But the failure did not start just in the past few weeks, it has been a twenty year disaster. It has cost American taxpayers about a trillion dollars, has left thousands of our brave armed forces folks dead, maimed, or wounded and has resulted in an unknown but substantial number of civilian deaths.

Afghanistan has been a collective failure of multiple Presidential administrations and multiple sessions of Congress. It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history

1) At one point in time, the FBI was probably one of the few, respected entities within the Federal government. However, over the years we have seen far too many incidents where they failed to do their job:

• After Omar Mateen shot up the Pulse nightclub in Miami a few years ago, killing dozens of patrons, it turned out the FBI had investigated him, based on info from his own father who just happened to be a former FBI informant, and found him not to be of any danger to anyone.
• Nikolas Cruz carried out a mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018, which was a shame since the FBI had been warned about him a month before the shooting but its bureaucracy screwed up and did not follow up on the warnings.
• For years, female FBI agents formally complained about the rampant sexual abuse they faced on the job, accusations that were never taken seriously: "It is the policy and practice of the FBI and its OIG to allow senior executives accused of sexual assault to quietly retire with full benefits without prosecution."
• The FBI’s investigation of Hilary Clinton’s illegal use of non-secure computers for emails was too screwed up to even begin discussing it here.
• The FBI was part of a plot to undercut Trump’s Presidential campaign and then to undercut his Presidency, with a high ranking FBI executive pleading guilty to editing official transcripts and other FBI personnel that should have been in jail for lying to the court, spying on innocent Americans etc.

We could go on but you get the idea: what was once perceived as a hardworking, unbiased, and effective law enforcement agency has now become a biased, ineffective, occasionally lawless, and political animal.

And the latest scandal may be their most despicable failure ever:

• Larry Nassar was the team doctor for the USA Gymnastics team for almost two decades.
• But it also turns out that over that span of time he was also a serial sexual molester of young gymnasts.
• And it turns out that the FBI knew about his despicable behavior for years and did nothing about it.
• The FBI was informed of his abusive behaviors in 2015, an accusation that was further verified two months later when gymnast McKayla Maroney told them the same abuse story as it applied to herself.
• But according to the FBI’s inspector general, the agency committed many, many missteps in this investigation including not following proper agency procedures, falsifying Maroney’s witness statements, and taking way too long to finalize its report.
• The FBI’s bungling allowed Nassar to go on and abuse at least 70 other victims between 2015 and Nassar’s arrest, not by the FBI, but by local law enforcement in 2016.
• The inspector general concluded that the FBI behavior in this after was so bad that it crossed the line into the realm of criminal misconduct.

Another Federal government agency bites the dust as far as being efficient, effective, and within integrity. Unfortunately, its incompetence resulted in unnecessary deaths and sexual abuse of American citizens, a basic failure of a basic government function, to protect the lives and property of the citizens it is paid to protect.

2) The United States Congress has seen its reputation and approval ratings steadily sink over the past few decades. This is not a surprise when you consider the following realities:

• The DC political class has run up over $28 TRILLION in national debt without making a significant improvement in Americans’ lives given all of that spending.
• The two main retirement programs that tens of millions of Americans rely on, Medicare and Social Security, are hurtling towards financial insolvency.
• Americans have stood by and watched long time DC politicians get obscenely wealthy, given their insider information position, attaining wealth far beyond what their government salaries have paid them.
• They have stood by and watched many, many DC politicians make the plight of illegal immigrants much more important than the homelessness, hunger, and drug addiction plight of American citizens.
• They have been appalled at how stupid many members of Congress and the White House have been, e.g. the Georgia Congressman who actually thought the island of Guam could capsize, the Texas Congresswoman who believes that North Vietnam and South Vietnam still exist as separate government entities despite that not being the case for over 45 years, etc.

And things haven't gotten any better since Biden became President:

• The approval rating for Congress has dropped a whopping 13 points since January.
• A Monmouth University poll found that the approval rating for Congress went from only 35% in January to a dismal 22% in its latest poll.
• And let's face it, a starting point of 35% approval rating is not anything to brag about to begin with.
• At the same time, its disapproval ratings went from 51% in January to 65% in the most recent poll.
• Back in January, only 42% said the country was going in the right direction but eight months later the poll found that only 29% think the country is going in the right direction.

