October, 2017, Part 1, Political Class Insanity: The Clinton Crime Syndicate Goes Into The Next Generation, Michelle Obama Calls Millions Of American Women Stupid and More

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

1) Liberals and Democrats are always bragging how tolerant they are, how they respect others’ opinions even if they differ from theirs. We have proven dozens of times in this blog that this is a fable, a myth, but that does not stop Democrats and liberals from continuing to tell themselves that they are tolerant and then promptly stick their foot in their mouths.

This latest example of tolerance hypocrisy came from former First Lady Michelle Obama. Speaking at a conference in Boston, she declared that, “Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice.” She went on to say that women voting for Trump were justing going along with the pack, i.e. women who voted for Trump were too stupid to think for themselves and vote for whom they wanted.

But her condescension got even worst: “That we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, ‘He’s better for me. His voice is more true to me.’ To me that just says, you don’t like your voice. You just like the thing you’re told to like.” Again, a second inference that if you voted for Trump you are too stupid to think for yourself, that you are weak as a woman and as a human being.

How much more anti-woman can you be, telling millions and millions of women that they were too weak and stupid and cowardly to vote for the person that Michelle wanted them to vote for? Total lack of respect.

Hey, Michelle, let me put forth a counter argument: maybe the women that voted for Trump could not see themselves voting for a candidate who protected, condoned, and abetted a sexual predator husband for decades and who did not want that sexual predator to return to the White House as representative of their views. By voting for Hillary, maybe you are the one that did not listen to “your voice” and supported the continuation of a sexual predator alliance.

2) Richard Pollock, writing for the Daily Caller website on September 27, 2017, exposed another little piece of corruption from the Clinton crime syndicate, an effort that was in full force during Hillary’s time as Secretary of State which resulted in many government favors and advantages being available for the right price and the right advantage to the Clinton family and family friends:
  • A company headed up by one of Chelsea Clinton’s best friends was able to land $11 million in Federal government contracts from a high secret Department of Defense think tank without ever having received official approval and clearance to handle classified and secret government materials.
  • Jacqueline Newmyer, a long term best friend of Chelsea Clinton, is president of a firm called the Long Term Strategy Group which has received government contracts from the secret DOD think tank, the Office Of Net Assessment.
  • The Office Of Net Assessment is so top secret that it reports directly to the Secretary of Defense.
  • Ten years after having worked for the Office Of Net Assessment, the Long Term Strategy Group is only now going through the process for getting proper security clearance even though the company never had a secure physical room or facility to handle top secret DOD materials.
  • Adam Lovinger, a whistleblower and 12 year veteran of the Office Of Net Assessment, has been sounding the alarm to this security weakness of the Long Term Strategy Group, obviously to no avail.
  • As we stated, Chelsea Clinton and Newmyer are long term, best friends and government emails show her mom Hillary Clinton actively promoting Newmyer’s company in getting DOD contracts despite lack of security clearance.
Just another example of how Hillary Clinton was in business as Secretary of State to take care of herself, her family, her friends, and anyone who had the resources to satisfy her and her cronies.

Oh, and by the way, Adam Lovinger has been under tremendous pressure and hassles from people in the government for daring to speak the truth about the Long Term Strategy Group and the Office of Net Assessment. He has had his security clearance revoked which is pretty ironic that for pointing the reality that Newmyer’s group did not have a security clearance he got his revoked. However, given the Clinton’s reputation for reprisal, he should thank the stars that was the only thing he lost.

3) Another high ranking and idiotic government employee recently had to resign for his inane behavior. According to Fred Lucas, writing for the Daily Signal website on September 29, 2017:
  • Tom Price, Trump’s Health and Human Services Cabinet Secretary recently resigned.
  • Price had come under justifiable heat for using private charter jets to get around the country and the world.
  • According to Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Sanders: “Secretary of Health and Human Services Thomas Price offered his resignation earlier today and the president accepted. The president intends to designate Don J. Wright of Virginia to serve as acting secretary, effective at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2017. Mr. Wright currently serves as the deputy assistant secretary for Health and director of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.”
  • Price had taken private charter plane rides to nearby locations like Philadelphia which were certainly within a short train ride or car ride of D.C.
  • He also used private jets to take international trips, all on the taxpayer dime.
  • Price has offered to pay more than $51,887.31 of his own money to cover some of these taxpayer incurred expenses.
While this type of behavior is not right and it is appropriate for Price to pay back the taxpayers, the article correctly points out the hypocrisy of Democrats who criticized Price’s behavior: “During the Obama administration, a 2013 Government Accountability Office report found a similar problem, in this case, by the Justice Department. Two luxury jets the FBI had said were needed for security against global terrorism were used instead by Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director Robert Mueller. Holder’s predecessors in the George W. Bush administration, Attorneys General Michael Mukasey and Alberto Gonzales, also used the jets. It came at a total cost of $11.4 million, the GAO found.” I am assuming none of those costs were paid back.

