March, 2020, Part 4, Political Class Insanity: Corruption, In Baltimore, Corruption In The FBI, Corruption In Congress

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) As we have often pointed out, political corruption is not reserved just for Washington politicians, as we find out from what recently happened in Baltimore:

Mike LaChance, writing for the American Outlook website on February 28, 2020, reported that the former mayor of Baltimore has been sentenced to prison on multiple corruption charges.
Catherine Pugh ran a scam which required companies to buy copies of her childrens’ book in order to do business with the city of Baltimore.
In other words, buy my book and you get city contracts which in the process makes me wealthier.
According to Fox News: “Catherine Pugh, a former mayor of Baltimore, was sentenced to three years in prison Thursday following her conviction on federal tax evasion and conspiracy charges related to the sale of her “Healthy Holly” books to help fund a political career, the Baltimore Sun reported."
She also has to pay back money to the University of Maryland Medical System and almost $12,000 to the Maryland Auto Insurance Fund, both of which had to purchase her book.

Corruption pervades all levels of American government.

2) A new Justice Department report found evidence that the ineptness of the FBI may have allowed a number of terrorist attacks to take place in the country during the Obama administration:

Specifically: “The FBI has acknowledged that various weaknesses related to its assessment process may have impacted its ability to fully investigate certain counter-terrorism assessment subjects who later committed terrorist attacks in the United States,” according to the report.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz said that the report shows that the FBI made inadequate attempts to fix its assessment process even though they knew they existed.
Since September, 2001, in country terrorists have committed over 20 terror attacks in the country with six of them occurring during the Obama administration when Jame Comey led the FBI.
According to the report: “Before some of these terrorists committed the attacks, they had been “the subjects of FBI assessments or investigations that had been closed by the FBI.””
These “subjects' ' went on to kill over 60 Americans in just two of these attacks, the foot Hood terror attack and the Pulse Nightclub terror attack.
These two attacks were part of a larger screwup by the FBI: “Since September 11, 2001, HVEs have carried out over 20 attacks in the United States, some of which occurred after the FBI closed a counterterrorism investigation or assessment on the individual. Following these attacks, the FBI conducted reviews and determined there were weaknesses in its HVE assessment processes. However, we found that the FBI has not taken sufficient action to address these weaknesses.”

So they knew they were screwed up and yet did not fix anything, likely resulting in the unnecessary death of American citizens on our own ground. One has to wonder if the FBI and Comey had not been so interested in framing Trump and denying him the duly elected presidency that maybe they actually could have saved some American lives.

A primary, very basic function of government should be to protect the citizens it governs. Comey and the FBI he led failed misrerably to fulfill that basic premise.

3) Congresswoman Maxine Walters of California has been one of the more obnoxious, inane, and useless politicians in Washington for a long time. To hear her talk and the gaffes and hate that come out of her mouth is overwhelming at times. She is almost always on anyone’s “top ten” list when it comes to political corruption.

But even worse, perhaps, is the self enrichment she has showered on herself, as pointed out by an article on the Three Percenter website:

Keep in mind that when reading the following facts and realities that Walters annually earns $174,000 as a member of Congress, before taxes and living expenses.
To my knowledge, she has had no other job or spouse that would have gotten her personal wealth up into the millions of dollars.
But according to the article, Walters owns a $4.5 million Los Angeles estate that is a half a city block long and is in one of the most affluent sections of LA, not in her Congressional district.
She also owns two other homes with an approximate value of about $1 million and she also has a timeshare property in Palm Springs, California, one of the more affluent locations in the whole country.
Her expensive, $4.5 million estate is managed and maintained by a private company that involves extensive landscaping.
This is a massive 6,000 square foot home surrounded by a brick wall and protected by iron gates.
It has a custom barbeque area and an indoor swimming pool which sits in a separate structure from her mansion.
According to the article: “The Waters estate boasts large scale rooms touted as “perfect for for gracious entertaining” in one LA-based publication. It includes a “stunning entry with dramatic staircase. Lovely pecan paneling in the family room. Guest house too!””

Now, keep in mind that she supposedly accumulated all of this wealth by earning not more than $174,000 a year over her long Washington career. Also keep in mind that California has some of the highest state income taxes and property taxes in the country,both of which would take a huge chunk out of her annual salary. And ask yourself: how was she ever able to get so rich on so little salary, relatively speaking, living in such a high tax state as California?

Maybe she should shut up about the Trump tax returns in case someone ever asks to review her tax returns and maybe find out where her wealth came from. It is doubtful that she is so frugal as to have gotten so wealthy by pinching her Congressional pennies.