Given that Congress is behaving this badly without term limits, how much worse could it get if we forced term limits on DC politicians? When only about one in four Americans thinks we are going in the right direction, forcing out long term politicians after time limited terms seems like a worthwhile endeavor.

3) Way too often we have discussed the horrible and fatal consequences of “defunding the police '' in many liberal/Democrat controlled cities. By reducing their city police forces, without having any idea how to replace their function, these cities have seen explosions in crime, violence, and murders.

In addition to reducing the funding and staffing of their police forces, these politicians often demeaned and belittled their remaining police resources. This caused the local criminal classes to disrespect the police even more while demoralizing the law enforcement officers attitudes.

Portland, Oregon has been one of the leading cities when it comes to defunding the police, led by its inept mayor Ted Wheeler. And under his leadership and advocating for defunding the Portland Police Department, we end up with the following debacle:

• The police response 911 system in Portland has now been labelled as officially “broken” by city officials.
• Citizens of Portland that need immediate police help often have to wait more than two minutes for a 911 operator to answer their distress 911 call, orders of magnitude longer than the target answer rate, less than 15 seconds.
• An extreme example happened in the city on September 4 when calls to 911 to report a shooting at a city restaurant waited about seven and a half minutes before a 911 operator picked up.
• The local newspaper, the Oregonian, reported the incident and pointed out that the national wait time for 911 calls is 15-20 seconds.
• Furthermore, the Oregonian reported that, “Compared to March, when only eight 911 calls took more than five minutes to answer, that number increased to 221 in May and more than doubled to 574 in July.”
• While the city’s 911 system was failing, Portland homicides increased from 28 in 2019 to almost double, 54, in 2020.

As with other liberally governed cities, members of the police force and 911 team in Portland have resigned or retired in staggering numbers, putting more strain on those officers and 911 response people who remain. When you don't have the resources or the support of local politicians to properly do your job, the frustration gets so bad that leaving a job becomes the logical decision.

Rather than fix what the “defund the police” movement did to Portland, city politicians have proposed that citizens call 311, the city information line, for situations that do not require an immediate police response. However, that number is only staffed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Thus, not a good answer to the broken system that city politicians created.

Another day of insanity from American politicians: another defund the police disaster, Congress continues to disappoint and tick off Americans, and the FBI becomes just another ineffective, inefficient, and broken government entity.

1) We have often asserted that a very, very basic function of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the citizens in their jurisdiction. Even if the politicians running a government entity accomplish a lot of other objectives, failing to protect lives and property means they are a failure.

And these types of failure have been occurring more and frequently in mostly liberal/Democratic controlled cities over the past year as these politicians got on the “defund the police '' movement. They decided to defund the police, belittle them in public and demoralize their police forces, all of which led to more violence, more crime, and more murders. In other words, they failed in their very basic government function: protect lives and property.

The failed politicians in Milwaukee, Wisconsin are a perfect example of this fatal foolishness:

• Milwaukee politicians got on the defund the police movement about a year ago.
• As a result, murders were up a whopping 93% in 2020 vs. 2019.
• There were 189 murders in 2020 and the murder rate will likely be even higher in 2021.
• There have already been 127 murders in the city this year with five months left to go.
• The majority of these murders have been in black dominated city areas, the very type of people that defunding the police were supposed to help.

Another example of politicians knee jerking to the most recent media hysteria with fatal consequences for those they are supposed to protect.

2) The American political class has screwed up during the pandemic so many, many times. Many times we have pointed out how American politicians have ignored the very regulations and rules they have put in place to address the pandemic dangers:

• The mayor of Chicago shut down most of her city, including hair salons, but forced her hair salon to open just for her to get her hair done, something no other Chicago woman could do.
• The mayor of Beaumont, Texas also shut down her city but forced her favorite nail salon to open only for her to get her nails done, something no other Beaumont woman could do.
• The governor of California drastically shut down most of his state, ordering masks to be worn everywhere but was shown to be out at a dinner with many other guests, none of whom were wearing a mask.
• A New York Congresswoman went to a NYC benefit event dressed in the most hideous dress and not wearing a mask while all of the non-celebrities working the benefit wore a mask as required by the city government and mayor.

