of the problems facing many millions of Americans today, she recently had a press conference and bragged that she was appalled that airliner restrooms were too small and she and her staff were working on a solution. Yes, millions of Americans are homeless, hungry and drug addicted and she is focused on airplane bathrooms.
But the country is not fooled by her ineptness:
A recent NBC News opinion poll found that only 32% of registered voters have a positive view of Harris, less than one in three.
49% have a negative view of her leading to a difference of 17% between those that have a negative view of her and those that have a positive view.
This 17% difference is the largest deficit in the history of the poll.
In fact, she is only the second Vice President to ever have a negative difference in approval/disapproval earrings with Mike Pence being the other but his deficit was only 4%.
You have to be really bad to have these types of negative polling numbers.
In the same poll, her boss does not fare much better since more than two thirds of those polled say that they have moderate to major concerns about Biden not having the necessary mental and physical health to be President. Great, the two highest ranking politicians in the country are either so inept that they set disapproval records or so far mentally gone that more than two out of three Americans think that he has not got what it takes to be President.
3)We have not talked a lot lately about the Biden Crime Family and how Hunter Biden and Joe Biden allegedly used Joe’s positions of power in the U.S. government over the years to enrich themselves and every other Biden family member. The corruption and greed extends around the world and includes China, Ukraine, Russia, and now possibly Romania. We could write multiple blog posts everyday and still not cover all of the misdeeds of this family as it is exposed on almost a daily basis as more and more whistleblowers come forward.
Today let’s focus on one such corruption scam that Hunter and Joe allegedly put together to enrich themselves, using Biden’s influence as President as collateral:
A number of months ago mystery shoppers bought some of Hunter Biden’s paintings for hundreds of thousands of dollars a piece.
I am not an art expert but from my viewpoint these paintings were nothing special.
Plus, Hunter Biden did not have a long history of being an artist, it looked like something he had recently taken up and showed no particular unique skill or flair as an artist.
Which raised a few questions at that time including who is buying these less than spectacular art works and why are they paying so much money for them?
One such purchaser of his artwork was Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali who is a Los Angeles real estate investor.
She is also a steady donor to Democrats.
Joe Biden recently named her to head up a Presidential commission.
Now, mix in the reality that we now know from Hunter’s infamous laptop computer that several emails were exchanged between her and Hunter where it was suggested that he could influence his dad in the selection of someone to head up the commission she was just appointed to.
And now the alleged scheme appears to flow as follows: Hunter suggests to a rich donor that if the donor pays big bucks for one of his art pieces he will whisper in his dad’s ear about naming the purchaser to a highly visible government commission which President Joe does.
Walter Shaub, who was the head of the Office of Government Ethics under Obama, summarizes this graft and corruption much better than me, saying that the White House has "outsourced government ethics to a private art dealer and they’re depending on unknown art purchasers to help keep the secret. You know, on one level I have some empathy for the President because he can’t control his relatives. But on another level it just is implausible that this art from an unknown artist would be selling at this price if it didn’t have the Biden name attached to it. The cachet that comes with buying this art is getting to say that you own art created by the President’s son. And so it really looks like the President’s son is capitalizing on his father’s public service."
If true, it is a crime family, no other way to describe it. From selling amateurish art for big, big dollars in exchange for government favors to receiving a massive diamond as a gift from someone associated with the Chinese Communist government to sitting on an energy board of directors in Ukraine, the list of money making shenanigans is unbelievable.
More Biden alleged crime hi-jinks, no one likes Kamala, and the Fed somehow thinks making life more expensive for Americans will curb inflation.