But Holder was not done abusing American taxpayers. In 2014, he took a government owned Gulfstream jet and took his family up to New York to view the Belmont stakes horse race. The trip cost the American taxpayer $14,440 but Holder decided he only needed to pay back $995. At least Price’s trips were on official government business. Also, Obama’s CIA Director, Leon Panetta, paid back only $630 for luxury jet trips he took that cost the taxpayer $32,000.

Price should have never taken the trips in luxury private jets and charged the taxpayers. He did the noble and right thing in resigning and paying back a large portion of the expenses he incurred. That was a lot more than what Obama officials did, taking luxury jets trips, at least once for pleasure, paying back only a fraction of the cost, and not resigning.

That will do it for today’s insanity: Michelle Obama dissing woman’s intelligence who dares to disagree with her, the Clinton Crime syndicate extending down into the next generation, and misuse of government funds, now and then. We are just getting warmed up, more insanity in the coming days.

Part 1, August, 2013 Political Class Insanity: Roller Coaster Safety Insanity, A National Park On The Moon, Job Training The Youth...In Belize, and More

It is the beginning of another month, which means it is that time again to review the latest political class insanity from our politicians from all across the country. Each month we pause to take stock of the lunacy, idiocy, stupid statements, ineffectiveness, and wasteful spending of possibly the most inept and ineffective politicians in the history of our country.

The really depressing aspect of these reviews is that each month they get longer and longer in order to document all of the recent insanity. When we first started writing this freedom and liberty blog in 2009, we almost always could get the latest monthly political class shenanigans into a single post. Last month, it took eight days to accomplish the same task. This month, there is an excellent chance we will break that record of eight straight days of insanity, things are getting that bad.

We seem to be living a political nightmare where things get worse and worse at a quickening pace. Unemployment is still rampant, the war on drugs is still a losing proposition, our public schools still under educate our kids, our borders still leak, and our foreign policy is in tatters. All of these crises come together in this blog every month with no solution to anything in sight.

So buckle up, it is going to be a rough couple of weeks.

1) As we just said, lost war on drugs, skyrocketing national debt, chronic unemployment, stagnant economic growth, a disgraceful foreign policy, the Washington political class has screwed up a lot of things. However, have no fear, what is a prominent member of the U.S. Congress interested in working on?

Congressman Ed Markey has the answer. He has recommended that the Federal Government step in and issue Federal Regulations on one of America’s most pressing issues: Roller coasters. Apparently, a woman recently was not properly secured in a roller coaster and fell to her death.

How big a problem is this? Data is sketchy but I did find a government report from the Consumer Product Safety Commission that found there were 52 deaths tied to amusement rides logged between 1990 and 2004. This comes out to about three and a half deaths a year. But these deaths are from all rides, only some of them are from roller coasters. Thus, we may be looking at only one or two deaths a year from roller coasters.

Additionally, according to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions or IAAPA, about 297 million people, both adults and children, safely rode 1.7 billion rides in the U.S. in 2011. The chance of being seriously injured on a ride at a fixed-site park in the U.S. is about 1 in 24 million.

I feel sorry for anyone who dies while on a roller coaster.  But I also feel sorry for the hundreds of kids that die every year in Chicago from gang violence. I feel sorry for the thousands of kids that are physically and sexually abused every year. I see none of Markey’s enthusiasm in fixing these problems rather than a one in 24 million problem.

Do we really need Federal  government Congressional resources being wasted on such trivial things like roller coasters when there is so many more issues affecting millions of Americans? There are fifty state governments and thousands of local government that can worry about roller coaster safety. Just another insanely bad example of priority setting by a Washington politician.

2) But by no means does Congressman Markey have the market cornered on bad Washington priorities. The Independent Journal Review had an interesting article of political class insanity on July 10, 2013. Two House of Representatives Democrats have proposed legislation that would establish a national historical park on the surface of the moon to commemorate where the Apollo missions landed between 1969 and 1972.

The proposed legislation from Congresswoman  Donna Edwards  and Congressman Eddie Bernice Johnson would create the Apollo Lunar Landing Sites National Historical Park. The park would be comprised of all artifacts left on the surface of the moon from the Apollo 11 through 17 missions. The bill says these sites need to be protected because of the anticipated increase in commercial moon landings in the future.