Unfortunately, a lot of politicians put their faith in Anthony Fauci, NIAID director of the NIH. And his performance has been underwhelming:

• First, early on in the pandemic, he said there was no need for face masks since they would not stop the covid droplets.
• Then a few months later he said everyone should wear a mask to stop the spread of covid, a direct contradiction of what he has previously said about masks being ineffective.
• Then a few months later he said everyone should wear TWO masks to make sure they did not get covid, a direct contradiction of what he had said previously, i.e., masks are no good, one mask is good enough, but now we all needed to wear two masks.
• He denied that he oversaw American taxpayer money being sent overseas to the Chinese government’s virus research center in Wuhan, China.
• But uncovered documents now show that he lied about that also in that he was involved in the decision to send American taxpayer money to the lab that in all likelihood developed and then lost control of the covid virus.
• And yet, politicians all over the country continued to follow his ever changing advice and lies. Well, finally some real scientists got together and using their collective science and research knowledge, slapped him down along with the politicians that blindly followed his advice:
• A group of 16 renowned scientists recently published an article in the famous medical journal, The Lancet.
• They repudiated a joint letter that Fauci and others, many of whom were associated with EcoHealth Alliance, put out that covid originated in nature, not a Chinese lab that he helped fund.
• Fauci allegedly funneled the money to the Chinese lab via EcoHealth.
• Specifically, Fauci and his compatriots put out a letter disputing the lab theory: “We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin.”
• But a group of 16 scientists have called out the falseness of the letter in a new article in The Lancet
• The article claims that “there is no direct support for the natural origin of SARS-CoV-2, and a laboratory-related accident is plausible. There is so far no scientifically validated evidence that directly supports a natural origin.”
• In addition,“Neither the host pathway from bats to humans nor the geographical route from Yunnan (where the viruses most closely related to SARS-CoV-2 have been sampled) to Wuhan (where the pandemic emerged) have been identified. More than 80 000 samples collected from Chinese wildlife sites and animal farms all proved negative."
• The 16 scientists then went on to criticize Fauci et al for using science for political and personal agendas, basically bastardizing the scientific process.

Unfortunately Fauci and his advocates in politics and the media have attacked and belittled those that had a different viewpoint for over a year. And now 16 scientists have shown that Fauci and those advocates are likely to have been wrong and more importantly, used science in an immoral and disgusting way.

3) When an educated person talks about “infrastructure” the almost unanimous consensus is that infrastructure includes roads, dams, subways, train lines, etc. However, when Democrats in Washington talk about infrastructure, they expand that definition to include anything that interests them even if it doesn't relate to roads, dams, etc. Consider what Washington liberals want to put into the now infamous “Biden Infrastructure” legislation:

• $7.5 billion for electric vehicles.
• $7.5 billion for zero and low-emission buses and ferries.
• A billion dollars for “The Reconnecting Communities Initiative aimed to help cities rectify damage caused by highways built through minority neighborhoods.”
• $21 billion for some boondoggle called “environmental justice,” a concept I dare anyone to translate from the word mash used to describe the effort: “The deal invests $21 billion in environmental remediation, making the largest investment in addressing the legacy pollution that harms the public health of communities and neighborhoods in American history, creating good-paying union jobs in hard-hit energy communities and advancing economic and environmental justice.”
• AMTRAK has been one of the most inefficient, ineffective and wasteful spending programs EVER, as we have previously discussed, and yet Washington Democrats want to throw another $66 billion at this fiscal and operational disaster.

Billions and billions of dollars spent on vanity and wasteful, useless programs, a Washington staple.

That will do it for today: a bizarro world where “infrastructure” can mean anything a powerful politician wants, Fauci and politicians bastardize science, and another defund the police city gets a rude awakening.

1) Way too many times we have shown the pathetic attitude that American politicians have for everyday Americans with their “do as I say, not as I do attitude.” Politicians are real good passing down strict and anti-freedom rules and regulations relative to the pandemic, lockdowns, masks, etc. but always think that their very own rules do not apply to them:

• The mayor of Chicago shut down most of her city, including hair salons, but forced her hair salon to open just for her to get her hair done, something no other Chicago woman could do.
• The mayor of Beaumont, Texas also shut down her city but forced her favorite nail salon to open only for her to get her nails done, something no other Beaumont woman could do.

