November, 2021, Part 5, Political Class Insanity: Inflation Out Of Control, Stealing From Kids, Covid Mask Mandate Fails, and Hillary Feels The Heat

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) Freedom has always been a cornerstone of life in this country. Unfortunately, the covid pandemic brought out the worst in tyranny when it came to American politicians imposing their personal and often ill informed rules and dictates on citizens. It got to a point where it appeared that some politicians in this country were infected with a god complex and ordered citizens to toe the line that they dictated, freedom be damned.

While this tyranny was horrible, it appears that the tyranny placed more citizens in danger than those politicians and government entities that took a more freedom based, personal choice approach:
  • Politicians in five states have forced significant mask mandates on their citizens in an ill fated attempt to control the covid vaccine: Illinois, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon ,and Washington.
  • Washington DC also has stringent mask mandates and requirements.
  • Florida, on the other hand, has had much less stringent mask requirements.
  • And yet, those five states and DC have far higher covid infection rates than Florida and the rates of infection are going up, not down.
  • For example, Illinois has an infection rate of 45 per 100,000, 3112 infections per day, a rate that is up 49% over the recent past.
  • In Nevada, a state with substantial mask mandates, the infection rate is 24 per 100,000 and is up 15% in the past two weeks.
  • The rate in New Mexico is 61 and is up 46% in the past two weeks.
  • Oregon, a state that has both an indoor and outdoor set of mask mandates, has a rate of 22.
  • And yet Florida, my current home state, a state with very little mask mandates, has an infection rate of only 7 per 100,000, a fraction of the rate that highly masked states are seeing.
  • The Florida rate is tied with Hawaii with the lowest rates in the country.
  • But Hawaii has self quarantined the state with very strict travel restrictions so they are an outlier case.
Bottom line is that while politicians in some states were imposing strict and quite possibly stupid covid mask rules on their population, while at the same time personally ignoring the very mandates they put in place, a major, heavily populated state went more lax on mask mandates and is performing much better and much safer. Freedom always wins regardless of what politicians say.

2) In our previous post, we discussed the case of a Pittsburgh woman that had defrauded government welfare programs of well over $100,000. But it's not just regular citizens that are tempted to steal what isn't theirs, American politicians are not below stealing what isn't theirs either:
  • A former mayor of Atlantic City, New Jersey was recently sentenced to one month in prison and 11 months of home confinement.
  • He was found guilty of defrauding a youth basketball team out of $86,000.
  • He pleaded guilty to the charges which led to his sentencing.
  • He used the funds for luxury clothing, expensive meals, and trips, all of which were unrelated to the basketball team he was using to scam the dollars for his personal use.
  • He also faces three years probation and has to pay back the stolen funds.
How low a person do you have to be to steal from a youth basketball team? But being a low person is often the case of American politicians.

3) For us older folks, we remember the high inflation days of the Jimmy Carter era. Mortgage rates at almost 20%, inflation rampaging through the economy and Carter having no clue how to fix it. His economic policies and the high inflation that followed stunted economic growth and robbed citizens, especially living on a fixed income, of their ability to get through life.

Well, it turns out that Biden is looking to return us to those days of high inflation:
  • In September, wholesale prices rose an amazing and distressing 8.6% compared to September, 2020.
  • An October inflation estimate showed that inflation was approaching a 30 year high.
  • According to the Associated Press: "The Labor Department reported Tuesday that its producer price index — which measures inflation before it hits consumers — rose 0.6% last month from September, pushed higher by surging gasoline prices. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, wholesale inflation was up 0.4% in October from September and 6.8% from a year ago. More than 60% of the September-October increase in overall producer prices was caused by a 1.2% increase in the price of wholesale goods as opposed to services. A 6.7% jump in wholesale gasoline prices helped drive goods prices up."
  • And worse than the high inflation numbers, which is making everything from gas at the pumps to Thanksgiving meal ingredients to used cars more expensive, apparently the Biden administration has no clue how to fix the situation: "It will be more expensive this year than last year," Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm recently said during an interview with CNN.
Great, politicians break another aspect of our lives and readily admit they have no clue how to fix what they broke as the average American’s wages buy less and less every day.

4) One major problem with American politicians today is that they are more concerned with getting into office and staying there, the needs of their voters, the legality of their actions, and the honor or doing things right, and legal, be damned.

And no one personifies such behavior than the Clinton crime family, as we are beginning to unravel the false Trump narrative that Hillary colluded with the Russians to get elected. In reality, the entire Russian crisis may have been a coordinated effort to divert attention from Hillary Clinton’s illegal and dangerous email use of an unsecured computer server:
  • Justice Department lawyer, John Durham, has been investigating the whole Russian episode for a few years now.
  • He has finally started handing down indictments and arresting people as he uncovers the likely reality that the whole Trump/Russian matter was totally fictional.
  • He recently had two people arrested for their participation and lying to the FBI related to the Russian collusion theory, Michael Sussmann and Igor Danchenko.
  • Danchenko is alleged to have been the fictional storyteller for much of the lies and misinformation that went into the infamous Steele dossier which set the whole Trump/Russian collusion myth into action.
  • And while everyone was focused on the collusion theory, Hillary’s crimes faded slowly into the background, thanks to her high ranking friends at the FBI, James Comey and Peter Strzok.
  • And Sussmann and Danchenkomasy are just the tip of Durham’s spear as he starts to roll up the culprits who lied and bankrolled the mythical collusion theory.
  • The Danchenko indictment contains information that takes the investigation one step closer to Hillary Clinton via an important Hillary aide, Charles Dolan Jr.
  • Part of the Danchenko indictment alleges that he was charged with “concealing the fact that Dolan was one of his sources for the information he gave to former British spy Christopher Steele.”
  • According to Durham, Dolan fabricated the “allegation that Trump paid prostitutes to urinate on a bed in a Moscow hotel on which President Obama supposedly slept,” a story that was a total lie.
  • Former federal prosecutor, Andrew McCarthy, sums everything up nicely: “It appears that Durham theorizes that the Trump-Russia collusion narrative was a political attack manufactured by the Clinton campaign. Relying on Danchenko, Steele compiled the reports for Glenn Simpson, co-founder of intelligence firm Fusion-GPS, which specializes in digging up political dirt. Fusion-GPS was retained for the Trump project by Perkins-Coie, the Clinton campaign’s law firm.”
  • By the way, Sussman worked for Perkins-Cole.
What a mess. Lies, bribes, corruption and tens of millions of dollars wasted on an investigation into the Trump/Russian collusion allegation that many knew was a total waste of taxpayer money and did nothing to stop it. Again, most American politicians think only about themselves and their self enrichment and egos, the needs and problems of the American people are secondary to getting into and staying in office, regardless of how many laws are broken and how much taxpayer wealth is wasted.

That will do it for today: false, expensive conspiracy efforts, creating record setting inflation, stealing from kids athletics, and restricting freedom with no positive upsides.