A national park on the moon. Really? We have solved all of the nation’s problems and there is nothing left to do but use Federal government resources and taxpayer money to establish a park on the surface of the moon, a park that every American living today and in the future is highly unlikely to ever visit. Beyond insanity, pure stupidity.

The Independent Journal Review article went onto do a nice comparison of priorities between putting a park on the moon and other, more pressing issues facing Americans:

1. ObamaCare: A national park on the Moon won’t protect Americans from ObamaCare or address any of the law’s failures.

2. Improve the Economy: A park on the Moon does not create jobs and improve education performance for Americans.

3. Student Loans: How will a national Moon park prevent students loan rates from doubling?

4. IRS: Establishing a national Moon park won’t provide any oversight of the out-of-control and criminal IRS.

5. Energy: A Moon park won’t lower energy costs for Americans or help develop energy independence.

So many issues and these clowns are worried about and planning for a lunar park. Words fail me in these instance of lunacy.

3) The Federal government recently announced a half a million dollar program to help create jobs for young people. The grant announcement of the program included the following justification for the spending: “Marginalized youth are empowered when given a voice and opportunities. Equipping marginalized youth and their communities with economic opportunities and/or business training can help them reach their true potential as entrepreneurs and improve citizen security.”

Great idea. Unemployment rates for younger Americans, particularly African Americans, is much higher than the overall U.S. unemployment rate. Thus, this could be a good program for the youth in our country.

Oh, wait a minute. This $500,000 of American taxpayer is not intended for America’s unemployed youth. It is a State Department grant that is going to help the underemployed and unemployed youth in…. wait for it… in Belize. Why we would ship half a million dollars to a foreign country to help the employment opportunities of their youth when our youth are suffering so when it comes to jobs is way beyond me.

Can anyone tell me where Belize is actually located? Can someone tell me if there are strategic, economic, or homeland security reasons for these expenses? I doubt it and I bet no one in the Federal government can either besides keeping their jobs doing dumb stuff and dumber spending like this.

4) The Weekly Standard on July 22, 2013 had another article on government waste. This article was for only $31,000 of wasteful spending but $31,000 might have been used to hire a teacher or teacher’s aide somewhere in America to start the job of fixing what is broken in our education system.

Plus, as you will see, while this example is for “only“ $31,000, it is repeated very often, every time a high ranking government official retires or leaves office. Thus, $31,000 expenses are repeated over and over with no benefit to any American taxpayer.

The latest to waste $31,000 is former Secretary Of Defense, Leon Panetta. According to the article, $31,000 is being spent to paint an original oil portrait of Panetta that will hang in the Pentagon next to other former heads of the Defense Department. In my view, a totally unnecessary expense in times of trillion dollar annual deficits. The vast majority of Americans will never see Panetta’s portrait, much like they will never see the over priced portraits of many other unnotable or unworthy Washington bureaucrats.

Let’s change this process from a blank check where the taxpayer pays to the following:

  • Given the Statue Of Liberty used no taxpayer dollars when it was fully refurbished several decades ago, let’s use that same logic and say no taxpayer dollar swill be used for any Washington bureaucrat portrait, all of whom had less impact on America than the statue of liberty.
  • If a former bureaucrat wants his oil portrait done and hung, he could pay for it himself or do a fund raising campaign to get his or her “fans” to donate, much like fans of the Statue Of Liberty did for her refurbishment.
  • I would bet that you cold get a quality job done for a lot less than $31,000 if the bureaucrat had to fund the portrait themselves,, saving the taxpayer a lot of money over time.

Okay, that will do it for today. We are just getting warmed up with the latest insanity from the political class. But as you can see from today’s wackiness, national parks on the moon, job development programs for Belize’s youth, roller coaster regulation and more, it will be a long haul to cut through the insanity that the politicians have wrought in just the past 30 days or so.

Washington Politicians: Fiscally Out Of Touch, Protecting Turf, Or Incompetent?

As some of you may know, if the political class does not get its act together by March 1, 2013, automatic Federal government spending cuts will kick in that will reduce government spending by over a trillion dollars over the next ten years. This “sequestering” of budget dollars was agreed to by Congress and Obama in August of 2011 in the debt ceiling negotiations.

While this is a decent first step in reining in government spending, it is still pretty meager. Overall government spending will still increase in the baseline budget view, it will just increase at a somewhat lower rate. Annual spending deficits will continue to mount up, increasing our onerous national debt and burdening future generations of Americans with that debt.