And the hypocrisy continues, this time out in Nevada:

• This past September 11, casino billionaire, Steve Wynn, held a Las Vegas costume party in remembrance of the September 11 terror attacks and in honor of his ex-wife.
• Many Democratic Party bigwigs attended the party including a Nevada US Senator and US Congresswoman attended the gala event.
• The day before the event, the Nevada Democratic governor declared that masks had to be worn anytime people were gathered indoors.
• Both the Senator and Congresswoman were photographed partying without any masks.
• Besides the governor’s declaration and mask requirement, the event was held at The Cosmopolitan club, a venue that has a stated policy that “all guests” must wear masks while inside.
• The Senator had been a big supporter of wearing a mask while inside, recently saying that “we can beat this pandemic” by acting “together.”
• And yet, she is partying with the rich folks of Las Vegas, many of which give her campaign funds, without a mask on.

The hypocrisy never ends, and it doesn’t end in Las Vegas:

• Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney is the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and he recently ignored a State Department travel warning by traveling to France, where he was seen without a mask at a party thrown by a billionaire.
• Senator Elizabeth Warren was also seen maskless at the indoor wedding of Interior Secretary Deb Haaland in New Mexico

Turns out our political class is also an elitist class of hypocritical, condescending useless public servants.

2) One of the most frequently recurring posts in this blog over the years has been the ceaseless and ever escalating violence in the city of Chicago. A very, very basic function of government is to protect the lives and property of the people that the government serves. Thus, current and previous politicians in Chicago have been abject failures in executing that primary government function.

And under the leadership of current mayor, Lori Lightfoot, the violence and fatalities continue to get worse and worse:

• Fifty four Chicago residents were shot during the past weekend in Chicago.
• Nine of those shot died from their wounds.
• Six of those nine fatalities occurred in a short, four hour stretch of time Saturday morning.
• Most, if not all of the six fatalities, happened in the early, early morning hours, not a good time to be on the streets of Chicago.
• Sixty people were shot the previous weekend and over 3,100 have been shot through September of this year.
• Another 56 were shot through Thursday of last week before the weekend started.

And the death beat goes on without a single city politician having a clue to how to at least curtail the violence.

3) The helter-skelter withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a historical debacle. Biden had no clue, no plan, and no awareness of what was needed and what the ramifications would be of his idiocy in this matter. As a result, his hasty, sloppy and fatal withdrawal left an unknown number of Americans trapped behind Taliban roadblocks and barricades, their lives hanging by a thread.

And although Biden’s press secretary, Jen Psaki, and New York Senator Chuck Schumer are trying to minimize the number of Americans left behind, with Schumer actually stated the ridiculous idea that all of the Americans who wanted to get out got out, at a recent Congressional hearing Secretary of State Antony Blinken finally admitted what we all knew: there at least about 100 American citizens that Biden left behind and possibly several thousand permanent resident/U.S. green card holders that were also left behind.

Blinken claimed that his State Department is in “constant contact” with those thousands who are still stranded within the clutches of the terroristic and cut-throat Taliban. He claimed each citizen has been assigned a “case management team” to provide instructions on how to get out of the country, for whatever that is worth, given there are no U.S. diplomatic or military assets left in the country.

When pressed on how many green card holders were trapped, he admitted that he did not have a good estimate, another aspect of failure for Biden’s withdrawal debacle.

What a mess. When Fox News White House reporter, Peter Doocy, asked press secretary Psaki whose fault it was that so many hundreds, if not thousands, were left behind, she walked away and claimed “it was not about fault.” It was somebody’s fault, Jen, even if you will not stand up and answer a very legitimate and possibly fatal question for those left behind.

4) One last piece of insanity for today. We have often cited the idiocy that many liberal city politicians followed when they defunded their police departments in the face of the George Floyd murder and riots. We have also talked about the fatal fallout and failure such actions were, with crime, violence and deaths rising significantly as fewer police resources were deployed to contain crime.

The center of the insanity was the city of Minneapolis, the city where Floyd was murdered. Consider watching the following video clip where you find out that the fallout from defunding the city police department, in addition to demeaning and discrediting the police, resulted in more crime, more violence, more deaths, and law abiding citizens forming their own militia to protect their lives and property:

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

1) In the wake of the George Floyd murder last year, there were riots and protests across the country and many politicians jumped on the inane bandwagon to “defund the police.” Many city politicians actually went through with this stupidity and slashed local police budgets and staffing.

