January, 2021, Part, 3, Political Class Insanity: Government Sanctioned Racism From Biden, Big Tech Tries to Squash Freedom Of Speech, Big Tech Vets Infest Biden Administration And Karma Punches Ted Wheeler

It is the beginning of another month which means it is time again to review the latest political class insanity from the American political class. Each month it takes us multiple posts to cover the wasteful spending, incompetent government organizations and employees, government programs that usually make a problem worse than resolving it, inane and idiotic politician comments, etc.

To review past posts on this insanity and idiocy, just click on the first few posts in each month listed to the right of this page. After reviewing just a handful of these insanity posts we think you will agree that we are currently being served by the worst set of American politicians ever to hold office in our entire history.

1) Ted Wheeler is the mayor of Portland, Oregon. For about a year or so he has coddled, kowtowed, ignored, and tolerated Antifa as its members ran rampant through his city night after night of law breaking behavior. His passivity has endangered peaceful citizens’ lives, businesses, and the future of the city as residents and businesses leave to get away from the violence and criminality. He was even forced to flee from his own apartment when these people showed up at his home.

Well, as I have always believed, there is always karma in life as a recent article on the Conservative and Free website pointed out karma belief relative to the good mayor:
  • Apparently the mayor was recently eating at an outside restaurant one evening.
  • For no reason, an Antifa thug came upon him and decided to punch the mayor for no reason, landing a punch on his shoulder.
  • On top of the attack, one of the accompanying Antifa members told the mayor, “You are going to be made to feel like the scum you are. F*ck you, f*ck you, shame on you."
  • According to the article: “The Mayor’s office stated that On Wednesday evening, during a non-work-related dinner with a friend in a designated outdoor area, Mayor Wheeler was confronted by a group of people. The Mayor had been seated for about five minutes when a group of people began shouting obscenities at the Mayor from the outside of the tent.”
  • The mob eventually forced themselves into the restaurant where the mayor was punched.
Another failure, as we have discussed so many times, where the local political class cannot carry out a basic, basic function of government: protecting the safety of its citizens and businesses. Wheeler has failed so dramatically that he cannot even protect himself from violence.

2) One of the most important human rights in society and country is freedom of speech. Everyone should be able to talk about their views as long as it does not advocate violence in any form on another human being. In this country, we have this right protected by the First Amendment.

Unfortunately, that right is under attack by so-called Big Tech, Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. The Bill Of Rights protects our freedom of speech from government and political class violating it. But Big Tech has gotten so big that they are now on the verge of stifling free speech, adult conversation of issues, and acting like the great tyrants of the past, Hitler. Stalin, etc.

Over the past couple of weeks, these companies have taken serious, distressing and massive actions to shut down and censor anyone who does not have the same liberal/Democratic opinions of them, for example:
  • Ron Paul is a former Congressman who was likely the most Libertarian member of Congress ever, a strong advocate for the rights laid out in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
  • He is an older gentleman so from a physical perspective he is a threat to no one.
  • For no apparent reason, his Twitter account was temporarily suspended for “repeatedly going against our community standards.”
  • According to Mr. Paul: "With no explanation other than "repeatedly going against our community standards" @Facebook has blocked me from managing my page. Never have we received notice of violating community standards in the past, and nowhere is the offending post identified. The only thing we posted to Facebook today was my weekly "Texas Straight Talk" column, which I have published every week since 1976."
  • The article that probably got him censored by Facebook was a discussion of tech company censorship.
So there you have it, Stalin and Hitler style. Dare to criticize the big tech companies and they will stifle your right to have an opinion. And no liberal and Democratic politician has stepped up to object to this suppression of free thought and opinion.

3) But maybe this tech censorship initiative should not surprise us since according to a January 10, 2021 article by Chuck Ross of the Washington Times:
  • At least 14 current or former high ranking employees from five different major technology companies will be serving in Biden’s Presidential administration.
  • Maybe not coincidentally, it is these five companies, Apple, Google, Amazon, Twitter and Facebook that have launched their own censorship efforts to quiet and squash the opinions and free speech rights of non-liberal citizens.
  • The top government lobbyist for Apple, Cynthia Hogan, was a chief advisor to the Biden transition team.
  • A former Twitter executive will be Biden’s chief spokesperson for the National Security Council.
  • Jessica Hertz, who was a director for Facebook’s regulatory team, will serve as White House staff director.
  • Emily Horne, former head of global policy communications for Twitter, will be the director of press and spokesperson for the National Security Council.
  • David Recordon, a former developer for Facebook, will be the director of technology for the Office of Management and Administration. Austin Lin, a former program manager at Facebook, will serve as Recordon’s deputy.
  • Jeff Zients, a former Facebook board member who served in the Obama administration, is Biden’s Covid-19 czar.
I could go on and on about others but you get the idea. The very type of people that either worked for or probably support the censorship efforts from these tech companies will be serving you and I in the Biden administration. Which means it is highly unlikely that Biden will properly respond to the growing censorship of American citizens by these tech companies who, it is my opinion, are not doing it out of a higher sense of consciousness but to preserve what is obviously their lucrative business monopolies.