Corruption in Baltimore, corruption in the FBI, and corruption in Congress, gets tiring after a while doesn’t it?

March, 2020, Part 3,Political Class Insanity: Joe Biden Delusions, Hillary Clinton Called To Order, and The Continued Degeneration of California.

Let’s get started:

1) Joe Biden has been one of the top gaffe machines and persons to be covered by this blog. The idiotic, stupid, and delusions things he says were once humorous but are now getting scary as he could be running for President of the United States this fall.

He recently was at it again, stumbling to get his thoughts together AND to verbalize them. In a recent campaign stop, he tried to quote from the Declaration of Independence and messed it all up: “We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created...by the...you know...you know the thing.” He meant to say: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

So not only did he butcher the quote but probably more importantly he could not remember from what historical document he was quoting, calling it “the thing.” As a long term politician, a college graduate, and a lawyer how could he not remember the Declaration of Independence, one of the greatest human documents ever written? Very scary that a person of his current mental facilities could actually be President.

2) It has been our opinion that Hillary Clinton has been able to use her Washington and political class connections to escape consequences of her likely illegal actions and activities. From violating Federal law by having and using a secret, unsecured email server in her home while Secretary of State to using the Clinton Foundation as a front for money laundering and her family's enrichment to destroying evidence of criminal activity, she has somehow gotten a free pass from those that were responsible for enforcing the laws of the land.

But due to a recent court ruling, looks like she may be headed for a legal challenge relative to some of her alleged law breaking:

A Federal judge has ordered her to personally give a deposition relative to the possible illegal use of her unsecured home computer server.
U.S. District Court judge, Royce Lamberth, has ordered the deposition because her past comments on the topic were ”incomplete, unhelpful, or cursory."
This order follows an unbelievable five and half year legal battle concerning the Freedom of Information Act that was brought by Judicial Watch.
This will be the first time she has had to answer live questioning under oath by none members of Congress.
According to Politico: “During her four years in President Barack Obama's Cabinet, Clinton relied on a private email account and server for both her work-related and personal messages. The practice led to a storm of controversy that roiled her 2016 presidential bid and is widely viewed as contributing to her ultimate defeat by Donald Trump.”
FBI investigators had found dozens of top secret information on her unsecured server which probably had been hacked by more than one foreign entity.
The judge also ordered Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills, to also be deposed.

So sad that justice takes so long to be brought against the Washington elite or break laws with ease. The Freedom of Information Act was not designed to take five and half years to comply with requests which raises the doubt that all is well and kosher as it relates to the unsecured Hillary Clinton email server.

3) Now that Joe Biden has some primary momentum after Super Tuesday voting, it seems he is saying more and more dumb and incoherent stuff. The latest relates to gun violence in the country which came up in a recent debate put on by CBS news.

Specifically: “But my friend to the right and others have, in fact, also gave into the gun manufacturers, absolute immunity. Imagine if I stood here and said we’d give immunity to drug companies. We would give immunity to tobacco companies. That has caused carnage on our streets, 150 million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability. More than all the wars, including Vietnam, from that point on.”

Let’s do some simple math Joe and see how ridiculously inane this statement is:

150 million people is about half the population of the entire country which means in about a dozen years half of the country's population has been wiped out by gun violence.
That means that 12.5 million have been killed over the past dozen years by gun violence.
Which means just over 1 million Americans were killed every month by gun violence.
Which means that over 33,000 Americans were killed every day by gun violence over a 12 year period.
Since 2007, just over 33 million Americans have died from EVERY possible way, be it car accidents, cancer, drug overdoses, gun violence, etc.
And yet Biden thinks that almost five times that many have been killed just by gun violence.

Hard to believe that someone could be that that stupid or delusional to make up such stupidity.

4) We have spent a lot of time over the past several months discussing in what bad shape the state of California is. It is losing citizens to other states who are fleeing bad schools, a crumbling infrastructure, high homeless rates, and sky high taxes. Some of the state’s biggest cities have become cesspools of filth and disease as the state and local Democratic politicians have failed to even begin addressing the homeless problem in the state. Public defecation and urination, the public shooting up of drugs and the revival of gruesome Medieval diseases (e.g. typhus) has made a disgusting living environment for many state residents.

And yet in his recent state of the state message the state governor made the following bold prediction that he never knew could be so full of hot air and irony: “California is still, proudly, America’s coming attraction.”