At the time we compared their actions to someone trying to design and test a new parachute AFTER they had jumped out of an airplane, before they had done any testing to see if their new parachute concept would work. Same thing here, they defunded the police with no clue what would happen, kind of like every other decision American politicians make.

Well, a good amount of time has passed since the defund the police hysteria started and guess what:

• Crime and violence has skyrocketed across the country with the worst increases apparently happening in cities that actually defunded their police resources.
• Portland, Oregon, the leader in defund the police movement, has actually had a change of heart and its inept mayor, Ted Wheeler, is now saying he will take action to put more funds back into the city’s police department.
• And if Portland and its mayor is backing off the defund the police idiocy, then reality is finally hitting these politicians in the face on how stuoid this concept was from the start.

Unfortunately, a lot of people were killed and injured because of this failed concept put forth by a failed set of American politicians.

2) Oregon politicians have had a rough time lately when it comes to getting anything right. We just talked about the insanity in Portland and its joke of a mayor, Ted Wheeler. The governor of the state has been one of the strictest when it came to locking down the state from a covid perspective even though Oregon has recently seen a sharp increase in covid cases despite the governor's orders.

As a result of these two pieces of insanity and other reasons, there is a significant movement across Oregon to secede from the state and become part of Idaho. Seems a lot of the non-coastal areas in Oregon are pretty conservative in their views and quite opposed to the views and actions of those politicians that are mostly based closer to the west coast:

• On May 18th, voters in five Oregon counties voted to leave Oregon and become part of Idaho.
• According to reporting by the Epoch Times: “Voters in Malheur, Sherman, Grant, Baker, and Lake counties approved various measures that require county officials to take steps to look into moving the Idaho border west to incorporate the counties.”
• These eastern, more rural counties believe life would be better off for them if they were aligned with the more conservative politics of Idaho.
• The leader of the secession movement is Mike McCarter: “This election proves that rural Oregon wants out of Oregon. Oregon really believes in liberal values such as self-determination, the Legislature won’t hold our counties captive against our will. If we’re allowed to vote for which government officials we want, we should be allowed to vote for which government we want as well.”
• This brings to seven counties whose voters want to leave the state of Oregon with two other counties scheduling similar votes in the near future.
• This would leave Oregon as a much smaller state mostly liberal voters focused around the bigger state cities.
• The seven counties still face some heavy duty obstacles.
• The secession would have to be approved by the liberal controlled Oregon state legislature which is not likely.
• If it gets past the legislature, then Oregon and Idaho would have to negotiate an interstate transfer arrangement and then the U.S. Congress would have to approve the changes.

Certainly some obstacles are in place but the first step, and possibly the most important step has been successful: citizens demanding that they deserve to be freer than they are under the current geographic arrangement. We wish them well in their quest to get better political representation that in turn gets them some of their lost freedom back.

In the coming months two more Oregon counties: Harney and Douglas will conduct votes on similar measures. Greater Idaho’s McCarter told The Epoch Times that Idaho state Representatives Republicans Barbara Ehardt and Judy Boyle are set to introduce a bill about relocation of the Idaho-Oregon state line in January of next year.

3) Nancy Pelosi is from California. California is a state in a state of serious decline:

• It is home to the largest homeless population in the country.
• It has some of the highest tax burdens in the country.
• It has some of the highest utility and gas prices in the country.
• It has some of the highest crime cities in the country.
• It has one of the highest poverty rates in the country.
• It has some of the worst public education results in the country.

It is a state in decline. One would hope that a powerful woman like Pelosi would use her clout to fix some of the many problems affecting her home state. But as always hope that an American politician would do the right thing is always a fruitless endeavor:

• Pelosi has diverted a whopping $200 million to her own Congressional district within the ridiculous, inflation causing $3.5 TRILLION infrastructure program.
• But the $200 million is not to feed or shelter the homeless, it is not to fix the state’s failing public schools, etc.
• It's to make $200 million worth of improvements to a park in San Francisco.
• The Presidio is an existing park so the $200 million is not even to build a new park, it is to fix an existing park.
• It is also the home of the San Francisco Golf Club, a golf club that is used by local millionaires and high ranking local Democratic politicians.