When a competitor arises that immediately has a negative impact on their money printing machines, such as Parler, an alternative to Twitter and Facebook, these companies act in unison to shut down this potential monopoly upsetting company. These companies are willing to stifle free speech in this country, something that is vitally needed to address the many issues we are all facing, in order to keep themselves rich and powerful beyond any regular American’s wildest dreams.

4) One thing that irritates me to no end is the insistence by Democrats and liberals in this country that anyone or any action that they disagree with has racism at its core. This insistence that just about anything that rubs them the wrong way is racist minimizes the real racism in this country: if everything is racist then nothing is racist.

And at the same time, the refuse to recognize the many times when they are actually racist themselves, as Joe Biden recently illustrated:
  • According to a Daily Wire article by Ryan Saavedra on January 11, 2021, Joe Biden wants to get economic relief to American small businesses.
  • Sounds like a good idea on the surface, small businesses in this country have certainly suffered as a result of the pandemic.
  • But then you find out that his program will be intentionally racist in nature, since according to Biden: “Our focus will be on small businesses on Main Street that aren’t wealthy and well-connected, that are facing real economic hardships through not fault of their own. Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women-owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild.”
  • So, small business owners who happen to be white males need not apply.
  • So, Biden is not even in office yet and his racist past, as we have pointed out previously, is already underway.
  • You cannot single out a group of Americans because of their skin color, exclude them from a government program, and claim you are not a racist.
It is my understanding such behavior is against Federal law which means someone is probably and correctly going to sue him out of the gate for this racism against white business owners.

The good news is that, according to the article, his racism was met with heavy criticism. The bad news is that very few liberals criticized his racism even though they usually have a long history of complaining but faux racism but now ignore this real racism:
  • “White need not apply. Unbelievable. Would you want to also just round them up while you are at it.” - Obianuju Ekeocha
  • “Asians have the highest median household incomes of any racial group in America, and it’s not even close — $87K vs $65K for whites, the next highest group. Why should they get preferential treatment? Identity politics is garbage.” - Alliance Imitative Executive Director Noah Pollak
  • “Can we please just help Americans without further dividing us into competing subgroups?” - Ricochet Editor-in-chief Jon Gabriel
  • “This is actual institutional racism.” - Ricochet Editor-in-chief Jon Gabriel
  • “Discrimination based on race and sex of white men remains unlawful under federal law.” - Attorney Marina Medvin
  • “Are you implying minorities and women unlikely to own large businesses? That’s racist.” - Political commentator Wu Lebao
  • “Asians are doing economically far better than whites. One of the many flaws of the ideological ‘POC’ / ‘white’ model.” - Writer Rav Arora
  • “If you’re wondering what systemic racial discrimination actually looks like, the Harris Administration is about to give you a tutorial.” - Daily Wire columnist Matt Walsh
But nowhere in the reaction were the typical race baiters like Pelosi, liberal Hollywood types, liberal media people, etc. I guess racism in their minds only exists when it serves their political purposes.

There you have it, your next batch of political class insanity: the racism of Joe Biden, the tyranny, monopoly, and censorship from big tech, big tech’s infiltration of the political class, and a liberal mayor suffers the same pain that he has inflicted on his constituents.

September, 2016, Political Class Insanity, Part 2: The Looming Debt Disaster.Pentagon Credit Card For Strip Joints, and MOre

It is the beginning of another month which means it is again time to review the latest political class insanity from Washington and around the world. Political class insanity takes many forms including the wasting of taxpayer wealth, criminal fraud within government programs, inane and stupid political quotes and actions, the inability to create and implement effective and efficient government programs, stupid and ill performing economic policies and strategies, and other forms of insanity that continue to evolve and surprise and shock us.

The current monthly record for the number of days that were needed to cover one month's worth of insanity is ten. We almost equaled that record last month when we needed nine days to cover one month’s worth of political class insanity. There is a very good chance that the ten day record could fall this month since as we get closer and closer to the election, the volume of ineptness grows almost exponentially.

