Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always inefficient and ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)Any crime or violence done on another human being is not right and needs to be properly punished by the authorities. I doubt a lot of people have a problem with that tenet. In fact, many times we have stated our position that a very, very basic function of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the citizens it serves.
But violence and crimes done against kids is especially heinous. Whether it is physical violence, sexual assault or human trafficking, anything involving kids in these endeavors deserves to be dealt with strongly and quickly.
And yet, somehow, California politicians appear to not view violence of a sexual nature inflicted on kids as a big deal:
California leads the country in the number of reported cases involving human trafficking of kids.
Fortunately, many politicians in the California state legislature recognize the heinous and serious nature of this dubious statistic and have put forth a bill to make trafficking a minor to be a serious felony offense.
In legal terms, anyone found guilty of trafficking a kid in the state under this proposed law would not be ineligible for plea bargaining and would be part of the state’s “three strikes law,” which imposes life long prison sentences for three felony convictions.
In fact, the proposed law was passed unanimously by the California state Senate, a body made up of mostly Democratic, liberal politicians.
However, California's assembly’s “Public Safety Committee” blocked the legislation in the assembly and thus, it will not be approved for the governor’s signature.
Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer, chairman of the committee, refused to advance the bill.
There is no rational or reasonable reason why this bill should not become law in the state with the highest incidence of human trafficking of kids. To not pass the bill is just another despicable act by the American political class who continue to very often not consider the needs of innocent people and in this case, innocent kids.
2)Far too often we have discussed the reality that American politicians very often seem much more focused on self enrichment than hoping out the American citizens they are supposed to serve. Insider trading by various Washington politicians is not a secret to anyone. Just about every politician seems to be much wealthier after they leave office compared to when they are first elected and their high salaries cannot possibly be the reason why.
Up until now, most of the self enrichment news and atrocities have been focused on elected politicians. But now it appears that a sitting Supreme Court Justice is getting into the Washington “get rich quick scheme”:
According to the Associated Press, Justice Sonia Sotomayer’s personal net worth has increased a whopping hundred fold since becoming a Supreme Court justice.
Apparently, she has used her taxpayer funded staff to make arrangements with colleges and libraries to buy copies of her book when she had spoken at their location.
Just prior to making it onto the Supreme Court, Sotomayer disclosed that her wealth was valued between $15,001 and $65,000.
According to more recent financial disclosures as required by law, her speaking engagements and book deals have seen her net worth jump up to between $1.5 million and $6.6 million.
Note: those working in Washington have tried to hide their true enrichment by requiring that financial disclosure only be available in very broad categories, not specific amounts and thus, the wide, cloudy range of $1.5 million and $6.6 million.
However, doing the simple math her personal wealth has grown one hundredfold at a minimum, e.g. $15,001 to $1.5 million or $60,000 to $6.6 million.
As laid out by the Associated Press: “Supreme Court staffers have been deeply involved in organizing speaking engagements intended to sell books. That is conduct prohibited for members of Congress and the executive branch, who are barred under ethics rules from using government resources, including staff, for personal financial gain.”
Specifically, people who wanted to meet Sotomayer at one of her speaking engagements were required to buy one of her books in order to glad hand with the Justice.
Furthermore, according to Article III Project founder and president Mike Davis: “Justice Sotomayor is a good person who appears to have made a mistake by having her staff sell her books, including what appears as pressure on schools and libraries to buy a minimum number of her books before her speaking engagements.”
Thus, the last bastion of integrity in Washington might not be that last bastion of integrity after all.
3)I have always tried to live by the motto: “The reason that someone swears is because they are not smart enough or creative enough to not swear.” Swearing and cursing, especially when directed at a friend, family member or co-worker is not only childish but it is usually not effective.
In addition, one would hope that the leader of the free world, the President of the United States would be above the vulgarity of cursing and swearing, setting an example for the country of maturity and mature, adult discussion of the issues. However, according to news leaking out of the White House, Joe Biden is NOT that example of maturity:

According to their reporting, when Biden is behind closed doors and not in public, he is really a brutal type of tyrant.
Staff are reportedly afraid to be alone with him since he is subjected to profanity laced rants, tearing into staff members from out of nowhere.
Specifically: “Behind closed doors, Biden has such a quick-trigger temper that some aides try to avoid meeting alone with him. Some take a colleague, almost as a shield against a solo blast.”
And these are not gentle profanities since they include such wonderful lines as “God dammit, how the f**k don’t you know this?!,” and “Don’t f**king bullsh*t me!” and “Get the f**k out of here!”
His hypocrisy of being a caring and wonderful senior citizen goes even further since once in office he would fire anyone on his staff who “treated colleagues with disrespect” or “talked down to anyone.”
Nice guy: profanity infused, disrespect to his own staff, a hypocrite, and just a miserable old man.
Now, having been the co-guardian of an elderly uncle for five years who was afflicted with dementia, this is possibly another sign that Biden is also afflicted. Signs of the disease include profanely lashing out at people, wanting to be only in familiar surroundings (as witnessed by the fact that Biden has already spent over 150 days back at his homes in Delaware), forgetfulness, struggles to walk (as witnessed by his number of falls in public especially lately), and other symptoms.
He is not well and he is angry and those are two characteristics you do not want to have in someone who is responsible for our nuclear arsenal and other aspects of our lives.
4)Many, many times we have discussed the disaster that is the inane concept, “defund the police.” Wherever this idiocy has been tried, chaos has resulted: much more crime in total, much more violent crime, demoralized police forces resulting in staffing shortages, etc. The politicians that have advocated for this concept should be held liable for the deaths and injuries that they caused.
One such politician is Washington DC Councilman, Phil Mendelson. Back in March of this year, he publicly stated that the “perception” of increased crime in the District overshadowed the reality: "I know this belies the common belief – and when it comes to crime, how people feel is important – but there is not a crime crisis in Washington, D.C."
Four short months later, he is singing a completely different tune: "You can get away with murder in this city." Which is certainly true, despite his ignorance back in March, since homicides in the District are up 17% over the past year while sex abuse is up 35% and robberies are up over 50%.
As a result of this sudden epiphany, Mendelson and his cohorts on the Council finally put forth rougher anti-crime legislation to finally recognize that their stupid defund the police stand was a total and often fatal failure, like it has been in many other cities that went down this ill fated and ridiculous path.
That will do it for today’s political class insanity: another defund the police city failure, Biden is a profane and angry old man, a Supreme Court Justice gets enriched at taxpayer expense, and California politicians do not care about the safety of American kids.
