Every month we devote posts to just general political class insanity that is running rampant through the country. The members of the American political class continue to show that they are incapable of efficiently operating any level of government in this country.
Even their best efforts are almost always ineffective at resolving any problem facing Americans. They spend a great amount of time not trying to improve the lives of their citizens but continually ensuring their reelection and enriching themselves, their families, and their friends in the process, all at taxpayer expense.
1)Very often we have discussed our theory that a major city or an entire state government will soon go bankrupt. The politicians that operate these city and state governments have no idea how to resolve problems or to operate efficiently. As a result, residents and businesses end up paying higher and higher taxes but do not see an improvement in their quality of life.
As a result, these frustrated residents and businesses leave these cities and states to find better places to raise their families and operate their businesses. As a result of this out-migration, city and state governments see serious reductions in their tax revenue.
Rather than become more efficient and effective with lower tax revenue, they usually raise taxes, an act that pushes more residents and businesses to leave, further reducing tax revenue. This creates a financial death spiral that eventually brings the city or state government to bankruptcy court.
A favorite city candidate to go bankrupt first is New York City. It has seen a large number of high paying jobs and businesses leave the city for more tax friendly locations. It has a higher than average crime rate, it has a serious homeless population, and it has been overwhelmed with thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants that has required the shrinking tax revenue stream to be diverted to feed, clothe and give medical attention to illegal immigrants.
Given all of these problems, what are the city’s political class focused on? None of these problems:
New York City’s politicians are close to passing legislation to investigate the possibility of paying slave reparations to descendants of slaves.
Keep in mind that New York City never had slaves, never had cotton plantations, and yet these politicians are focusing resources on this imaginary problem.
The legislation would create a so-called “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to study the city’s involvement in slavery and create potential financial reparations to slave descendants.
The commission would try to find a way to estimate how much to pay slave descendants.
And the cost of this study, not the cost of reparations, will cost $2.5 million.
This is $2.5 million that cannot be spent on hungry, homeless, and New York City residents in need of medical care.
Another stupid political class idea. Rather than paying out taxpayer wealth in reparations, why not use that money to improve the education of low income and black kids so that they have a chance to be successful on their own and for generations to come? Why not invest in family services and technical training and a whole host of programs to improve the lot of current black citizens today rather than via reparations?
Running out of money and spending money on this idiocy, only in America.
2)The Biden administration has insulted our brave armed forces people multiple times during the past few years. When the botched departure from Afghanistan resulted in the unnecessary death of 13 service people, Biden completely disrespected their bodies when they were delivered stateside. He constantly looked at his watch as if he had more important things to do then pay his respects to their deaths.
On the third anniversary of this disaster and death, the families of those 13 service people, who unnecessarily died, invited both Biden and Harris to attend a memorial service at Arlington National Cemetery. Not only did neither attend the memorial service, neither bothered to send a representative to the service. Biden was sunbathing in Delaware and who knows where Harris was.
And the disrespect was recently evident again:
On the anniversary of 9/11, an event that resulted in the deaths of about 3,000 civilians and thousands of American soldiers in the battle against terror, John Kirby insulted our fighting forces again.
John Kirby is the Biden White House National Security Council advisor.
Recently, a group of veterans were criticizing Biden’s failure relative to the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Kriby was caught sending out an email with the condescending and callous statement that there was “no use in responding” to the veterans comments and concerns.
He went on to dismiss them as just a “handful of vets.”
It was meant to be an internal memo but Kirby screwed up and accidentally sent it to a journalist.
So disrespectful to those that serve and protect, from Biden on down the line.
3)We have written too many times how the 2020 Presidential election process was corrupted with criminal and corrupt voting processes. And four years later, we are still finding out how corrupt our voting processes have become:
The state of Georgia’s election commission recently announced that its investigation of the state’s voting behaviors found 140 violations of voting laws and voting processes.
One of those violations concluded that 380,000 unverified mail ballots should never have been certified and included in the final state count.
The state of Virginia recently found out that thousands of non-citizens were on the voting rolls and had already illegally voted in elections.
Texas recently purged its voting rolls of about a million bogus voting records.
If you go to our late November, 2020 posts you will find posts which documented dozens of shady dealings from the election.
And the corruption seems to never end:
The Ohio election integrity unit recently found an illegal voter registration plan.
The scheme involved a fraudulent voter registration effort that targeted Haitian illegal immigrants.
The scheme covered a number of Ohio counties.
It was found that many of the shady ballots seemingly had the same handwriting pattern.
The main group being investigated for voter fraud registrations goes by the name of Black Fork Strategies.
Such a disgrace. If you do not have fair, uncorrupted elections, you do not live in a democracy.
4)As we have always been sure to point out, corrupt politicians do not only reside in Washington. Tiffany Henyard is the mayor of Dolton, Illinois. She has been investigated in the past for misuse of government funds in a variety of instances. And she was recently back in the news again:
She is accused of recently throwing a party using taxpayer funds and whose cost came out to $85,000.
The cost included $30,000 on a 30 minute performance by one artist and a $20,000 fee for another rapper artist.
She spent $85,000 but only about 70 people showed up so that the per person cost for a short concert came to over $1,200 per person.
Former Dolton trustee Valeria Stuubbs was not happy with this use of taxpayer funds: “That was a flop. It might have been approximately 65 to 70 people there. She likes to use our tax dollars to promote herself. She does all these events trying to buy the voters.”
The mayor was previously accused of using taxpayer wealth to pay for her first class flights, a team of professional hair and makeup artists and an extensive security detail to protect herself.
According to a local WGN-TV news report: “Henyard, her political committee, her cancer charity, her boyfriend, two of her relatives, four trustees who are allies, her deputy police chief and even her defunct burger business are all named in the [FBI] subpoenas.”
In 2022, the city had a $5.6 million budget surplus but since she became mayor the city now has a $3.6 million budget deficit.
As always, everyone in this country, including politicians, are considered innocent until proven guilty. But it is tough not to get suspicious when failed and expensive social events use taxpayer money and the Feds are investigating you for corruption. If she is guilty, no surprise, given the corruption track record of big time and small town politicians.
Possibly more corruption in a small Midwest town, more voting process corruption, more disrespecting of our troops by Biden, and bad priorities by NYC politicians. Not a good day.
