March, 2014 - I Am A Global Warming Doubter And A Believer In Science, Part 1

On a regular basis we revisit a recurring theme in this blog, “I am a global warming doubter and a believer in science.” The genesis for this series was that I just got tired of people like Al Gore screaming and insulting people who may have a different take than theirs when it comes to global warming. That led to in-depth reviews and searches of scientific efforts and analyses to see if Al was right, namely that ALL scientists supported his theory of man made global warming.

Well, it did not take long to find that not ALL scientists believed in global warming., In fact, we found numerous SCIENTIFIC papers and analyses that were the polar opposite of Gore’s obnoxious rantings and proceeded to compile and discuss them on a regular basis. The last five part review started at the following link:

Also at that post you can directly access all of the previous posts where we show quite convincingly that Al may not even be close to being right on global warming, or its rebranded marketing name, climate change.

General findings from those previous discussion include the following facts and analyses:
  • The average temperatures around the world, according to government tracking, has been flat for about fifteen years now.
  • The ice caps have been growing in size over the past few years.
  • All of the climate change forecasting models that global warming advocates have produced have severely overestimated the anticipated increase in temperatures over the years, indicating that their models and assumptions are seriously flawed.
  • Different groups of global warming believing scientists were caught secretly discussing how to manipulate and hide their raw experimental data in their studies since it was not supporting their hypotheses and models of global warming.
  • Some scientists are actually forecasting a global cooling period in the near future, the exact opposite of what Al Gore is yelling about.
  • Depending on what and how carbon emissions are measured, the U.S. has reduced its carbon footprint over the past decade or so by anywhere from 10-20%, without massive government intervention, a reduction that dwarfs the reduction in carbon emissions of the rest of the world.
  • Even if the U.S. was to take drastic steps to reduce its carbon footprint, it would have virtually no impact on global warming, assuming it exists, since the carbon footprint of China, India, and other parts of the world is growing at a much faster rate, making any domestic only global warming action a hardship on Americans which would have minimal impact on the global environment.
  • The preeminent physic establishment in the world, the CERN Institute, showed a number of years ago via lab experiments that solar activity was the major factor in global warming historically, not man made activities.
  • In case global warming is actually a reality, we provided a strategy that could be deployed to keep everyone happy with a minimal cost and disruption to Americans’ lives and financial well being.
Since we published that last post, additional global warming news has occurred, news that we will review below:

1) We have pointed out this presentation before but every discussion about global warming should start out with this excellent analysis by physicist Gordon Fulks. Mr. Fulks meticulously goes through a mountain of data to prove that global warming, based on scientific research, is most likely be a myth. He uses real data and cites quotes from other scientists who are in agreement with his conclusions. A video of him presenting his findings and conclusions and an associated slide show of his presentation can be accessed at:

2) Early December, 2013 marked the five year anniversary of Al Gore making the following statement:

“Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.”

Five years later, December 2013, we are faced with the following realities:
  • Both ice caps have been growing, not shrinking over the past few years.
  • A global warming advocate Chris Turney, a professor of climate change at Australia’s University of New South Wales, and his expedition that went up to South Pole late last year and got stuck when their ship was caught in ice, requiring extension rescue efforts to save the people from their iced in ship.
  • According to the Gateway Pundit website, which was discussing the Al Gore disappearing North Pole ice cap forecast on the five year anniversary, it snowed in Cairo exactly on the five year anniversary day, the first time that had happened it 100 years.
  • Shortly after the anniversary of his disappearing North Pole ice cap forecast, the northern part of the United States was launched into a prolonged and record setting wave of frigid temperatures nicknamed the Polar Vortex which had swung down form the still ice laden North Pole.
The video of Al Gore making what turns out to be a tremendously incorrect forecast can be viewed at:

Another global warming forecast that turned to to be so wrong.

3) Here is another video clip of interest from someone who obviously believes in the scientific method but who also is a global warming doubter:

This interview of a gentleman named John Coleman touches on many of the topics we have already discussed. The thing that makes Mr. Coleman important is that he is the founder of the Weather Channel so it is probably a safe assumption that he knows something about the weather and climate. The topics he touches on include the following:
  • The North Pole is reversing its shrinkage and has grown considerably over the past few years.
  • The average earth temperature has not increased in sixteen years.
  • He cites scientific, peer reviewed research showing that we may be on the cusp of a new ice age.
  • Global warming hysteria may actually be causing the loss of life around the world as government’s try to reduce carbon emissions by diluting gas with corn based ethanol, a move that raises the price of food around the world and causes the level and intensity of starvation to rise without having much of a net effect, if any, on the environment.
Mr. Coleman presents a rational, well presented anti-global warming case based on science and facts.

4) The Personal Liberty Digest on January 7, 2014 had an interesting picture that was reputedly taken in January, 1912, long before anyone on any side of the global warming argument state that temps were rising do to mankind’s behavior.

The picture was of Commonwealth Bay, Antarctica. It was taken in 1912 and as you can see, the bay is free of ice and you actually can see some non-snow covered terrain in the background.

This is apparently the same area where the recent global warming expedition’s ship that we discussed above, the Akademik Shokalskiy, and where it got stuck, dead in the water, where it got ensnared by ice. The article containing this picture contends that the whole continent’s ice has increased to its highest level in 35 years.

5) In late 2013, the Obama administration issued an executive order to better prepare the country for global warming impacts, including issuing the following warning:

“The impacts of climate change — including an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures, more heavy downpours, an increase in wildfires, more severe droughts, permafrost thawing, ocean acidification, and sea-level rise — are already affecting communities, natural resources, ecosystems, economies, and public health across the Nation. These impacts are often most significant for communities that already face economic or health-related challenges, and for species and habitats that are already facing other pressures…. Managing these risks requires deliberate preparation, close cooperation, and coordinated planning by the Federal Government, as well as by stakeholders, to facilitate Federal, State, local, tribal, private-sector, and nonprofit-sector efforts to improve climate preparedness and resilience; help safeguard our economy, infrastructure, environment, and natural resources; and provide for the continuity of executive department and agency operations, services, and programs.”

However, just like many other President Obama assertions, e.g. “if you like your insurance plan you can keep your insurance plan, “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,” and many other deceptions or lies, this executive order relies on a false premise: we are not witnessing “an increase in prolonged periods of excessively high temperatures.” Earth temperatures have not increased at all for at least the past fifteen years.

This makes the premise and basis for this executive order totally bogus. But bogus is something we have learned to accept from this administration.

That will do it for today. We will finish our global warming doubter update series over the next few days. Our strategy and plan that should be implemented that makes humankind a winner whether or not global warming is a myth or reality can be accessed at:

In other words, there is a plan to cover all of the bases with minimal impacts on Americans, even if it does come from global warming doubters.