But today and for all of the posts this month, let’s start off with a welcome piece of honest political dialog. It comes from a State Department spokesperson.Mark Toner, who is about to start the daily State Department press briefing. In a joking matter, he makes the following quote: "Welcome to the State Department. I think we have some interns in the back. Welcome. Good to see you in this exercise in transparency and democracy."

He then bursts out laughing at his own quote, indicating he also knew what a joke the Obama administration has been, especially Mr. Toner’s State Department, when it comes to cover ups, lack of transparency, denial of Freedom of Information Act requests, the prosecution of whistleblowers, etc. But at least it was a little refreshing to finally hear some actual honesty out of Washington as we see from the actual clip of the news conference:

With that context of honesty, let’s see what other insanity has been going down:

1) Yesterday, we discussed the scandal where the Pentagon had lost over $6.0 TRILLION over the years, trillions that could not be properly accounted for by the auditors. Today we get an idea where a little of that money may have ended up. According to a recent Washington Free Beacon article by Morgan Chalfont, a recent analysis of government issued credit cards to Pentagon employees found that those cards were often used for personal expenses at casinos and stip clubs.

Details of the misuse of the credit cards included the following:
  • A sampling of credit card usage found that almost two dozen Pentagon employees charged $8,544 to their government credit cards for personal use, of which some of those dollars were obtained by using ATMs at casinos.
  • This came out in a follow up audit from 2015 where the inspector general found that over $1 million had been improperly charged to government credit cards by Pentagon employees.
  • The latest inspector general probe confirmed that Pentagon management had not taken enough appropriate action after the first audit found the misspending.
  • One Navy civilian employee was found to have misspent almost $30,000 of taxpayer wealth at casinos and other locations even though that employee had been explicitly identified in the first audit.
  • In addition, the latest audit found that of the 29 employees reviewed, 22 were improperly reimbursed for 131 vouchers totaling $8,544 during the review period. Thus, over 70% of those audited had misused their government credit cards.
  • The original audit found that 4,427 improper credit card transactions totalling $952,258 were done at casinos and 900 transactions were done at “adult entertainment establishments” between July 2013 and June 2014.
Now we at least know where some of the lost $6.0 TRILLION ended up. The frustrating thing is that the Pentagon management was told what was going on as a result of that first audit and the second audit found virtually no improvements in behavior had occurred. Insane.

2) Let’s stay in the defense area for this next piece of insanity. According to a recent article on the Freedom Post website, written by Tim Brown on August 23, 2016, a Federal judge recently sentenced Wenxia Man, a California citizen and a naturalized citizen, to jail for trying to illegally export military equipment to a foreign nation.

But she was not trying to export a few rifles or grenades. Federal prosecutors presented evidence that she was trying to send F-135, F-22 and F-16 engines from Air Force fighter jets to China as well an MQ-9 Reaper drone aircraft, worth = $50 million. She was caught in a Federal law enforcement undercover operation before she could ship any military hardware to a “technology spy” in China.

The pure insanity of this situation is that despite trying to ship major military equipment and military secrets to a foreign, semi-hostile power, she was given only four years in prison. Are you kidding me? People selling marijuana get more jail time and in no way do they endanger our national security like this woman tried to do. Talk about bad law enforcement and judicial priorities and penalties. Insane.

3) We recently did a dedicated post that showed how bad the Obama administration and the Washington political class had handled our country’s economic affairs over the past eight years or so:

XXXXX

Despite the favorable tailwinds of a massive economic stimulus program, low energy costs, and trillions of dollars pumped into the economy by the Federal Reserve, the resulting economic results were historically anemic and pathetic. Low overall economic growth, stagnant wage growth, doubling of the national debt, various unemployment problems, etc. were the result of their ineptness.

And those results are not getting any better, as outlined in a recent Washington Free Beacon article by Ali Meyer on August 26, 2016. That article reported that the U.S. economy expanded at a pathetic rate of 1.1% in the second quarter of 2016, a downward revision from the original estimate. This second quarter, 2016 growth in the GDP was much lower than the same period in 2015 when the quarterly growth was a more respectable 3.7%.

Thus, the worst economic recovery in the possibly the past 80 years continues with the Washington political class having no idea how to bust out to a more robust economic environment.

