Time to check in on the American political class and see what nonsense, idiocy, and other shenanigans they are up to:
1)A number of years ago we wondered how someone could be in Congress and still be so ignorant of the government and the world. That person was New York Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This is a person with a college degree in economics. And yet she was not anywhere close to understanding the basic definition of unemployment, a concept that is probably taught in the first week of high school economics.
She was also running for Congress when she issued the ignorant comment that the three branches of the U.S. government were the Presidency, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. Seems she did not know that the Supreme Court has been a branch of the Federal government since the late 1700s.
But she is not the only person in DC spouting off nonsense:
Inflation in June was 8.5% and inflation in May was also 8.5%.
By definition this means that prices in general in June, 2022 were 8.5% higher than they were in June, 2021.
Similiarly, prices in May, 2022 were 8.5% higher than they were in May, 2022.
Pretty simple, right?
But still too complicated for Joe Biden, who boldly announced that inflation was 0% in June, meaning that prices in June 2022, were about the same as in June, 2021.
Yes, the rate of inflation in June, 2022 was the same as the rate of inflation in May, 2022 but that does not mean the rate of inflation in June was zero, unbelievable that he thinks so.
But the idiocy is not restricted to Biden since his Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttiege recently stated that those people who were upset about skyrocketing gas prices could eliminate that hassle of high priced gas by buying a $60,000+ electric car.
Never mind that the majority of Americans cannot afford to buy an expensive electric car, they would still have to pay for electricity to charge there electric car, they will likely have to purchase an expensive battery to replace the original battery in their electric vehicle when the original dies, and there is a remote but real chance that electric car is going to spontaneously catch fire, making Buttiege’s statement pure stupidity,
But not to be outdone by being out of touch with reality, Biden’s Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm, recently said that homeowners can avoid paying for high priced fuel to cool and warm their houses by spending tens of thousands of dollars to equip their homes with solar panels.
When families are struggling just to put food on the table because of the high inflation of Biden’s inane economic policies, telling them to simply payout tens of thousands of dollars for solar panels is ridiculous.
Just more examples of how those in Washington are both ignorant and stupid when it comes to basic economic policies and are so out of touch with the struggles of most American families as they try to cope with Biden’s decades high inflaiton results.
2)I decided to break out Senator Elizabeth Warren’s latest insane statement and attitude from the above examples because it merits a distinction for possibly being the worst statement ever made by a U.S. Senator. The good Senator wanted to run for President in 2020 but did not get the chance that eventually went to Biden.
Now, one might think that she did not win because she did not connect with enough voters, that maybe her views were not popular enough, maybe she did not raise enough campaign cash or any number of other rational reasons why she lost out to Biden.
But the good Senator has convinced herself that there was another reason why she did not win the nomination for President:
In a recent interview with an NBC correspondent, she claimed that she finished third in the Democratic primaries because she does not have a penis.
Yes, according to her reckoning, it was not her ideas, her lack of chemistry with voters, insufficient campaign funds that denied her the nomination but her lacking of a male sex and urination organ.
According to the Senator: “Everyone comes up to me and says, ‘I would have voted for you if you had a penis.”
Wow, that political excuse is a first. Give her credit for originality. I do not remember “everyone” commenting at the time that they would have voted for her if she just had a penis. Even if she believes this nonsense, stating it out loud to a news person has to be one of the dumbest political statements ever made. Insanity.
3)We have often made the case that people want to be free and will take whatever action they think necessary to fulfill that goal and need:
They want to be free from oppressive taxation levels that rob them of their hard earned cash and hinder them from running their lives as they see fit.
They want to be free from excessive government regulations that inhibit economic growth and prosperity.
They want to be free from fearing for their lives and property from high crime rates and violence.
Many times we have pointed out that this desire to be free of high taxes, high regulation, and high crime rates is driving people out of certain states and cities where these conditions exist. This out migration has been most pronounced in high tax, high crime states like Illinois, California, New York and New Jersey.
The out migration has been high in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City and other high tax/high crime cities.
The problem with this type of migration is that it tends to be the higher income, wealthier residents that are leaving these states and cities. This out migration reduces the tax base which results in government tax revenue shortfalls which results in higher taxes which results in more out migration and the financial death spiral is in place.
So let’s revisit this situation and see if anything has changed. Redfin, a major real estate brokerage company, recently released a report that identified the 10 U.S cities that Americans seem most desperate to move out of. The top ten cities suffering out migration issues are really no surprise:
San Francisco
Los Angeles
New York City
Washington DC
Seattle
Boston
Detroit
Denver
Chicago
Minneapolis
Many of these cities, especially the ones at the top of the list and Chicago, were our favored picks to be the next major city to declare bankruptcy as the financial death spiral kills off the financial viability of a city’s government. And most of these cities are high taxation, high government regulation, and high crime centers, not very conducive to a high quality of life experience.
People want to be free, a sentiment that never seems to make sense to the above big city mayors and politicians who let crime run rampant, keep raising taxes, and keep interfering in people’s lives with higher and higher levels of government regulation.
That will do it for today: the financial death spiral phenomenon is alive and possible in at least 10 U.S. cities, a female U.S.Senator laments out loud her lack of a penis, and Washington people are still ignorant and elitists when it comes to economic realities for most Americans, realities that they do not face on a day to day survival basis.