America First’s website put this inane comment in perspective:
California has 12% of the nation's population but 53% of the nation's homeless population.
California has nine times as many homeless people than the next closest state.
California has the eighth worst road conditions.
California has two of the top eight most congested cities in the country.
California has the sixth worst prison overcrowding problem in the country which has led a court to force the state to release thousands of criminals onto the streets.
California has the worst teacher to student ratio in the entire country.
California has had a net loss of population to other states over the past 30 years.

If the California governor thinks that California is the country's coming attraction then it surely is a horror show.

That will do it for today. More political delusions whether it is Biden on the national political stage of the California on the state political stage and Hillary Clinton is FINALLY going to have to explain her likely law breaking unsecure computer server.

March, 2020, Part 2, Political Class Insanity: More Shady Clinton Dealings and Bernie Sanders Idiocy on Increased Taxes

Let’s get started:

1) The Clinton political regimes have gotten into some very shady areas but have never been brought to justice. But the same cannot be said for a former Clinton official:

Candace Claiborne, a former State Department official, recently plead guilty to the charge treason.
She had been indicted by a Federal grand jury for colluding with parties of foreign countries.
She had previously worked under both Bill and Hillary Clinton in the State Department.
She was accused of working with spies in China with the intent to defraud the Federal government, interfering with a government proceeding, and lying to the FBI.
She had had a top secret clearance when employed by the State Department so who knows what secret material and information she had access to.
She had received thousands of dollars worth of gifts from the Chinese spies.
Specifically, the Justice Department claimed that, “Candace Marie Claiborne traded her integrity and non-public information of the United States government in exchange for cash and other gifts from foreign agents she knew worked for the Chinese intelligence services. She withheld information and lied repeatedly about these contacts. Violations of the public’s trust are an affront to our citizens and to all those who honor their oaths. With this guilty plea we are one step closer to imposing justice for these dishonorable criminal acts.”
Additionally, “Candace Claiborne was entrusted with Top Secret information when she purposefully misled federal investigators about her repeated interactions with foreign contacts which violated her oath of office as a State Department employee.”

Good news is that this corruption and lack of integrity was uncovered and punished. Too bad this type of justice does not extend to her former bosses.

2) Let’s stay with the Hillary Clinton State Department and another shady situation:

Kurt Smolek worked in the State Department when Hillary was its head.
He was assigned to Cambodia as an OSAC Diplomatic Security Agent.
And his body was recently pulled out of the Potomac River down D.C. way.
Cambodia is a country known for its human and children sex trafficking.
Bill Clinton via Jeffrey Epstein had alleged ties to child sex trafficking.

Just a coincidence that these realities have a common link? Or another in a long list of suspicious Clinton associate deaths? Should be interesting to see where the Smolek investigation goes.

3) Politicians say the darndest things, almost all of them stupid, inane, or a lie. Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders recently demonstrated this trait while being interviewed on CNN. During the interview he claimed that Americans would be delighted to pay more in taxes. Specifically: “Yeah, but I suspect that a lot of people in the country would be delighted to pay more in taxes if they had comprehensive health care as a human right. I live 50 miles away from the Canadian border. You go to the doctor any time you want. You don't take ought your wallet. You have heart surgery, you have a heart transplant and you come out of the hospital and it costs you nothing. Your kids in many countries around the world can go to the public colleges and universities tuition-free, wages in many cases are higher. So there is a tradeoff, but at the end of the day, I think, that most people will believe they will be better off when their kids have educational opportunities without out-of-pocket expenses and when they have healthcare as a human right and they have affordable housing, when they have decent retirement security, I think most Americans will understand that is a good deal.”

Oh my gosh, so many things stupid about this statement:

He suspects that Americans would be delighted to pay more in taxes, i.e. he has no basis, research, or data that proves they would be delighted, strictly his political campaign opinion.
It costs you nothing to have heart surgery in Canada...no, you pay heavy taxes and often incremental taxes to get a heart transplant, nothing is free in life.
And as we have pointed out many, many times in this blog, you probably will have to wait for a very, very long time to get that transplant in Canada during which time you would get sicker and sicker which causes tens of thousands of Canadians to go out of country to get timely, quality health care. Wages in many other countries on average are not higher in other countries, strictly political bs, the average household income in this country is unmatched by the vast, vast majority of countries.
He also does not admit the reality that there is not enough wealth in the country to pay for “free” health care, free college education, affordable housing, and retirement security since the national debt, the unfunded Social Security and Medicare liabilities, and state government debt is far over $100 trillion, an amount that far exceeds the total combined wealth of every American.