4) It is no secret that the Obama administration and its economic mismanagement has resulted in:
  • The doubling of the national debt in eight years.
  • Four consecutive years of having an annual Federal budget deficit of over a trillion dollars.
  • So far, incurring the seven highest annual Federal budget deficits in the history of the country.
  • Raising the national debt to annual total GDP ratio to over 100% from only 60% when Obama took office.
  • Horrific budget management that will burden future generations of Americans with really heavy debt loads and interest payments.
And according to a recent Heritage Foundation article by Michael Sargent on August 24, 2016, this situation is not about to change any time soon:
  • The budget deficit in 2016 is likely to rise again after falling for a few years down, from the whopping trillion dollar deficits earlier in the Obama Presidency.
  • Not only are the budget deficits likely to start rising again but a recent analysis from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicted that this year’s budget deficit will be $50 billion higher than they last estimated.
  • This year’s budget deficit is now estimated at $590 billion, a deficit that would require every U.S.household to pay an additional $5,000 or so in incremental income taxes to cover.
  • This is a 35% deficit increase in just one year from 2015 to 2016.
  • The CBO expects trillion dollar deficits to return by as soon as 2024 unless Washington gets its act together.
  • Within ten years, at the current spending rate, the national debt load will be up to $28 TRILLION, almost triple what it was when Obama took office.
  • If interest rates jump up unexpectedly, then the debt increase would be even more dramatic.
  • And no amount of tax increases will overcome the anticipated spending increases of the Federal government.
  • Only four spending categories, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and interest on the debt will eat up the majority of Federal government spending, going from 69% of the Federal budget today to 77% in ten years.
  • Think about that last number: three out of every four dollars spent in ten years will be on these programs with far less left for the military, infrastructure improvements, welfare assistance, education, and other functions.
  • Annual interest on the national debt by itself will triple over the next ten years.
The good news, which is really bad news, is that we are likely to see the collapse of the economy and the country long before we reach these horrid milestones.

Thus, what Hitler, Stalin, Putin, Mussolini, and many others could not do to us, we are likely to do to ourselves because no one in Washington or on the campaign trail wants to talk honestly about what needs to be done to prevent this fiscal meltdown. Not Trump, not Hillary, not any Democrat or Republican Congressional person running for office.

The insanity is that problem is right there in black and white numbers and no one in the political class has the nerve, the courage, the smarts, or the will to fix what is the biggest issue facing the country today: runaway government spending and waste. So sad.

Two days into the insanity and we already see the highly probable end of the republic. Imagine what the rest of the insanity that still needs to be covered in the coming days.

So It Begins - Orwellian Liberty Death March

Before getting into what an Orwellian Liberty Death March is, a history quiz. Please determine which historical figure said which of the following quotes: Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Mussolini, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton.

Quote 1 - "Politics would a helluva a good business if it weren't for the [expletive deleted] people"

Quote 2 - "You know the one thing wrong with this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say."

Quote 3 - "When personal freedom is being abused, you have to move to limit it."

Quote 4 - "We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary citizens."

Quote 5 - "The Constitution is a radical document. It is the job of government to reign in people's rights."

Quote 6 - "If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the government's ability to govern the people, we should seek to limit those guarantees."

Quote 7 - "We're going to take things away from you for the common good."

Certainly not freedom friendly quotes or attitudes to have. The common thread of all of these quotes is the those that rule over us tend to think that we exist for their benefit and glory rather than they exist to protect our safety AND our rights, freedom, and liberty. Especially in America, which has its basis and heritage in the concept of individual and personal freedom, we should be alarmed by those that think freedom is an inconvenience for those that are in political office.

The second common theme is that none of these quotes come from the worst tyrants of the 20th century, none of them come from Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, or Stalin:

Quote 1 - From Richard Nixon, and shows that he would rather live in a political world where citizens did not exist, certainly an out of touch with reality perspective.

Quote 2 - From Bill Clinton, illustrating his distaste for freedom of speech, a cornerstone of freedom in this country.

Quote 3 - From Bill Clinton, illustrating every politician's desire to limit someone's freedom to expand their own personal political power and reach.

Quote 4 - From Bill Clinton, again, in his mind, those pesky rights and liberties keep getting in the way of what he wants to do.

Quote 5 - From Bill Clinton, the purpose of the Constitution was to protect people's rights, not reign them in, putting Clinton in direct conflict with the greatest declaration of freedom in the history of mankind.

Quote 6 - From Bill Clinton, the more you read about Clinton quotes, the more you believe that he might have been a great USSR ruler.

Quote 7 - Hillary Clinton, seems to run in the family, government knows what is best for everyone, and if freedom has to be stomped out in the process of determining what is best for everyone, than so be it.

Pretty scary stuff. Quotes on the crushing of freedom and individual liberties that you would expect to hear from the likes of Mao and Hitler actually come from elected American politicians.

Which gets us to the concept of the Orwellian Death March, with George Orwell's epic novel, "1984," being the template for repression. In what other novel would you expect to hear the concepts of denying people the right to have their fair say, reigning in and limiting people's rights, and taking things away from citizens for the so-called "common good," which is really a code word for the good of the political and ruling classes.