Another case of atrocious priorities by an American politician. Americans are homeless and hungry, Federal spending is out of control and she somehow thinks fixing up a golf course for rich people is a good idea.

Consider some pretty disgusting numbers:

• There are about 160,000 homeless Americans living on the streets of California.
• Based on a national average of food banks, that $200 million could provide about 68 million meals to homeless Americans.
• This means that every homeless person in California could receive three meals a day for about 141 days, certainly a better use of money than fixing up a golf course.

And why should Pelosi’s district get so much American taxpayer money for a single park.

If we assume every American,and thus, every Americans’ member of Congress is equal, then it would cost an outrageous $110 billion to give every Congressional district a $200 million park renovation.

Unbelievable chutzpah on her part and a tremendous and bad priority/waste of taxpayer wealth. Federal government tax money should never be spent on such local projects, that is for the city or state government to spend their own money for rich golfers.

4) One last piece of insanity for today. Vice President Kamala Harris was put in charge of the border crisis months and months ago. She has obviously been an abject failure in resolving the problem.The most recent example of her failure is the reality that thousands of illegal immigrants are daily coming across the border by the Texas town of Del Rio and they have set up an illegal encampment under a highway overpass as they wait and try to get into the country.

This encampment is obviously illegal but more importantly, it is going to be a breeding ground for covid, measles, and who knows what other kind of disease as there are no sanitation or other health facilities onsite. The Americans in Del Rio are obviously upset and concerned for their health, welfare, and their lives.

But like most American politicians, Kamala Harris could care less about their welfare and safety. While this border crisis has been growing out of control and more and more dangerous every day, Harris decided it was more important for her to go to a college football game and do the pregame coin toss, Americans in danger be damned.

The defund the police movement continues to implode, Oregon residents yearning for freedom and doing their best to get it, Pelosi continues to be a lowly, greedy, self-serving politician rather than a national leader, and for Kamala Harris, a photo op is more important than American lives.

September, 2021, Part 7, Political Class Insanity: More Political "Do As I say, Not As I Do" Hypocrisy, More Congressional Insider Trading Shenanigans, and The Sinking Biden Presidency Ship

Before we get to today’s insanity, please consider the following proposition: as many of you know, the withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a historic and fatal endeavor. But the failure did not start just in the past few weeks, it has been a twenty year disaster. It has cost American taxpayers about a trillion dollars, has left thousands of our brave armed forces folks dead, maimed, or wounded and has resulted in an unknown but substantial number of civilian deaths.

Afghanistan has been a collective failure of multiple Presidential administrations and multiple sessions of Congress. Thus, please consider signing the petition below that calls for the immediate resignation of every member of Congress that has at least twenty years of service and the resignation of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and critical, and failed, members of the Biden Administration. 1) Far too many times during the pandemic we have seen politicians demand that regular citizens obey dictatorial edicts by the politicians while at the same time they ignored the very restrictions on freedom and behaviors they imposed on the rest of us:

• Chicago mayor, Lori Lightfoot, shut down all non-essential businesses during the height of the pandemic including hairdressers, but forced her hairdresser to open to get her hair styled while denying that right to others.
• The mayor of Beaumont, Texas did the same thing but forced her nail salon to open to get her nails done while denying that pleasure to everyone else in Beaumont.
• California governor, Gavin Newsom, forced citizens to wear face masks whenever they were out and about but attended a fancy dinner at a fancy indoor restaurant where he and no one else in his dinner party were wearing masks.

You get the idea, “do as I say, not as I do,” the motto of the American political class. And that tradition of hypocrisy and elitism continues today with Biden’s latest idiocy relative to the pandemic:

• Biden has declared that just about every American needs to get the covid vaccine regardless of their religious, medical, and personal freedom reasons for not taking it.
• Of course, millions of Americans object to being dictated to with a highly likely illegal and unConstitutional order.
• But the real hypocrisy is who is immediately exempted from getting a mandatory vaccine.
• The over one million illegal immigrants that have illegally entered the country since Biden took office are exempt from the vaccine decree.
• The tens of thousands of Afghan refugees Biden is bringing into the country are exempt from the vaccine decree.
• At least initially, the untold thousands of postal employees were exempted from the vaccine decree; there is some confusion if that exemption is still in place.
• And the worst exemption of all: all members of Congress and their 31,000 Congressional staffers are also exempt from the vaccine decree.