I am an American and I would not be delighted to pay more in taxes to a set of Washington politicians that have wasted trillions of dollars and given us nothing to show for it. I would bet most Americans want to keep taxes down so that their additional disposable income could better take care of themselves and their families. It would allow them to send their kids to better schools, buy a bigger home, start a business, contribute more to charity, etc. Sanders is so far off with this stupid assertion that we would be delighted to give Washington more of our wealth put idiocy and fallacy. Insanity.

March, 2020, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: Political Corruption In Massachusetts, Biden Under Investigation, and Biden's Alternative Reality

Let’s get started:

1) Political corruption does not just exist with Washington politicians. It can find its way down to state and local politicians also. Consider a recent report from the Federalist Papers:

Former Massachusetts state senator, Brian Joyce, was recently arrested and charged with using his political office as a “criminal enterprise.”
He was arrested under a 113 county Federal indictment.
He was accused of taking over $1 million in bribes and kickbacks when in office and abusing that office of public trust.
He was also charged with racketeering, extortion, fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to defraud the IRS.
He was arrested by the FBI after a two year investigation.
According to the FBI, he used his law practice by, ““falsely characterizing the bribe and kickback payments as legal referral fees,” and that he lied to the state Ethics Commission about the payments.”

Now, as always, he is innocent until proven guilty. But seriously, 113 counts and a two year Federal investigation does not make it look good for possibly yet another politician who sees public office as a personal enrichment opportunity rather than a way to serve the voters with integrity.

2) According to a recent article on the National Insiders website, Joe Biden is now under serious investigation by the Ukrainian government:

The investigation is looking into if Biden had pressured Ukrainian officials to drop an investigation of Hunter Biden and forced the resignation of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.
This is related to the fact that Biden’s son, Hunter, had received over $3 million form the country’s natural gas company, Burisma Holdings, while Joe Biden was overseeing a U.S. effort to address Ukrainian corruption and despite the reality that his son had absolutely NO energy experience or background.
The charge against Biden is that he interfered with the work of an official of a Ukrainian law enforcement agency.
Apparently, Biden is a suspect in three different criminal offenses.
According to the article, “Judging by remarks Biden allowed himself to make in public, Viktor Mykolayovych Shokin has sufficient grounds to believe that it was [Biden] who masterminded and, to a certain extent, perpetrated those criminal offenses to which Shokin alerted the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine,” the lawyer said.”
Even more crazy is that Greek law enforcement sources are looking into the mercury poison of Shokin in 2019 to see if that has a Biden connection.

Again, innocent until proven guilty. But the problem Biden has is that he has publicly bragged on video that he actually did intervene to get Shokin fired, a ready made confession.

3) Biden has always been a human gaffe machine, possibly only outdone by Nancy Pelosi or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez when it comes to saying, stupid, inane, or just plain wrong statements. For example, he confidently stated a number of months ago that he was Vice President when the horrific Parkland School shooting happened in Florida. The sad thing was that he was NOT Vice president when that shooting happened. He more recently said he was arrested in South Africa when he went to see Nelson Mandela even though there is absolutely no record of that ever happening.

And he was recently at it again, completely wrong when it comes to his previous work in government:

He recently told a crowd in South Carolina that he was instrumental in getting a climate deal done with the Chinese Premier.
Unfortunately, the Premier he thought he got the deal done with had passed away 23 years earlier, before the climate deal was signed.
Specifically, “I’m the guy that came back after meeting with Deng Xiaoping and making the case that I believe China would join if we put pressure on them.”
But Biden was Obama’s President from 2009 until 2017 during which the Paris Climate Agreement was developed towards the end of the Obama Presidency/
But Deng who had died over a decade before Obama and Biden took office.
Trump's reelection campaign explained this impossibility: “Joe Biden claimed tonight that he worked with Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping on the Paris Climate Accord. Except the current Chinese President is Xi Jinping. Deng Xiapoing left office in 1992 and has been dead for 23 years,” they mocked.

One really has to question the man's sense of reality when he constantly forgets where he is, who he dealt with, and many other delusions of reality. And he wants to be President of the United States.

4) Let’s stay with Biden and his incoherent ramblings. In a recent dinner with South Carolina Democrats, he made this incoherent assertion: “Where I come from, you don’t get far unless you ask. My name’s Joe Biden. I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. Look me over. If you like what you see, help out. If not, vote for the other Biden.”

Sadly, he is a Democratic candidate for the Presidency, not a Senate seat. He has been running for President for the past year or so and yet he says he is running for the Senate. Wow.

That will do it for the beginning of this month’s insanity: Biden lives in a world with a different color sky and different reality than the rest of us, he is under investigation for corruption in the Ukraine, and political corruption in Massachusetts. More insanity to follow.