As we allow more and more politicians to believe and spread these concepts, we begin the death march from a free, democratic society to a repressive, Big Brother regime where power emanates from an elitist few and is dictated down to the masses. This is the exact opposite of the concepts of freedom inherent in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the desires of our founding fathers.

Unfortunately, this Orwellian Death March took two giant steps last week. The first step occurred when a sitting politician, North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue, actually suggested that the next round of Congressional elections be suspended in order to allow politicians to focus on government instead of getting elected: "You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover....You want people who don't worry about the next election." (ABC News - September 28, 2011)

Outrageous. This country has worked for over two centuries in its current form of government, it is not the process that needs to be changed, i.e. suspend elections, it is the quality of people that are within the process that needs to be changed. It is their lack of courage and conviction, their lack of dedication to doing what is right for the country that is at fault, not our form of election-based government.

It is the incompetence of our current crop of politicians that has gotten us to where we are now relative to the major issues of our times. The last thing you want to do is give them a free pass and let them sit in Washington any longer than necessary.

A much better solution is to get people in and out of office in such a way that re-election is not an issue, i.e. term limits. One and done. That way those sitting in Congress do not have to worry about getting re-elected since that would no longer be a possibility.  A term limits solution to the current incompetence in Washington is to have the President serve for only one six year term, Senators serve for only one five year term, and House Of Representative politicians serve for only one four year term.

If you remove the potential for politicians being constantly re-elected, than they might actually do the right thing for the country's welfare, rather than the wrong thing for the country but the right thing for their re-election. The governor fails to realize that a large percentage of people in Congress have been in their position for ten, twenty, or thirty years. Despite their length of service, they have not been able to resolve the major issues of our times. Giving them a free pass for another two years, not subject to recall by the electorate, is a just plain stupid idea.

But the Governor is not the only political figure calling for such freedom defying steps. Peter Orszag, Obama's former director of the Office of Management and Budget recently wrote an article entitled, "Too Much Of Good Thing: Why We Need Less Democracy." Again, unbelievable that a member of the political ruling class would actually come out and lobby for less freedom.

Given the current gridlock in Washington, Orszag would remove some of the power of elected representatives and hand it over to Federal bureaucracies in order to bypass the gridlock: "To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic."

His approach obviously has some serious flaws beyond the severe restrictions it would place on individual's freedoms:
  • Who gets to decide which people sit on these "political institutions?"
  • Who would these institutions be accountable to, who would set their agendas and objectives, who would measure their effectiveness, and how would incompetence from these institutions be dealt with?
  • How much is a "bit less democratic?"
  • How can he guarantee these institutions will also not be politicized since their membership will be determined by politicians?
Mr. Orszag misses the point as did the Governor. The point is not to further entrench the current set of people in Washington into unrecallable Federal institutions. These institutions would become dictatorial entities where only a certain elitist set of people dictate what the rest of the country should and will do. It's called Big Brother and "taking things away for the common good." It is the exact opposite of freedom.

What you want to do is understand the root causes of the problem. And the main root cause of the problem is politicians will do what is best for their perpetual re-election to political office, not what is best for the country. It is not the process of government that is the root cause of our gridlock, it is the desire of politicians to get constantly re-elected that is the root cause.

They have made it so attractive to stay in office, high salaries, the best health care, free car leases, lavish offices, large staffs, long vacations, self enriching retirement options, etc., that the perks have become more important than the job. Thus, the right solution to the problem is not to destroy our democratic processes. The right solution is implement term limits (Step 39 from "Love My Country, Loathe My Government") and reduce the perks so that the only people coming to Washington are those that want to make a positive impact on the country, not a positive impact on their careers and life style.

The fact that two prominent members of the political class would actually voice such Orwellian concepts is frightening. But we should not be surprised. Over the past few decades, starting with Quote 1 above from Nixon, it is been a constant, and sometimes losing, battle to protect our democracy, not from external forces, but from our own insidious political class.

And that low quality and lack of courage will not be removed by keeping the same low performing politicians in office without the benefit and right of recalling them via elections or entrenching and expanding even more Federal bureaucracy to make the decisions that our current politicians cannot make.

The only solution is to remove the lure and riches of re-election by making re-election a non-event via term limits. Serving your country should be an honor, a service, and a patriotic duty, not a career of self enrichment. The only other option is to continue the Orwellian Liberty Death March, right into the hands of Big Brother.

"There are always too many Democratic Congressmen and too many Republican Congressman and never enough U.S. Congressman." Author unknown.