Unbelievable. The regular tax paying, heart of the country citizens are being dictated to stick chemicals into their body whether they want to or not. Illegal immigrants, Afghan refugees, postal workers and anybody associated with Congress get exempted. A prime “do as I say, not as I do” hypocrisy.

2) The “STOCK Act ''was enacted so that members of Congress do not trade on insider government information to sell and buy stocks and other investments, a habit that made many, many members of Congress quite wealthy. After the original legislation was passed, Congress and Obama silently weakened the tenets of the act and provided loopholes for members of Congress to still get wealthy, just made it more difficult to do.

And even with the lessened stringency, members of Congress are still getting caught with some shady financial dealings:

• A DC watchdog group recently asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate Congresswoman Katherine Clark.
• The claim is that the Congresswoman did not disclose $285,000 in financial transactions in a timely manner.
• Ms. Clark is not a newbie member of Congress, she is the assistant Speaker of the House.
• And she is not the only one who is under the STOCK microscope including Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.
• Specifically, Clark is alleged of not properly disclosing 19 personal stock transactions within the required 45 days that her husband transacted.
• The value of the transactions were substantial, ranging from $19,019 to $285,000.
• The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust allege that Wasserman Schultz, Congresswomen Kathy Castor and Lori Trahanm, and Senator Mark Kelly also didn’t disclose financial transactions in a timely manner.

These folks should know better. They receive training on what they need to do and how quickly they need to report transactions. Wasserman Schultz waited almost a year to report her family’s transactions, far beyond the 45 day requirement. But we should not be surprised. American politicians always seem to think that laws and regulations are merely suggestions for them, not hard core rules. More “do as I say, not as I do” hypocrisy.

3) Eight months into the Biden Presidency and it has been a mess:

• A debacle of a withdrawal from Afghanistan that unnecessarily killed many many Americans and Afghanis.
• Biden’s incompetence has antagonized our friends around the world while emboldening our enemies, Russia, China, North Korea and Iran.
• There is raging inflation across all aspects of life.
• A covid, drug cartel, drug addiction, humanitarian, human trafficking, criminal gang, and juvenile sexual abuse crisis continues on the border.
• A government covid mandate that is dictatorial and unConstitutional.
• A President that has the mental capacity of a seven year old after suffering severe elder abuse by his wife, his family, and his political handlers.

It is a sinking ship and many of those on that ship are already abandoning the sinking ship only eight months into the term:

• Chief of staff for the Department of Homeland Security, Karen Olick, has decided to resign.
• Given the disaster on the border, who can blame her, somebody is going to take the fall for this fiasco and she probably wants out before she catches the blame.
• Why else would someone resign from such a high profile job just 8 months into it?
• Two highly trained FDA vaccine experts, Philip Krause, and Marion Gruber, have also resigned because they did not agree with Biden’s plan for a third covid booster shot.
• Again, it must be bad if trained scientists resign from likely high paying government jobs because of the ignorance of the President.
• Biden, untrained in science, vaccines, medicine, or any relevant discipline wants everyone to get a third covid shot while these trained scientists recently wrote a paper that stated, “current evidence does not, therefore, appear to show a need for boosting in the general population, in which efficacy against severe disease remains high.”
• Given that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken came off as a total incompetent in front of Congress recently, he may also be heading out.

For whatever reason, the rats seem to be abandoning ship just eight short months into the cruise, giving up careers and high paying jobs. The Biden Presidency is a disaster already and shows no sign of getting better anytime soon, another failed set of political hacks and career bureaucrats.

More “do as I say, not as I do” from the American political class, more greed and self enrichment from the same set of people, and the sinking Biden Presidency.

1)We have often discussed the sad, sad condition life in California has become because of so many negative factors:

• The homeless population is large and growing larger everyday.

• The tax burden on business and residents is one of the highest in the country.

• Gasoline prices are among the highest in the nation if not the highest.

• Utility prices are, on average, 50% or so higher in the state than nationally.

