March, 2019, Part 2,Political Class Insanity: Booker Hates America, Hillary Should Have KNown Better and More

It is another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

Let’s get started:

1) Senator Cory Booker is a Senator from New Jersey who wants to be the next President. In my opinion, he has been an undistinguished, blowhard Senator who has accomplished very little except being a drama queen in front of the cameras and press.

He recently commented that the U.S. is not ”the top country” to be born into today if you are poor during a recent interview on “Pitchfork Economics,” whatever the heck that is. Now while he is certainly entitled to his opinion, let’s explore a few ways why this is just a plain insane and stupid thing to say:
  • There are probably tens of millions of American voters out there that would disagree with this statement, not a good thing to do if you want their votes.
  • Apparently he did not list any countries that were better to be born in if you are poor.
  • Apparently he did not recommend any solutions to make it better if you were born poor into this country, i.e. better schools, better housing, better job opportunities, etc.
  • Apparently he did not address the reality that millions of people from other countries continually try to get into this country because of its prosperity and economic opportunity.
  • Apparently he did not address the reality that under Trump the unemployment rate for African and Hispanic Americans are at or near record lows.
Again, he is certainly entitled to his opinion. But if you have a problem with something, don’t whine about it, work towards solutions and resolution, something that he did not do and something that I think he is incapable of doing. And don’t be an idiot: if you want to be President, do not be so stupid as to alienate millions of voters before you even get out of the starting gate.

2) David Greenfield, writing for the Freedom Force website, had an interesting article on how the Senate blew up the long standing filibuster rules to confirm a government official just to have that move blow up in its face:
  • Back in 2013, Democrats got ticked off that Republicans would not support the appointment of Congressman Mel Watt to head the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).
  • Just so happens that Watt is African-American which enabled the Democrats to play their race card tactic, never mind whether or not he was qualified to head the agency, if Republicans opposed him they must be racist.
  • Head of the Senate, Harry Reid went on record to associate the Republicans opposition with slavery and the Civil War: “Republicans’ unprecedented obstruction continued today with a step that we have not seen since the Civil War, as they blocked Representative Mel Watt, a sitting member of the House of Representatives, from being confirmed to an administration position.”
  • Again, no consideration to whether he was able and capable, just drop that race card even though Watt had no background in housing financing and had found himself embroiled with multiple conflicts with the Office of Congressional Ethics organization for shady fund raising.
  • As a result, to get this unqualified and possibly unethical person into a very powerful position, Reid nuked the long standing filibuster option on appointments to bypass Republican doubts, killing a long established process and setting a dangerous precedent.
  • Which may have been okay if Watt was a good, reputable performer in the job.
  • Turns out that morally and ethically Watt was deficient on both counts.
  • As his term as head of the agency neared, it became known that he was aggressively pursuing a female employee at the agency despite being married.
  • When he took her out to a Mexican restaurant he allegedly told her that, "There is an attraction here that I think needs to be explored."
  • He want on to say relative to a tattoo the woman had that, “If I kissed that one, would it lead to more?”
  • When the woman, Simone Grimes, turned his advances down, saying she was already in a relationship, he said that was not an issue since, "I love my wife too. Having an attraction for someone else doesn’t have to mean you don’t love them.”
  • And investigation for sexual harassment got underway and he claimed in public that he was clean of any unethical or bad but in private claimed to not to be a regular FHFA employee, he led the agency, and thus, was not bound by the agency’s employee behavior policies.
  • But the investigation resulted in a massive 600 page report that concluded that Watt was guilty of misconduct and not being candid with investigators, which was verified by recordings Grimes had made of their conversations.
  • Worse of all, it appears that Grimes was then targeted and retaliation for her going public, as she testified in front of Congress.
  • Those Congressional investigations in turn uncovered the reality of what was going on inside the FHFA which included reducing the auditing staff and some other very shady dealings.
Nicely done Harry Reid. Play the race card and ruin the lives of people like Simone Grimes, the firing of hard working government employees and blowing up a long standing check and balance Senate process for a scumbag like Watt.

3) On a personal basis, I had a long list of reasons why I would not vote for Hillary Clinton:
  • She had spent decades abetting, protecting and defending her husband’s sexual predator and raping tendencies, always defending him and trying to destroy his sexual predator victims.
  • She had a long history of blatant lying, e.g. she did NOT land under sniper fire Bosnia, she did NOT have four grandparents who were immigrants, etc.
  • She was not an effective Senator, having been able to get no more than a small handful of sponsored bills enacted.
  • She violated Federal law by using an insecure computer server in her own home that was likely hacked by foreign intelligence agencies and could have led to the death of many American agents around the world.
  • She lost billions of dollars in State Department budget dollars that were never accounted for.
  • She used the State Department as a money laundering operation to enrich herself and her husband.
And yet despite all of this law breaking and money laundering, she has never come close to being indicted, arrested, or put on trial for her misdeeds. Her good friends in the Justice Department, James Comey and Loretta Lynch, made sure she never had a day of legal reckoning.

But according to a recent set of news reports, many important people in the FBI thought she should have faced justice:
  • The one time top lawyer at the FBI, James Baker, initially thought that Hillary Clinton should have faced criminal charges for sending classified, secret government information over her insecure home computer system.
  • This information came about from his closed door testimony to Congress in 2018.
  • Specifically: "So, I had that belief initially after reviewing, you know, a large binder of her emails that had classified information in them. And I discussed it internally with a number of different folks, and eventually became persuaded that charging her was not appropriate because we could not establish beyond a reasonable doubt that - we, the government, could not establish beyond a reasonable doubt that - she had the intent necessary to violate (the law)."
  • Despite this feeling, he was persuaded not to proceed with criminal charges "pretty late in the process, because we were arguing about it, I think, up until the end."
  • He went on to say that he “thought that it was alarming, appalling, whatever words I said, and argued with others about why they thought she shouldn't be charged."
So she did not intentionally try to break the law even though she did, which apparently for connected political types like her that makes it all okay. So the next time you get arrested for speeding, use the Hillary defense: you did not intend to break the law. Next time, God forbid, you get arrested for drunk driving after you injure or kill someone, use the Hillary defense: you did not intend to break the law. Want to bet that defense does not work for you, an ordinary American citizen with no connections to the FBI Director and Attorney General?

That will do it for today: a Presidential candidate who hates America, a former Congressman and head of a government agency who turns out to be a low life after all, and Hillary skates on breaking the law because she was viewed as a poor soul who did not intend to break the law even though she did. More insanity to follow.
