We have recently done a series of posts on corruption in government programs where criminals, government employees, or government program incompetence and waste destroy taxpayer wealth. Today we will mix in some typical political class insanity along with a little more taxpayer defrauding.
1)Up in Massachusetts yet another immigrant criminal gang has been identified as ripping off government programs and the American taxpayer:
Federal prosecutors recently arrested four Venezuelan immigrants for food stamp/SNAP criminal fraud.
The four are accused of stealing $1.1 million via food stamps and unemployment scams.
They created false applications via identity theft for food stamps for over 100 people and then listed the addresses of these over 100 people at only two separate locations.
They used the fraudulently obtained food stamps credits to stock their own restaurant between 2023 and 2025, i.e. taxpayers were buying food for them to serve at their restaurant.
They also sent these falsely obtained funds to people in different countries.
Unfortunately, Massachusetts politicians shut down the operation but did not refer the criminals for Federal prosecution at the time they shut down the fraud which allowed them to stay out of prison and possibly continue their fraud with other stolen identities.
They also issued falsely created ids to pilfer the favorite government programs for fraudsters, the Federal government’s Covid programs.
Two months prior to these arrests, the Feds busted another Massachusetts immigrant criminal ring that stole over $7 million in food stamp trafficking schemes.
The four criminals recently arrested are facing upwards of 20 years in prison.
Let’s hope they get the punishment they deserve, helping to discourage others from stealing from the American taxpayer.
2)Corruption-free voting processes that represent the true wishes and priorities of American citizens are the basis for our freedom and democracy. Any violation of voting processes is an insult and endangerment of our freedom. One of the most corrupt elections that showed how vulnerable election processes are in this country was the 2020 Presidential election. We will not go into why we believe that the 2020 election was stolen via corruption but you can go back to late 2020 posts of this blog and you will see dozens of pieces of evidence of how the election was corruptly stolen for Biden.
As a result of the fraud in the 2020 Presidential election and other fraud in other elections, a movement in Congress is underway to ensure that only Americans are voting in our elections and that the people who are voting are actually the people they claim to be. Despite the importance of voting integrity, some politicians in Washington are actually against any effort to improve the integrity of our elections.
One of those against ensuring integrity is Senator Jon Ossoff. He has been a very active and vocal opponent to voter ID requirements for elections, a position that makes no sense from someone who should be protecting our First Amendment and voting rights
And yet, Ossoff demands that a valid photo ID be presented in order to attend his campaign rallies and other gatherings. The hypocrisy cannot be more evident: no need to prove that only Americans are voting in our elections and that voters prove they are who they claim to be and yet he requires id for his own events that have nothing to do with voting integrity.
Mike Collins who is trying to be the Republican candidate to oust Ossoff from his Senate seat summed up the hypocrisy quite nicely: “Jon Ossoff is about to vote against the SAVE Act, but is requiring a government-issued ID to get into his rally in Atlanta tomorrow. There should be more security in American elections than there is to listen to Jon Ossoff’s lies.”
So sad that any politician at any level of government in this country does not support making voting processes right, non-corrupted, and in total integrity. His hypocrisy is ridiculous even for a Washington politician.
3)Brandon Scott is the mayor of Baltimore and apparently he likes to have a nice vehicle to drive around in. In fact, the city taxpayers’ tax dollars recently bought him a magnificent 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer luxury SUV for a whopping $163,495.
Local broadcast station in the city, WBFF, described the vehicle as “the priciest government issued vehicles assigned to any current mayor, governor, county executive, or county commissioner/county council in the state.” This is two to three times the expense any other politician is using in the state.
This is a city that is in dire financial, crime, and crumbling infrastructure shape so the optics of a luxury SUV being used to usher the mayor about town is not good. When a WBFF reporter pointed out the extravagances of the expense vs. other high ranking government employees, the mayor immediately tried to deflect being in politics to a question that had nothing to do with the vehicle: “We get it. We understand that your station has this, uh, severe right-wing effort underway.”
So, not taking ownership of the situation, it is he himself being persecuted because WBFF has a “severe right-wing effort underway.” Further discussions with the WBFF reporter had the mayor accusing the reporter of having a “racist slant.” A simple question on government costs and the mayor almost immediately plays the race card. Pathetic, self-serving leadership and ego based attitude.
4)From a responsibility dodging politician on the east coast, let’s go the west coast where accusations, if true, would show another politician dodging responsibility:
The Los Angeles wild fries were horrible from a death and destruction perspective.
Lives were lost and thousands of buildings and structures were destroyed.
We have previously discussed the reality that politicians at every level of California government have been very inept and slow in facilitating the rebuilding after the destruction since thousands of structures were destroyed and over a year later only dozens of new structures had building permits and were under construction.
And now there are accusations that LA mayor, Karen Bass, may have interfered with the official LA Fire Department audit of the fire to minimize the city’s responsibility in the destruction caused by the fires.
According to reporting by the Gateway Pundit, if the accusations are true, it would show a political culture of covering one’s butt rather than doing good governance.
According to reporting by the LA Times, Bass “successfully altered in her favor a critical after-action report on the devastating southern California wildfires that killed 31 people.”
Two unnamed whistleblowers told the Times that Bass was scared that the city would face legal action for its lack of preparedness and incompetence.
As a result, Bass “removed or softened language implicating the city.”
She allegedly changed language in the report that covered up the staff shortages and failure to deploy fire department resources in the days prior to the wildfires.
Bass has stated she did not interfere in the report, that the editing accusations “is all made up.”
Obviously, at this point in time, these are unproven accusations. But if true, it exposes another aspect of the American political class: maintaining one’s political reputation is more important than serving the citizens that elected them.
Enough insanity for today: possibly covering one’s butt in California, a politician’s ego and deflection in Baltimore, voting id hypocrisy in Congress, and more government program corruption fraud, this time in Massachusetts.
