July,2026, Political Class Insanity, Part 4: Taxpayer Funded Genitalia Dolls In Minnesota, Wasting Homeless Taxpayer Money In NYC, Gavin Newsom Is Delusional, and More

We have spent a lot of our recent posts about which state or city will go bankrupt first and the massive fraud that has been going on relative to government programs. But that does not mean that the potential class has been up to its traditional incompetence, insanity,  and screw ups. So, let’s catch up with  the shenanigans that continue to plague the country:

1)Consider the plight  of some residents of the state of Minnesota:

  • About 8,000 homeless folks in the state.

  • About 1,000 drug  overdoses victims every year in the state.

  • About 20% of all households in the state are living with food insecurity.

  • About 180 homicides every year in Minnesota.

Now  consider what Minnesota politicians are spending residents’ tax  money on:

  • According  to the Post Millennial, taxpayer wealth is being used to create “transgender”  paper  dolls  with removable genitalia for introduction into  Minnesota  schoolrooms.

  • Some of those schoolrooms are for kids as  young as four years old.

  • These were developed out of research  from  the University of  Minnesota Medical School.

  • The  dolls have so-called  “gender neutral” names such  as Rory, Avery, Parker, etc.

  • They come with more than  100 interchangeable clothing pieces and are “designed to normalize  radical  gender ideology  in front of  very young children.”

  • According to  the Post Millennial reporting, the taxpayer  cost of  these things is unknown  to  the public.

  • University officials openly  state that their intention  is  to use the  dolls  to  prompt young kids  to talk about genitalia: “We were able to explore and brainstorm not just what our bodies are able to do now but what we want our bodies to do and look like in the future," Adjunct Assistant Professor Elizabeth Panetta said.

Of all the problems facing residents  of Minnesota, this is how taxpayer dollars are being spent? How many homeless residents get shelter with this funding? How many meals for hungry Minnesotans  could be provided? How many law enforcement resources could be hired to  beat back crime? How many drug addiction treatments  could be  deployed to help the  drug addicted in the state?

Horrible set  of priorities with  little positive impact on society. Pathetic.

2)Sometimes politicians talk and you wonder: are they that much  out of touch with  reality or do  they think  we are that stupid that we  will believe  whatever  nonsense they tell us? Consider this piece of  insanity and/or ignorance coming out of California:

  • No state  in the union has  probably had more wildfire disasters than California  over recent  years.

  • And these wildfires are not just up in the mountains or deep in the forests.

  • One of the most devastating  wildfires  recently has been within  the  city limits of Los  Angeles.

  • And as always, the  California political class and the  government agencies they operate are not very proficient in preventing or putting out the fires, even as Governor Gavin  Newsom recently bragged that his state is a  global “model” in wildfire management.

  • He  further bragged  that other government entities study and copy  his state’s approach to fighting  fires: “I can say this with absolute conviction. We don’t imitate; we’re a model for others. We have people coming from all over the United States and around the globe to look at what California is doing in orbit, in the air, and on the ground.”

There are plenty of politicians, maybe most of them,  that are out of touch with  reality but this might be the best out of touch moment we have seen  in a while.

Which gets us back to the original dilemma: does Newsom actually think that his state  does a magnificent job  in the wildfire management area (which  is clearly not true given the  history of  wildfie mismanagement)  or does  he think we are that stupid to see this level of  incompetence and  will just take his word for it?  A question for the  ages.

3)New York City, like most liberal and Democratic controlled cities, has devastating problems with  homeless residents of their states. It is horrible that a country as wealthy as  ours  cannot  find  adequate shelter for the homeless  people that roam the streets.

But  it is not like  billions upon  billions of taxpayer dollars have not  been spent to  fix the homelessness problem in these cities, those dollars have been  spent  but with  little improvement  in the situation. Which gets us back into a corruption and incompetence  discussion, using  New York City as  an  example  of government failure:

  • Saritha  Komatiredddy wants to be the next attorney general for  New York.

  • She recently  went after the current  attorney general, Letitia James, for  her alleged  failure to properly monitor and audit nonprofit homeless  shelter entities that receive billions of taxpayer  dollars every year.

  • A recent report from the  New York State Comptroller  summarized the disaster that is the effort to shelter homeless residents.

  • The Comptroller  found  that  the  New  York  City government spends about  $82,000 per  unsheltered  homeless person in the city every year.

  • Since 2019, the  city spending on the homeless  has tripled while at the same time  the homeless  population  has risen a whopping 78%.

  • You have  to be pretty incompetent  or  corrupt to spend three times more to correct a problem but see that problem get 78% worse.

  • Komatiredddy  correctly described this disaster when she asserted that the government gets larger and larger off of taxpayer wealth  while  failing to accomplish anything  of importance for those taxpayers: "So there really are questions about what has happened to that money and why that's happening. The person who should be asking those questions, the person who should be investigating, is the attorney general. But Letitia James has totally failed New Yorkers when it comes to holding homeless shelter nonprofits accountable so that they actually help the homeless."

  • She  cites  numerous investigations conducted by the New York City Department  of Investigations, the New York State Comptroller, and  Federal prosecutors that have uncovered  widespread abuse of taxpayer  funds  including allegations of fraud, kickbacks, conflicts of interest, excessive executive compensation  for nonprofit executives, sexual abuse  of sheltered  women, and weak government financial oversight.

  • A 2024 investigation by the  Department of Investigation  found  that nepotism,  lack of competitive bidding  for city homeless shelter contracts,  and high nonprofit salaries  funded by taxpayers were  prevalent  across 51  city supported homeless shelter providers.

  • Some of those executives were  receiving close to a million dollars  a year in  salary, probably higher than any city employees.

  • And yet despite all these findings, all of these warnings, all  of these investigations,  all of these blinking red crisis lights,  apparently little has been done to make this process actually work efficiently and  cost effectively  and  get homeless folks the shelter and support  they need without wasting  taxpayer money.

What a  government disaster, spend and more and make the original situation  worse. How can  you spend  the  equivalent of $82,000 per  person  a year and get worse  results?  Insanity.

4)One last piece of political class insanity for  today:

  • One would  hope that any public servant is of the highest moral character  and integrity.

  • But that hope is very often shattered in real  life.

  • According  to  reporting by the Western  Journal, a  former  state politician in Pennsylvania has been charged with  possession of child prongraphy and receipt and  distribution of pornography.

  • Jesse White was arrested after an FBI investigation allegedly found  over 100 child pornography files across multiple laptops and hard  drives  owned by White.

  • Some of those files were pictures of girls as young  as 7 years old.

  • Some of the pics depicted sex acts being performed by kids  ranging in  age  from 7 to 15 years old.

  • Other pictures were just as  discussing and I will not  describe  them here.

  • He had  previously served in the Pennsylvania General Assembly from 2007  to 2015, making  decisions that affected state residents  during  that time.

Another  disappointing public serving official from a moral and ethical  perspective.  Disgusting.

That will do  it for today: child pornography in Pennsylvania, wasting billions and billions of taxpayer  dollars  on a corrupt and broken homeless problem in New York City, a  delusional governor in California, and wasting Minnesota  tax dollars on  genitalia themed dolls.