How anemic is this effort at reducing spending? Let’s do some simple math:
  1. Let’s assume that the ten year trillion dollar spending reduction averages out to about $100 billion a year.
  2. According to the official White House website, the Federal government will spend about $4.5 trillion in 2017.
  3. This $4.5 trillion is less than it spent in 2012 but is less than it will likely spend ten years from now, under baseline budget assumptions, so the 2017 estimate is a good ten year annual average.
  4. $100 billion a year in spending cuts against an average spending budget of $4.5 trillion is only a meager 2.2% spending decrease.
  5. According to the White House budget website, in 2017, this $100 billion in spending cuts would still add over half a TRILLION dollars to the national debt.
Despite this feeble attempt at expense reduction, many in the Obama administration are choking on it. Recently retired Defense Secretary Leon Panetta claimed our national defense would be endangered by reducing spending by 2.2% on average. Secretary of State John Kerry recently made the same assertion that we could not afford a meager 2.2% reduction in his budget since we needed to continue to butt into the lives of people in other countries around the world. President Obama has been spreading panic by claiming all of these vital government services would be cut all because of a lousy 2.2% cut in spending.

Makes you wonder if 1) these so-called leaders are that out of touch with the real world, 2) want to protect their turfs at any cost regardless of the impact on the fiscal integrity of the country, or 3) are just that incompetent that they do not know how to run an efficient operation and can only operate it by increasing their budget rather than decreasing their organization’s waste, redundancy, and incompetence.

To help these politicians understand why this 2.2% reduction is a very easily attainable goal, let’s point out via just a HANDFUL of examples of how wasteful, redundant and incompetent their organizations are today:

- Medicare and Medicaid lose over $100 billion a year to waste, inefficiency, and criminal fraud.

- Social Security loses over $100 billion a year to waste, inefficiency, and criminal fraud.

- The IRS admits that it is so incompetent that it fails to collect over $380 billion a year from tax evaders.

- The U.S. Navy, one of Leon Panetta’s organizations, recently spent $300 million to build two Navy ships almost to completion before spending another $10 million to turn them both into scrap metal without ever using them.

- The State Department, John Kerry’s new organization, recently spent $80 million to build a consulate building in northern Afghanistan that will never be used since the $80 million is not defensible from a terrorist attack and was built by bypassing the State Department’s own guidelines for consulate building relative to terrorists.

- The Transportation Safety Agency recently bought over $180 million worth of airport security equipment that it will never use, storing it in a warehouse in its original packaging.

- Employees in the General Services Administration threw themselves a Las Vegas bash at taxpayer expense, resulting in the dismissal and resignations of several GSA employees and executives.

- The Obama administration recently made the inane decision to give Egypt over one billion dollars worth of F-16 fighter planes and tanks for no reason at all, weapons that could eventually impact both the Department of Defense and State Department operations in the future.

- And last but not least, consider some new findings relative to the President’s economic stimulus plan, as recently reported by the Independent Journal Review. Unfortunately, these types of expenses are no confined to the stimulus program, they happen every day in every Federal government department and entity.

These insults to the taxpayer occurred even though when President Obama signed the $831 billion stimulus into law in 2009, he stated that “tough choices and smart investments” needed to be made. So ask yourself: if these are “smart investments,“ you can only wonder what the dumb expenses were:
  1. $250 was sent to a woman in Maryland who died in 1967.
  2. $840 was spent to disassemble and assemble three desks.
  3. The Lincoln Center in New York City was paid to host a “tango salon.
  4. $10,000 was spent replacing light fixtures at a fish hatchery.
  5. $425,000 was spent in $250 increments to 1,700 prisons inmates for social security checks.
  6. $426,000 was spent to rebuild a bridge that is used by a average of ten cars a day.
  7. $500,000 was spent in subsidies for rain barrel installation.
  8. $600,000 was sent to a school district in Kansas …that no longer exists.
  9. $1 million was spent in New York on road signs advertising stimulus projects.
  10. $1 million was used to build 250 bike lockers.
  11. $1.25 million was used to use electric fish to study animal sensory information.
  12. $1.75 million was spent on energy-efficient garage doors.
  13. $2.2 million was spent to install skylights for a liquor store in Montana.
  14. $2.8 was million spent installing toilets in New Mexico’s national forest.
  15. $15 million was spent to build an airport in Ouizinkie, Alaska …a town of 165 people.
Disgraceful wastes of money. Which gets us back to our central question: Are Kerry, Panetta, and Obama out of touch, protecting turf or just incompetent? Or possibly all of the above?