• Crime is surging in most California cities.

• The state government is facing an unpayable and unfunded financial liability burden of close to a trillion dollars.

• In many cities, not only is public defecation, urination, and illegal drug use rampant but not illegal.

• The state business community faces probably the most stringent and oppressive government regulations in the country.

• Housing prices are the highest in the country.

You get the idea, life kinda sucks if you live in California and are not among the rich Hollywood or Silicon Valley types. As a result, many residents and businesses have moved out of the state and for the first time ever, the state is seeing its population shrink and its Congressional representation being reduced.

And from the list above, it is obvious that most of the above crises have been created by a totally inept political class that is clueless on how to operate a lean, efficient, and effective state government that does not excessively  infringe on the freedom and economic state of the people and businesses in the state.

A recent study from Stanford University reinforces the notion that people and businesses are getting out of the state as quickly as possible, looking for more freedom, less taxation and regulation, and a better quality of life:

• The study found that more California businesses have left the state in 2021 so far this year than the total that left the state in all of 2020.

• The rate of businesses leaving the state is about twice what the out migration rate was in 2020.

• The study also concluded that the increase in 2021 might be under-stated since the very small businesses that leave do not get any media attention for their exit and just quietly fade away to another out-of-state location.

• The study gave the standard reason why people and businesses are fleeing California: high taxes, impossible regulations, expensive labor, crippling energy expenses, and a declining personal quality of life.

• Stephen Green, who writes for PJ Media, claims that California is now the most oppressive state when it comes to starting any kind of small business.

• The top destinations for California businesses to relocate to include Arizona, Texas, and Tennessee, the latter two of which have no state income tax.

When businesses keep leaving a state, the financial death spiral can become quite steep: government’s business tax revenues are reduced, jobs are lost further reducing tax revenue, charities who benefited from local business charitable donations suffer, etc.

 

People want to be free, as we have always said, whether it is a household leaving because of high taxes, high utility costs, high gas prices etc. or a business leaving for similar reasons, people and the businesses they run will go where their financial happiness and quality of life happiness is optimized. And right now, California politicians have made it possible that California is not in that happiness equation.

2) We talk about the violence in Chicago way too often but it keeps getting worse so we will continue to discuss the failure of the entire state, county, and local political class in Illinois and Chicago to fix this distressing and fatal problem. As we have stated before, a very, very basic function of any government entity is to protect the lives and property of the voters it serves. No matter how well a government entity does anything else, if they cannot protect lives and property then it is a failure.

And nobody fails in that basic premise than those responsible for public safety in Chicago:

• In a recent Friday to Saturday 24 hour period, 30 people were shot in Chicago.

• One city resident was just sitting in her car when someone came by and fatally shot her in the head.

• A 24 year old man was shot and killed on the street at 5:00 pm, broad daylight.

• Another woman was shot when she was simply walking to her car.

• Obviously, many of those being shot, and killed, in the city are not hard core gang members or hardened criminals, just innocent bystanders.

• Year to date there have been over 3,100 shootings in the city.

• There have been over 530 homicides in the city so far this year.

• Less than two weeks into the month of September, 27 people have already been killed in the city.

Again, if you are a politician that has been elected to public office in government and you cannot protect the lives of those who elected you, then you are a failure relative to the very basic government tenet, protect the lives and property of your voters. And Chicago politicians, day after day, week after week, etc. continue to be the biggest failures in the country.

3) It does get tiresome pointing out the failures and outright criminal behavior of so many politicians in America today. Just recently we discussed the indictment of a Wsiconsin U.S. Senate candidate who is accused of taking campaign donations and using it for personal expenses. 

And now we have a former Indiana mayor getting found guilty of criminal activity:

• James Snyder is the former mayor of Portage, Indiana.

• A Federal jury recently convicted him on a bribery charge for asking for and receiving money for the awarding of city contracts.

• He was accused of receiving $13,000 linked to the awarding of $1.125 in city contracts.

• He faces up to ten years in jail.

The good news is that he got caught and convicted. The bad news is, given the lack of morals throughout the American political class, we can only guess how other American politicians are doing similar illegal dealings but have not gotten caught.

That will do it for today: California dreaming is now a nightmare, Chicago is still a killing zone, and a crooked politician gets what he deserves.
